I have a few new accessories I want to show you. It’s the season for wearing boots, so I bought two pairs of boots that fit in with this season’s trends; red boots and sock boots. The red boots are from a brand called Raid and I bought them on Asos. They have a bit of a ’60s vibe to them which I love. They are also perfect for the festive season. The floral sock boots are from H&M. They have a kitten heel which is a another trend at the moment, and you can style them in so many different ways. I also bought some more glitter socks, and these colours are very appropriate for this time of year. Lastly, I bought some jewellery on Asos. The bracelets are from Asos’ own brand and they are made of gold plated sterling silver. I’ve been wanting some dainty gold bracelets for a long time now, and these are really simple and pretty. I also bought some Kingsley Ryan sterling silver lightening blot earrings, and they are so cute.
October has come to an end which means that in only one month it’ll finally be December. October was a very busy month for me; I’ve been working hard on my master’s thesis and I also went on a choir trip to Helsinki. In November my main focus will definitely be my thesis, and I’m pretty sure that December will be here in no time then. But first, here are some of my favourite things from the month of October.
Burgundy Oxford style shoes by Duffy: I bought these shoes years ago, but I hadn’t really worn them much. I started wearing them more this year, and this past month I’ve been wearing them a lot. I love the dark burgundy colour and the chunky soles.
Warm beige shoulder bag by Belsac: I bought this bag at a second hand store in July, and I decided to bring it with my to Helsinki earlier this month. It was the perfect sized bag for a 5 day trip, and as I’ve mentioned before I love the colour and shape of it.
Juvia’s Place The Saharan eye shadow palette: I expressed my love for this palette in my last post. It’s so gorgeous, and I’m really looking forward to play around with it even more.
Funny Girl (film): I’d been wanting to watch this film for ages, and I finally got to this month. I started watching it in Helsinki with one of the girls from the choir, and then we watched the rest in Helsinki and Riga airport respectively on our way back home. I already new and loved the music, and Barbra Streissand and Omar Sharif did such an amazing job portraying Fanny Brice and Nick Arnstein.
A. C. Perch Afternoon blend tea: When my mum visisted me in the beginning of October, we went to a beautiful tea house and had delicious tea, scones, and petit fours. We tried two different types of tea and our favourite was the Afternoon blend which we purchased a bag of each to take home, so I’ve been drinking a lot of it since.
Here’s what I wore Saturday (night) September 2. I went to a party for all the dorms in the area of my dorm. The party itself was quite boring to be honest, but dressing up for a party is half the fun, am I right? As I mentioned here, I rarely wear all black outfits except at parties/on nights out. I did decide to break up the black with these amazing purple glitter ’70s disco inspired heels, which were super comfortable by the way, and matching purple make-up.
My oldest younger sister and I often wear the same sizes in clothes. She recently cleaned out her closet and brought me and our other sister some things she didn’t want anymore. I picked two things; a super soft and cosy fleece-like jumper from the brand Noisy May and a pair of navy, pointy-toe shoes from Zara. I thought the jumper would be great for lounging around on a cold day, and I remember loving the shoes when my sister had them. She also brought me two pompom keyrings that she made herself. She is extremely creative and makes all sorts of things. She is going to make something else for me, which I’m really excited about and will be posting on the blog at some point.
I’ve accumulated some clothes and shoes over the past month, so I thought I would haul them. As you can see, I’ve got two tops, two pairs of socks, and two pairs of shoes to show you. The Friends T-shirt was a birthday present from one of my sisters. Friends is our favourite TV series and I really wanted a Friends themed T-shirt, so she bought this one for me when she was in England a couple of months ago. The second top is from H&M, and I found it on sale. I love the ruffled sleeves and the stripes. It’s just a very fun top. I’ve also bought another pair of glitter socks (light pink) and another pair of fishnet socks (black). I’ve mentioned it before, but I love cute or fun socks; they add a little extra something to an outfit. I’m very excited about both pairs of shoes. Especially the gingham loafers from River Island. I’d been wanting them for three months before I finally decided to buy them, and I love them! The purple glitter heels are from H&M, and they remind me of ’70s disco. I wore them are a party last weekend, and they were so comfortable and a nice pop of colour.
In mid-July I went shopping with my sisters and cousins, and I bought these four pieces at H&M. I’d been looking for an affordable oversized denim jacket, and I found just that. I’ve been wearing it so much; it just works with every outfit. I don’t buy dresses very often anymore, but I thought this black one with the white print was really pretty. I love the high neck, and I know the picture doesn’t show it properly, but it has really pretty wide sleeves. I had been looking at the mint green velvet trousers for ages, so I was really excited to find them on sale, but my sister found them first, and there was only one pair in our size. She bought them, but to my luck she found another pair of velvet trousers that she liked better, so I bought the mint green ones from her. Lastly, I had also been looking at the boots for a while, and when I found them one sale (they were extremely cheap), I had to buy them. I don’t have any other shoes in that colour, and I’m really excited to style them.
My obsession with everything pink is still going strong, so a little while ago I bought these pink items on Asos. I couldn’t resist the T-shirt; it’s pink and it’s velvet (another obsession of mine). It’s a bit cropped and so cute. I’ve been wanting a pair of pink sneakers for such a long time, and now I finally got some. They’re from Bershka and I love the baby pink colour. Lastly, I bought some socks. I really like fun and cute socks, and I think they can add some quirkiness to an outfit. I been wanting to try out the fishnet trend, but instead of getting some black ones, I decided to get some bright pink ones. I wore them last week and I really liked them. The flamingo socks and palm tree socks come as a set, and I think the prints and colours are really pretty.
I haven’t done any (well, barely any) second hand shopping for a really long time, and I really want to get back into it. However, I did find these pink glitter heels at a second hand shop, and I had to have them. They were super inexpensive, and I wore them at a party shortly after I bought them. My next post will be pictures of that outfit.
By tomorrow it’ll officially be summer. Last week felt like summer in Denmark, but right now it’s windy and rainy outside. May was yet another busy month; the exam period started and I had a big choir concert last week. June will continue to be all about exams, but it is nice to know that this is my last exam period, because I’m going to write my master’s thesis next semester. Even though I’ve been busy this month, I still had a lot of favourites, and here’s five of them.
Adidas Superstar 80s Primeknit sneakers: I bought these sneakers in a Black Friday sale last year, but because of the light knitted material and the cold Danish weather, I haven’t been able to wear until this spring. I’ve especially worn then a lot this past month, and I simply think they are awesome.
Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Eclipse: You probably know by now how much I love the Jeffree Star Skin Frosts, and this limited edition shade made in collaboration with Manny MUA is gorgeous. If Ice Cold and Peach Goddess had a baby, Eclipse would be it.
Homemade iced coffee: As I mentioned, I’m in the middle of the exam period, so I’ve been drinking a lot of coffee. In the beginning of the month, I decided to try to make my own iced coffee, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s really easy to make (it’s just coffee, a bit of sugar, milk, and ice cubes) and it tastes so good.
Riverdale (TV series): I know I’m a little late to the party when it comes to this Netflix Original series, but better late than never. I didn’t really know what to expect (I don’t know much about Archie Comics), but I was extremely pleasantly surprised. I love crime solving series and some high school/love drama. Actually, I enjoyed this series so much that I watched it twice this month. I can’t wait for season 2!
Amar pelos Dois – Salvador Sobral: I love the Eurovision Song Contest, and I’ve watched it every year since I was little. I don’t always like the winning song, but this year my absolute favourite won. This is one of the most beautiful and moving songs, I’ve ever listened to and my favourite Eurovision winner of all time. Even though I don’t understand a single word (it’s in Portuguese) and still feel every single word, and I’ve been listening to this song on repeat ever since it won the contest. Please, take a few minutes and listen to this song if you haven’t already.
We are rapidly moving into the last month of spring, and I really wish the weather would get a lot warmer very soon. Anyways, April was another very busy month for me, and my exams start in May, so I have yet another busy month ahead of me. But let’s say goodbye to April by talking about some favourites.
Silver sneakers by Missguided: I’m so glad I bought these silver sneakers back in December. They add a little extra something to any outfit, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so many complements on a pair of shoes before.
Jeffree Star Beauty Killer eye shadow palette: Jeffree Star Cosmetics is one of my favourite make-up brands, and I finally bought the Beauty Killer palette a couple of months ago. The shadows are so pigmented, and I love the colours; I’ve actually worn more colourful eye looks this month partly because of this palette.
Wet n Wild MegaGlo contouring palette in Dulce De Leche: This little highlight and contour duo is very handy. It’s great for travelling, and the powders are matte and very pigmented.
Monsters, Inc. (film): On the film front, my 2017 has been amazing so far. One of the best films, I’ve watched this past month, is Monsters, Inc. I’ve watched it once before, but that was years ago, so I didn’t remember much of it. It was so good though, but as the Disney lover that I am, I find it hard to dislike anything Disney.
Glee (TV series): I’ve watched Glee before, but this month I just felt like rewatching it. So I watched the first two seasons and about half of the third season again, and I still love it. I was in my gymnasium’s (high school) choir, which I loved, but I wish it would have been more like glee club.
