5 favourites – May

The last spring month has come to an end, which means we’re going in to summer, and I’m very excited about that. I just wish that the weather would be summery too, but it looks as if my wish might come true towards the end of this week. Another reason why I’m super excited about summer is that it means that the summer holiday is not far away. I’ve been working a lot lately (this time of year is always stressful, when you’re a teacher), and I really need a long break. But, I still have about four weeks of work left, and we also have some May favourites to talk about first, so let’s do that.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Blemish Fighting Putty primer: The original e.l.f Cosmetics Poreless Putty primer is one of my favourite primers, and when I first saw that e.l.f Cosmetics had come out with a Blemish Fighting version, I was very intrigued. My skin has been quite nice lately, and I don’t necessarily think that this primer has much to do with that, but I really like it, and I’ve been reaching for it quite a bit.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder (shade: 1 Fair): It wasn’t instant love with this high end powder, but love it became. I don’t know why I wasn’t blown away the first couple of times, I used this powder, but the more I use it, the more I love it. I think my skin looks stunning all day, when I wear this powder, so maybe it’s worth the expensive price tag after all.

By BEAUTY BAY Midnight 42 Colour Palette: I haven’t hauled this palette yet, but I think it’s been my most used palette in May, so I had to feature it. You probably know by now that I love both purple and blue eyeshadow, so this palette was pretty much made for me. And I really enjoy the By BEAUTY BAY eyeshadow formulas, so I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this palette.

MAC M·A·CStack mascara: This mascara has gone viral for a good reason. This is only a sample, but I really like this mascara, so I might purchase a full size at some point.

Lego Creator Expert Orchid: I really needed a fun, little project to de-stress, and I love orchids, so I had to have this Lego version. It’s always fun building Lego sets, and now I’ll always have an orchid in bloom.

Second pastel look

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This was the second eye look I did with the Natasha Denona Pastel palette. I prefer the first one I did, but this one is pretty too.

(Base: primers – Essence Catching Clouds Cloud-touch Mousse Primer in 01 Up On Cloud + MAC Strobe Cream (shade: Pinklite), foundation – L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain), concealers – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + e.l.f. Cosmetics Flawless Brightening concealer (shade: Fair 10 C), powder – Laura Mercier Translucent Loose setting powder. Face make-up: bronzer – Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle cream bronzer in Butta Bisquit, blusher – Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Matte liquid blush in Grace, highlighter – Rare Beauty Positive Light liquid highlighter in Enchant. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 05 Granny Pants + Natasha Denona Pastel palette (shades: Feather + Starlet + Duet + Dainty + Illusion), mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – NYX Faux Whites eyeliner in Lavender Blush. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: Morphe x Nyane Color pencil in Pitaya Pink + Morphe x Nyane Mega Matte lipstick in Ayane)

Fun (and slightly random)

Here’s what I wore Monday March 21. How fun is this outfit? I love it when outfits like this one just naturally comes together; everything is slightly randomly put together, but it ends up working in the end.

(Sweatshirt – Bershka, trousers – H&M, boots – Zara)

Feelunique haul (17% off – except Natasha Denona)

Back in early December Feelunique had a 17% off sale, so I decided to get a few Morphe products I’d been wanting for a while. I also decided to get something from Natasha Denona, even though Natasha Denona wasn’t a part of the sale.

The Natasha Denona Glam face palettes was released around this time, and I really liked the concept, so I picked up the Light version. It comes with a cream blush, and star glow highlighter (new formula), and five neutral eyeshadows. As I’ve mentioned before, ND makes great neutral eyeshadows, and the blush and highlighter are super pretty, so this is a great face palette.

Coca Cola is my favourite soft drink, and I’d been wanting to get this Coca-Cola X Morphe Awe Together artistry palette for quite a while. However, the colour story is not my favourite, and some of the shades are a bit underwhelming. But it’s cute nonetheless.

The main reason to make this order was to get some products from the Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold collection. I’ve probably mentioned it a million times before, but I love everything Disney, and this Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold artistry palette is just so fun. I really like the colourful colour story, and I’ve liked the looks I’ve created with it so far.

I also picked up the Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold mega matte lipstick trio. It comes with the shades Bow Babe (nude), Oh Boy (red), and Goody Goody (pink). They’re very matte and very pigmented, and I love the Mickey & Friends faces on the actual lipstick part. So cute!

The last item I got was the Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold 6-piece brush set. It comes in a cute tin, and the brushes themselves are super cute. I usually really like Morphe brushes, and these are no exception.

Most used pastels

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Another product I haven’t hauled yet, but that I’ve been loving is the Natasha Denona Pastel palette (I did feature it in my 5 favourites post from March). I think this is the first look I created with it, and it has quickly become one of my most used Natasha Denona palettes.

Far from the first time

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The quality of the make-up pictures I took that day is not great (especially not on the second one), but it’s far from the first time I’ve posted a blue eye look, so I think it’ll be okay.

(Base: primers – Tarte Timeless Smoothing primer + I Heart Revolution x Elf collection primer, foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – Rimmel The Multi-Tasker concealer (shade: 020 Fair) + NYX Born To Glow radiant concealer (shade: Pale), powders – Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana + Dior Backstage Face & Body Powder-No-Powder in 0 Neutral. Face make-up: bronzer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty bronzer in Tan Lines, blusher – e.l.f. No lilac

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. For once I didn’t go for lilac make-up even though it was a perfect opportunity, but instead I went for a muted green and neutral look.

(Base: primer – NYX The Marshmellow primer, foundation – L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain), concealer – Rimmel The Multi-Tasker concealer (shade: 020 Fair), powders – e.l.f. Sage green and lilac

Here’s what I wore Tuesday March 15. I really like this sage green and lilac colour combo. I think those two colours look so pretty together.

(Blazer + roll neck top + skirt – Monki, tights – Asos, sneakers – Nike)
