It’s the last day of November which means that it’s the first day of December tomorrow! December is my favourite month; the only thing I don’t like about it is the cold weather. I love everything Christmassy though, so I’m really excited about December:) But first, here’s 5 favourites from November.
Neck warmer: This is definitely not the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the world, but it’s warm and practical and that’s my top priorities for outerwear in the autumn and winter time.
MAC Heirloom Mix Miniralize blusher in Modest Blush: As I wrote the other day in my post about the MAC Holiday collections I’m really satisfied with the products I bought. The product I’ve been wearing the most is the blusher. I’ve worn it every day but one since I bought it. It simply is the perfect everyday blusher.
The Hunger Games films: I’d heard a lot about The Hunger Games, especially the films, but I didn’t get to watch them until this month and as it turns out, I really like them. The first one is definitely my favourite but I like Catching Fire and Mockingjay – Part 1 as well. And of course I have to watch the last one when it comes out.
The Vampire Diaries – season 3: I finally got around to watch the third season of The Vampire Diaries and just as the previous two seasons, I loved it. I can’t wait to watch the next seasons.
Imaginary Enemy (album) – The Used: My favourite album of the month is the newest one by The Used. I’ve have listened to The Used’s music for years, and I was happy to discover how great an album Imaginary Enemy is. I think the songs are very catchy and I love Bert McCracken’s voice. Here you can listen to the first single from the album which is one of my favourites.
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love how this make-up look turned out. As I mentioned in the outfit post, I decided to base my eye make-up around the colours in the sweater I was wearing. I actually don’t wear golden eye make-up looks very often, but I really like it, so maybe I should:) It’s very appropriate for Christmas parties as well. So is the lipstick. I’m wearing the matte Kate lipstick from this post, and it’s the perfect deep red shade. Love it!
(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – MUA Ever After matte eye shadow palette (shade: Fade) + Stila In the Light eye shadow palette (shades: Gilded Gold + Bubbly + Bare), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Max Factor Colour Perfection eyeliner in Brown 30 + MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White. Lipstick: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate matte lipstick in 107)
Here’s what I wore Wednesday October 22. I really like this sweater and I think it looks great paired with the skirt. The sweater has gold shimmer/glitter in it, so I decided to wear gold jewellery with the outfit. I also decided to base my eye make-up around the colours from the sweater, but you’ll a closer look at that tomorrow.
(Skirt – New Look, sweater – H&M, booties – Monki)
Here’s the make-up I wore Tuesday October 21. I wasn’t going anywhere that day, so I had some extra time to play around with make-up and this is the look I came up with. I’ve played around with magenta eye shadows before (e.g. here) and I just love that type of colours. Actually, when it comes to make up (and many other things) I really love pink and purple and everything in between.
(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Sleek Vintage Romance eye shadow palette (shades: Marry in Monte Carlo + Honeymoon in Hollywood + A Vow in Venice) + Stila In the Light eye shadow palette (shades: Bliss + Ebony) + Stila All Over Shimmer Duo highlighter (lightest shade on browbone), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White. Lipstick: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate matte lipstick in 105)
If you like MAC you have probably already seen a ton of hauls and reviews on this year’s holiday collections, but I thought I would show you what I’ve purchased from the collections anyways. When I went online to check out the collections I decided to get a product from each collection (Keepsakes and Heirloom Mix). The Objects of Affection sets weren’t in store at the time. Later on I bought one more product from the Heirloom Mix collection in one of my local MAC stores.
First I decided to get one of the limited edition holiday eye shadow palettes. I got the Keepsakes Plum Eyes palette, and the colours are beautiful (you can see the names of the colours here). And can we talk about the packaging for a minute. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous; the glitter, the pearls around the edges, and the Victorian style emblem. So pretty!
Of course I had to get my hands on one of the lipsticks from the Heirloom Mix collection, and when I saw there was a hot pink shade, I knew which one I wanted. It’s a limited edition shade, and it’s called No Faux Pas and has a matte finish. This shade is amazing! Because of the matte finish (which looks gorgeous on the lips by the way) it literally lasts all day on the lips. And the packaging of this collection is just as gorgeous as the packaging on the Keepsakes Collection (and Objects of Affection). It reminds me of a starry night.
A few days after I received the package with the two other products I went to check out the rest of the collection (in real life) in one of my local MAC stores. I had regretted not to buy one of the miniralize blushers, and when I swatched this one in store I couldn’t resist. It’s the one called Modest Blush and it’s the most perfect everyday blush shade. It goes with any make-up look, and because it’s a miniralize blusher it has a bit of shimmer in it which is really pretty; not to much at all. I’m really satisfied with these products and I wish I had all the products from the collections:)
Here’s the make-up I wore Friday October 10. I didn’t bother taking outfit pictures that day, because my outfit was similar to some outfits I’ve posted earlier on. I really liked my make-up though, and thought I would share it with you. I’ve actually been wearing a taupe eye make-up like this one quite a lot lately. It’s still a neutral eye make-up, though a bit more intense than my go-to neutral eye look, but you can still wear it with a lot of different lip colours. Here I decided to go with a neutral pink lip.
Here’s how I wore my hair with this outfit. The hair twisted around the hair elastics only stayed that way for a few hours which was a shame, because I quite liked it. I guess my hair is too straight and smooth to stay in place all day.
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s similar to a few of the other make-up looks I’ve posted on the blog, but I just LOVE hot pink lips! Especially paired with a simple and neutral eye make-up. This hot pink is the MUA Luxe Velvet lip lacquer in Funk.
Here’s what I wore Thursday October 9. I love this outfit. It’s casual girly, and those type of outfits are my favourite everyday outfits. I love mixing different textures and putting together nice colour combinations (at least they’re nice in my opinion).
(Bomber – Monki, skirt + shirt – H&M, necklace – Gina Tricot, creepers – The Fabulous Creepers)
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s a bit Christmassy, don’t you think? Anyways, I love Christmas and I love this make-up look.
(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Rimmel Glam’eyes eye shadow quad in 001 Smokey Noir (minus the black eye shadow), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Maybelline Color Tattoo in Immortal Charcoal (55) + MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White. Lipstick: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 040 Red Velvet)
