5 favourites – June

I can’t believe that the first summer month has already gone by, but at least we’ve had some lovely summer weather lately. My summer holiday officially begins in a few days, and I so excited to get some time off. Other than being a great month weatherwise, June was also a great month when it comes to favourites. I have so many favourites this month, and it was really difficult to narrow them down to just five, but these are my picks.

H&M x Lee denim jacket: I don’t think I’ve hauled this denim jacket yet (and there are more items in this post that I haven’t hauled yet, because I’m so behind on hauls), but this has been my go-to jacket this past month. I’ve worn is several days a week, and it’s just such a good length/fit and wash.

Multicoloured Teva sandals: I haven’t hauled these sandals yet either, but they’re a more recent purchase. I needed a pair of comfortable flat sandals that I could actually walk in, and I’d heard that Teva sandals were really comfortable, and they are. I’ve worn these almost daily since I got them a couple of weeks ago, and they might not be the prettiest sandals, but I don’t care. Comfort wins in this case. And I do think that they’re kind of cute with the different coloured straps.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze: And here’s yet another product I haven’t hauled yet, but which I enjoy so much that I had to feature it. In my May favourites, I featured a soapy brow styler from Essence, and I do still really like that product, but the ABH Brow Freeze is better. It might be a pretty pricey product, but a little product goes a long way, and it’s so convenient and easy to use, and it makes the brows look great, so I think it’s worth it.

Luca (film): I watched two new Disney films this month; Raya and the Last Dragon and Luca. Even though I liked Raya and the Last Dragon, Luca is the one that stole my heart. I didn’t really have any expectations to the film, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it actually was. It’s the perfect summer animated film.

Zitti E Buoni – Måneskin (song): I’ve expressed my love for Eurovision several times, so I was excited to watch the contest this year after the break last year do to the pandemic. There were more than one entry I would be happy to see win the contest (Iceland and Switzerland were among my favourites), but Måneskin from Italy were the perfect winners. I love their winning song and their sound and look in general, so much so that I purchased their album Teatro d’ira: Vol. I, which is great too. As a Dane, I also enjoy that their band name is the danish word for moonlight.

Huge Asos haul part 1

I have a huge two part Asos haul to share with you. This first part is clothes, shoes and a bag. The second part is jewellery and hair accessories.

When we get closer to Christmas, I’ll be posting my annual Christmas clothing haul with pieces that are new this season. However, I’ve also purchased a few Christmas jumpers, or in this case sweashirts, from last year on sale. The first one is from Monki and has a very dainty silver embroidered Christmas tree on it. The other two are both from Asos’ men’s department, and you know I can’t resist a Disney print, and I love Home Alone; it’s such a classic Christmas film.

Fitted roll neck tops are stables in my wardrobe, and since I’m obsessed with everything purple, I thought I would add this lilac one from Stradivarius to my ever growing roll neck top collection.

And now on to a couple of graphic T-shirts with two musical artists that I love. The Fleetwood Mac T-shirt is from Asos’ own brand, and the Whitney Houston T-shirt is from Daisy Street.

One of my other obsessions, besides everything purple, is corduroy. Corduroy trousers have been my go-tos for autumn and winter for the past 3 years or so, and I want them in all colours. For now I’ve added this pair of steel blue ones from Weekday.

I couldn’t resist these dino socks, and they came with light blue pair as well. They’re from Asos’ own brand.

I’ve also purchased three pairs of shoes. Three very different pairs of shoes. It’s finally boot season, and I really liked the zebra print hiker style boots (from Asos’ own brand). The platform loafers are from Raid, and they’re very Gucci like and perfect for ’70s inspired looks. And the last pair is just some super pretty fuchsia pink velvet heels also from Asos’ own brand.

Last, but not least, the prettiest belt bag ever. The picture doesn’t do it justice, because this belt bag from Skinnydip has the most amazing holographic rhinestones all over the front of the bag, and I love it.

5 favourites – August

Summer is over by tomorrow (calendar-wise), and autumn will arrive. The weather has been more autumnal this past week, though it looks like it’s going to be slightly warmer again this week. I’m excited about the weather getting colder though and dressing for autumn. I’m also excited about the fact that we’re getting closer to December, which is my favourite month:) But for now, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from August.

Lilac strappy heels: I know, I haven’t even gotten around to hauling these shoes yet, but I’ve worn them a lot throughout August, so I had to feature them in this post. They’re from H&M, and they’re the perfect strappy heels. And the colour is amazing! I’ve been obsessed with everything purple lately.

Wet n Wild Prime Focus Primer Serum: I’ve been loving a more glowy make-up look lately, and I’m going to feature two of my favourite products to achieve that look. The first one is this primer serum which feels very hydrating on the skin, and it gives your skin a nice and subtle glow. It’s very affordable too.

MAC Fix+ Magic Radiance: MAC Fix+ is one of my holy grail products. I use it every time I wear make-up in some version or other, so I’m always up for trying a new one. The Magic Radiance version is very hydrating and gives your skin a nice, subtle glow (I feel like I’m repeating myself. Wait, I am). I really enjoy this product.

Lipton Vanilla & Caramel black tea: I love everything vanilla scented or flavoured and the same goes for caramel, so when my boyfriend introduced me to this tea, I had a strong feeling that I would love it, and I do. I’m actually drinking a cup of it as I’m writing this.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (film): I’m a huge Eurovision fan, so I was so excited to watch this Netflix orignal film. It was obviously a comedy, but the music was so good; way better than I expected. And it was incredible seeing so many former Eurovision contestants; even my favourite winner of all time, Salvador Sobral, was featured. If you like Eurovision or just great music and comedy this is a must watch.

5 favourites – January

The first month of the new decade will be over by tomorrow, which means that it’s time for the first favourites post of the year/decade. In contrast to many other people, I’ve not had the January blues. I’ve mainly been working, but I’m not as busy as I was in the autumn. All in all, I’m very happy and inspired. I’ve loved lots of things this past month, but I’ve narrowed it down to the following 5 favourites.

Hvide Air Force 1 Sage m. blå, orange og mint detaljer - Nike

Nike Air Force 1 Sage sneakers: I hauled these in the beginning of October last year, but I never got to wear them much until this month. I think they’re really cool and super comfortable, and I’ve had a lot of fun styling them.

DSC_9385

Mickey Mouse ring: This little Mickey Mouse ring was a Christmas present from my parents, and I’ve worn it almost every day since Christmas. It’s definitely become one of my go-to rings.

H&M neglelak (Space Jam)

Pink/bronze glitter nail polish: This is one of the prettiest nail colours I’ve ever seen. It’s from H&M and it’s called Space Jam, and I’m pretty sure my sister has one as well that I borrowed from her last summer. I remember loving the colour, so I’m really happy that I found it in a H&M store, and it was even on sale.

Rocketman

Rocketman (film): I’ve been wanting to watch this film since it released, and man, it was good! The music and costumes were obviously incredible, and Taron Egerton did an amazing job playing Elton John. This is a must-watch film.

Half Way There – Busted (album): This is another Christmas present favourite. I’m a huge Busted fan, and this album is just plain great. I think I like this album better than the previous one, Night Driver (even though I do love a lot of the songs on that album too). It sounds like a mix of the old and the new Busted sounds, and I love that! The song that probably stands out the most from the rest on the album is All My friends, which also happens to be one of my favourites. You can check it out above.

5 favourites – November

Finally! December is only one day away, and I’m so excited. November was a really tough month for me, but I’ve decorated my apartment and I’ve already worn festive jumpers for a week now, so the next month can only get better. But first, let’s talk about some November favourites.

Brun ruskindsfrakke m. faux fur for - second hand

Brown second hand coat: This coat was a part of my latest second hand haul. I wrote then that it was probably my favourite piece in the haul, and it sure is my most worn piece. It’s got ’70s vibes and it’s warm, and that’s all I want in a coat.

DSC_8948

Essence The Highlighter (shade: 10 Heroic): I posted an Essence haul recently, and I love all the products in that haul, but this highlighter has been my favourite product. It’s such a beautiful highlighter, and I can’t believe how affordable it is.

DSC_8975

The Body Shop Peppermint Candy Cane body butter: Last year in my December favourites, I featured the Peppermint Candy Cane shower gel from The Body Shop. I loved that scent so much, and I was really lucky to get my hands on the body butter in the same scent recently. It’s too bad that it’s not a permanent scent, because it smells incredible (if you like the scent of peppermint and candy canes).

thesims4getfamous

The Sims 4 Get Famous (computer game): I got this The Sims 4 expansion pack for my birthday in August, but I hadn’t played the Sims in months, because I needed a new computer. But now that I’ve finally purchased a new computer, I’ve been playing the Sims again, and I’ve really enjoyed it in general, but I’ve especially enjoyed exploring this expansion pack.

Home for Christmas – ‘NSYNC (album): Last month I featured a old, classic Christmas album, and I’m still listening to that, but this month I’ve really been loving the ‘NSYNC Christmas album, which is actually not that new either now that I think about it. There are so many great songs on this album; ‘NSYNC does the best version of O Holy Night, but some of my most recent favourites include Home for Christmas and The Only Gift.

5 favourites – October

It’s halloween today, which means that October will be over by tomorrow, which means that there’s only one more month left before December! But who I’m a kidding, I’ve been christmassing since the beginning of September. I even have a Christmas favourite this month, so let’s talk about those favourites.

Hvide sneakers m. Anders And - MOA (Master of Arts)

MOA Donald Duck sneakers: I’ve had these sneakers for a while now, and I’ve worn them the other months too, but for some reason they have been my go-to sneakers this past month. I guess they have just been working well with a lot of my outfits from October.

DSC_7264

Maybelline City bronzer (shade: 100 Light Cool): I wasn’t sure I liked this bronzer at first, but the more I use the more I like it. It has a yellow undertone, which suprisingly looks great with a lot of make-up looks.

DSC_5346

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin: I’ve had this lipstick for a long time, and it’s been my favourite nude lipstick ever since I bought it, but I’ve reached for it so many times this past month that I had to mention it. It’s the perfect nude in my opinion.

DSC_9044

Essence This Is Me gel nail polish (shade: 03 Bold): I have an Essence haul coming up, but I couldn’t wait to share this nail polish with you. I love Essence’s nail polishes in general, and this is the most beautiful dark nude shade.

Christmas Songs – Frank Sinatra (album): I couldn’t choose just one Christmas song that has been my favourite this past month, but my favourite Christmas album has been this Frank Sinatra one. I’m a huge fan of old, classic Christmas songs, so it’s no wonder that I enjoy these Sinatra songs. I decided to feature the song ‘Christmas Dreaming’, which pretty much sums up my life right now:)

5 favourites – September

The first month of autumn is now over, which means that we’re one month closer to December:) Work is super busy these days, but the autumn break is just around the corner, and I can’t wait! But first, here are some of my favourite things from the past month.

Rød quilted jakke m. blomstermønster og fløjlskrave - Monki

Red quilted jacket: In my May favourites, I featured the navy version of this jacket, and this red one has definitely become a favourite as well. I just love the quilted fabric, the shape of the jacket, and the corduroy details.

Beige baggy bukser m. lynlåse - second hand

Beige baggy trousers: I bought these trousers second hand about a year ago, and I’ve definitely worn them throughout the year, but this month I seem to have worn them quite a bit. They’re a part of one of my favourite outfits I’ve worn this year (which I’ll post soon), so I think it was about time that I’d feature them in a favourites post.

Hårbøjler

Headbands: I’m a huge fan of hair accessories, and my favourite kind this past month has been the headband. This is just a selection of the ones I’ve worn, and I have a feeling that I’ll continue to wear them for a while.

DSC_7867

Wet n Wild Photofocus pressed powder (shade: Warm Light): I often go for a translucent powder, but I’ve really enjoyed using this coloured powder from Wet n Wild. It’s great for days where I’ve have lots of break-outs, because it provides more coverage than a translucent powder (obviously), but it’s not heavy or cakey on the skin.

Elton John plade

The Very Best of Elton John (record): I found some great records at a fleamarket this summer, among those this Elton John one. It contains two double sided records, and they’re filled with classic Elton John songs. It’s been my go-to record this past month.

5 favourites – April

April has come to an end, and we’ve finally experienced some warmer weather here in Denmark (though it is getting a bit colder again in a few days). I’ve been busy at work in April, but thankfully there was a holiday in the middle of the month. I had a lot of favourites in April, and these are my top 5.

Blå denim overalls - Monki

Denim overalls: I’d been wanting a pair of denim overalls for ages, and these Monki ones are exactly what I’d been looking for. I’ve worn them so much this past month; they’re just so comfy.

DSC_6865

Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation (shade: Soft Ivory): I did a first impressions post on this foundation in March, and the more I’ve worn it the more I’ve liked it. The coverage is really good, and the staying power is great.

DSC_6872

Revolution Conceal & Define concealer (shade: C2): I did a first impressions post on this concealer just last week (though I tested it and wrote down my first impressions in the beginning of April), and it has been my most used concealer this past month. I really enjoy the formula and the finish of this product.

avengers endgame

Avengers: Endgame (film): As the MCU fan that I am, I was really excited about this film, and it did not disappoint. It didn’t feel like a three hour long film, which definitely shows that it was entertaining all the way through. I can’t wait to re-watch this one day.

Paris, Lisboa – Salvador Sobral (album): I’ve featured Salvador Sobral’s music in several 5 favourites posts before, and in the end of March he came out with his second studio album. It’s such a beautiful album; I’ve been listening to it on repeat this past month, and I’ll probably continue to do so for quite a while still.

5 favourites – March

The first month of spring will be over by tomorrow, and even though we’ve had a few sunny days in Denmark this past week, I’m still longing for more consistent spring weather. Anyhow, I feel that my appearance has been more springlike, since I’m very into bright colours at the moment (both in clothes and make-up), and that will show through a couple of my favourites from the month of March.

Regnbuestribet dynejakke - Daisy Street

Rainbow stripe puffer jacket: It’s still too cold to wear a light jacket, but at least this puffer jacket feels a bit springlike with the rainbow stripes.

dsc_6758

Juvia’s Place The Magic Mini eyeshadow palette: I’m obsessed with this eyeshadow palette! The quality and pigmentation of these eyeshadows are incredible, and the colours are beautiful. If you like colourful eyeshadows this palette is a must have.

Essence Satin Touch blush

Essence Satin Touch blush (shade: 20 Satin Love): I’ve had this blusher for a couple of years now, and I can’t believe that I’ve never featured it in a 5 favourites post. It’s one of my absolute favourite blushers; the nude colour goes with any make-up look, the pigmentation is great, and the satin finish is gorgeous. And it’s extremely affordable!

DSC_7228

The Shine Brush by Wet Brush: When I got my hair cut earlier this month, I purchased the original Wet Brush plus the Shine Brush. I’ve loved both of them, but especially the Shine Brush which is perfect for dry hair. If you like me are hard on the your hair when you brush it, try out this brush. It prevents you from damaging your hair from brushing it too hard.

Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt (band): I love listening to a lot of different music, and I have a soft spot for older music. For the past couple of months (but especially the past month), I’ve been listening to this Danish duo who made great music from the late ’70s to the mid ’80s (the have reunited since, but I’ve been listening to their first three records) on repeat. The song above was the first song I ever listened to by Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt, and I’ve been listening to it for years and years. It’s one of my favourites, but to be honest most of their songs are my favourites.

5 favourites – January

The first month of 2019 is now over, and I can sum it up in two words: work and freezing. Yes, pretty much all I did this month was work (and get a lot of use out of a couple of my Christmas presents which is featured in this favourites post), and it’s been freezing cold outside in Denmark (it actually snowed quite a bit today). I only have six more work days and then I have a week off, so I’m really looking forward to that. But anyways, let’s talk about some favourites.

DSC_6420

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgyny eye shadow palette: It’s no secret that I love Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and even though this was Jeffree’s second palette release, I didn’t buy it until recently. I’m so glad I finally did though, because I love this palette. The colours are stunning, and the pigmentation is fantastic. I can’t wait to create more gorgeous eye looks with this palette.

dsc_6740

Milani Strobe Light Instant Glow Powder (shade: Afterglow): I have another make-up favourite this month, and it’s this gorgeous highlighter. The shade is perfect, and the pigmentation is perfect. It has been my go-to highlighter the past couple of weeks, and I’ll definitely continue to use this.

natkingcole

A Portrait of Nat King Cole (album): I love Nat King Cole. He’s my favourite jazz musician/crooner. My favourite record is a Nat King Cole one, and this CD which I found at a second hand store between Christmas and New Year’s is also a favourite of mine. I’ve been listening to this CD on repeat this past month, and I’ll probably continue to do so.

thesims4seasons

The Sims 4 Seasons (computer game): I finally got this expansion pack (I got it for Christmas), so I’ve been playing The Sims 4 whenever I had the time. I’ve been playing The Sims games for the past 15 years or so, and I still absolutely love it.

chromecast

Google Chromecast: I don’t have any TV channels, so until this month I’ve been watching Netflix on my iPad, which is fine, but it’s nice to finally be able to watch TV series and films on a slightly bigger screen. I’ve also enjoyed watching YouTube videos on my TV though I still mostly watch those on my iPad (my iPad is my portable TV).
