5 favourites – December

Another year has come to an end and I really can’t believe it. I had a lovely and relaxing Christmas, and I’m looking forward to see what 2017 will bring me. I hope you all have a wonderful night tonight; be safe and take care of each other. Let’s say proper goodbye to 2016 with some December favourites.

Christmas jumpers: My favourite clothing items this December has been my Christmas jumpers. I’ve been wearing them 3-4 times a week (and everyday the week leading up to Christmas) and I’ve been feeling very festive.

MAC powder blush in Desert Rose: During winter I love wearing deeper blushers, because it looks very pretty and fresh on pale skin, and this MAC one has been my go-to.

Rimmel 60 seconds Super Shine nail polish (shade: 514 When I Grow Up): This past year I’ve worn mainly neutral shades on my nails, and this taupe bronze colour is stunning. I wore it for two weeks straight in the beginning of December.

the-christmasaurus

The Christmasaurus – Tom Fletcher: I had this book on my wishlist for Christmas, but I already got it on my gift advent calendar in the beginning of December. I finished reading it a few days ago and I loved it. Even though it’s a children’s novel it’s such a lovely Christmas story.

The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot – Nat King Cole: My favourite Christmas song this year is a new discovery (though it’s an old song). It’s one of the saddest Christmas songs I’ve ever heard, but also one of the most beautiful ones.

MAC Mariah Carey

dsc_1467

Like many other MAC enthusiasts I was really excited about the MAC Mariah Carey collection, and I decided to get two lipsticks and a blusher. As you can see the packaging is absolutely gorgeous; the silver glitter with the pale gold is just beautiful.

dsc_1469

The blusher I picked up is You’ve Got Me Feeling which is a light candy pink. I chose this one because I don’t really have any bright pink blushers.

dsc_1471

I picked up two of the lipsticks because look at that packaging! All the shades in this collection are very neutral which is normally not something I go for, but that’s exactly why I thought it would be fun to try out a couple of shades.

dsc_1473

The first shade I got is Dahhlinggg which is a light peachy pink shade. I decided to get this shade because I have nothing like it in my collection. It’s my first Cremesheen finish lipstick from MAC, and I haven’t worn it yet, so I’m excited to see how pigmented or sheer it is on the lips.

The second lipstick I got is All I Want which is a champagne shimmer. I got this partly because of the name, but also because I’ve been loving frosty/metallic lips lately. I have worn this lipstick once so far and I actually really liked it. It’s a bit sheer so I wore a lipliner underneath. I think it would be a beautiful lip topper as well.

Here’s what I wore on Christmas Eve. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year. I sure had a lovely and quiet Christmas with my family which is what I prefer.

Matching black and beige

dsc_1227dsc_1228

Here’s what I wore Wednesday November 9. The Danish winter weather has been quite warm this year so far, so I’ve only worn my winter boots a few times. They are not the prettiest shoes in the world and they are pretty hard to style, so I decided to go with matching black and beige.

Monki (+ H&M) haul

I’ve done quite a bit of clothes shopping lately (I’ve already shown you some Christmas jumpers and party clothes). I didn’t go on one big shopping spree, so I’ll be doing several hauls. All of the items above are from Monki, apart from the pink sweater which is from H&M. Monki is one of my absolute favourite brands, and I really like these pieces. Jeans are something I always forget to buy probably because they’re wardrobe stables, but on this shopping trip a bought a pair of blue high waisted skinny jeans. I’ve been looking at overall skirts before, but I’d never found one that fit properly until I found this Monki one. I’m actually wearing it here with a jumper on top, but I do have a couple of outfits waiting to be posted where you can see the overall part. I’m absolutely loving the two sweaters. They’re a quite similar in style; they both have high necks and are a bit oversize. And they are so comfortable, especially the grey one. I’m also loving the velvet bomber cardigan (that’s what I’ve decided to call it). Velvet is everywhere at the moment, and I really don’t mind.

LBD, maroon & gold

dsc_1218dsc_1219

Here’s what I wore Saturday November 5. I went to my grandfather’s 80th birthday party that day and I decided to wear a little black dress with maroon and gold accessories. I don’t have any close-ups of my make-up, but I wore Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Unicorn Blood on my lips.

Deeper red

dsc_1612dsc_1617

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s pretty similar to this look, but I’m wearing a deeper red lip here and I think the shade is very christmassy.

(Base: primers – Benefit the POREfessional face primer + L’Oréal Lumi Magique Pure Light primer, foundation – L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion dewy glow foundation (shade: 01 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15), powders – NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (shades: Soft Light + Cream) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – Benefit Hoola bronzer, blusher – MAC Desert Rose powder blush, highlighter – MAC Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Tutu. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette (shades: Foxy + Tease + Snakebite + Suspect) + MAC Nylon eye shadow + Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shade: Sand) on browbone, mascara – MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: Urban Decay Gwen Stefani 24/7 Glide On lip pencil in 714 + Maybelline Colorsensational Matte lipstick in 970 Daring Ruby)

Merry and bright

Here’s what I wore two days ago (Friday December 16). This might be my favourite christmassy outfit so far. I think the jumper is so cute and festive, and I think it looks really nice paired with black slacks.
