5 favourites – June

I can’t believe that the first summer month has already gone by, but at least we’ve had some lovely summer weather lately. My summer holiday officially begins in a few days, and I so excited to get some time off. Other than being a great month weatherwise, June was also a great month when it comes to favourites. I have so many favourites this month, and it was really difficult to narrow them down to just five, but these are my picks.

H&M x Lee denim jacket: I don’t think I’ve hauled this denim jacket yet (and there are more items in this post that I haven’t hauled yet, because I’m so behind on hauls), but this has been my go-to jacket this past month. I’ve worn is several days a week, and it’s just such a good length/fit and wash.

Multicoloured Teva sandals: I haven’t hauled these sandals yet either, but they’re a more recent purchase. I needed a pair of comfortable flat sandals that I could actually walk in, and I’d heard that Teva sandals were really comfortable, and they are. I’ve worn these almost daily since I got them a couple of weeks ago, and they might not be the prettiest sandals, but I don’t care. Comfort wins in this case. And I do think that they’re kind of cute with the different coloured straps.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze: And here’s yet another product I haven’t hauled yet, but which I enjoy so much that I had to feature it. In my May favourites, I featured a soapy brow styler from Essence, and I do still really like that product, but the ABH Brow Freeze is better. It might be a pretty pricey product, but a little product goes a long way, and it’s so convenient and easy to use, and it makes the brows look great, so I think it’s worth it.

Luca (film): I watched two new Disney films this month; Raya and the Last Dragon and Luca. Even though I liked Raya and the Last Dragon, Luca is the one that stole my heart. I didn’t really have any expectations to the film, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it actually was. It’s the perfect summer animated film.

Zitti E Buoni – Måneskin (song): I’ve expressed my love for Eurovision several times, so I was excited to watch the contest this year after the break last year do to the pandemic. There were more than one entry I would be happy to see win the contest (Iceland and Switzerland were among my favourites), but Måneskin from Italy were the perfect winners. I love their winning song and their sound and look in general, so much so that I purchased their album Teatro d’ira: Vol. I, which is great too. As a Dane, I also enjoy that their band name is the danish word for moonlight.

Rather large collective Monki haul

It’s time for a rather large collective Monki haul. There are a lot of great pieces in this haul that I’m really excited about.

First off, I have a couple of co-ords to show you. I love a good co-ord or matching set, and this blue and white checked denim one is so cute. The jeans are wide leg and slightly cropped, which I love, and the jacket is cropped, which is not my go-to style of jacket, but it’s perfect with the jeans.

I think my heart skipped a beat, when I first saw this amazing floral co-ord. The floral pattern is so beautiful and bold, and I love the colours! I’ve worn this co-ord a couple of times already, and I loved wearing it.

I’ve purchased two more blazers (as if I don’t have enough blazers already). I’d been looking at the pink corduroy blazer for a while and decided to get it, when I found it on sale. The beige checked blazer is one of my newest purchases in this haul, and it was also on sale.

The last two tops in this haul are a white balloon sleeve button up shirt and a plain green T-shirt. A white button up shirt is a classic piece, and I really liked the subtle details on this one. And I already have a few other solid coloured plain T-shirts from Monki that I really like, so I decided to add this green one to my collection. These T-shirts are so soft.

The last pair of trousers in this haul are these purple stretchy corduroy/velvet cropped trousers. I’ve just been wearing these at home as loungewear, and they’re really comfy.

I’ve purchased four summer dresses, and I’ve already worn three of them. The dress I haven’t worn yet is the first one, which is in the same print as the floral co-ord set, as you can see. It’s so pretty, and I think I’m going to wear it for a special occasion in August. The blue floral dress is similar style wise to the first dress, and I wore the blue one to a graduation celebration two days ago. The white floral dress which is a button up shirt style of dress is the dress I’ve gotten the most wear out of so far. It’s the most comfy, flowy summer dress. The only drawback about this dress is that it shrunk after being washed. I can still wear it, because it’s a loose fitting dress, but I did like it better when it was a bit longer and less fitted. The last dress is a different style to the others, but I really like that one as well. The fabric is a little sheer, but I’ve just worn a white bra and white biker shorts underneath.

Monki makes very cute socks, and these are the two newest pairs in my wardrobe; a light green and white pair with flowers and a lilac pair with ruffles.

And last, but not least, I have purchased three pairs of shoes from Monki, and I love all of them. In a March Zalando haul, I featured a pair of denim boots from Monki, which I also featured in my May 5 favourites, and I love those denim boots so much that I decided to get a pair of denim mules for summer. I also got a pair of cow print mules, which are so cute and comfortable. And the last pair of shoes is a recent purchase. When Monki started showing these black chunky Mary Janes on the models on their website, I started keeping an eye out for them. When they initially went up on the website they were immediatly sold out in my size, but I kept checking the website the following days, and a couple of days later they were back in my size, and I was one happy girl.

Unexpected colour combo

Small Beauty Bay haul (mid-march)

I have a small Beauty Bay haul to share with you today. These are products I purchased in mid-March. I purchased two eyeshadow palettes (they were both on sale), a blush palette, and a highlighter. I also got a free gift with purchase, which I’ll show at the end of the haul.

I picked up my first Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palette. I’ve heard good things about these palettes for so many years now, so when Beauty Bay had a nice offer on ABH products, I deciced to pick up the Norvina palette. I’ve purchased so much make-up i 2021, so I’ve actually only used this palette once so far, but the look I did turned out very pretty, and I’m excited to create some more looks with this palette soon (hopefully).

The other eyeshadow palette I purchased is the Sigma Beauty Untamed palette. I’d also heard great things about the Sigma Beauty shadow formula, and so far I’m pretty impressed. However, I’ve also only done one look with this palette so far, but I’m looking forward to be using it again.

I’d been wanting to try the BH Cosmetics blushers for a while, so I decided to pick up the BH Cosmetics Truffle Blush palette in Chocolate Cherry, since it has a good variety of shades. I’ve used the two shades on the left side of the palette so far, and they were very pigmented, but they blend out nicely.

The last item I paid for myself is the NABLA Skin Glazing in the shade Ozone. It’s a beautiful highlighter, and I really need to wear it again soon!

The free gift I received with this haul was the Sample Beauty The Painter’s palette. It’s an almost all matte palette except for three metallic shades in shades of metals (gold, silver, and copper). As you can see this palette comes with pretty much all the matte shades you could need to create any type of eye look. When I tried this palette, I did create a look using only matte shades and only this palette just to see if it could be done, and it definitely can, but I think that I would probably more often bring in a second palette to pair with this one to add some shimmers that are not gold, silver, or copper.

First sunrise

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wore the Natasha Denona Sunrise palette for the first time, and I love how this look turned out. The shadows are so pigmented and blendable.

Poreless Putty Primer, foundation – Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation (shade: Soft Ivory), concealer – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying powder in 021 Transparent. Face make-up: bronzer – Ofra Cosmetics x Samantha March River bronzer duo, blusher – MAC Desert Rose powder blush, highlighter – Ofra Cosmetics x Steph Toms Milk & Cookies highlighter. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 05 Granny Pants + Natasha Denona Sunrise palette (shades: Jasper + Clove + Poppy + Azalea) + MAC Nylon eyeshadow, mascara – L’Oréal Air Volume Mega mascara, eyeliner – Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon (shade: Fine(Wine)). Eyebrows: Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown + e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: Jeffree Star Velour lip liner in Calabasas + MAC Twig lipstick)

Burgundy knee high boots

Here’s what I wore Thursday March 18. I really wanted to wear those incredible burgundy knee high boots, and I took inspiration from the ’60s and ’70s when styling them up.

Neutral with a pop of blue

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. A primarily neutral look, but with a pop of blue.

The Body Shop sale haul

I have a bit of a different haul to share with you today. I purchase products from The Body Shop every once in a while, and lately I’ve been loving their Tea Tree line, so I thought I would order some products from a sale they had online a little while back.

I purchased some products from the 2020 holiday collection. I’ve already used up a Warm Vanilla shower gel, body yogurt, body scrub, and hand cream, so I purchased the Warm Vanilla Duo, which contains a body scrub, a body butter and a loofah. I also purchased the Winter Jasmine body butter and hand cream, which I haven’t tried yet, and the Festive Berry hand cream, which is my night stand hand cream at the moment.

As I mentioned, I love the Tea Tree line from The Body Shop. The Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash has become a stable in my skin care routine, so I purchased a back up. I also purchased the Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Peel-Off Mask and the Tea Tree Targeted Gel.

Lastly, I purchased a big bottle of Mango shower gel. It’s the shower gel I’ve been using lately, and it’s smells really good.
