The first month of summer will be over by tomorrow, but thankfully another will begin. I had yet another great month with memorable events. Of course I have had some favourites this month as well, and here’s five of them.
Stila All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten: I’ve been obsessed with this highlighter duo ever since I bought it, and not many days have gone by where I haven’t worn it. Everything about this product is beautiful.
EcoTools blending/smudge brush: I love both brushes from this set, but especially the blending/smudge brush. I’ve been using the blending side of the brush almost everyday this month, and the smudge side of the brush is very lovely as well.
Scissors earrings: I bought these earrings in Berlin in 2008, and I’ve always loved them and worn them often, but this month I’ve been wearing them exceptionally often. I don’t remember where I bought them, and I don’t know the brand, and I’ve never seen anything similar to these, so they’ll probably always be one of my favourite pairs of earrings.
White sunglasses with black dots from Primark: These have probably been my most worn sunglasses this month. As I’ve mentioned before, I love the retro feel to them and how gorgeous they look paired with a bright pink or red lip.
One Direction concert: I have another concert as a favourite this month, and this time it’s the One Direction concert I went to in Copenhagen with my youngest sister. If you want to read my thoughts about it, you can check out this post, but to keep it short – it was awesome!
This is what the Maybelline nail polish I mentioned in this post looks like on the nails. For some reason this type of colour always reminds me of mermaids. I’ve never really liked mermaids, but I do like this colour:)
The day I bought the Stila All Over Shimmer Duo I considered buying the Stila In the Light eye shadow palette as well, but I decided not to. At least not that particular day, because as you can see I went back and bought it a few days later, and I’m so happy I did. It’s such a gorgeous palette with both matte and shimmery shades. My favourite shade at the moment is Sunset. Besides the 10 eye shadows the palette also contains a smudge stick waterproof eyeliner in the colour Damsel. I’ll soon show you a look I did using this palette.
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing my Rimmel Apocalips in the colour 501 Stellar, and I love it. I think the colour is beautiful, and I love the lacquer finish.
(Eye make-up: eye shadows – MUA Ever After matte palette (shades: Fade + Penny + Fog) + Sleek Storm eye shadow palette (shade: Snow Storm), eyeliner – MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White, mascara – Collection Does It All 5 in 1)
Here’s what I wore Saturday May 31. I love how the right make-up and the right accessories can make an otherwise simple (and maybe boring) outfit more interesting. All the little details makes a difference.
(Jeans – Topshop, T-shirt + necklace – Gina Tricot, bracelets + earrings – Spinning, sneakers – Nike)
Here’s three more purchases from a Superdrug 3 for 2 sale. I’d been wanting to get my hands on the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold for a while, and I love it. It’s such a beautiful shimmery pink shade. I decided to get the Color Tattoo in Immortal Charcoal as well, because I thought it would be perfect for a more dramatic night time look and as a gel liner. The last product I decided to get was the Bourjois Color Boost glossy lip stain. You know how much I love the Revlon balm stains, so I thought I would get a similar product a go. This Bourjois one is called Peach on the Beach and it’s more glossy compared to the Revlon ones. The colour is very pretty and it’s long lasting on the lips, so I really like it, but it still doesn’t beat the Revlon balm stains:)
Here’s the make-up I wore Friday May 30. The eye shadows I’m wearing on my eyelids are quite similar to the ones I’m wearing here, but underneath my lower lashes I’m wearing my Collection 2000 eye shadow in the colour 11 Key Lime Pie which adds a nice pop of colour. On my lips I’m wearing my Tanya Burr lipgloss in the colour Exotic Island.
I bought this Stila All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten the same day as I bought these products, and I’m in love. You can use both shades as highlighters and eye shadows, and you can also use the darker shade as a blusher. I haven’t used any of the shades as eye shadows yet, but I’m crazy about the lightest shade as a highlighter (I’ve been wearing it almost every day since I bought it). I’ve been using the darker shade a couple of times just lightly on top of a blusher which looks really pretty. All in all I think this is a gorgeous product.
Here’s the make-up I wore Thursday May 29. The eye make-up has become one of my go-to looks. It’s a very flattering, neutral look that goes with any lip colour.
(Eye make-up: eye shadows – MUA Ever After matte palette (shades: Fade + Penny + Unwrap) + Sleek Storm eye shadow palette (shade: Snow Storm), eyeliners – Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 40 Permanent Taupe (used as gel liner) + MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White, mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express. Lipstick – Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in 320 Funtime Fuchsia)
I bought these 3 products at one of the 3 for 2 sales at Superdrug shortly before I went back to Denmark. The first thing I picked up was the Collection Does It All 5 in 1 mascara which I’d been curious about trying out for a while. I like the wand, and it looks nice on the lashes, but it’s rather difficult to remove, and it transfers to the skin after a while, so it’s not my favourite mascara. The second thing I picked up was another Revlon balm stain in the colour 005 Crush. I haven’t tried it on yet, but I’m sure I going to love it. And lastly, I picked up my first Rimmel Apocalips lip laqcuer. It’s in the colour 501 Stellar which is a gorgeous pinky red shade. I really like this product and I would love to get some more colours.
