5 favourites – December

Happy New Year! 2021 has just flown by so quickly. Once again, it was a year which was far from normal; it definitely had its ups and downs. I’m trying to accept that the virus won’t disappear for a while, and I’ll also try to get the best out of life despite of that. But on a happier note, I’ve had a lovely Christmas and Christmas holiday, and I’m excited to spend the lasts day of the year with my nearest family and my boyfriend. So let’s say goodbye to 2021 with some December favourites.

Red wool coat (H&M): This red wool coat has been my go-to outerwear throughout December. It’s just so festive and a perfect pop of colour in these dark months. I’ll definitely continue to wear it in the new year.

I Heart Revolution x Elf collection primer: As you might have noticed in my make-up posts in December, this primer has probably been my most used one. It gives the skin this beautiful, subtle golden glow, which has been perfect for all my Christmassy make-up looks.

Rimmel The Multi-Tasker concealer (shade: 020 Fair): In late November I did a first impressions post on this concealer, and my first impressions were really good. I’ve continued to use it, and I enjoy it even more now. I still don’t think that it’ll beat my L’Oréal Infaillible concealer, but it’s almost as good, and it’s nice to have some great concealer options to chose from.

BH Cosmetics Miss Claus The Lit List palette: In my 5 favourites from December last year, I featured the BH Cosmetics Naughty palette, which was from the 2020 holiday collection from BH Cosmetics. That palette has continued to be a favourite of mine, so I was super excited to try the big 2021 holiday palette from BH Cosmetics to see if it would be just as good as the Naughty palette. I can reveal that it is just as good. It’s the same great quality, and I love the colour story as well. This is also the palette I brought with me on my Christmas holiday, because it’s perfect for both Christmas and New Year’s looks.

Wavy hair: It’s been a long time since I last featured a hair style/do in a 5 favourites post, but as you might have noticed, I’ve been obsessed with wavy hair in December. I initially began to plait my hair at night after I washed it, because I hate blow drying my hair and I don’t want weird folds in my hair from my pillow. I then sleep with my hair in the plait and take it out the next morning, and my hair looks nice and wavy, which is a nice change since my hair is as straight as it comes. I don’t know if I’ll continue to do this on a regular basis, but definitely every once in a while.

Eyeshadow wings

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I almost never do a wing, but I really like how the wings turned out with this eye look. I just used a brown eyeshadow which is a lot easier than using a liquid eyeliner.

Back to summer

Here’s what I wore Thursday July 8. I’m back to posting summer outfits, and this is an outfit I wore in the beginning of my summer holiday. However, I will of course post my New Year’s Eve look in the beginning of the new year.

MAC haul – Botanic Panic + summer sale

I have a MAC haul to share with you today. This haul consists of a couple of products from the 2021 summer collection, Botanic Panic, and some summer sale items.

Let’s start with the two products I purchased from the Botanic Panic collection. I picked up the Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Fleur Sure, which is definitely a highlighter even though it comes in a smaller compact (the blush sized compact). I don’t mind though, since you almost never use up an entire highlighter. I also had to get one of the lipsticks and I chose the purple shade called Forget-Me-Naughty.

In the summer sale I picked up a back up of the Cherry Blossom scented Fix+ (this one is from the 2021 Black Cherry spring collection). I also picked up two Powder Kiss lipsticks and a Love Me lipstick.

The Powder Kiss lipsticks are in the shades Ripened and P For Potent.

And the Love Me lipstick is in the shade DGAF.

These last three products were free gifts with purchase. I can already say that I love the Magic Extension mascara, but I’ll be doing a first impressions post on it as well at some point.

I also got the Black Cherry Glow Play lip balm in Pinking of You. The Glow Play lip balms are very nice if you like coloured balms.

And the last gift I got with my order was the Lip Scrubtious in Candied Nectar. It smells delicious, and I really like the consistency as well.

First (and last) red and gold

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I think this was my first (and last) red and gold make-up look this Christmas. As much as I’ve enjoyed wearing Christmassy make-up looks, I’m also very excited to play with other colour combos and wear other kinds of make-up looks again.

Last of the year

Here’s what I wore Sunday December 26. This is going to be the last Christmas outfit I’ll post this year, and I wore it at a family Christmas party/get-together. As always I’ve loved wearing all of these Christmas looks, but now I’m also ready to wear my “regular” clothes again.

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Of course I had to wear a classic Christmas make-up look on Christmas Eve; green eyes and red lips.

Lovely Christmas Eve

Here’s what I wore on Christmas Eve. As I’ve mentioned before, we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve in Denmark, and I had such a lovely day and evening. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.

Essence 24 sparkling moments of joy

I decided to buy the Essence advent calender again this year, because it’s cute and fun and affordable. Last year’s calender included quite a few non beauty/make-up related items, which I’m not the biggest fan of, so I liked this year’s calender a lot better. Here are the items it included.

The first six items in the calendar were a luminous blush, a lip scrub, an eyeshadow base, nail jewellery stickers, a lipstick, and a mirror. I think the packaging on the items this year is super cute, and I’m especially excited to try the luminous blush.

The next six items were a brow spoolie, a mini nail primer, an I Love Extreme volume mascara, precise concealer sponges, a moisturizing hand mask, and a kajal pencil eyeliner. We got the mascara and eyeliner in last year’s calender as well, so I wish we would’ve gotten something different this year.

The second to last six items were the following: Face jewellery, eyeshadow blender (brush), mini nude nail polish, sparkle nail file, Juicy Bomb shiny lipgloss in 01 Proud Pitaya, and hair ties duo. I’m most interested in trying the lipgloss.

And the last six items in the calender were an eyeshadow shader (brush), caring lip balm, lash curler, mini fix & gloss top coat, brush cleansing tool, and a highlighter.

Overall, I think this was a very nice calender, and I think I’ll get use out of most of the items. I purchased a second beauty calender this year as well, which I’ll do a post on in the very beginning of the new year.
