5 favourites – June

The first summer month has come to an end, and all in all it was actually a really good month. I got to go back to work several times, great things happened both in my private life and on the work front, and the weather has been great. And now my summer holiday starts. Things are really starting to look up. But before I start my holiday for real, let’s talk about some June favourites.

Similihoops (3 pk)

Rhinestone hoops: I’m obsessed with earrings at the moment, especially big ones, and I’ve been loving these rhinestone hoops from H&M this month. I love that they come in three different sizes; there’s a pair for every outfit.

Homemade pearl necklace: I made this necklace some time last year, and even though I’ve worn it throughout the year, I’ve been wearing it more frequently this past month. I guess the bright colours and white pearls gives off a more summery vibe.

DSC_1696

EOS Vanilla Bean lip balm: I’m in love with the scent of this lip balm, and I’ve been wearing it constantly when not wearing lipstick.

DSC_0395

MAC Studio Chromagraphic pencil in NC15/NW20: I’d been looking for a nude eyeliner to replace my beloved Sephora one, which has been discontinued, and I found it in this pencil from MAC. I think it’s supposed to be a multi use product, but I’m going to used it exclusively as an eyeliner.

DSC_0821

Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown: This brow pencil is so good. It’s ultra slim (as the name suggests), and it makes it super easy to fill in your brows. I’ve been doing a slightly more natural brow, since I started using this pencil, and I love the look.

A big collective haul

Over the past month or maybe a little longer, I’ve been collecting a bunch of different clothing items, shoes, and accessories, and I thought it was time to haul them all. So that’s what this post is; a big collective haul.

Pink oversized blazer - MonkiPink shorts - Monki

In my latest “Film style icon” post about Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman, I talked about shorts suits and mentioned that I had purchased one. When I found this hot pink shorts suit from Monki, I knew it was just what I had been looking for. I’ve already worn it twice, and I can’t wait to style it again.

Periwinkle og grå mønstret skjorte - second hand

I recently went second hand shopping for the first time since before the lock down, but I didn’t find much. I was a little disappointed by the selection to be honest. However, I did find this periwinkle and grey shirt; I have a weakness when it comes to these kinds of shirts, and I really liked the colour scheme of this one.

Sort midi nederdel m. beige mælkebøttemønster - Topshop

I love wearing skirts in the summer, and I prefer midi skirts. This Topshop skirt is something between a midi and a maxi skirt, but I just loved the silhouette and the dandelion print.

Røde sneakers m. Anders And - Call It Spring

I have three pairs of shoes to share with you in this haul. First up are these cute Donald Duck sneakers from a brand called Call It Spring. You probably know that I’m a sucker for anything Disney related, and I’ve been wanting a pair of red sneakers for a long time, so I had to have these.

Sorte læder mules m. træhæl - Asos

These black leather mules are from Asos, and I’d had them in my saved items for so long, so when I saw that they were on sale, I finally decided to get them. I love the fun wooden heel, and they’re just so versatile.

Orange quilted mules - Topshop

Another pair of shoes that I’ve been lusting over for so long are these tangerine coloured quilted mules from Topshop. They are really comfortable, and I love the colour; they’re so summery.

Lilac håndtaske - Mango

How cute is the little lilac hand bag from Mango! As soon as I saw it, I bought it.

PerlekædeOrange halskæde

Next up, necklaces. The pearl necklace is from a brand called sweet deluxe. I love pearl jewellery and this necklace gives my Carrie Bradshaw vibes, and I’m all about that. The orange necklace is another second hand find. I really love orange at the moment, and I thought this necklace was so fun.

DSC_1045

I’ve bought three more pairs of big earrings (they’re one of my obsessions at the moment). These first two pairs were purchased at the same time, and as you can see they are a similar style. The pink ones are from Topshop, and the yellowy ones are from Pieces.

Lilac øreringe (Topshop)

I bought these lilac earrings from Topshop at the same time as the lilac Mango bag, and I thought the two would make a great pairing.

T-Rex hoops

This last pair of earrings I didn’t buy myself. These cute T-Rex hoops from Lisa Angel was an anniversary present from my boyfriend, and I love them!

Darling hårspænde fra SkinnydipHårspænde m. kirsebær

Lastly, I’ve purchased these two cute hair clips. The one that says “Darling” in multicoloured rhinestones is from Skinnydip, and the pink glitter one with the cherry is from Flying Tiger. Both will be great with cute summer outfits.

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s very rare that I wear a paler cool-toned pink lipstick, but I actually really like this one.

Here’s what I wore Wednesday May 27. I really like this outfit; the leopard print tights are so fun. The look is definitely ’80s inspired, and I love the light colour scheme too.

More classic

DSC_1084DSC_1085

Here’s what I wore Tuesday May 26. I love playing around with different styles, and this is a slightly more classic look, which I’m really into.

(Blazer + blouse – second hand, trousers + belt – H&M, heels – Zara)

Film style icon: Vivian Ward

It’s been over two years since I last did a post on a film style icon, but rewatching Pretty Woman (1990) gave me a lot of style inspiration, and I thought I would share that inspiration with you. Julia Roberts’ character Vivian Ward is obviously a prostitute in the film, but she’s going through the most incredible style transformation, and it’s that transformation and her new style which I find extremely inspiring.

Red opera dress

One of her signature looks is of course the red dress she wears to the opera. This dress is absolutely stunning, and the long white gloves is a nice contrast to the red, and they make the outfit pop even more.

Pretty Woman - 1990Brown polka dot dress 2

I love this look! Polka dots have been very trendy lately, and I’m really into polka dots. I love brown too, and I would love to find a dress similar to this one. The accessories for this outfit are on point too; the big brown waist belt (another trend), and the hat with the matching polka dot detail; so good!

White dress 1White dress 2

This is another look that would be fun to recreate. I love the botton detail on the dress and the shoulder pads; I love me some shoulder pads. The big hat, clutch, gloves and pearl earrings perfectly finishes off the look.

Shorts suit 1Shorts suit 2

This is probably my favourite outfit from the film and also the easiest to recreate. I’ve been wanting a shorts suit for a while, and I have already purchased one, which will be featured in my next haul. I love the styling here with the botton up blouse and waist belt. Julia Roberts just looks so good in this outfit! Well, actually she looks stunning in all these outfits. She’s one of my biggest girl crushes, and rewatching Pretty Woman reminded me how much I adore her.

Perfect palette match

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Lust palette was made to be worn with this outfit. Besides all the purple shades, it also has a metallic green shade which was perfect for this look.

(Base: primer –  e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer, foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + Revolution Conceal & Define concealer (shade: C2), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + RCMA No-Color powder. Face make-up: bronzer – Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r – Instant Warmth bronzer (shade: Inda Sun), blusher – MAC Blush Ombre in Azalea Blossom, highlighter – Sleek Highlighting palette in Solstice (shade: Hemisphere). Kinkster

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. As I wrote in my latest make-up haul, I’d been looking for a very warm, yellow-based nude brown lipstick, and this MAC lipstick is just it. Most people probably wouldn’t consider this a pretty shade, but I absolutely love it.

(Base: primers – Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + Revolution Conceal & Define concealer (shade: C2), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + RCMA No-Color powder. Face make-up: bronzer – Maybelline City Bronzer in 100 Light Cool, blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in So Natural, highlighter – MAC Strobe Face Glaze (shade: Let’s Make Waves).
