5 favourites – January

The first month of 2023 has come to an end. January always feels longer than the other months, and even though it felt like this one went by a little faster than usual now that I have a baby, it was still pretty long. February will probably be a bit more stressful, since me and my little family is moving in March, but I’m really looking forward to be moving into a bigger place. Anyways, it’s the last day of the month, which means that it’s time for my monthly 5 favourites.

Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (shade: Fair/Light): I’ve discovered two great correctors within the last six months. I use a corrector on my under eye area most times I do my make-up these days, and I really do see a difference. I know that this one has been a favourite among people even back when Becca was still it’s own brand, but I didn’t try it out until recently.

Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless bronzer (shade: Power Boost): I’ve heard so many beauty youtubers say that this cream bronzer is one of their absolute favourites, and I get why. I don’t think I’d go as far as saying that it’s my absolute favourite, but a favourite it sure is.

Morphe Continuous setting mist: This isn’t just a January favourite, this setting spray has been a favourite of mine for months, I’ve just forgotten to include it in a favourites post. It has the finest mist, and it’s just such a good setting spray.

MAC Fast Response Eye Cream: I love it when I receive a free gift with purchase that I end up really enjoying. That’s the case with this eye cream. I love the texture of it, and I think my under eyes look really good these days.

National Treasure: Edge of History (TV series): I like the National Treasure films despite disliking Nicolas Cage as an actor, so I thought that I would definitely give this series a watch. I’ve been watching it with my boyfriend, and we both really enjoy. I’m excited to see how it ends.

Oden’s Eye Black Friday haul

Oden’s Eye is one of my favourite brand discoveries from 2022, and they had one of the best Black Friday sales. Most products were 30% or 40% off, so I picked up three eyeshadow palettes and a lip stain.

The first palette I picked up is the Cat’s Breath palette from the Saga of Freja collection. I love this colour story (the next make-up look I’ll be posting features this palette), and I’m pretty impressed by the quality.

I also bought the Norn’s eyeshadow palette. I haven’t used this one yet, but I think it’s a very interesting colour story, and I’m especially excited about trying the last row of shimmers.

The last palette I got is the Alva II eyeshadow palette, which I wore here. I’m very inspired by this colour story as well, and I was really happy with the look I created with it.

I haven’t tried any lip products from Oden’s Eye, so I thought I would try the Alva cream lip stain. I picked up the shade A103 Sweet Tulip, which is a rusty orangy red.

Neutral with a subtle pop of colour

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. There’s something very pretty and flattering about a neutral make-up look with a subtle pop of colour.

Still a fave

Here’s what I wore Monday January 9. I know I’ve mentioned it many times by now, but I still love these blue floral trousers, and I love trying to style them in new ways.

Collective beauty haul – including Black Friday (November)

I have a collective beauty haul to share with you today. Some of the items were purchased in Black Friday sales. But first, let’s begin with some Natasha Denona.

I love Natasha Denona eyeshadows, and I really like the Mini Retro palette, so I was pretty excited about the Retro Glam palette launch. Of all the ND palettes I think this one might have the prettiest packaging. I think the colour story is super pretty too, and I used the palette to create this eye look.

I purchased the eyeshadow palette and the cheek trio from the Natasha Denona My Dream collection when the collection launched, but I’ve heard so many great things about the lip products from the collection as well, so I picked up the I Need a Nude lip crayon in NP1 Natasha and the I Need A Nude lipstick in 11NB Natasha.

I also picked up a few more lipsticks. I’ve been wanting the Rare Beauty Kind Words matte lipstick in Bold ever since the release of this lipstick line, but this particular shade kept being sold out, so when it finally came back in stock, I didn’t hesitate to buy it.

I got both of these Pat McGrath Labs X Bridgerton SatinAllure lipsticks on sale. They’re in the shades Infatuation and Négligée, and I just thought the packaging was so cute.

I was very lucky to get a bunch of free gifts with my Sephora purchases among others some single Natasha Denona shadows as samples from her most recent palettes, a full size Beauty Blender, and a bunch of other samples.

Let’s move on to MAC. I picked up the MAC Pro Eye Palette: The Bad Girl, which includes 6 cream eyeshadows in blue and green shades. I hadn’t heard anything about this product before, but I loved the colours, and I’ve been really into cream eyeshadows, so I thought I would try them out. I also purchased the MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation in NC15.

I also got the Cleanse Off Oil, which had leaked a lot, but I never got around to sending it back, so I just cleaned it off and kept it. This is a great product for removing matte liquid lipsticks.

And as a free gift with purchase, I received the MAC Superstar Kits Lashes to Lips Kit which comes with a Prep+Prime lip, a MAC M·A·CStack mascara, and a lipstick in the classic shade Velvet Teddy. These are all three products I enjoy.

Here’s a random little limited edition holiday set I picked up from Kiko Milano. It’s called the Joyful Holiday Magic Icons Makeup Kit and includes an eyeshadow quad and a lipstick. These are my first Kiko Milano products.

These are the last four products in this haul. I picked up another Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink, because I love this lipstick formula. It’s in the shade 45 Capricious. From Smashbox x Becca I got the Shimmering Skin Perfector pressed highlighter in Rose Quartz and the Under Eye Brightening Corrector in Fair/Light, and I love both products. And from KVD Beauty I purchased the last Dazzle Stick long-wear eyeshadow that I missed from my collection. It’s in the shade Lightning Strike.

Don’t love it

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I don’t love how this look turned out; the eyeshadow is creasing and the lipstick barely showed up. My skin doesn’t look too bad though.

(Base: primer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Jelly Pop dew primer, foundation – L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude plumping tinted serum (shade: 0,5-2 Very Light), concealers – Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector in Fair/Light + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Tone Up in Rose + MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder in Light Plus. Face make-up: bronzer – Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless bronzer in Power Boost, blusher – Essence x Beauty Benzz Everyday Is A Mystery pH-reacting blush stick in 01 We Need More!, highlighter – e.l.f. Cosmetics Jellypop glow stick. Eye make-up: eyeshadows – NYX Ultimate Eye Paint in Calling All Allies + Danessa Myricks Beauty Infinite Chrome Flakes in Strobe Light + NYX Ultimate Glow Shots (shade: 03 Come Thru Coconut), mascaras – MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash mascara + Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara Cosmic Black, eyeliner – Oden’s Eye Solmåne gel liner in 011 Milk White. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Soda #browpurrfection Ultra Thin Brow Liner in 003 Kim. Lips: Essence Disney Villains Evil Queen Electric Glow colour changing lipstick in 01 Obsession)

Velvet tracksuit

Here’s what I wore Friday January 6. This matching velvet tracksuit is definitely loungewear, and I wasn’t going anywhere that day, but it was still fun to dress up the outfit with jewellery and make-up.

(Tracksuit – H&M, T-shirt – Stradivarius, sneakers – Nike)

Back to other colour combos

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. As much as I love wearing green, red, and gold Christmassy make-up looks, it’s nice to go back to wearing all different kinds of colour combos.

(Base: primer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Jelly Pop dew primer, foundation – Urban Decay Stay Naked Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator (shade: 20 Fair Neutral), concealers – Sigma Beauty Spectrum Color-Correcting Duo in Light to Medium + NYX Bare With Me concealer serum (shade: 02 Light), powders – Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Tone Up in Rose + Catrice All Matt Shine Control powder Healthy Look in 100 Neutral Fresh Beige. Face make-up: bronzer – Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless bronzer in Power Boost, blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in Cheer Up, highlighter – Made By Mitchell Blursh Lights liquid highlighter in A Chance Of Peach. Eye make-up: base – MAC Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 05 Granny Pants + Oden’s Eye Alva II eyeshadow palette (shades: Peach Juice + Orange Bonbon + Blue Peafowl + Blue Bubble + Crystal + Green-Elves), mascaras – MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash mascara + Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara Cosmic Black, eyeliner – Oden’s Eye Solmåne gel liner in 007 Baby Blue. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Soda #browpurrfection Ultra Thin Brow Liner in 003 Kim. Lips: MAC Boldly Bare lip pencil + MAC @Manuelemameli lipstick)

Collective clothing haul – including Black Friday (November)

I have a collective clothing (and accessories) haul to share with you today. Some of the items were purchased in Black Friday sales. Let’s begin with the items I purchased from H&M.

I had to go out and buy a new pair of jeans after I gave birth in October, since I couldn’t (and still can’t) fit my trousers from before I was pregnant. I picked up this pair, which is described as 90’s baggy jeans. I’ve worn them so much, but they’re already a little big on me, but that’s okay; I’ll keep them for a potential future pregnancy:)

Here’s another pair of trousers that I’ve also worn a ton. They’re so comfy.

I know this matching velvet tracksuit is very 2000’s, but as I mostly wear comfy clothes these days, I thought I would purchase it and see if I liked it, and I do.

How cute is this Bambi sweatshirt?! I love swearshirts and I love a Disney print, so I had to pick this one up.

Here’s another cute Disney piece. I love an oversized T-shirt, and I love pink, so this is a very cute T-shirt to me.

These nursing tops from H&M MAMA are a stable in my wardrobe right now, so when the white and black duo was back in stock in my size, I immediately picked them up.

Now let’s move on to the pieces I got from Monki.

Ever since I first saw pictures of these blazers, I knew I had to add them to my wardrobe. I have this style of blazer from Monki in several different prints and colours, and these two could very well become new favourites. I’m obsessed with the colour combos of both.

I love this style of pleated flared trousers (I’ve worn my blue floral ones to death), so when I found these two pairs on sale, it was meant to be.

The last item in this haul is this set of food themed Jibbitz that I purchased on sale. I’ve added them to my purple classic Crocs, which are almost filled up with fun Jibbitz now.
