5 favourites – February

The last month of winter has (finally) come to an end. I’m tired of the cold, so I really can’t wait for spring weather to arrive. In February I was quite busy with uni stuff, but I managed to find time to see family and friends. March is going to be a busy month as well, but I kind of like be occupied. Anyways, let’s say goodbye to February by talking about some of my favourite things from the past month.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain): I did a first impressions post on this foundation back in october. Back then I wrote that I neither loved nor hated this foundation, but it has definitely grown on me. If you have dry skin, this is probably not the foundation for you, but is you have normal or oily skin, I would definitely recommend you try it out.

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold: Last month my favourite highlighter was the Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess, this month it’s Ice Cold. The Jeffree Star Skin Frost highlighters are amazing, and in contrast to Peach Goddess which is a bit softer but still glowy, Ice Cold is very intense and I love it.

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Redrum: I rarely feature lip products in my favourites post, because I wear so many different shades throughout a month. But when I wear a certain lip product once a week for a month (or longer) I have to mention it. You might have noticed by now that I’m obsessed with the Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks and my favourite shade is Redrum which is the perfect classic red.

Casio watch: I had been wearing the same silver watch since I was 12 years old, so I thought it was about time to wish for a new one. I got this Casio watch for Christmas, and it has been a favourite since I got it, but I’ve worn it almost everyday in February, and I just love the nice and simple design.

The Shawshank Redemption (film): Just like in January I’ve watched so many great films this past month, but the one that takes the cake is this 1994 classic. This film has been on my ‘must watch’ list for years, and it was just as great as I’d hoped.

Asos accessories haul pt. 1

dsc_1825dsc_1827dsc_1828

Last month I purchased a bunch of accessories on Asos and these are the jewelleries. I’ll show you the other accessories I purchased which are not jewellery in a separate post. All of these pieces were on sale and I really like the pieces I’ve worn so far. As you can see I bought three very different chokers and I thought they would be perfect for layering with other necklaces. Then I bought two pairs of sterling silver earrings with little knot designs (they came as a set) and I’ve worn both pairs a lot already. If you have several piercings in each ear (I don’t) I’m sure these two pairs of earrings would look really cute together.

Here’s what I wore Friday February 3. I love how this outfit is really casual and comfortable, but still a bit dressy. And I love that pink is back in style.

Perfect classic red

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing the Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Redrum and it’s definitely one of my new favourite lipsticks. It’s a perfect classic red.

H&M sale haul

Last month a bought quite a few sale items on H&M’s webpage. They were all super inexpensive, and I’m very happy with my purchases.

First, the tops. I thought the black crop top with multicoloured glitter would be a very nice party top, but I might even wear it on a regular day. I thought the mustard yellow top and the lilac top were so cute, and I think they’ll look great paired with high waisted trousers or skirts. I decided to get two white T-shirts, because I don’t really have that many basic pieces in my wardrobe.

And now bottoms. I bought the white jeans to wear for a choir performance, but we ended up not wearing white bottoms, and at that point I had already worn them at a rehearsel, so I couldn’t exchange them. I’ll try to make them work though. I’ve been wanting a pair of black culottes for a while, and these ones are perfect. I can’t wait to wear them. I thought the light blue denim jeans with flare legs and raw edges would be very nice in the spring and summer. And last, but not least, the A-line denim mini skirt. I’ve been wanting a skirt like this for so long, but I was afraid that I would find it too short, but I absolutely love it. My next post will be an outfit with this skirt.

Dark purple lip combo

dsc_1856dsc_1853

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love this dark purple lip combo. Especially paired with the neutral greyish eye make-up and super glowy skin.

(Base: primer – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer, foundation – L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion dewy glow foundation (shade: 01 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15), powders – Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shades: Banana + Vanilla) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shade: Fawn) + The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing powder (shade: 02 fair matte), blusher – Makeup Geek blusher in Spellbound, highlighter – Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette (shades: Foxy + Tease + Pistol + Verve) + Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold + Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shade: Sand), mascara – Benefit Roller Lash mascara, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: MAC Night Crawler lip pencil + MAC Leap of Delight lipstick)

Suitable for everyday wear

dsc_1848dsc_1850

Here’s what I wore Wednesday February 1. This skirt is quite dressy because of the silver and the length, but I love how a cosy sweater can dress it down a bit and make it suitable for everyday wear.

(Skirt + sweater – Monki, boots – Truffle Collection)

Pumpkin pie

dsc_1806dsc_1810

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing the Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Pumpkin Pie which has the most beautiful reddish pink (or pinky red) and gold glitter running through it. I think it’s such a gorgeous and unique shade.

(Base: primers – e.l.f. Blemish Control Face Primer + L’Oréal Lumi Magique Pure Light primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15), powders – Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shades: Banana + Vanilla) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – Benefit Hoola bronzer, blusher – Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush palette in Hot Spice (1. shade, 1. row), highlighter – Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess.
