5 favourites – May

By tomorrow it’ll officially be summer (calendar-wise), and I’m really excited about that. Especially because the weather has gotten warmer and sunnier. Things are also looking up when it comes to the lock down; lots of things are opening up again, and I might be going in to work again soon. I actually went to work last Monday, but I wasn’t teaching, but hopefully soon I will. I had so many favourites this month, but I managed to narrow them down to just five, so here they are.

RCMA No-Color powder: I bought this powder about two years ago, and I did a first impressions post on it. I liked it back then, but I didn’t find it to be anything particularly special, and I kind of forgot about it. However, I recently dug out forgotten products from my make-up collection with the intent of using them to find out whether I wanted to keep them or not, and I definitely found some duds, but I also rediscovered really good products e.g. this powder. I don’t know what have changed, but I’m suddenly really loving this powder.

MAC Rose-gilded eyeshadow palette: I briefly mentioned this palette in my latest haul, and I wrote that I would be talking more about it soon. The time has come. This palette has two fantastic eyeshadow formulas that are different to the regular MAC eyeshadow formulas. The formulas are called creamy matte and molten foil and both are super pigmented and very blendable. The shades are stunning too, and I think I’ve created some beautiful looks with this palette (which I’ll be posting soon).

Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r – Instant Warmth bronzer (shade: Inda Sun): I had a feeling that this bronzer would become a favourite. There’s not much to say about this product other than the formula is great; it blends out beautifully and looks stunning on the skin.

Earring holder: I bought this earring holder from Flying Tiger earlier this month, and it holds up to 48 pairs of earrings. I love having most of my earrings in one place (except for the really big ones), and it spins so it’s easy to get to every single pair.

Unlock

Unlock (game): I love board games and card games (I guess this is a hybrid), and I tried Unlock for the first time at a board game café in February and thought it was a lot of fun. It’s an escape room kind of game, so if you like those, you’ll most definitely like Unlock. There are 7 different versions and this is the newest version (Epic Adventures). I bought it for a casual at-home date night with my boyfriend, and we both really enjoyed playing this game.

Green lips

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I don’t remember the last time I wore this green lipstick, but I actually really like the shade. Probably not everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it’s fun.

Small collective Zalando haul

I purchased a few things from Zalando over the past month or so that I thought I would share with you in this little collective haul.

Beige flettede kitten heel sandaler - Stradivarius

I’d been wanting these cute heels from Stradivarius since I first saw them, but they kept selling out in this beige colour (they also came in light green and light blue, but I’m not sure if they’re still available). Suddenly they were back in stock and I managed to get them. I can imagine wearing them with so many cute summer outfits.

Hvide Air Force 1 m. regnbuefarvet + lilla og neongule detaljer - Nike

And on to another pair of shoes, and it was love at first sight with these. These Nike Air Force 1’s has my name written all over them; they have rainbow details and purple details, so they were pretty much made for me.

Beige stråtaske formet som muslingeskal - Topshop

I’ve been wanting a straw bag since last summer, and I finally found the one for me; this adorable shell shaped one for Topshop. I’m sure it’s going to be the perfect summer bag.

And lastly, I purchased the MAC Rose-Gilded eyeshadow palette. I hadn’t really heard anything about this palette, but I don’t think it was available in Scandinavia (maybe not anywhere else in Europe either) when it launched. I’ll be talking more about this palette in an upcoming post, but I can reveal that it is incredible.

Pringles and polka dots

DSC_0657DSC_0659

Here’s what I wore Tuesday May 5. I really wanted to wear my Pringles T-shirt again and thought it would look cute with my polka dot skirt. I decided to stick to the black and red colour scheme, and I really like how this outfit turned out.

Enjoying dark neutrals

DSC_0582DSC_0584

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m really enjoying doing neutral make-up looks these days. I especially enjoy using darker neutral shades like I did for this make-up look.

(Base: primers – Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: bronzer – Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r – Instant Warmth bronzer (shade: Inda Sun), blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in So Natural, highlighter – Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector pressed highlighter (shade: Vanilla Quartz). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Fenty Beauty Snap Shadows Mix & Match eyeshadow palette in 1 True Neutrals (shades: Nookie Rookie + Cumin Get It + Affogato + Tequila Nite) + MAC Nylon eyeshadow, mascara – L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara, eyeliner – Stila Smudge Stick waterproof eye liner in Damsel. Eyebrows: e.l.f. Brow Pencil (shade: Neutral Brown) + e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: Jeffree Star Velour lip liner in Allegedly + MAC Marrakesh lipstick)

Beige blazer

Here’s what I wore Monday May 4. I wanted to wear this beige blazer (I bought shortly before the lock down happened), because I hadn’t worn it yet, and together came this fun neutral coloured look.

(Hat + blazer + shirt – second hand, belt – Glamorous, trousers + socks – H&M, heels – Mango)

First impressions: e.l.f. 16HR Camo concealer

DSC_0523

I don’t think I ever featured the e.l.f. 16HR Camo concealer in any haul, so instead I decided to do this first impressions post about it.

First impressions

I got the shade Fair Rose, which is not the best colour match for my skin, but the shade selection at my local supermarket was very limited, and this shade seemed to be the best choice. Even though the colour is a little light and probably has the wrong undertone, I still think I made it work. The concealer has a large doe foot applicator, which I really enjoy in a concealer; it makes the product quick and easy to apply. The product blended out nicely and I liked the texture of it. It almost sets by itself, so only very little powder is needed (though I’m not wearing powder in the picture). The coverage is good, but it’s not as great as I thought it would be. It’s supposed to be a full coverage concealer, and though it looks very nice in the picture, I do wish that it had a little more coverage. I didn’t get to wear the concealer for 16 hours, but I wore it for 11 hours, and it still looked nice right before I removed it; it hadn’t creased. My feelings about this concealer is pretty much down the middle of the road; I do like it, but I’ve tried concealers that I like more.

Glowy/dewy and light

DSC_0557DSC_0554

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I decided to go for quite a glowy/dewy and light look, apart from the bright red lip of course (which was supposed to be matte, it even says so on the actual lipstick, but it’s definitely not).

(Base: primers – Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Maybelline City Bronzer in 100 Light Cool, blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in Grand, highlighter – MAC Cream Colour Base (shade: Pearl). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Jeffree Star Thirsty palette (shades: Parched + Filthy Rich) + Juvia’s Place The Magic Mini palette (shade: Kesi) + MAC Nylon eyeshadow, mascara – L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Eyebrows: Benefit Gimme Brow volumizing brow gel in 03 Medium + e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: MUA Intense Colour lipliner in Red Drama + Sephora Collection #Lipstories x Barbie lipstick in 26 Kick It!)

Black skirt and red tartan tights

DSC_0569DSC_0572

Here’s what I wore Friday May 1. I challenged myself to style the black skirt, because I usually find black hard to style without the outfit becoming too black, but then I remembered that I had these red tartan tights that I hadn’t worn yet, and then this outfit came to life.

(Top – Bershka, belt – H&M, blazer + skirt + loafers – second hand, tights – Monki)
