5 favourites – April

Yet another month has come to an end and we’re moving into the last official month of spring (I’m still waiting for the spring weather though). I want to enjoy May, because June will once again be all about exams. But let’s not talk about that right now. Instead, let’s talk about some things I’ve really enjoyed in the month of April.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Creamy Mattes gel-cream eyeshadow (shade: Crème De Rose 91): Back in November I compared this Color Tattoo to my beloved MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and found out that they were very similar, but I continued to use Painterly almost every day. This past month I would say I rediscovered this Color Tattoo and I’ve been really enjoying it. I still grab my Painterly Paint Pot more often, but I do really like this cheaper alternative.

Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette: I’ve only been using this palette the second half of the month, but it has still been my favourite eye shadow palette this month. As I mentioned here I’d been craving this palette for years, and it really is an amazing product.

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette: Another palette I’ve been loving all throughout the month is this highlight and contour palette. I’ve especially been using the four middle shades (Soft Light, Cream, Toffee and Sculpt) a ton.

Gosh Groovy Grey neglelak

Gosh Special Edition nail polish (shade: 003 Groovy Grey): As much as I love colour (in any aspect of my life) there’s something about neutral nail polishes that I can’t resist. This shade is a mix between a nude and a grey, and I love it. I love it so much that I wore it two weeks in a row in the beginning of April.

25 – Adele (album): I’ve always thought Adele was a great singer, but her music never really caught my attention. That’s until she released her 25 album. This album is full of beautiful songs, and if I had to choose a favourite, it would be All I Ask. So amazing!

Medium deep red

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s not that often that I wear a medium deep red lip, but I think this colour is really beautiful.

Still sweater weather

Here’s what I wore Thursday April 7. As you can see even though we’re in April it’s still sweater weather. I wish it would get a lot warmer very soon.

Urban Decay Naked 2

I finally purchased the Urban Decay Naked 2 eye shadow palette which I’d been craving for years. It’s my first Urban Decay palette, and I’m not disappointed. The quality is great and the colours are beautiful. If you’re not familiar with the Naked palettes the one just called Naked (the original one) has warm-toned neutrals, this one (Naked 2) has cool-toned neutrals, and Naked 3 has rosy neutrals. There is also a Naked Smoky palette which is full off darker, smoky shades. The only one of the palettes I’m not that keen on is the original Naked palette, but I would love to own the Naked 3 and Naked Smoky palettes.

Stone fox

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing the NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in Stone Fox, and I love it. The first 30 min. or so I wore it I had to get used to the colour, but then I quickly started to love it. If you like unusual lip colours you should definitely try this one out.

Here’s what I wore Wednesday April 6. It had been a long time since I’d worn a hat, and I thought my black hat with ears would look great with this outfit.

Blue lashes

Here’s the make-up I wore Thursday March 31. I recieved these NYX products that day, so I wanted to try out some of them. As I mentioned in my NYX haul post, I’m very impressed by the blue mascara, and as you can see it’s quite pigmented. On my lips I’m wearing the soft matte lip cream in Cannes which is such a pretty nude colour. And then I used the highlight and contour palette on both my face and eyes.

Soft pink

Here’s the make-up I wore Wednesday March 23. I love this look! I think it’s so pretty and girly. You know how much I love a bright, colourful lip, but I actually wore this soft pink lipstick three days in a row when these pictures were taken.

(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Stila In the Light eye shadow palette (shade: Bare + Bliss) + the Balm Nude’tude eye shadow palette (shades: Stand-Offish + Stubborn + Sassy) + Stila All Over Shimmer Duo highlighter in Kitten (light shade on browbone), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Two from MAC

DSC_8990DSC_9003

On the very last day of March I purchased these two MAC products. I’d been checking the MAC webside several times that day, because I knew that the Halsey lipstick was going to be released. I also decided to buy a limited edition Mineralize Skinfinish.

DSC_9007

The Halsey lipstick is a grey lipstick with a blue undertone, and it looks a bit more blue on the lips than in the bullet. I really wanted this lipstick because it’s a very different and unique shade. It has a matte finish which is my favourite finish from MAC.

DSC_8999DSC_8997

The Mineralize Skinfinish is in the shade Warm Rose. It’s described as a pastel pink with a pink reflex which I think is a pretty good description. I would say it’s definitely more of a finishing powder than an actual highlighter, unless you like a very subtle shimmery highlighter. Either way it looks really pretty on the skin.
