5 favourites – October

We are approaching the last official month of autumn, and the Danish weather has definitely been autumnal lately. Even wintery as it snowed last weekend. We sure are getting closer to December and Christmas, and Christmassy things have started to show up at most stores. You can probably imagine how excited I am! I have already started to collect some bits for my upcoming Christmas clothing haul. But we still have one month to go, and before November begins, let’s talk about some October favourites.

Beige og brun ternede støvler m. chunky hæl - Monki

Checked boots: I’m so happy that I bought these checked boots from Monki. They are so comfortable, and they’re are in the perfect autumn colours. I’ve already worn them quite a bit, but I know that I’ll get a lot more use out of them.

L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara: When I did my first impressions post on this mascara, I mentioned how this is the best mascara I’ve tried other than my favourite one, Maybelline The Falsies. I’ve worn this mascara all month, and I still really enjoy using it.

Laura Geller highlighter duo 1

Laura Geller baked highlighter in French Vanilla (the shade on the left): I’ve heard lots of Youtubers talk about this highlighter. I usually go for a more intense highlighter, but French Vanilla is such a gorgeous more natural highlighter that still gives your skin the most beautiful glow.

elf

Elf (film): I’ve watched so many films this past month, and a lot of them I hadn’t watched before. I loved most of the films I watched, but I couldn’t feature all them in this post, so I narrowed them down to my two favourites. The first one is a classic Christmas film; Elf. Considered how much I love Christmas, it’s strange that I hadn’t watched this one until earlier this month. I guess I hadn’t watched it because I don’t particularly like Will Ferrell, but there’s a reason why Elf is a classic. I loved it, and I’ll definitely rewatch it.

diehard

Die Hard (film): My other favourite film I’ve watched this past month is another (Christmas) classic. And again, I see why this is a classic. It’s simply a great action film. I also watched the second one, and I’m really looking forward to watch the rest of this film series.

Small autumn clothing haul

About a month ago, my sisters and two of my cousins were visiting me. Obviously, we went shopping, and these are the items I purchased.

Sort, beige, brun, lyserød m.m. mønstret skjorte - second hand

We went to a bunch of second hand stores, but I only found one item, which is this shirt. I love colorful, patterned vintage shirts like this one, so I couldn’t leave it behind. This colour combination is quite unusual, and the buttons are very pretty.

Regnbuefarvet stribet sweater - Monki

I love super colourful things, and I instantly fell in love with this rainbow striped jumper from Monki. I can’t wait to style it in a bunch of different ways.

Bordeaux, lyserød, orange, brun og mørkeblå stribet højhalset trøje - Monki

I also found this stripy number in the Monki store. I love a roll neck top, and I love the autumnal colours of this one. It will pair perfectly with most of my corduroy trousers.

Mørkebrune fløjlsoveralls - Monki

I’d been eyeing up these corduroy overalls for a while, and I finally decided to purchase them. I love the chocolate brown colour, and I’ve already worn them with the autumnal roll neck top above.

Sort velour hårbøjle

Lastly, I bought this black, velvet headband. I found it at my local supermarket, and I thought it would be perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

Fitted

Here’s what I wore Thursday September 27. I usually prefer flared or more straight leg jeans, but I really like these more fitted ones.

Matching green and purple

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. You can never have to much purple and green in my opinion, so I matched my make-up to my outfit.

(Base: primer – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser concealer (shade: 00 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – Physicians Formula Butter bronzer (shade: Light), blusher – Milani powder blush in 01 Romantic Rose, highlighter – Sleek Highlighting palette in Solstice (shade: Hemisphere). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Jeffree Star Thirsty palette (shade: Parched + Splash) + Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette (shades: Silk Creme + Obsessed + Enlight), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – MUA Intense Glitter eyeliner in Jade Jewel. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Self Control)

’80s green and purple

Here’s what I wore Wednesday September 26. I was very much inspired by ’80s fashion that day, and I really wanted to wear one of my favourite colour combos, green and purple, so this is what I came up with. It’s quite loud and a lot of fun.

First impressions: L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara

DSC_6024

I’ve been wanting to try out the L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara for a while, so I decided to write down my first impressions.

First impressions

It has a rather large bristle brush/wand, but it’s quite easy to use. The mascara claims to give your lashes both volume and length, and I think it does. It holds the curl too. It’s easy to remove from the skin with a dry cotton bud without ruining the eye shadow, and it’s easy to remove completely with regular make-up remover, which are both huge plusses in my book. It only transferred a little unto my eyelids throughout the day, but it really wasn’t too bad. All in all, I really enjoy this mascara, and it’s probably the best mascara I’ve tried other than my favourite Maybelline The Falsies mascara.

Unusual colour combo

Here’s what I wore Friday September 21. Lime green, dusty pink, beige, and white, is quite an unusual colour combination, but I really like it. I think this colour combo works because the outfit is mainly solid colour pieces.

Two pairs of shoes

I’ve bought some more shoes. I know, I’ve gone a bit shoe-crazy lately, but it’s a new season, and I’m so inspired when it comes to putting together outfits.

Lilla, sort og hvide Lampin m. fløjl - Vans

I’ve purchased my first ever pair of Vans. When I saw these online, I fell in love instantly. I’m obsessed with corduroy and my favourite colour is purple, so it’s a match made in shoe heaven.

Røde lak støvler m. trekantet chunky hæl - Even&Odd

I’ve also bought a new pair of red boots. I had to get rid of my old pair, because I had worn them to death, but red boots has become an essential in my wardrobe, so I got myself a new pair. These are from Even&Odd, and I love the round toe and the shape of the heel.
