5 favourites – March

I’ve had a bit of a tough start to 2024, and March has been another month of ups and downs. I hope that things will get better soon. I’m also hoping for warmer weather soon; March was cold and not very springlike. Anyways, here are my March 5 favourites.

Nike Zoom Air Fire sneakers: I purchased these sneakers back in July last year, and they’re been a favourite ever since, so I thought it was about time that they got a shout out.

Rare Beauty Positive Light tinted moisturizer (shade: 14W): My skin has been looking good lately, so I’ve opted for a skin tint or light coverage foundation, and this one from Rare Beauty has been my go-to. It has the perfect amount of coverage for what I’m liking at the moment, and the finish is beautiful.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix live action TV series): I love the original Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon, so I was excited to watch the live action version. Nothing can ever beat the original series, but I really enjoyed this one for what it is.

Fool Me Once (TV series): Another Netflix series I’ve watched and really enjoyed this past month is Fool Me Once. I really enjoy crime/thriller/drama series, and this one is worth a watch.

Diamond art: I’ve been needing some distraction, so I’ve taking up a new hobby; Diamond art. It’s like paint by numbers, but for adults, and that resonates with me.

5 favourites – January

January is always a little tough, but this January has been more tough than usual for me, so this month’s 5 favourites post is going to be short and sweet.

Stine Goya Lotta bag: I put this bag on my wishlist for Christmas with the intension of using it as my new everyday bag, and that’s exactly what I’ve done, and I love it. It holds a lot of stuff, and I love the colourful print.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty Color-Correcting Eye Brightener (shade: Fair): I’m sorry about the bad picture, but it was apparently the only one I’d taken, and I don’t feel like taking a new picture right now. But that doesn’t really matter anyways. What matters is that this is a great, more affordable under eye corrector/brightener. I seem to enjoy every product from the e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty line.

Nee Doh Nice Cube: A bit of a random favourite, I know, but this fidget toy (I guess that’s what it is) came into my life at the right time.

The Batman (film): I’ve got two film favourites this month (I can’t believe that I actually managed to watch two whole films). My boyfriend and I watched The Batman over two nights (because parent life), and I really enjoyed it. Especially the first half.

Bohemian Rhapsody (film): I’d been wanting to watch Bohemian Rhapsody since it released, and finally got around to it a few nights ago. It was really good and definitely worth the wait.

5 favourites – December

Happy New Year! It’s the last day of 2023 and just as every other year, it feels like this year just flew by. I’d heard that it feels like time goes by faster after you’ve had children, and I agree. The last couple of months have been a little tough, but besides that most of my year was great. I’m hoping for many good days and experiences in 2024, so before we say hello to the new year, let’s say goodbye to the old one with some December favourites.

Pink Crocs Classic Crush boots: December has been a month snow, cold weather, and rain, so I’m so glad I purchased these Crocs boots back in October, because I’ve worn them so much.

Red bow hair clip (H&M): I’ve been loving the hair bow trend this December. This red hair clip version has been my favourite hair accessory to pair with my Christmas outfits.

Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin serum skin tint (shade: 2): I haven’t hauled this skin tint yet, but I’ve already worn it quite a bit, because I really enjoy this product. 2023 has been the year of skin tints and light coverage foundations for me, and this Danessa Myricks one is a great one, and I’m excited to continue to wear it.

Natasha Denona I Need A Rouge lip styletto & lip crayon in Gigi: I’ve loved these lip products ever since I purchased them earlier in the year, but they’re been such a great red Christmas lip duo. I’ve also worn the lip crayon with other red lipsticks this past month.

Love Actually In Concert: In the middle of December I watched Love Actually In Concert with one of my sisters, and it was incredible. I love Love Actually, and I watch it every Christmas season, and watching it with an orchestra playing all of the music in the film was so beautiful and a completely new watching experience.

5 favourites – October

I’d been looking forward to October for several reasons; I had a week long break from work and most importantly, my daughter turned 1 year old. I can’t believe that I’ve been a mother for a year now. Time is crazy. Another thing that’s crazy is that the last month of autumn begins tomorrow, which means that my favourite month is only 30 days away. But first, I’m going to end this month by watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and eating Halloween sweets with my boyfriend and of course with some favourites from this past month, so let’s talk about those.

KVD Beauty Good Apple Skin-Perfecting foundation balm (shade: Light 006): I’d been wanting to try this foundation for ages, and when I found it on sale back in September, I decided to finally purchase it, and I’m glad I did. This is such a beautiful foundation, and it’s so fast and easy to apply.

MAC Skinfinish Sunstruck Matte bronzer (shade: Matte Light Rosy): Before I tried this bronzer, I didn’t know that I needed a rosy toned bronzer, but I did, and I love it. I love the radiant version too, but I’ve worn the matte one the most.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze applicator: I had no idea that ABH made a Brow Freeze applicator, and since the Brow Freeze is my favourite brow gel, I had to try this applicator out. I love that it has a classic spoolie on one end and a flat plastic applicator on the other end.

Essence Holo Bomb effect nail lacquers: It’s no secret that I love Essence nail polishes, and these holographic ones are better than I imagined. And so affordable!

Loki season 2 (TV series): I’ve enjoyed most of the Marvel series on Disney+, and I liked the first season of Loki, but it was a bit confusing. The second season, on the other hand, is so much more interesting and also easier to follow. I’m really excited to watch the rest of the episodes.

5 favourites – September

I pretty much started September with being ill, and I’m ending it with being ill. And I’m almost never ill. I’m hoping for a healthier October. I’m generally really excited for October. It’s my daughter’s birthday month (I can’t believe that she’s almost one year old), and we have an autumn break/holiday coming up as well. So let’s put this September behind us, and talk about some favourites from the month.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Power Grip primer: If you want your make-up to last all day, this is the primer for you. I’ve had this primer for quite a while, but I’ve been using is more lately. It’s perfect for long work days.

Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer (shade: Light): I’d been wanting to try this product for so long, so when Makeup By Mario launched at Sephora Scandinavia I ordered it right away. It blends like a dream and looks beautiful on the skin.

Ole Henriksen Strengh Trainer Peptide Boost moisturizer: I’d heard great things about this moisturiser, so I was really excited to try it, and so far I love it. The texture of the product is quite unique, but I really like how it blends into the skin.

Maanesten Apsara bracelet: I got this bracelet as a present from my mum on Christmas Eve last year. I loved it right away, and I’ve worn it a lot, but especially recently it’s been one of my go-to bracelets. It’s just so pretty and versatile.

Elemental (film): I didn’t expect much from the newest Pixar film, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how sweet and emotional it was. The story and characters were cute, and I teared up several times.

5 favourites – August

The last summer month has come to an end, and we’re quickly heading into autumn. A lot of things happened in August; I went back to work after my maternity leave, my daughter started in daycare, and I turned 30. For the past many years, I’d been saying that I hoped to be a mother when I turned 30, and I am, so I’m very excited about entering a new decade in my life. But enough about that, here are my August favourites including a birthday present, some beauty bits, and a film.

Guess watch: My boyfriend (and daugther) gave me this beautiful watch for my birthday, and I’ve been wearing it pretty much everyday since. I was in desperate need of a new silver watch (I most often wear silver jewellery), and this one had a bit of colour and sparkle to it, which is right up my street.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Liquid Poreless Putty primer: The original Poreless Putty primer from e.l.f. Cosmetics is a long time favourite of mine, so I was very excited to try the liquid version, and it’s so good. I might even like this one more than the original one.

Colourpop Pretty Fresh hyaluronic acid setting mist: I have a couple of favourite setting sprays, some which I have repurchased several times, but I do also like trying out new ones, and I’m really enjoying this one from Colourpop.

KAYALI Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 Eau de Parfum: KAYALI is one of my favourite perfume brands, and in my 5 favourites post from June I featured the Eden Juicy Apple | 01, which I’ve continued to wear very often, but this month my most worn scent has been the Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33, which is such a delicious scent.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 (film): The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are some of my favourite MCU films, so I was so excited to watch volume 3, and it did not disappoint.

5 favourites – July

It’s the last day of the month, but my first day back to work after a long and wonderful maternity leave and holiday. It’s really nice to get back to work, but it’s also going to be strange and a bit difficult not spending the entire day everyday with my daughter anymore. At least I have my little family to come home to after work. Anyways, I had a lovely July with many make-up favourites (you discover some favourites when you travel with limited amounts of make-up) and a film favourite.

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop blurring skin tint (shade: 2): It took me over a year to get into this skin tint. I think it’s because I was still getting into skin tints in general around the time I bought this, but now I prefer a lighter coverage foundation most days.

KimChi Chic Candy Girl Fake Freckles in Afternoon in The Flower Field: After my pregnancy last year, some of my natural freckles became more visible, so I decided to try a faux freckles product, and I instantly fell in love with this one from KimChi Chic. I’m wearing it in my last three make-up posts (and in many more to come), and I think it looks really good.

Cosmic Brushes eyeshadow palettes: It’s been a while since I’ve featured an eyeshadow palette in one of these posts, because I try so many new ones, but I’ve loved the eyeshadow palettes from Cosmic Brushes this past month. I brought both the Royal Rose palette and the Serenity palette with my on holiday, and I was able to create so many different looks with them. The quality of these eyeshadows is amazing.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Luminous Putty bronzers (shades: Summer Fridays and Vacay Mood): The original e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty bronzer in Tan Lines is one of my most used cream bronzer, and I was very happy to discover that the luminous version is just as good. I love both a warm and a cool shade.

Barbie (film): This is a very recent favourite, because I watched it just yesterday. I’ve loved Barbie since I was a child, so I was so excited about this film, and it didn’t disappoint. If you like Barbie and comedy, it’s a must watch.

5 favourites – April

Another month has come to an end, and I can’t believe how quickly time flies by. I’m still enjoying my maternity leave, so I spend my days with my daughter, and it’s incredible to see her grow. We’re heading into the last month of spring, but I’m still longing for warmer spring weather. The days are longer and lighter, but it’s not particularly warm outside. Anyways, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from the month of April.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Holy Hydration! face cream: The past couple of years I’ve been a bit more interested in skincare and trying different products, and one product that is always a part of my daily skincare routine is a good moisturiser. At the moment, I’m using this one from e.l.f. and I’m really enjoying it. I got the fragrance free version, and I love the texture of the product. It has hyaluronic acid and peptide complex in it, which are ingredients I really like.

Tarte Sculpt Tape contour (shade: Cool Bronze): I’d heard great things about this contour wand, and that it’s supposed to be similar to the famous Charlotte Tilbury one. I haven’t tried the Charlotte Tilbury version yet, but I really like this Tarte one. It blends out so easily and looks really natural on the skin.

Colourpop custom face palette (pressed powders): Colourpop recently released a permanent line of pressed bronzer, pressed blushes, and pressed highlighters. You can buy them in individual cases or just in the pan so you can place them in an empty palette. As you can see, I did the latter. My palette contains one bronzer, three blushes, and two highlighters, and I travelled with this palette in the very beginning of the month, and it was the perfect travel face palette.

Maanesten earrings + necklace: I got this jewellery set for my birthday last year, and I’ve worn it a lot ever since, but especially this past month. The picture also shows a bracelet, but I’ve only been wearing the necklace and earrings, and I’ve been wearing those so often.

You (TV series): I watched the first season of You a few years ago, but it wasn’t until this past month that I finally decided to watch the rest, and I’m so glad I did. My two favourite seasons are season 2 and 3, and I’m excited for the 5th and final season, which I think will be released in 2024.

5 favourites – January

The first month of 2023 has come to an end. January always feels longer than the other months, and even though it felt like this one went by a little faster than usual now that I have a baby, it was still pretty long. February will probably be a bit more stressful, since me and my little family is moving in March, but I’m really looking forward to be moving into a bigger place. Anyways, it’s the last day of the month, which means that it’s time for my monthly 5 favourites.

Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (shade: Fair/Light): I’ve discovered two great correctors within the last six months. I use a corrector on my under eye area most times I do my make-up these days, and I really do see a difference. I know that this one has been a favourite among people even back when Becca was still it’s own brand, but I didn’t try it out until recently.

Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless bronzer (shade: Power Boost): I’ve heard so many beauty youtubers say that this cream bronzer is one of their absolute favourites, and I get why. I don’t think I’d go as far as saying that it’s my absolute favourite, but a favourite it sure is.

Morphe Continuous setting mist: This isn’t just a January favourite, this setting spray has been a favourite of mine for months, I’ve just forgotten to include it in a favourites post. It has the finest mist, and it’s just such a good setting spray.

MAC Fast Response Eye Cream: I love it when I receive a free gift with purchase that I end up really enjoying. That’s the case with this eye cream. I love the texture of it, and I think my under eyes look really good these days.

National Treasure: Edge of History (TV series): I like the National Treasure films despite disliking Nicolas Cage as an actor, so I thought that I would definitely give this series a watch. I’ve been watching it with my boyfriend, and we both really enjoy. I’m excited to see how it ends.

5 favourites – August

August was some month. The weather was so hot throughout most of the month, I had a birthday and Covid (at the same time might I add – not very fun), and I definitely started to feel the weight and tiredness of being in the third trimester of pregnancy. But thankfully, I only have two more work days left before my maternity leave begins, and I can’t wait! I’m really looking forward to slowing down in September, and I’m going to try to enjoy the last bit of my pregnancy. Even though August was tough in many ways, it also had some good moments, and I discovered a lot of favourites as well. As always, I did manage to narrow them down to five, so let’s talk about them.

Pastel coloured tie dye Teva sandals: I love my multicoloured Teva sandals that I purchased last year, so I decided to get another pair this summer, and I’ve loved these ones as well. Teva just makes such comfortable sandals!

Oden’s Eye SolmÃ¥ne II eyeshadow palette: I posted my first look using this palette yesterday, but there’ll be more looks to come, because I’ve really enjoyed using this palette. The colour story is so pretty, and the quality is great. I’m going to keep an eye on Oden’s Eye from now on.

Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star mascara: I’ve received a lot of mascara samples as free gifts with purchases, and it’s a great way of trying out new mascaras and especially more expensive ones. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been using this Pat McGrath one, and I love it! It’s too bad that it’s so darn expensive.

This Is Us (TV series): The one good thing that came out of me having Covid earlier this month was that I finally had time to start watching ‘This Is Us’, which is a series I’ve been wanting to watch for a while. I was intrigued from the very first episode, and I’m almost done with season two now. I’m really happy that there are six seasons in total, because I’m not done learning about the Pearsons.

Apple AirPods: I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to be and AirPods person, but I got a pair for my birthday, and I’ve already used them a lot. I also think they’ll come in handy when the baby comes; wires and babies are probably not a great match.
