August went by so quickly, if you ask me. I went back to work after a long, relaxing summer holiday, and things are looking a bit more “normal”. I also had a birthday, went to a wedding and a confirmation celebration, so August was eventful indeed. Even though the calendar might say that it is autumn by tomorrow, the Danish weather is actually very nice and summery this week. However, I’m starting to get excited about autumn and colder weather; I want to wear corduroy and knitwear and boots again. Maybe soon I will. But first, let’s talk about some favourites from the month of August.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless primer: For once, I’m featuring a product that I have actually already hauled. As I mentioned in this Lyko haul, I’ve been loving this primer throughout both July and August. I love that it contains SPF 20, and I just like the way it feels and looks on the skin and the way make-up looks on top of it.
L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain): An now on to a product I haven’t hauled yet, but which I’ve been loving so much. I’d heard so many good things about this foundation, and I must say that it really is great. It’s not often that I fall in love with a foundation, but that’s the case with this one.
Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle cream bronzer in Butta Biscuit: I’ve had this cream bronzer since February or March, and I loved it from the very beginning, but my love for it has grown significantly over the past month or so. This is the easiest cream bronzer to use. It almost blends itself. And the shade Butta Bisquit is perfect on me.
Batman – The Dark Night trilogy (films): The only film from the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy I’d watch until a week or two ago was The Dark Night, and I watched it because of Heath Ledger, who is brilliant in it. However, I decided to watch all three films recently, and I really liked them. More than I thought I would. I love the MCU which is more supernatural and fun, but these darker more realistic superhero films were really good as well.
Cruella (film): I’d been waiting for so long for Cruella to become available to all on Disney+, and when it finally did last Friday I watched it right away, and I really enjoyed it. It was not only a Disney film, but also a fashion film, which only made it better. Plus I just love Emma Stone.
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. As I mentioned in my outfit post, I wanted to wear some of the products from the MAC Cruella collection. I wore the eyeshadow palette, the eyeliner, and one of the Retro Matte liquid lip colours. I’m not sure how I feel about this particular eye look, but I really like the lipstick.

Here’s what I wore Wednesday May 12. I actually built my outfit around my make-up that day. I wanted to wear some of the products from the MAC Cruella collection, so when it came to my outfit, I had to go for Cruellas colour scheme.
(Bucket hat + shirt + socks – H&M, blazer + scarf + loafers – second hand, trousers – Monki)
It’s time for a Sephora sale haul. I bought these products in late April (I know, I’m still way behind), and as you can see they’re a mix of cheek and lip products.
First off, let’s talk bronzers. I’ve never really been obsessed with bronzers until recently. I used to have a few bronzers that I loved and wore all the time, but I’ve been so in to trying out new bronzers lately, and these three are good ones. I’ve been wanting to try the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer for years, and I finally decided to get it. It’s a very nice matte bronzer perfect for fair skin. My favourite of the three so far has without a doubt been the Hourglass Ambient Lighting bronzer (as you might already know if you’ve seen my July 5 favourites post). I got the shade Luminous Bronze Light, and it is just stunning! The last bronzer I got in this Sephora sale was the Huda Beauty Tantour – Contour & Bronzer Cream in Fair, and even though it looks quite dark, it blends out lighter, and it looks beautiful on the skin. I might still like my Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle cream bronzer in Butta Biscuit more, but the Huda Beauty one is up there.
I picked up two blush products from Fenty Beauty. The first one is the Killawatt Freestyle – Foil highlighter duo in Mimosa Sunrise / Sangria Sunset, and even though the name says they’re highlighters, they’re definitely not highlighters on my fair skin. However, they make beautiful glowy blushes, which is why I purchased this duo. I also picked up another Cheeks Out Freestyle cream blush. This is the shade Summertime Wine, and it’s just what it reminds me of.
Last, but not least, I got three lipsticks. All of these lipsticks were heavily discounted. I got the Dior Golden Nights – Diorific lipstick in 072 Shimmery Red, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Rock’n Shine lipstick in 2 Cacao Bounce, and the Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipstick in Violet Fury. I’ve only worn the Fenty one so far; the Dior and YSL ones are almost too beautiful to wear. However, I’m pretty sure I’ll wear them some day.
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The main colour in my outfit was pink, so I wanted that to be the main colour of my make-up look as well. I added a pop of green though as a contrasting colour to the pink.

Here’s what I wore Monday May 10. I really wanted to wear this cute matching set from Monki, and what better way to wear it than with my new *NSYNC T-shirt. It was also the first time this year that it was warm enough to wear sandals.
In the first week of May, I decided to wear a different unusual lip colour every day for a week (excluding the weekend). I usually don’t wear super unusual lip colours to work, but I miss them sometimes, so I thought that now that I had a whole week where I didn’t have any classes to teach and I also had to work from home, I would wear a bunch of fun lip colours that I either hadn’t worn in a long time or that I’d never worn before. I actually really like how most of the looks turned out.
Here’s the make-up I wore Monday May 3. This is my least favourite look from the week. I just hadn’t worn that sky blue lipstick before, so I had to wear it for this week of unusual lip colours. I like a blue lip, but I prefer a darker blue; this lighter one is not very flattering.
