5 favourites – April

Am I the only one who thinks that 2022 is flying by so fast? I can’t believe that it’s the last day of April today, and that we’ll soon (hopefully) be heading into summer. The weather has been slightly warmer and more springlike these last couple of weeks, which is nice, but I’m so ready for warmer summery weather. But let’s talk about some favourites. Last month’s favourites post was make-up heavy and so is this month’s favourites as well (well, three out of five are beauty products), but I just love discovering great products. However, I also have a film and a TV series to share with you this month.

MAC Prep + Prime Lip: This is actually not a new discovery at all. I’ve loved this lip primer for a few years now, I think, and I thought it was about time that I would feature it in a favourites post. It’s the first step of my make-up routine, and I use it everytime I do my make-up.

L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum (shade: 0,5-2 Very Light): It took me a while to get into skin tints, but this is by far my favourite one. It has light coverage, but not too light, which I love, so this is great for days where my skin is looking a little better and I don’t feel like I need a whole lot of coverage. The texture, colour, and finish are great too.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow setting powder: This is one of the newest products in my collection, which means that I haven’t hauled it yet. However, I had to feature it in this favourites post, because I fell in love with this powder instantly. It has this super pretty, subtle glow to it, but it also keeps your skin looking fresh and not oily or shiny all day.

Death on the Nile (2022 film): I really like murder mystery type films, and I enjoyed watching Murder on the Orient Express (2017 film), but the “sequel” that just came out was even better in my opinion. I loved the 1930’s aesthetic and the Egyptian setting, and the murder mystery itself was really good. Great cast too. I seriously didn’t recognise Russell Brand as Linus Windlesham.

Moon Knight (TV series): And speaking of Egypt, my last favourite this month also partly takes place in Egypt. I love the Marvel series that release on Disney+. I especially enjoyed WandaVision, which I featured in a favourites post last year, and I think I enjoy Moon Knight just as much. It’s so different and interesting, and I’m really excited about the last episode which comes out next week.

Mini crush on Valentine’s Day

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used the limited edition Valentine’s Day palette from Natasha Denona called Mini Crush for my eye look, which was very appropriate, since I wore this make-up look on Valentine’s Day.

That’s the game

Here’s what I wore Monday February 14. It was the first official day of my winter holiday, and I was going second hand shopping. I was really excited about it, because I hadn’t gone in such a long time, but I didn’t purchase a single thing. That’s the game of second hand shopping; sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t.

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m feeling 50/50 about this look. It’s not my favourite eye look I’ve ever done, but I love the lip colour.

House of Stars sale haul

Last autumn I purchased some items from the Danish website House of Stars. They’re all from either Juvia’s Place or Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and they were all on sale.

Let’s start with Juvia’s Place. I picked up two of the 6-pan palettes, The Berries and The Violets, and the Blushed Volume 2 blush duo.

Here’s a closer look at all three palettes. I really like both The Berries and The Violets palettes; I think the monochromatic colour stories are super pretty. I also like the blush shades.

From Jeffree Star Cosmetics I picked up the Star Ranch eyeshadow palette, the Magic Star concealer in C5, and two Velvet Trap lipsticks.

Here’s what the inside of the Star Ranch palette looks like. I actually quite like this colour story; I think the shades go very well together.

I picked up another Velvet Trap lipstick from the Pink Religion collection. It’s in the shade Pink Religion, and it’s a super fun vibrant hot pink. I also pick up a new The Perfect Red, because my original one broke, and it’s one of my favourite red lipsticks.

Mustard lips

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The colour scheme of the outfit gave me the perfect opportunity to wear my mustard lipstick again. It’s just such a fun lip colour.

(Base: primers – Tarte Timeless Smoothing primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch concealer (shade: 3) + Fenty Beauty Bright Fix Eye Brightener (shade: Golden Ivory), powder – Fenty Beauty Pro Filt´r Instant Retouch setting powder in Butter. Face make-up: bronzer – Maybelline City Bronzer in 100 Light Cool, blusher – BH Cosmetics X Doja Cat Flora Powder Blush Trio in Poppy (third shade), highlighter – I Heart Revolution x Disney – Marie highlighter in Duchess. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Anastasia Beverly Hills NORVINA pro pigment palette vol. 5 (shades: A1 + A3 + B1 + B3 + C3 + C4), mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – LA Girl Shockwave Neon Liner (shade: Vivid). Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: Max Factor Colour Elixir universal lip liner + Jeffree Star Velvet Trap lipstick in Extending the Olive Branch)

More contrasting colours

Here’s what I wore Monday February 7. Purple and mustard is not a colour combo, I’ve worn a lot, but I’m really liking it. I guess the two colours work so well together, because purple and yellow are contrasting colours.
