5 favourites – October

Happy Halloween! I can’t believe that we’ll be in November by toworrow. Time really flies. But at this time of the year, I don’t mind, because it only means that we’re getting closer and closer to December and Christmas time, which you might have noticed is my favourite time of the year. But first, I’ll be celebrating Halloween tonight by watching “The Nightmare Before Christmas” while eating Halloween sweets, and I’m pretty excited about that as well. But before I get to that I’m going to share a few favourites from the month of October with you.

Converse Run Star Hike pride sneakers: These have been my go-to sneakers this past month. They’re the most comfortable Converse I’ve ever owned, and I love that they’re a plain white with all the rainbow details. They just go with so many outfits.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose setting powder: I’m still way behind on hauls, so I haven’t posted anything about this powder yet. However, I get why people love this powder, because so do I. It just looks and feels so smooth on the skin all day. I’m so glad that I finally decided to try it out.

Catrice HD Active Performance Freezing spray: I don’t often steer away from Urban Decay All Nighter when it comes to setting sprays, but I have to say that I’ve really been enjoying this spray from Catrice. As it says on the lid, it’s very cooling and refreshing, and I also think it makes a difference when it comes to keeping the make-up in place all day.

Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Vanilla tea: This tea has actually been a favourite for over a year, maybe almost two years, and I can’t believe that I haven’t featured it in a favourites post until now. It doesn’t contain caffeine, so it’s the perfect evening tea, and I drink a cup most evenings. And if you like vanilla, you would like this.

About Time (film): I’d heard and read that this was supposed to be a really good film, but for some reason I wasn’t intrigued by the time travelling premise, but when I visited my parents last week my mum had it on DVD and we decided to watch it, and I’m glad we did. Even though the time travelling is a bit strange, it’s a great romantic story, and it you like those, you would probably like this film.

Under the sea

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wore the I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale Books Ariel palette, highlighter, and lipgloss, and combined they created the perfect look to go with my pink dress and starfish earrings (which will be in my next haul).

Toffee

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing the stunning Huda Beauty Brown Obsessions Toffee palette on my eyes and the Jeffree Star Velvet Trap lipstick in Gardening Hoe on my lips, and they’re a perfect match.

Pleated maxi skirt

Here’s what I wore Tuesday June 22. I don’t get to wear this pleated maxi skirt very often, mainly because I find it a bit difficult to style, but it’s so pretty. And I thought it looked pretty cute paired with the Bambi T-shirt and the strappy, daisy sandals.

Smaller Beauty Bay haul

I have a smaller Beauty Bay haul to share with you today. I purchased these products back in late May, when Jeffree Star released a bunch of new shades of his Velvet Trap lipsticks, so I purchased four of those. I also picked up a couple of other products at the same time.

I had to get two of the red shades from the Velvet Trap lipstick line extension. I picked up RedRum, which I also own in the Velour liquid lipstick formula, the older Lip Ammunition formula, and as the Velour lip liner. It’s my favourite shade of classic red. I also picked up the shade Red Affair, which I also own in the Supreme Gloss formula, and I love that shade too.

The shade that I was most excited about was definitely the shade Extending the Olive Branch, which is a mustard yellow. I’d been wanting a mustard yellow lipstick for a while, so I was so excited to finally have one in my lipstick collection, and I love it. I also picked up the shade Gardening Hoe, which is a muted nude yellow, which is also a shade that I’m really into.

One of the other two products I picked up was the Made By Mitchell Mini Mitchell Vol. 1 palette (& pouch). I really like the Made By Mitchell eyeshadows, and this mini palette comes with some fun colours.

The last product I picked up was a back-up of the Soda #wowbrow Flat Brow Liner in the shade Kim, because I love this brow pencil. It’s one of my favourites.

Purple, green, and triochrome

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m pretty sure this was the first eye look I created with the Natasha Denona Triochrome palette, and I think it’s such a pretty look. I love the colour story of the Triochrome palette; purples and greens look so good together.

(Base: primer – Urban Decay All Nighter face primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealer – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: bronzer – Catrice Clean ID Mineral Bronzer in 010 Light, blushers – MAC Glow Play blush in Totally Synced + Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette in 001 Universal (shade: Blush Pink), highlighter – Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette in 001 Universal (shade: Strobe White). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Natasha Denona Triochrome palette (shades: Vertex + Naga + Tungsten + Kinetic + Andradite) + MAC Nylon eyeshadow, mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – NYX Faux Whites eyeliner in Lavender Blush. Eyebrows: Soda #wowbrow Flat Brow Liner in Kim + MAC Brow Set in Clear. Lips: NYX Suede Matte lip liner in Clinger + Make Up Store lipstick in Pink Bliss Eden)

Colourful and versatile

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This is another eye look that I did with the Natasha Denona Circo Loco palette, and it just shows how versatile of a colourful palette it is.

(Base: primer – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealer – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Warm Rose + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent).
