5 favourites – November

November has come to an end which means that December starts tomorrow! November was a good month, and I slightly started the Christmas festivities this past month. I really can’t believe that it’s December 1 tomorrow, but I can’t wait! As I mentioned in my Christmas jumper haul December is my favourite month and I love everything about Christmas, so I’m sure the next month is going to be amazing. But before we say hello to the last month of the year, let’s say goodbye to November and talk about some favourites.

e.l.f. Eye Refresh: I’ve had a lot of early days this past month and this product has depuffed my under eye area and minimised any darkness. It’s such a great product and it’s very affordable too.

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara: Recently I did a first impressions post on this mascara and my first impressions haven’t changed. I’ve really enjoyed this mascara, and I’m glad I have another sample to crack open when I’ve used up this one.

Benefit Hoola bronzer: This bronzer is hyped for a reason. The colour is great (not too warm and not too cool), it’s really pigmented, and it blends very nicely on the skin. Love it!

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact: This little highlighter and blush duo is right up my alley. The shades are beautiful (and perfect for fair skin), the pigmention is great, and the colours just go with any make-up look which is why I’ve used this compact a lot already.

now-you-see-me

Now You See Me (film): I was ill earlier on this month which obviously wasn’t fun at all, but at least I got to watch some great films I hadn’t watched before. Now You See Me was one of them, and I loved it. If you are into magic and crime fiction you should definitely watch this film.

Christmas jumpers!

I’ve gone a bit Christmas jumper crazy this year. I’ve been looking in stores and online for Christmas jumpers for months now, and when they finally arrived I decided to take advantage of it. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m obsessed with Christmas. December is my favourite month and I love everything there has anything to do with Christmas, and I can’t wait to wear these throughout December (I did wear one the other day; there’s a picture of it on my instagram @muchaluchas). The first one is from the brand VRS which is a brand some of the Danish chain supermarkets carry. I love Christmas trees and I thought the pompons were a fun touch. The second one is from New Look which I ordered off Asos. I thought it was super cute and I love the classic Christmas colours of red, green, and white. The last two are both from H&M. The grey one with the santa was a modern twist on the Christmas jumper with the pop culture reference which I think is awesome, and the red one is the same style of sweatshirt I have in so many other colours and prints, and I just thought this one was super festive. Are you going to wear any Christmas jumpers this year?

Queen Bee

Here’s the make-up I wore Wednesday October 26. I wanted to play around with my Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Queen Bee and this is how my look turned out. Jeffree’s liquid lipsticks are eye safe, so you can use them as eyeliner like I did here. I’ve used a couple of products for this look that I haven’t ‘hauled’ yet, but I will soon so keep an eye out for that.

My first Benefit

dsc_1062dsc_1064dsc_1068

When I was in the Netherlands last month I obviously did a bit of shopping. Besides the products I’m going to talk about now I also bought some great products at the drugstore, but I’ll tell you more about those in a separate post. Today is all about Benefit. I’ve been wanting to try out Benefit’s products for so long, and when I saw this set I had to go for it. It contains the POREfessional primer, Hoola bronzer, Roller Lash mascara and a sample of Gimme Brow brow gel. I’ve heard/read lots of good things about all of these products, so I was/am excited to try them out. I haven’t used the POREfessional primer that many times yet, but it feels nice on the skin and so far I like it. I’m loving the Hoola bronzer which was one of the items I wanted to try out the most. It’s really pigmented and the colour is perfect. I haven’t tried the Roller Lash mascara yet, because I want to finish up the mascaras I’m using at the moment, but this was the other product I wanted to try out the most, so I’m really excited to see if it is as good as people say. The Gimme Brow is a tinted brow gel in the shade 3 medium which is a great shade for me. I’ve used it when going out to add a little extra something to my brows and I really like the way it looks. If you haven’t tried out any Benefit products I think this set is the way to go.

Metallic green

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This metallic green lipstick matched my top perfectly, and I love the way it looks.

That black bomber

Here’s what I wore Thursday October 13. I love this outfit. I’ve said it before but that black bomber is one of my absolute favourite pieces of clothing; it just goes with everything.

(Bomber – WEEKDAY, skirt – Monki, top – H&M, sneakers – Nike)

First impressions: MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara

dsc_1152

My beloved Maybelline The Falsies mascara has sadly been discontinued, so I’m on the hunt for a new favourite mascara. When I received this MAC sample with an online purchase, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it out and see if I liked it.

first-impressions

Right off the bat I have to say I really like this mascara. I think it looks great on my lashes and it layers well (I’m wearing two coats on my top lashes). It has a bristle brush which I like and it is very black as you can see in the pictures. It was somewhat easy to remove from my eyelids without ruining my eye shadow and there was minimal transfer. All in all a very good mascara in my opinion and I might consider buying the full size some time.

Cool-toned neutrals

dsc_0939dsc_0938

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. A simple cool-toned neutral look. As much as I love bright colourful lipsticks I find a grey-toned lipstick like the one I’m wearing in these pictures very beautiful as well.

(Base: primer – Max Factor Facefinity All Day primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15), powders – Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shades: Banana + Vanilla) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shade: Fawn) + The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing powder (shade: 02 fair matte), blusher – Milani powder blush in 01 Romantic Rose, highlighter – NYX Strobe Of Genius illuminating palette (shades: 7). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette (shades: Foxy + Tease + Suspect + Snakebite) + MAC Nylon eye shadow, mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. Lips: Gerard Cosmetics in Underground + MAC Deep Rooted lipstick)

Denim shirt

dsc_0934dsc_0936redi

Here’s what I wore Monday October 10. I hadn’t had a denim shirt in a while, so when I found this one during my summer holiday I thought it was about time I got myself a new one. It’s such an easy piece to style; it goes with almost everything.

(Jeans – Monki, shirt – Only, necklaces – H&M, sneakers – Adidas)

MAC Nutcracker Sweet

dsc_1174dsc_1203

I’m always excited about MAC’s Holiday collections, and this year I was not disappointed. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, and the products are beautiful, so I thought I would show you what I decided to pick up from this year’s collection.

dsc_1185dsc_1206

Obviously I had to have one of the lipsticks, and I chose this beautiful deep purple shade called Leap of Delight. It has a matte finish, and I love how it matches the packaging.

dsc_1187dsc_1189dsc_1190

I also decided to get one of the Magic Dust powders. I chose the shade Yum Yum Yum which is a pretty pink with gold shimmer. It looks beautiful on the skin, and look at the stars in the actual powder! So gorgeous.

dsc_1195dsc_1197dsc_1198dsc_1199

Lastly, I had to get my hands on one of the face compacts. Even though the Copper one was the most hyped one (do to the fact that the highlighter in it is the popular Whisper of Gilt) I decided to get the Peach one because it contains the lighter shades. I wouldn’t say that there’s anything peach about it, but I love it none the less. The Extra Dimension Skinfinish (highlighter) is called Tutu and the Extra Dimension Blush is called At Dusk and both powders are stunning.
