5 favourites – April

Another strange month has passed. I’m still staying home and working from home (like so many other people are right now), and even though I’ve sort of gotten used to it, I miss actually going to work and seeing my friends. But luckily my boyfriend is keeping me company, and I’ve actually not been bored yet. I watch films as usual, and I play a lot of The Sims 4, but I’ve also taking up a new hobby (keep reading to find out what it is). I guess that’s enough rambling for now. Let’s get to my April favourites.

Sort skuldertaske m. Mickey Mouse print - Kidzroom

Black Mickey Mouse shoulder bag: In my February favourites, I featured a new black belt bag which had become my new everyday bag, but I found that it was actually too small for all the stuff I’m carrying around. Then I purchased this black shoulder bag with Mickey Mouse on it, and other than being really cute it’s also the perfect size for an everyday bag.

Blinding highlighter duo

Layering highlighters: My make-up discovery this month is not a single product, but a mix of two products, and not necessarily the same two products every time. I’ve layered highlighters before, but not very often. However, I’ve loved layering highlighters this past month to make them even more blinding. My favourite combo that I’ve found so far is the Milani Afterglow highlighter with one of the MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finishes (Show Gold or Hi-Sequincy) from the Star-Dipped Face Compact from the last holiday collection on top. It’s such a stunning look.

Colouring: My new hobby that I teased about in the beginning of this post is colouring. I remember when this was a trend a few years ago, and people talked about it being calming and relaxing, so I thought now was the perfect time to get in to it, and I really enjoy it.

Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction (film): I have two film favourites this month. The first one is this Tarantino classic. I watched Pulp Fiction for the first time about 7-8 years ago, and it was obviously a very confusing though good experience. Watching it again all these years later was an even better experience. I got to appreciate the unchronological plot and the great dialogue.

Howl's Moving Castle 2

Howl’s Moving Castle (film): My boyfriend loves Studio Ghibli, and I promised him that I would watch Howl’s Moving Castle with him, because it’s his favourite. I was a bit sceptical to be honest, because the animation style isn’t my favourite, and it still isn’t, but the story and the soundtrack of this film was really good; so good that I could look past the amination style.

Neutral with a pop of purple

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used the Huda Beauty Nude Light Obsessions palette for the second time that day, and I think this eye look turned out so pretty. It’s not often that I wear a neutral eye with a pop of colour like this, but I really like it, and that purple glitter shade is gorgeous!

Hercules

Here’s what I wore Thursday April 16. I wanted to wear my new Hercules T-shirt and because of it’s pale blue colour, I decided to pair it with more blue. Oh, and I also wore my dreamy brown knee high boots, which I’d been dying to style again:)

Beautiful olive green

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wore the Essence G’Day Sydney eyeshadow palette, which contains this beautiful olive green shade (the one I’m wearing on the inner half of the lid), but even though I love that particular shade, not all shades are great in this palette (the teal shade I’m wearing on the outer half of the lid is not as pigmented).

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild Photofocus face primer matte + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. Shades of green

Here’s what I wore Wednesday April 15. I bought this skirt last summer, but I hadn’t worn it, because I found the colour scheme difficult to style. However, I suddenly had the idea of styling it with my beautiful chinese jacket, and then I just kept adding more green pieces to the look, and I kind of like how it ended up.

Subtle pink

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used my new Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions palette for the first time, and even though this is a very subtle eye look, I still think it’s really pretty. Huda Beauty shimmer/glitter eyeshadows are so stunning.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild Photofocus face primer matte + MAC Strobe Cream (shade: Pinklite), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Maybelline City Bronzer in 100 Light Cool, blusher – NARS Sarah Moon Cheek & Lip palette in True Story (shade: Unwritten), highlighter – MUA Undress Your Skin shimmer highlighter in Pink Shimmer. In mind

Here’s what I wore Tuesday April 14. I had the idea for this outfit in mind for so long, so I was very excited about finally wearing it. I love the brown, green, and pink colour scheme.

Testing Sephora haul products

DSC_0258DSC_0253

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used three out of four of the products from my latest Sephora haul (the only product I didn’t use for this make-up look was the Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions palette), and my first impressions of the products were great.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild Photofocus face primer matte + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. At-home date night

DSC_0265rediDSC_0266redi

Here’s what I wore Saturday April 11. Now that you can’t go anywhere, my boyfriend and I decided to do date night at home, which gave me an opportunity to dress up. As you can see I wore polkadots on polkadots and bright pink heels, and I felt great in this outfit.

MAC spring sale haul

DSC_0335

A couple of weeks ago MAC had spring sale, so I obviously got a few things. First of all I got another Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Double Gleam in the limited edition packaging from the Lunar Illusions collection. I know it’s crazy, but I love that highlighter so much, and I was sad about ruining the beautiful dragon design, so I bought an extra one that I’m going to keep intact. I also purchaced a back-up of the Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base in the shade Radiant Yellow which is one of favourite primers. Another Prep+Prime product that I purchased is the lip primer (in the limited edition packaging from the Petal Power collection). I’ve never tried it before, so I’m really excited to see if it makes a difference. And then I bought two blushers and two single eyeshadows.

These are the two blushers I’ve purchased. The first one is a matte powder blush in the shade Prism, and the other one is a Glow Play blush in the shade So Natural. Both are nude shades and I’m really excited to use these.

The two eyeshadows I’ve added to my custom palette are Kid and Natural Wilderness. Natural Wilderness is a new shade.

I was lucky enough to get a bunch of samples and free gifts as well. The thing that I’m most excited about is the mini lipstick in the shade Velvet Teddy, which I don’t already own, but I know it’s a popular shade, so I’m excited to give it a try.
