5 favourites – December

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’ll all have a wonderful night. This is going to be the last post of the year, and of course it’s going to be my December favourites post. December was a busy month, but also a great month where I had a lot of great times with friends and family. I’m looking forward to 2015, but before we jump into the new year, here’s 5 of my favourite things from December.

Vaseline håndcreme

Vaseline (healthy hands + stronger nails) hand cream: I use this hand cream every night right before I go to bed (and have done so the past two years), but in the cold months like December where my hands tend to get really dry, I use it during the day as well. It’s a really nice and very affordable hand cream, and it works very well for me. I believe that my nails have become stronger as well, so I highly recommend this hand cream.

Revlon Ultimate liquid lipstick in Top Tomato

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick (colour: 050 Top Tomato): This beautiful red liquid lipstick has been one of my favourite lip products this month, most likely because of the shimmery red colour which is very appropriate for the Christmas season. I like that it dries to a matte finish and it lasts on the lips all day long.

Brødrene Mortensens jul dvd

Brødrene Mortensens jul (TV Christmas advent calendar): Children’s TV Christmas advent calendars is a big thing in Denmark and other Nordic countries. It’s a TV series of 24 episodes where each episode corresponds to each day up until Christmas Eve. They are typically made for children, but a lot of grown-ups watch them too. Personally I’m a huge fan of TV Christmas advent calendars, and one that I watch every year is Brødrene Mortensens jul (The Christmas of the Mortensen brothers).

Winter glow te 3

Pickwick Winter glow tea: I’m a huge tea drinker, but I’ve never really liked Christmas inspired tea flavours, until this year. I’ve been loving this Winter glow tea that tastes like a mix of cinnamon, clove, and orange. Very Christmassy.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas – Michael Bublé: I love Christmas music, and my favourite Christmas song this year has been Michael Bublé’s version of this classic Christmas song. It’s just so beautiful, happy, and Christmassy. That’s all I look for in a Christmas song. I know it might be to late for you to listen to it now, so look at it as a little inspiration for next years Christmas playlist.

Lasting Finish Nude foundation

Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation

I’ve been wearing my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation every day for the past four months or so, so of course I would run out of it eventually. It’s almost empty now, and I’m at my parents’ house for the holidays, and I forgot to bring my back-up of the Bourjois foundation, so I was kind of in the need of a new foundation. One of my sisters recommended the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H foundation which is a full coverage foundation, but because I like a light to medium coverage I went for the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude foundation which is a medium coverage foundation. I got the colour 100 Ivory which was the lightest one in the store, and it’s very similar in colour to the Bourjois foundation. I’ve only worn this foundation twice so far (I’m not wearing make-up much these days), but I like it. It looks good and feels comfortable on the skin, and it lasts a pretty long time, so I quite happy with it. Now I just need to try it out some more, and who knows, I might end up liking it more than the Bourjois foundation.

Pink aubergine

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I love pinks and purples, so I’m very fond of this look. I don’t know if you can see it, but I’m not wearing black mascara with this look. I’m wearing an aubergine/plum coloured mascara, and I think it looks very pretty with the pink eye shadows.

(Eye make-up: base – Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold (65), eye shadows – Stila In the Light eye shadow palette (shade: Bliss) + Sleek Storm eye shadow palette (shades: Perfect Storm + Firestorm), mascara – Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara by Kate in the colour 006 Eye Rock Amethyst, eyeliner – MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White. Lips: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 30)

A berry thread

Here’s what I wore Wednesday November 19. Another casual outfit with the berry colour as a common thread throughout the outfit.

(Denim jacket – Pimkie, jeans – Vero Moda, T-shirt – Fightstar band tee, boots – B&CO)

Red shimmer

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. On my lips I’m wearing the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Top Tomato, and I love it. It has been my favourite more classic red lipstick shade these past couple of months. It has a red shimmer running through it even though it dries matte which I actually think is really pretty.

Jack denim

Here’s what I wore Tuesday November 18. As mentioned earlier, I find my Union Jack cardigan a bit difficult to style, but then I came up with this denim on denim look, and I really like it.

(Jeans – Cheap Monday, cardigan – Costumized for the croud, shirt + heels – H&M, necklace – vintage)

Christmas make-up

Here’s the make-up I wore with my Christmas Eve outfit. I decided to go for a golden/brown eye make-up and a red lip (obviously; it’s Christmas).

(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – MUA Ever After matte eye shadow palette (shade: Fade) + Stila In the Light eye shadow palette (shades: Gilded Gold + Bubbly + Bare), mascara – Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express, eyeliner – MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White. Lips: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 31)
