5 favourites – April

Another great month has come to an end. I went to London with two friends in the beginning of the month and afterwards I went home to spend my Easter holiday with my family. I’ve had a great time in England so far, and I’m really looking forward to May where I have several exciting events coming up. But first things first; here’s 5 favourites from the month of April.

Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro primer: I have to mention this primer that I talked about for the first time in this post. I wrote back then that I loved it, and I still do. It’s the perfect base for any make-up look, because it simply makes your skin look and feel good. This is a product that I would definitely repurchase.

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain (colour: 001 Honey): I only mentioned this particular balm stain a few days ago, but I bought it in the very beginning of April and I’ve been wearing it a lot. It’s just such an easy colour to wear, because it goes with pretty much any make-up look. I love the Revlon balm stains and I wouldn’t mind having all of them in my make-up collection:)

Real Techniques base shadow brush: Last month one of my 5 favourites was the Real Techniques deluxe creash brush which I still love, but this month I’ve opened my eyes to how versitile this base shadow brush is. Obviously it’s perfect for a applying your eye shadow base, but it’s also really great for blending, so some days I’ve been doing my eye make-up with pretty much only this brush.

The Amazing Spiderman 2: I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this, but Spiderman is my absolute favourite superhero (I actuallly don’t care about any other superheroes). I love the Spiderman trilogy with Tobey Maguire, so I was a bit sceptical when The Amazing Spiderman with Andrew Garfield as Spidey was out in 2012. I didn’t watch that one in the cinema, but bought the DVD later on, and I loved it, so of course I had to go to the cinema and watch the second one. I went last Saturday with two friends and guess what… I loved it:)

Pretty Little Liars season 1

Pretty Little Liars – season 1: I would usually end this post with I song that I’ve been listening to a lot the past month, but I’ve been listening to a lot of different music this month and found it difficult to pick out just one song, so I thought I would mention a TV series instead. When my mum visited me in February she didn’t only give me season 1 of Girls, she also gave me season 1 of Pretty Little Liars. I started watching it a few days ago and I’m hooked. At first I didn’t thought I would be as hooked as I am, but it’s really thrilling. All the time you’re wondering what’s gonna happen next, and there’s a lot of cliff hangers which make you wanna watch more. And of course there’s A LOT of love drama as well which I like:)

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit and this balm stain in action. It’s such a pretty pinkish nude colour which is perfect for those who might not feel comfortable wearing really bold colours, and even though I’m obviouly not one of them, I do really like more neutral colours like this one as well.

Almost done

I went for a very simple band-tee + denim outfit on April 3 which was the day I had my last seminar this semester. I’m handing in my second last assignment on Wednesday and starting on my last one the same day, and when that one is handed in, then I’m done with my 4th semester. Time really does fly by so fast.

Slip-ons and creepers

As you can see I bought two pairs of shoes in contrast to all the make-up I’ve bought lately. I’m really excited about both pairs; the slip-ons are obviously a trend piece and no one knows how long they will stay trendy, but I don’t really care. I wanted to get a pair because they looked like a really comfortable pair of everyday flats, and even though I absolutely love heels, I’ve been wearing flats more often the past couple of years, and I thought a pair of slip-ons would be a nice addition to my shoe collection. These are £20 (181,42 DKK – 24,31 € – 33,62 $) at Topshop and I went for the simple black crocodile patterned ones. I’ve wanted a real pair of creepers for years, but you don’t see a lot of them around the Danish stores, so ever since I got to England I’ve been on a hunt for a great pair of creepers. I’ve tried a lot of cheaper versions, but they just doesn’t fit my feet very well, so I was happy to find these at TK Maxx (which is a sort of a chain outlet store for those who didn’t know). They’re from Jeffrey Campbell’s creepers line called The Fabulous Creepers and the TK Maxx price was £39,99 (362,75 DKK – 48,60 € – 67,22 $). I love the dusty greyish blue colour and the fact that they are quite simple for being creepers which I think makes them very wearable.

Getting there

I mentioned in this post how I’m trying to improve my liquid liner applying skills (of lack of them), and I actually think I did a pretty decent job with this look. In general I think this is a really pretty look; I love a bold lip colour with a simple eye make-up.

Some favourite items

Here’s what I wore on April 1. I don’t know why the pictures got a bit blurry that day, but I wanted to post this outfit anyways, because I really like it. I have already expressed my love for the skirt several times, I’m crazy about my printed Primark T-shirts and this Barbie one is no exception, and the blazer is one of my all-time favourite items.

Lace and leather

Mørkeblå lang blondekjole - H&MSort faux læder nederdel - H&M

I bought these to pieces at H&M a while ago. I think the maxi lace dress is absolutely gorgeous, and even though I have no idea when to wear it, it was too beautiful (and too cheap) to leave behind. It was only £10 (91 DKK – 12,19 € – 16,84 $) on sale. I had been looking for a (faux) leather skirt for quite a while, so I was happy to find this one and at a price of only £7 (63,70 DKK – 8,53 € – 11,79 $).

Another neutral palette

You might be thinking: is it really necessary to own yet another neutral eye shadow palette… Well, yes it is! I actually bought this MUA Undressed eye shadow palette before the Barry M one, but I also bought some MUA eye shadow palettes for my two sisters, so I couldn’t make this post until after I had given the palettes to them which (obviously) I have know. This particular palette is supposed to be a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette (the first one). I love the shades and I think the quality is really good considered the low price (it’s only £4). The shadows are quite creamy and easy to apply, so I’m a fan!
