5 favourites – March

The first month of spring will be over by tomorrow, and even though we’ve had a few sunny days in Denmark this past week, I’m still longing for more consistent spring weather. Anyhow, I feel that my appearance has been more springlike, since I’m very into bright colours at the moment (both in clothes and make-up), and that will show through a couple of my favourites from the month of March.

Regnbuestribet dynejakke - Daisy Street

Rainbow stripe puffer jacket: It’s still too cold to wear a light jacket, but at least this puffer jacket feels a bit springlike with the rainbow stripes.

Juvia’s Place The Magic Mini eyeshadow palette: I’m obsessed with this eyeshadow palette! The quality and pigmentation of these eyeshadows are incredible, and the colours are beautiful. If you like colourful eyeshadows this palette is a must have.

Essence Satin Touch blush

Essence Satin Touch blush (shade: 20 Satin Love): I’ve had this blusher for a couple of years now, and I can’t believe that I’ve never featured it in a 5 favourites post. It’s one of my absolute favourite blushers; the nude colour goes with any make-up look, the pigmentation is great, and the satin finish is gorgeous. And it’s extremely affordable!

The Shine Brush by Wet Brush: When I got my hair cut earlier this month, I purchased the original Wet Brush plus the Shine Brush. I’ve loved both of them, but especially the Shine Brush which is perfect for dry hair. If you like me are hard on the your hair when you brush it, try out this brush. It prevents you from damaging your hair from brushing it too hard.

Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt (band): I love listening to a lot of different music, and I have a soft spot for older music. For the past couple of months (but especially the past month), I’ve been listening to this Danish duo who made great music from the late ’70s to the mid ’80s (the have reunited since, but I’ve been listening to their first three records) on repeat. The song above was the first song I ever listened to by Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt, and I’ve been listening to it for years and years. It’s one of my favourites, but to be honest most of their songs are my favourites.

Snake print jeans

Here’s what I wore Thursday March 14. I really wanted to wear my snake print jeans, and I decided to wear them with a corduroy blazer, Friends graphic T-shirt, and white boots. A mix of everything, but I think the outfit turned out fun.

(Jeans – second hand, blazer – Zara, T-shirt – H&M, boots – Topshop)

Collective MAC haul

I recently purchased a few products from MAC, and I thought I would share them with you.

First of all, I’ve bought two limited edition lipsticks. The one in the red packaging is from the Lunar New Year collection, and it’s in the classic shade Ruby Woo (retro matte finish) which I for some reason didn’t own until now. The other lipstick is from MAC’s most recent collection called Boom Boom Bloom, and it’s a limited edition shade called Framboise Moi (matte finish). I also purchased a single eyeshadow in the shade Lime, because I’m obsessed with all shades of green eyeshadow at the moment, and I missed a matte lime green in my eyeshadow collection.

I also got the limited edition cherry blossom Fix+ from the Boom Boom Bloom collection, because just look at it! And then I decided to buy a full size of the Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating base in the shade Radiant Yellow. I have a sample size of this primer and I love it. It gives your skin such a beautiful natural glow.

Zebra

Here’s what I wore Wednesday March 13. A colour combo I’ve been wanting to play around with some more after wearing this outfit is black, white, and pink, so I decided to style my new second hand zebra print jacket thing (I’m not quite sure what it is exactly) with my pink velvet T-shirt. I wore my red boots, because black, white & red and pink & red are two other colour combos I love.

(Jacket – second hand, jeans – H&M, T-shirt – Asos, belt – Pieces, boots – Even&Odd)

Purple and brown

Here’s what I wore Thursday March 7. Purple and brown is another favourite colour combo of mine at the moment (green & brown and green & purple are other favourites). Why did it take me so long to discover this gorgeous colour combo?

First impressions: Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation

DSC_6865

It’s time for another first impressions post. I’ve tried out the Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation, and here are my initial thoughts.

Lige efter applikation kl. 7.30

This first picture was taking right after I’d applied the foundation. I applied my go-to primer (Wet n Wild Coverall primer) to my skin first, because I wouldn’t wear foundation without priming my skin first. I’m wearing the shade Soft Ivory, which is a good shade match for me. The applicator of the foundation is a bit strange; it’s a flat plastic wand, but it works. I blended the foundation out with a make-up sponge as I always do, and the foundation has good coverage, but it wasn’t as full coverage as I thought it would be. I still liked the overall look and finish (matte) of the foundation. The product seemed to oxidised a tiny bit, but nothing too bad.

Efter 11 timer

I wore the foundation for 11 hours, and the picture above was taking right before I removed my make-up. Even after 11 hours the foundation still looked really good. I hadn’t powdered my face, and pretty much only my nose area had gotten a bit shiny. Apart from the fact that the applicator is a bit strange, the only thing about this product I really dislike is its very strong paint like scent, but luckily is goes away quite quickly. I removed the foundation with micellar cleasing water, and it came off very easily. I’m not sure if this Wet n Wild foundation will beat my favourite foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless, but I’ll definitely wear it again.

Green and brown

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m obsessed with this make-up look. How incredible is that green eyeshadow! And the brown lipstick with a green shift – love it!

(Base: primer – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 05), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Physicians Formula Butter bronzer (shade: Light), blusher – Essence Satin Touch blush in 20 Satin Love, highlighter – Milani Strobe Light Instant Glow Powder (shade: Afterglow). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection (shades: White Chocolate + Milk Chocolate) + Juvia’s Place The Magic Mini palette (shades: Buzo + Boronu) + MAC Nylon eye shadow, mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – MUA Intense Glitter eyeliner in Jade Jewel. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: NYX Slim lip pencil in Nude Truffle + Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Metallics lipstick in 30 Molten Bronze)

Complementary colours

DSC_7100DSC_7112

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This make-up look was (obviously) inspired by all the beautiful bright colours on my sweatshirt. I’ve never worn yellow and purple eyeshadow together before, but they’re complementary colours which is probably why they look really good together.

(Base: primers – Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 05), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Physicians Formula Butter bronzer (shade: Light), blusher – Milani powder blush in 11 Blossomtime Rose, highlighter – the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Jeffree Star Thirsty palette (shade: Parched) + Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette (shades: Silk Creme + Royalty + Beam) + MAC Golderod eyeshadow, mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Makeup Geek Full Spectrum eye liner pencil in Orchid.
