I’ve been wanting to try out the L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara for a while, so I decided to write down my first impressions.
It has a rather large bristle brush/wand, but it’s quite easy to use. The mascara claims to give your lashes both volume and length, and I think it does. It holds the curl too. It’s easy to remove from the skin with a dry cotton bud without ruining the eye shadow, and it’s easy to remove completely with regular make-up remover, which are both huge plusses in my book. It only transferred a little unto my eyelids throughout the day, but it really wasn’t too bad. All in all, I really enjoy this mascara, and it’s probably the best mascara I’ve tried other than my favourite Maybelline The Falsies mascara.
Another month has flown by, and we’re now another month closer to December:) The weather has become more autumnal, and I really don’t mind it. I love dressing in autumn, because you can start to layer. There’s also a lot of great textures and colours in autumn fashion, so I’m feeling very inspired when it comes to putting together outfits these days. I do also have a couple of fashion related favourites this month though the might not be particularly autumnal.
Chunky sneakers: Sneakers are my go-to kind of shoes, and these chunky ones from Topshop has been my favourite pair this past month. They’re super comfortable, and I love the slightly odd colour combination.
Trollbeads ring of change: I bought this ring with some money I got as a graduation present (when I got my master’s degree), and I’ve been wearing it a ton. I love that you can costumise it to match your outfit by changing the bead.
Half updo with big hair clip: I featured big hair clips in my July favourites, and I still love them and wear them all the time. This past month, I’ve mainly worn them in this half updo fashion. It’s just such an easy and quick way to do your hair, and it looks cute.
Coco (film): I finally got to watch Disney’s Coco, and I absolutely loved it! I loved the story, the music, and the scenery and colours of the film are gorgeous. I don’t know how Disney does it, but they sure make the best animated films.
Record player: I’d been wanting a record player for a while, and I was very lucky to get one for my birthday last month. I’ve been buying old records at second hand stores, and I’ve been listening to them almost every day, since I got the recond player.
August has come to and end, and tomorrow it’ll officially be autumn, which means that we’ll be one month closer to December. Yay! The weather has turned cooler, and I’m starting to feel the autumn vibes. So let’s say goodbye to the summer with some favourites from August.
Second hand silver earrings: I found these pretty, silver earrings at a flea market this summer, and I’ve worn them so much throughout August. I love the simple, sleek design, and they’re a great addition to my jewellery collection.
Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser concealer: I’d heard so many good things about this concealer, so I finally decided to try it out, and I love it. I still love the Maybelline Fit Me concealer as well, but lately I’ve been grapping this one over the Fit Me.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Thirsty eye shadow palette: This is pretty much the perfect summer palette; it contains all the neutrals you’ll need + some beautiful pops of colour. I’m looking forward to create even more looks with this palette.
Physicians Formula Butter bronzer: This is another product, I’ve heard such good things about, and I rarely buy new bronzers, because I love my Benefit Hoola bronzer so much, but this one is so good. I have the light version, and the colour is perfect for my skintone. It blends like a dream too.
Good Will Hunting (film): In my summer holiday, I bought a lot of DVD’s, one of them being Good Will Hunting. I’ve been wanting to watch this film for a while, and I loved it. I loved the story, and Matt Damon and Robin Williams played their characters so well.
July has come to an end, and what a lovely relaxing and hot month. I’m back home from my holiday, and I’m going back to work next week. I’m also back to blogging more regularly, and I have some great hauls and outfits to share with you. But first, here are my 5 favourites from the month of July.
Red bucket bag: Topshop did an amazing job with this bag. I love the colour and shape, and it holds so much stuff. I also love that you can wear it as either a hand bag or a shoulder bag.
Straw hat: This hat has been great for sun protection, and at the same time, it’s a perfect summer accessory.
Big hair clips: These types of hair clips are very trendy right now, and I see why. They make doing your hair super easy, and they look cute too.
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette: This has been my go-to palette since I got it. You can create endless amounts of looks with it, and the shades are pigmented and really easy to blend. This is definitely a new stable in my make-up collection.
The Breakfast Club (film): I’ve been wanting to watch this ’80s classic for years, and when I finally got the chance a week or so ago, I was not disappointed. If you like ’80s teen films, this is an absolute must-see. I would say that if you’re a film fan in general, this is a must-see.
Another month has come to an end and for me it was the last month of work before the summer holidays. The warm summer weather has returned, and the timing is perfect. I’ll be spending most of July with my family in my parents’ summer house/cottage, so I won’t be blogging everyday, but I’ll still try to blog as much as possible. Anyways, I had a lot of favourites in June, but I managed to pick five, so here they are.
Oversized denim jacket with Pluto print: I’m sure, I’ve expressed my love for everything Disney more than once, and this denim jacket is no exception. Denim jackets are my go-to outerwear in the summer, and this one is so cute and it makes every outfit a little more fun and quirky.
Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Anna Nicole: I rarely feature lip products in my favourites posts, because I wear and love so many different ones, but I had to mention this gorgeous bright orangy-red shade from my favourite liquid lipstick brand. It’s the perfect summer red.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (film): Having a huge dinosaur obsession, I was very excited about the newest addition to the Jurassic series, and I was not disappointed. It was a bit darker and creepier than the previous films, but I really liked that. Oh, and the dinosaurs were awesome.
That ’70s Show (TV series): My dad has talked about this TV series for years, and when I discovered that all 8 season were on Netflix, I decided to give it a go. I’m very inspired by ’70s fashion and home decor, so I knew I would love those parts of the series, but as it turns out, I love everything else as well.
Excuse Me – Salvador Sobral (album): I’ve featured two Salvador Sobral songs in previous 5 favourites posts, and I finally bought his debut album from 2016. I’ve been listening to this album on repeat throughout the entire month of June; it’s so beautiful! The song above is one of my favourites from the album, and I would recommend that you give it a listen.
Tomorrow, it’ll officially be summer, but weather-wise the summer started four weeks ago. I don’t think we’ve ever had weather this beautiful for four weeks in a row in Denmark; at least not in my lifetime. And it appears to continue for a while. Anyways, enough about the weather for now. Let’s talk about my 5 favourites from the month of May.
White bow: When the weather is hot, I wan’t my hair out of my face, and this bow (which used to be my mum’s) has been one of my go-to hair accessories.
White cat-eye sunglasses: I featured these sunglasses in my most recent haul, and they’ve pretty much been the only sunglasses I’ve worn since a bought them. I love the cat-eye shape and the white frame, and they look great with any outfit.
Jeffree Star Velour lip scrub (Mojito): When you wear lipstick everyday like I do, exfoliating your lips is essential. This Mojito-flavoured lip scrub from one of my favourite make-up brands does the job, and it smells and taste incredible.
Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days gel nail colour (shade: Second Skin): My nails have been in a really bad condition lately, so I’ve had to cut them very short. When I have short, broken nails, I don’t like to wear bright nail colours, and instead I opt for a nude, and this is the perfect nude nail colour for my skin tone.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (film): I’m featuring another super hero film this month, but man, this is a great one. I really like the first Guardians of the Galaxy, but Vol. 2 is even better! I can’t get over how cute Baby Groot is.
A ton of beauty youtubers have raved about the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow liquid eye shadows, and as a glitter lover, I had to try one out. I chose the shade Smoldering Satin, which is a brown/taupe with silver glitter.
The eye shadow is really easy to apply. It has a pretty standard liquid eye shadow/lipstick wand/applicator. I used a finger to blend out the edges which worked very well. It dries rather quickly, and it’s really long lasting. It also looks stunning, so if you love an intense glittery look, I would definitely recommend these. I recently bought a second shade, and I would love to add more colours to my (small) collection.
Here’s what I wore Monday April 23. These are the first outfit pictures taken in my new apartment. I don’t know if it’s the best place to take outfit pictures, but it has to do for now.
One of my sisters speaks highly about Essence eye shadows. More specifically the single eye shadows that you can put in a custom palette, and I thought about trying those out, but then I saw some new eye shadow palettes from their Trend Factory collection, and I chose to try out the one called In Love With Rose which is number 02 & Happily Ever After.
When you swatch the shadows with your fingers, the pigmentation seems decent, but as you can see that pigmentation doesn’t translate on to the eyelids; at least not with the lighter shades. They do blend out nicely though, and if you like a more subtle eye shadow look, these are very pretty. But be careful with the shimmery shades, because they have some fall out. The lasting power of the shadows were very good; I took the first picture right after applying my make-up and the second picture 12,5 hours later, and the eye shadows hadn’t changed much at all. Because I like pigmented eye shadows, I probably wouldn’t buy any more of these types of palettes from Essence, but I’m still curious about their single eye shadows, and I might try those out to see if the formula is different.
It’s the final day of April and a very rainy one. April has propably been the busiest month for me this year so far. I’ve been working a lot, and I also moved. I still managed to collect a lot of favourites, and here’s 5 of them.
Rainbow hair pins: I’ve had this colourful hair pins for ages, and I’ve always used them a lot, but I’ve started to use them even more. I’m wearing them here, and it’s one of my go-to hair styles.
Pringles – Paprika: I definitely prefer sweets/candy over crisps, but I do like crisps, and I have found my favourite flavour in these Pringles. They are so good!
iPhone SE: I really needed to get a new phone for ages, and two weeks ago, I finally got a new one. I decided to get my first iPhone, and I didn’t need the newest one, so I went with the SE, and so far I’m very happy with my choice. I’ve always wanted a phone with a cute cover, and I found this awesome dinosaur one on Etsy (if you didn’t know already, I’m obsessed with dinosaurs).
Wonder Woman (film): I finally got to watch Wonder Woman in the beginning of the month, and I loved it. I’m always up for a good super hero film, and it’s so nice to see a strong, female super hero as the main character.
My new apartment: My last favourite of this month is my new apartment. I’ve only lived here for two weeks, but I love it! It’s nice to be out of the dorm and finally have a proper home. The picture is just a small part of my living room, and it’s one of my favourite spaces.
