Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner

DSC_2361

When you are doing your make-up for a night out, it’s nice to do a little extra, and glitter is a great way of doing that. The thing about loose glitter is that it goes everywhere, and as much as I love glitter, I don’t want it all over my face. I had seen several youtubers use the Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter eyeliners on their eyelids, and it looked so quick and easy, so I decided to try it out. I bought the silver one which is called Glam Rock, and it works perfectly. I really want the rest of the colours now!

Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

A while ago I was asked if I did tutorials which I’ve never done, but I thought I’d give it a go. I was asked to do an eye make-up tutorial using the Urban Decay Naked 2, so that’s what I’ve done. Here we go.

1-4

5-8

  1. I always prime my eyelids before I apply any eye shadow. Here I used MAC Paint Pot in Painterly.
  2. Apply Foxy all over the lid to set the base
  3. Apply Tease in the crease (and lower lash line) and blend out. This is your transition shade.
  4. Apply Snakebite on the outer half of the lid (and outer half of the lower lash line) and blend out.
  5. Apply Suspect on the inner half of the lid (and inner half of the lower lash line) and blend out.
  6. Apply Bootycall on the browbone and inner corner.
  7. Curl your lashes (if needed) and apply your favourite mascara (mine is Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express).
  8. You can apply any colour eyeliner you wish on your waterline, but I prefer a nude eyeliner (Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige).

And you’re done! I hope this was useful, and if you would like to see more tutorials, please let me know.

Accent nails

I’ve been a bit boring when painting my nails lately, so I thought I would give myself and you some inspiration. My favourite way to make my nails a bit more interesting is by painting one (or maybe two) of my nails on each hand in a different colour than the rest. It’s extremely easy, it doesn’t take longer than painting all of your nails in the same colour, and it looks good. I guess I just have to come up with some new colour combos and get back in the nail game.

5 favourites – January

The first month of 2016 has come to an end. January has been pretty much the same since I started at Uni. I think this year January has been particulary tough; I had three exam and no holiday because my new courses started last Monday. I’m really tired of the stormy, rainy weather, and I’m in general really looking forward to spring. But we have one more official month left of winter, and I hope it’s going to be a good one. Before jumping into the last winter month, here’s some of my favourite things from January.

Sorte natbukser m. snefnug

Black pyjama bottoms with snowflakes from H&M: I bought these pyjama bottoms the same day that I bought these items, and they came in really handy, when I fell ill while I was writing an exam paper. They are the most comfortable thing I own and they’re so warm.

MAC eye shadow in All That Glitters: This is one of the eye shadows I got for Christmas and I have been wearing it a ton. Most times I’ve been wearing it together with my MAC Satin Taupe eye shadow which has been my go-to eye shadow look this month.

Sleek palet åben 2

Sleek Face Form contouring and blush palette – bronzer/contour shade: I rediscovered the bronzer/contour shade in this little Sleek palette. I haven’t had much time to do my make-up this month, and I definitely didn’t have time to both contour and bronze, and this powder is the perfect in-between.

bourne

The Bourne trilogy (films): Earlier this month I watched The Bourne trilogy with my dad. I’ve been wanting to watch these films for a while, and I thought they were great. They’re the kind of films where you have to pay attention to keep up, but that’s usually what makes a film interesting.

Come Away With Me – Norah Jones (album): I got this album for Christmas (it was on my wishlist) and it’s pretty much the only thing I’ve been listening to in January. There’s not one song on the album that I don’t like. It’s from 2002, but I think it’s timeless if you like this kind of music.

Favourite beauty YouTubers pt. 2

A long time ago I made a post about some of my favourite beauty YouTubers, and I thought it was time to do a part 2.

First of we’ve got Tati also known as GlamLifeGuru. She comes out with new videos almost everyday and they range from tutorials, hot or not videoes, favourites, and videos like the one above where we get to follow her round the drugstore. Her videos are really high quality and her channel is definitely one of my favourites.

Next up we’ve got BeautywithEmilyFox. Emily is a French Canadian girl who shares my love for lipsticks, so obviously I love her lip swatch videos. Her videos also include hauls, favourites and so on.

Jaclyn Hill is probably one of most beauty lovers’ favourites. She’s the queen of highlighting and all of her make-up looks are gorgeous. If you want inspiration for beautiful make-up looks for any occation, check out Jaclyn’s tutorials.

Lastly (at least for now) we’ve got Tara from Tarababyz. She mainly posts haul videos (which I really like watching) and then she has one of the largest make-up ollections I think I’ve ever seen. If you love make-up and you haven’t watched her make-up collection videos, then you’re in for a treat. You can watch the first part above (yes, it’s a two part video).

5 favourites – September

September will be gone by tomorrow, and I can’t believe that the first month of autumn is already gone. I’ve been busy with uni the past month and it’ll continue in October; I have exams in a couple of weeks. I’m also going on an exciting trip in about a week and a half, but more about that later. And now let’s talk about some of my favourite things from September.

DSC_7552

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (light to medium): I wrote here that I loved the three shades I’d tried at that point, and since then I’ve tried the other shades as well, and they’re just as good. This contour kit is really nice, and I’ve used it every day since I received it.

DSC_7351

MAC eye shadow in Satin Taupe: I’d been craving this eye shadow for over a year I think, when I got it for my birthday in August, and I’ve worn it countless times since. It’s so beautiful, and I love how it can be worn both in a very subtle way and in a more intense way.

Sølvøreringe m. hjerter

Silver earrings with hearts: I love rediscovering clothes, or make-up, or in this case jewellery. I got these earrings for my 12th birthday, right after I got my ears pierced, but I’ve never worn them much until this month. I’ve probably worn them 3-4 times a week the past month, and I love how simple and cute they are.

Inside-Out

Inside Out (film): As I’ve mentioned before, I absolutely love Disney films, and I’d heard so many good things about this new Pixar one. I went to see it with a friend of mine in the beginning of September, and it was so good! One of the best Pixar films in my opinion.

Black Magic – Little Mix: I’ve never listened to any other Little Mix songs, and I don’t really listen to new pop music in general, but this song is just so damn catchy. Maybe it’s because it has kind of an 80’s vibe to it?:)

Favourite fashion blogger

I rarely make ‘inspiration’ posts anymore, mainly because that’s what my tumblr is for, but I thought I would start posting people or things that I find beautiful and inspiring on the blog again sometimes. I’ve made a post about the gorgeous Swedish blogger Angelica Blick before, but she’s still my favourite fashion blogger, so I thought I would share some of her newer outfits with you. She always looks great, and I love how her style is very versatile.
