Here’s what I wore Sunday January 14. It was the day of the coronation of King Frederik X (the new Danish king). My parents hosted a little family get-together to celebrate, and we all dressed up for the occasion.
January is always a little tough, but this January has been more tough than usual for me, so this month’s 5 favourites post is going to be short and sweet.
Stine Goya Lotta bag: I put this bag on my wishlist for Christmas with the intension of using it as my new everyday bag, and that’s exactly what I’ve done, and I love it. It holds a lot of stuff, and I love the colourful print.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty Color-Correcting Eye Brightener (shade: Fair): I’m sorry about the bad picture, but it was apparently the only one I’d taken, and I don’t feel like taking a new picture right now. But that doesn’t really matter anyways. What matters is that this is a great, more affordable under eye corrector/brightener. I seem to enjoy every product from the e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty line.
Nee Doh Nice Cube: A bit of a random favourite, I know, but this fidget toy (I guess that’s what it is) came into my life at the right time.
The Batman (film): I’ve got two film favourites this month (I can’t believe that I actually managed to watch two whole films). My boyfriend and I watched The Batman over two nights (because parent life), and I really enjoyed it. Especially the first half.
Bohemian Rhapsody (film): I’d been wanting to watch Bohemian Rhapsody since it released, and finally got around to it a few nights ago. It was really good and definitely worth the wait.
Happy New Year! It’s the last day of 2023 and just as every other year, it feels like this year just flew by. I’d heard that it feels like time goes by faster after you’ve had children, and I agree. The last couple of months have been a little tough, but besides that most of my year was great. I’m hoping for many good days and experiences in 2024, so before we say hello to the new year, let’s say goodbye to the old one with some December favourites.
Pink Crocs Classic Crush boots: December has been a month snow, cold weather, and rain, so I’m so glad I purchased these Crocs boots back in October, because I’ve worn them so much.
Red bow hair clip (H&M): I’ve been loving the hair bow trend this December. This red hair clip version has been my favourite hair accessory to pair with my Christmas outfits.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin serum skin tint (shade: 2): I haven’t hauled this skin tint yet, but I’ve already worn it quite a bit, because I really enjoy this product. 2023 has been the year of skin tints and light coverage foundations for me, and this Danessa Myricks one is a great one, and I’m excited to continue to wear it.
Natasha Denona I Need A Rouge lip styletto & lip crayon in Gigi: I’ve loved these lip products ever since I purchased them earlier in the year, but they’re been such a great red Christmas lip duo. I’ve also worn the lip crayon with other red lipsticks this past month.
Love Actually In Concert: In the middle of December I watched Love Actually In Concert with one of my sisters, and it was incredible. I love Love Actually, and I watch it every Christmas season, and watching it with an orchestra playing all of the music in the film was so beautiful and a completely new watching experience.
I’m going to share my 2023 collective Black Friday haul with you today. It consists of one piece of clothing, three pairs of shoes, one hair accessory, and a bunch of beauty items.
The only piece of clothing that I purchased (and kept) is this stunning, purple blazer from the brand Crãs. It’s a Danish brand and they create really beautiful, colourful pieces. I can’t wait to style and wear this blazer!
It’s been a while since I last purchased a pair of Nike Cortez sneakers. They’re one of my favourite styles when it comes to sneakers, and I really liked this more neutral version with brown details.
I love Monki shoes, and I’ve had my eye on these orange boots for a while, so I had to get them in a Black Friday sale.
My Crocs obsession might be getting a bit out of hand, but I just had to have these Siren Chain Crocs in the dark cherry colour. I wore them here, and I think they’re so fun!
You know I love a head band, and this multi-coloured pearl one from Pieces really spoke to me.
The only skincare product I purchased was the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense 72-Hour Lipid-Replenishing Hydrating face cream, which I got 50% off.
I picked up these three make-up products in the Zalando Black Friday sale.
This is the NYX Ultimate Flamingo Frost shadow palette, and I think it’s a fun take on a Christmas palette. The quality of the shadows was quite nice as well.
This is the Kiko Milano Glow Fusion Intense powder highlighter in 01 Champagne and the 3INA The Color lip glow in 371. Both products look very pretty.
I bought two more products from this year’s holiday collection from MAC. I got the Fizzy Feels lip balm in Shiver Shimmy and the Sparkler eyeshadow in Jingle Tingle.
I got these free gifts with my MAC order.
Lastly, I made an order from Monolith during their Black Friday sale. Monolith is a great place to purchase indie make-up if you live in Europe. The first palette I picked up was the Bellabeautébar Smokey Glam palette. I’ve heard such great things about this brand, so I’m really excited to try out this palette.
Another brand I’ve been wanting to try is Fantasy Cosmetica, so I picked up their Warlock palette. I just love this unique colour story.
Lastly, I purchased the Unearthly Cosmetics Devour Halloween collection, which I’ve been wanting ever since it launched. It includes an eyeshadow palette, a blush-highlighter duo, two lipglosses, three satin liquid lipsticks, and a lip oil.
This is the stunning colour story of the Devour palette. This is the perfect autumn/winter colour story. I even think that I could create a Christmas look with this palette.
How fun and pretty are the shades in the Devour blush-highlighter duo!
These are the two lipglosses and the lip oil. The shades are (from left to right) Havoc, Predator, and Ruin. So pretty!
And these are the three satin liquid lipsticks. The shades are (from left to right) Destroy, Yummy, and Chomp. I can’t wait to wear these.
My favourite month of the year begins tomorrow, and I’m very excited about it, especially because November was a tough month for me. So I could use some Christmas spirit in my life. I did manage to find some favourites this past month, and they’re all make-up and beauty related, so let’s talk about them.
Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blur + Smooth skin tint stick (shade: 02): I love the original Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop blurring skin tint, so I was so excited to try the new Eaze Drop Blur + Smooth skin tint stick, and I really enjoy it. It’s been my go-to foundation to wear on days where I had to go to work very early in the morning, because it’s so quick and easy to apply and blend.
Made By Mitchell Curve Case in Light: This cream bronzer and blush palette from Made By Mitchell is so nice. The formula is great. These creams are very pigmented, but very blendable, and the colours are stunning. I’m excited to get more use out of this palette.
e.l.f. Cosmetics No Budge matte shadow sticks: These are my favourite shadow sticks in my collection. I think I’ve got all the shades by now (so more than the picture shows). They’re perfect for creating quick eye looks, because they’re easy to apply, they blend well, and they do not budge as the name suggests. The shade range is great too.
Catrice Glam & Doll False Lashes mascara: I’ve had this with my mascara back-ups for a couple of years, I think, and I finally decided to try it, and I really like it. I don’t necessarily think that it gives my lashes a false lash effect, but it looks really nice, and it doesn’t smudge or flake. I really like the wand as well.
The Body Shop Totally Tangled Ginger Body Yogurt: I purchased this product years ago, but I didn’t open it until recently. I knew I liked the Body Yogurts from The Body Shop, and I love this spicy ginger scent.
It’s that time of year again. Time for my MAC holiday haul. This year the collection is called Bizzare Blizzard and has this pretty white and silver frosty packaging. Before we get further into the products, I just wanted to let you know that I still have lots of hauls from the end of summer and autumn, but I decided to push those back for a little while, and post my Christmassy hauls as well as Black Friday/Cyber Monday hauls first. Now, let’s get into the MAC holiday products.
I picked up the Frosted Blur face primer in Cool + Clear, which I’m pretty sure is a new product from MAC. It feels like most other blurring primers, so it feels nice on the skin.
I love how many blue eyeshadow palettes (and cool-toned palettes in general) are launching these days. This is the Snowbody’s Business eye shadow palette x12, and it fits the theme of this year’s holiday collection perfectly.
I collect these face compacts from MAC, so even though I have other highlighters similar to this one, I had to get the Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Gleamscape.
This year MAC did not include their classic bullet lipsticks in their holiday collection (at least not as singles). Instead they included three limited edition shades of the Powder Kiss Velvet Blur Slim Sticks, which I also like. I picked up two shades; Merry Cherry (bright red) and Cocoa Kisses (warm brown). Both shades look very pretty and are fitting for the season.
I’d been looking forward to October for several reasons; I had a week long break from work and most importantly, my daughter turned 1 year old. I can’t believe that I’ve been a mother for a year now. Time is crazy. Another thing that’s crazy is that the last month of autumn begins tomorrow, which means that my favourite month is only 30 days away. But first, I’m going to end this month by watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and eating Halloween sweets with my boyfriend and of course with some favourites from this past month, so let’s talk about those.
KVD Beauty Good Apple Skin-Perfecting foundation balm (shade: Light 006): I’d been wanting to try this foundation for ages, and when I found it on sale back in September, I decided to finally purchase it, and I’m glad I did. This is such a beautiful foundation, and it’s so fast and easy to apply.
MAC Skinfinish Sunstruck Matte bronzer (shade: Matte Light Rosy): Before I tried this bronzer, I didn’t know that I needed a rosy toned bronzer, but I did, and I love it. I love the radiant version too, but I’ve worn the matte one the most.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze applicator: I had no idea that ABH made a Brow Freeze applicator, and since the Brow Freeze is my favourite brow gel, I had to try this applicator out. I love that it has a classic spoolie on one end and a flat plastic applicator on the other end.
Essence Holo Bomb effect nail lacquers: It’s no secret that I love Essence nail polishes, and these holographic ones are better than I imagined. And so affordable!
Loki season 2 (TV series): I’ve enjoyed most of the Marvel series on Disney+, and I liked the first season of Loki, but it was a bit confusing. The second season, on the other hand, is so much more interesting and also easier to follow. I’m really excited to watch the rest of the episodes.
I pretty much started September with being ill, and I’m ending it with being ill. And I’m almost never ill. I’m hoping for a healthier October. I’m generally really excited for October. It’s my daughter’s birthday month (I can’t believe that she’s almost one year old), and we have an autumn break/holiday coming up as well. So let’s put this September behind us, and talk about some favourites from the month.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Power Grip primer: If you want your make-up to last all day, this is the primer for you. I’ve had this primer for quite a while, but I’ve been using is more lately. It’s perfect for long work days.
Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer (shade: Light): I’d been wanting to try this product for so long, so when Makeup By Mario launched at Sephora Scandinavia I ordered it right away. It blends like a dream and looks beautiful on the skin.
Ole Henriksen Strengh Trainer Peptide Boost moisturizer: I’d heard great things about this moisturiser, so I was really excited to try it, and so far I love it. The texture of the product is quite unique, but I really like how it blends into the skin.
Maanesten Apsara bracelet: I got this bracelet as a present from my mum on Christmas Eve last year. I loved it right away, and I’ve worn it a lot, but especially recently it’s been one of my go-to bracelets. It’s just so pretty and versatile.
Elemental (film): I didn’t expect much from the newest Pixar film, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how sweet and emotional it was. The story and characters were cute, and I teared up several times.
The last summer month has come to an end, and we’re quickly heading into autumn. A lot of things happened in August; I went back to work after my maternity leave, my daughter started in daycare, and I turned 30. For the past many years, I’d been saying that I hoped to be a mother when I turned 30, and I am, so I’m very excited about entering a new decade in my life. But enough about that, here are my August favourites including a birthday present, some beauty bits, and a film.
Guess watch: My boyfriend (and daugther) gave me this beautiful watch for my birthday, and I’ve been wearing it pretty much everyday since. I was in desperate need of a new silver watch (I most often wear silver jewellery), and this one had a bit of colour and sparkle to it, which is right up my street.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Liquid Poreless Putty primer: The original Poreless Putty primer from e.l.f. Cosmetics is a long time favourite of mine, so I was very excited to try the liquid version, and it’s so good. I might even like this one more than the original one.
Colourpop Pretty Fresh hyaluronic acid setting mist: I have a couple of favourite setting sprays, some which I have repurchased several times, but I do also like trying out new ones, and I’m really enjoying this one from Colourpop.
KAYALI Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 Eau de Parfum: KAYALI is one of my favourite perfume brands, and in my 5 favourites post from June I featured the Eden Juicy Apple | 01, which I’ve continued to wear very often, but this month my most worn scent has been the Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33, which is such a delicious scent.
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 (film): The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are some of my favourite MCU films, so I was so excited to watch volume 3, and it did not disappoint.
Back in March Colourpop had a 30% off sitewide sale, so I obviously had to take advantage of that. I also picked up a handful of other products after the sale, so I decided to put them all into one big haul. Let’s begin with the sale stuff.
I picked up a bunch of palettes. First off, we have the Play It Jewel palette, which is one of the mega palettes. I’m wearing it on my eyes here.
The next palette I got is the Fade Into Hue palette. How pretty is this rainbow palette?!
The Not A Box of Chocolates palette is not my typical kind of palette, but I’d heard good things about it and thought I would give it a try.
This is the Sage The Day palette, which has a beautiful green and neutral colour story.
I picked up five of the monochromatic 9-pan palettes; the Lilac You A Lot, the Orchid You Not, the Ooh La La!, the Uh-Huh Honey, and the Just My Luck.
Here are what the palettes look like. My favourite look I’ve done with one of these palettes so far is the look I did with the Just My Luck palette.
Let’s move on to face products for a moment. I decided to try their new at the time single pressed powder face products and created this custom face palette. I got the lightest bronzer in the shade Avila Beach, three blushes in the shades Why Hello, Big Reveal, and Flamingo, and two highlighters in the shades Cold One and Easy Livin’. This is a very nice travel palette.
I also bought two more heart-shaped pressed powder blushes in Kiss ‘N Tell and Text Me.
My favourite Colourpop products are probably the Super Shock cheek products. This time around I picked up five highlighters, two blushes, and a bronzer. The shades are (from top left corner to bottom right corner) Felicity, Spellbound, Candy Floss, Lunch Money, Flexitarian, Between The Sheets, Prenup, and Get Sandy.
I also purchased this Winx Club Trix Glow Lite Stix set, which comes with the three shades Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. These highlighter sticks are really fun and easy to use.
And now some lip products. My favourite lip product from Colourpop is the Glowing Lip, so I purchased the Glow With It Glowing Lip set, which includes 9 beautiful shades.
For the lips I also got the Disney Designer Collection Lux liquid lip in Flynn.
Then I bought two products from the Pretty Fresh line; the Pretty Fresh tinted moisturizer in Fair 4N and the Pretty Fresh hydrating setting mist. The tinted moisturizer is not the right shade for me, so I don’t know if I like the formula or not, but I love the setting mist.
And now the products I purchased a little later, when the sale was over. I really wanted to buy both the Blue Velvet palette and the Panoramic face & eye gloss in the sale, but they were out of stock. I still haven’t tried the face & eye gloss, but I love the Blue Velvet palette. I’m wearing is here.
Lastly, I picked up a bunch of products from the The Legend of Korra collection, and I’m actually in the middle of watching the show for the first time. I got the palette, the Super Shock highligher, and the four chrome liquid shadows, which are named after the four elements.
Here’s a closer look at the palette and the highlighter called Spirit Wilds. The products in this collection are super pretty. I’m wearing many of them here.
