Girls’ night

Here’s what I wore at a girls’ night Friday April 10. I hadn’t worn this dress in ages and I had forgotten how cute it is. I actually have a lot of dresses I haven’t worn in a while that I really should wear more often. Btw, I know I haven’t blogged much this past week. I’ve been busy, but now I’m back:)

5 favourites – April

I can’t believe that we are about to enter the last month of spring. April was a great month; I had a lot of great times in great company, but I was also quite busy with my studies. I’m sure I’ll continue to be busy, but also continue to have fun in the month to come, but before saying hello to May, I’m going to say goodbye to April by talking a bit about some of my favourite things from the month.

Slip-ons by Topshop: I bought these slip-ons when I was on exchange in England. I loved them then, and I love them just as much now. I’ve been wearing them a lot this month, because the weather has been quite nice.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipsticks: Usually when I feature a make-up product in one of these posts, I pick a specific shade, but I have an incredible hard time choosing between these two gorgeous shades, and I’ve been wearing both equally as many times, so I had to feature both. These are amazing, and I’m so sad that you can’t buy them in Denmark, because I would love to own every single shade.

Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit (highlight shade): Like the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets my sister bought this contour kit for me in London. I haven’t used the bronzing and contour shades that much yet (they’re a bit dark), but I’m loving the highlight shade. I use it to set and brighten my under eye area, and I also like to lightly apply it down the bridge of my nose and on my chin.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: I’d heard a lot of good things about this cleansing water, so when I found it on sale I thought I would give it a go, and I love it. It easily removes any make-up and cleanses the skin. Best cleasing water I’ve tried so far.

rita-660x330

Rita (Danish TV series): I usually don’t watch a lot of TV; I watch films and TV series on DVD, but that’s pretty much it. I’m not a big fan of Danish films, but I do enjoy a lot of Danish TV series. The past month or so the third season of Rita has been on TV. It’s a comedy/drama series about a very outspoken school teacher who deals with everyone else’s problems but her own. She’s single and now that all of her children have left home, she’s having a hard time living alone. It’s a series that deals with a lot of serious and real issues, but is funny at the same time and overall enjoyable in my opinion.

Simply defined

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The eye make-up was a favourite of mine in March; it’s very simple, but still defines the eye. And the lipstick is just the perfect classic, matte red shade that glams up any look.

(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – MUA Ever After matte eye shadow palette (shades: Bare + Fade + Smoke) + Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection (shades: Champagne Truffle + White Chocolate), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – MUA Intense Colour eyeliner in Snow White. Lips: Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lipliner in 001 Universal + L’Oréal Collection Exclusive lipstick in Blake’s Pure Red)

5 favourites – March

The first month of spring has come to an end, and right now I’m enjoying my Easter holiday with my family, so this post is pre-scheduled. March was mostly based around exams and choir concerts in my case, so it was quite a tough month, but it ended with a holiday which was just what I needed:) Anyways, here’s 5 favourites from the month of March.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade: Oh dear, this highlighter is one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe it took me so long to decide to buy it. If you’re obsessed with highlighters like I am, and you don’t already have this one in your collection, you should go buy it immediately.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: I’ve previously had a make-up sponge as a favourite, but that one was not good compared to this Real Techniques one. I love using the flat side to apply my foundation and the tip to blend out concealer.

Rimmel Metal Rush nail polish in 100 Pearly Queen: This is the first time I’ve had a nail polish as one of my 5 favourites which is mainly due to the fact that I usually wear a different nail polish each week. But in the beginning of this month I wore this nail polish two weeks in a row, because I just love they way it looks on the nails.

maleficent

Maleficent (film): I absolutely love Disney films, and I’d been wanting to watch Maleficent since it came out last year, but I didn’t get around to it until this month. It wasn’t at all how I’d imagined it; it was way better! I’ve never been a fan of Angelina Jolie, but I think she’s brilliant in this film, and so stunning.

Disney Piano Collection by Hirohashi Makiko: I believe one of the reasons why I love Disney films as much as I do is the amazing music in them. A couple of months back, I discovered these incredible piano versions of famous Disney songs which I’ve had playing in the background while studying for my exams. They’re just so relaxing and beautiful. There are several more of these types of videos on YouTube, but this one has been the one I’ve been listening to the most. Enjoy!

Holly Golightly, once again

DSC_5933DSC_5934

It’s not the first time I’ve dressed up as Holly Golightly at a costume party. It’s actually my go-to costume, and I think I’ve worn it 4-5 times by now. This time I wore it at a costume party at my dorm Saturday February 28 and I had a lot of fun:)

MAC Toledo

I had been waiting for the MAC Toledo collection to come to Denmark, and when it finally did I was lucky enough to get my hands on the three products I wanted. Before I go further into details about the products (which are all limited edition), I just want to quickly adress the packaging of this collection. It might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I personally love it. I think it’s so cool and different and pretty, and I love the rubbery texture of it.

I was actually a bit in doubt whether I should get one of the ombre blushers from the collection, but when I saw and swatch this one in store, I just had to have. I got the colour Azalea Blossom which goes from a light baby pink into a gorgeous purple. It’s very different from any other blusher I own, and I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

On the other hand I was not at all in doubt whether I should buy these lip products or not. For once I actually fell in love with the lipgloss (or lipglass I might say) at first and then decided to get the matching lipstick. They are both in the colour Oxblood which is a very strange name for nude lip products. Anyways, the lipglass has a bit of a pinky/mauve undertone, whereas the lipstick is a (matte) brown nude with a slightly peachy undertone. Nonetheless, they look incredible together, and I’m really happy I bought both of them.

Lightscapade

DSC_5901DSC_5905

In this post I mentioned that I had bought another highlighter as well, and here it is. I’ve been craving the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade for ages, and about a month ago I finally bought it, and I’m so glad I did. It’s the most gorgeous pearly, champagne shade; perfect for fair skin. You can apply it very lightly for a subtle highlight, but you can also build it up for a more intense look. I know this is not the most affordable highlighter, but I definitely think it’s worth the money. If you’re looking for a good drugstore highlighter, I’ll recommend the e.l.f. Baked Blush in Pink Tastic.

Pink Tastic

There’s nothing like pretty, highlighted cheekbones to complete a make-up look. My favourite highlighter for the past year or so has been the Stila All Over Shimmer Duo Highlighter in Kitten, but I thought it was time to mix it up a bit in the highlight department, so I bought two new highlighters last month. One of them is this e.l.f. Baked Blush in the colour Pink Tastic. The name says it’s a blusher, but it’s definitely a highlighter. I’d heard so many good things about this highlighter, and it really is a great product and so affordable. It has a slight peachy pink tint to it, and you can really build it up if you want an intense highlight, but you can also dust it lightly over the skin for a more subtle sheen. I really like this highlighter, but I like the other one I bought even more, but more about that in another post.

‘Big’ shopping trip

Sorte stretchy skinny jeans - H&MGrå sweatshirt m. multifarvede dinosaurer - H&MMintgrøn sweatshirt m. sorte dinosaurer - H&MSort kimono m. blomster - H&M When I was in high school I usually bought a lot of clothes at one shopping trip, but the past few years my clothes shopping pattern has been more like buying one or two items here and there, but a few weeks back I actually bought four items at once. I unintentionally destoyed my black jeans a while back, so I needed to buy a new pair, and I found a pair of affordable skinny and stretchy ones at H&M, and so far I like them. Several years ago I found a picture online of a sweatshirt with dinosaurs on it, and ever since I’ve been wanting a sweatshirt with a dinosaur print, and as you can see I was lucky enough to find two on my ‘big’ shopping trip. I think both of them are super cute; I’ve worn the mint green one, and I loved it, and I’m looking forward to wear the grey one as well. The last item I bought was the pretty, black kimono in the last picture. It was really affordable, and I think it’ll be great for spring and summer.

Soo glow + fit me

DSC_5823

My mum, sisters, and aunt went on a day-trip to Flensburg about three weeks ago, and my sister bought these two products for me. I love highlighters, so I really wanted to try out the Essence soo glow! cream to powder highlighter. I got the shade 10 which is a champagne colour. It is a cream to powder product, and it looks very pretty when you swatch it, but when you blend it out, it basically just blends out to a lot of shimmer (and probably a bit too much shimmer for my liking). I haven’t played around with it much yet, so I’ll definitely try to find a way to make it work. I also got the Maybelline Fit Me! concealer which I’ve been wanting to try for a long time, but sadly even though I got the lightest shade (10), it’s still a bit too dark for my skintone right now, so I have to wait to use it until I (hopefully) get a bit tanned.
