5 favourites – April

Another strange month has passed. I’m still staying home and working from home (like so many other people are right now), and even though I’ve sort of gotten used to it, I miss actually going to work and seeing my friends. But luckily my boyfriend is keeping me company, and I’ve actually not been bored yet. I watch films as usual, and I play a lot of The Sims 4, but I’ve also taking up a new hobby (keep reading to find out what it is). I guess that’s enough rambling for now. Let’s get to my April favourites.

Sort skuldertaske m. Mickey Mouse print - Kidzroom

Black Mickey Mouse shoulder bag: In my February favourites, I featured a new black belt bag which had become my new everyday bag, but I found that it was actually too small for all the stuff I’m carrying around. Then I purchased this black shoulder bag with Mickey Mouse on it, and other than being really cute it’s also the perfect size for an everyday bag.

Blinding highlighter duo

Layering highlighters: My make-up discovery this month is not a single product, but a mix of two products, and not necessarily the same two products every time. I’ve layered highlighters before, but not very often. However, I’ve loved layering highlighters this past month to make them even more blinding. My favourite combo that I’ve found so far is the Milani Afterglow highlighter with one of the MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finishes (Show Gold or Hi-Sequincy) from the Star-Dipped Face Compact from the last holiday collection on top. It’s such a stunning look.

Colouring: My new hobby that I teased about in the beginning of this post is colouring. I remember when this was a trend a few years ago, and people talked about it being calming and relaxing, so I thought now was the perfect time to get in to it, and I really enjoy it.

Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction (film): I have two film favourites this month. The first one is this Tarantino classic. I watched Pulp Fiction for the first time about 7-8 years ago, and it was obviously a very confusing though good experience. Watching it again all these years later was an even better experience. I got to appreciate the unchronological plot and the great dialogue.

Howl's Moving Castle 2

Howl’s Moving Castle (film): My boyfriend loves Studio Ghibli, and I promised him that I would watch Howl’s Moving Castle with him, because it’s his favourite. I was a bit sceptical to be honest, because the animation style isn’t my favourite, and it still isn’t, but the story and the soundtrack of this film was really good; so good that I could look past the amination style.

5 favourites – March

This has been a very strange, very different month. For the whole world sadly. I’ve been working from home for the past 2,5 weeks, and let me tell you, I really miss going to work. I’m a teacher and I love teaching, but virtual teaching is not to be preferred in my opinion. But it’s better than no teaching at all. I haven’t written much about the current situation at all, and I’m not going to, but I have mentioned that I still get properly dressed and do my make-up every day to stay sane. In fact, I’ve actually been very inspired when it comes to outfits and make-up looks, and I have discovered some new favourites in those departments. So here goes; March favourites.

Topshop hoops

Flat hoop earrings: These flat hoops (I guess you can call them that) from Topshop has without a doubt been my most worn earrings this past month. I always love a good hoop, but there’s something I really like about these ones that makes me wear them all the time.

DSC_9961

Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory): I very rarely find new foundations that I like as much as my favourite Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation, but I think I like this one (also by Maybelline) almost as much as the Fit Me one. It’s the only foundation I’ve been wearing since I did my first impressions one it, and that says a lot.

DSC_9877

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Lust palette: Another Jeffree Star palette, another winner. It’s really hard to beat the JS eyeshadow formula in my opinion, and purple is my favourite colour (and I’m loving purple eyeshadows at the moment), so this is just what I needed in my eyeshadow palette collection.

DSC_9648

MAC Glow Play blush (shade: Grand): This new blush formula from MAC feels like a mix between a powder blush and a cream blush. I’m usually not into cream blushes, but I love this one. The texture, colour, and finish are all stunning.

Luther tv show

Luther (TV series): Now that I’ve had more time on my hands, I’ve also had time to start watching a new TV series, so my boyfriend and I have started watching Luther, and we’re really into it (at least I know I am). We are at season 3 now, and it just gets more and more intense. If you like crime series, this is a good one.

5 favourites – February

For the first time ever since I started my ‘5 favourites’-series in 2014, I forgot to make the post on the last day of the month. So even though it says that this post was publiced on February 29, I actually made it on March 1. I guess that’s what happens when it’s leap year (or maybe that’s just a bad excuse). Anyways, here are my 5 favourites from February.

Sorte støvler m. firkantede snuder - Topshop

Black block heel boots: I’d been without a pair of black ankle boots with a block heel for quite a while, but then I bought these Topshop ones, and I quickly found out how much I’d missed having a pair of all black ankle boots like these. They go with everything, and they’re really comfortable.

Sort bæltetaske - H&M

Black belt bag: I was in desperate need of a new everyday belt bag, because my old leather one was fallen apart, and this one from H&M is a really nice alternative.

DSC_9585

Silver pinky ring: I’ve been adding a few new rings to my collection of everyday go-to rings, and this little hexagon pinky ring from Asos is one of them. It’s really simple and cute, and it pairs well with my other rings.

DSC_9445

MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish (shade: Double Gleam): This is not only the most detailed and beautiful powder from MAC, the shade is also stunning, and I’ve worn it so much this past month. I’m really trying not to ruin the beautiful dragon design.

Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 (film): I thought I had watched this before, but I really don’t think I had. If I had I would have remembered stuff from this film. Anyways, I was very pleasantly surprised by how great it was; I had watched the first two films a few nights earlier, and I think this one was better than the second one (it’s hard to compete with the original).

5 favourites – January

The first month of the new decade will be over by tomorrow, which means that it’s time for the first favourites post of the year/decade. In contrast to many other people, I’ve not had the January blues. I’ve mainly been working, but I’m not as busy as I was in the autumn. All in all, I’m very happy and inspired. I’ve loved lots of things this past month, but I’ve narrowed it down to the following 5 favourites.

Hvide Air Force 1 Sage m. blå, orange og mint detaljer - Nike

Nike Air Force 1 Sage sneakers: I hauled these in the beginning of October last year, but I never got to wear them much until this month. I think they’re really cool and super comfortable, and I’ve had a lot of fun styling them.

DSC_9385

Mickey Mouse ring: This little Mickey Mouse ring was a Christmas present from my parents, and I’ve worn it almost every day since Christmas. It’s definitely become one of my go-to rings.

H&M neglelak (Space Jam)

Pink/bronze glitter nail polish: This is one of the prettiest nail colours I’ve ever seen. It’s from H&M and it’s called Space Jam, and I’m pretty sure my sister has one as well that I borrowed from her last summer. I remember loving the colour, so I’m really happy that I found it in a H&M store, and it was even on sale.

Rocketman

Rocketman (film): I’ve been wanting to watch this film since it released, and man, it was good! The music and costumes were obviously incredible, and Taron Egerton did an amazing job playing Elton John. This is a must-watch film.

Half Way There – Busted (album): This is another Christmas present favourite. I’m a huge Busted fan, and this album is just plain great. I think I like this album better than the previous one, Night Driver (even though I do love a lot of the songs on that album too). It sounds like a mix of the old and the new Busted sounds, and I love that! The song that probably stands out the most from the rest on the album is All My friends, which also happens to be one of my favourites. You can check it out above.

5 favourites – December

Another year has come to an end, and a new year soon begins. A new decade soon begins to be exact. 2019 had it’s ups and downs, though most ups:) New Year’s Eve is not my favourite night of the year; I usually get sad about Christmas being over. However, I am looking forward to be spending the night with people I love. So happy new year, and let’s say goodbye to the old one with some December favourites.

Sort lang uldfrakke - arvestykke

Long black wool coat: I love outerwear, and I have many coats, but I seem to have been gravitating towards this long black wool coat. It used to be my grandmother’s, which is one of the reasons why I love it, but it also goes with every outfit.

Sorte Cortez m. hvide detaljer - Nike

Black and white Nike Cortez sneakers: Nike Cortez is my favourite sneaker style. I have five different pairs, but my most worn ones this past month had been these black and white ones. I love how sleek they are.

Snefnug øreringe

Snowflake earrings: I got these snowflake earrings as a part of my gift advent calendar this year, and I’ve worn them almost every day since I got them. They’re very festive, but still pretty.

Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions palette

Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions palette: This green palette has been perfect for the festive season. I’ve loved all the looks I’ve created with it, and I’m excited to create even more looks with this gorgeous palette.

DSC_8943

Essence The Blush (shade: 10 Befitting): Last month, I featured The Highlighter from Essence, and this month The Blush has been a favourite of mine. Essence is really killing the drugstore make-up game these days.

5 favourites – November

Finally! December is only one day away, and I’m so excited. November was a really tough month for me, but I’ve decorated my apartment and I’ve already worn festive jumpers for a week now, so the next month can only get better. But first, let’s talk about some November favourites.

Brun ruskindsfrakke m. faux fur for - second hand

Brown second hand coat: This coat was a part of my latest second hand haul. I wrote then that it was probably my favourite piece in the haul, and it sure is my most worn piece. It’s got ’70s vibes and it’s warm, and that’s all I want in a coat.

DSC_8948

Essence The Highlighter (shade: 10 Heroic): I posted an Essence haul recently, and I love all the products in that haul, but this highlighter has been my favourite product. It’s such a beautiful highlighter, and I can’t believe how affordable it is.

DSC_8975

The Body Shop Peppermint Candy Cane body butter: Last year in my December favourites, I featured the Peppermint Candy Cane shower gel from The Body Shop. I loved that scent so much, and I was really lucky to get my hands on the body butter in the same scent recently. It’s too bad that it’s not a permanent scent, because it smells incredible (if you like the scent of peppermint and candy canes).

thesims4getfamous

The Sims 4 Get Famous (computer game): I got this The Sims 4 expansion pack for my birthday in August, but I hadn’t played the Sims in months, because I needed a new computer. But now that I’ve finally purchased a new computer, I’ve been playing the Sims again, and I’ve really enjoyed it in general, but I’ve especially enjoyed exploring this expansion pack.

Home for Christmas – ‘NSYNC (album): Last month I featured a old, classic Christmas album, and I’m still listening to that, but this month I’ve really been loving the ‘NSYNC Christmas album, which is actually not that new either now that I think about it. There are so many great songs on this album; ‘NSYNC does the best version of O Holy Night, but some of my most recent favourites include Home for Christmas and The Only Gift.

5 favourites – October

It’s halloween today, which means that October will be over by tomorrow, which means that there’s only one more month left before December! But who I’m a kidding, I’ve been christmassing since the beginning of September. I even have a Christmas favourite this month, so let’s talk about those favourites.

Hvide sneakers m. Anders And - MOA (Master of Arts)

MOA Donald Duck sneakers: I’ve had these sneakers for a while now, and I’ve worn them the other months too, but for some reason they have been my go-to sneakers this past month. I guess they have just been working well with a lot of my outfits from October.

DSC_7264

Maybelline City bronzer (shade: 100 Light Cool): I wasn’t sure I liked this bronzer at first, but the more I use the more I like it. It has a yellow undertone, which suprisingly looks great with a lot of make-up looks.

DSC_5346

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin: I’ve had this lipstick for a long time, and it’s been my favourite nude lipstick ever since I bought it, but I’ve reached for it so many times this past month that I had to mention it. It’s the perfect nude in my opinion.

DSC_9044

Essence This Is Me gel nail polish (shade: 03 Bold): I have an Essence haul coming up, but I couldn’t wait to share this nail polish with you. I love Essence’s nail polishes in general, and this is the most beautiful dark nude shade.

Christmas Songs – Frank Sinatra (album): I couldn’t choose just one Christmas song that has been my favourite this past month, but my favourite Christmas album has been this Frank Sinatra one. I’m a huge fan of old, classic Christmas songs, so it’s no wonder that I enjoy these Sinatra songs. I decided to feature the song ‘Christmas Dreaming’, which pretty much sums up my life right now:)

5 favourites – September

The first month of autumn is now over, which means that we’re one month closer to December:) Work is super busy these days, but the autumn break is just around the corner, and I can’t wait! But first, here are some of my favourite things from the past month.

Rød quilted jakke m. blomstermønster og fløjlskrave - Monki

Red quilted jacket: In my May favourites, I featured the navy version of this jacket, and this red one has definitely become a favourite as well. I just love the quilted fabric, the shape of the jacket, and the corduroy details.

Beige baggy bukser m. lynlåse - second hand

Beige baggy trousers: I bought these trousers second hand about a year ago, and I’ve definitely worn them throughout the year, but this month I seem to have worn them quite a bit. They’re a part of one of my favourite outfits I’ve worn this year (which I’ll post soon), so I think it was about time that I’d feature them in a favourites post.

Hårbøjler

Headbands: I’m a huge fan of hair accessories, and my favourite kind this past month has been the headband. This is just a selection of the ones I’ve worn, and I have a feeling that I’ll continue to wear them for a while.

DSC_7867

Wet n Wild Photofocus pressed powder (shade: Warm Light): I often go for a translucent powder, but I’ve really enjoyed using this coloured powder from Wet n Wild. It’s great for days where I’ve have lots of break-outs, because it provides more coverage than a translucent powder (obviously), but it’s not heavy or cakey on the skin.

Elton John plade

The Very Best of Elton John (record): I found some great records at a fleamarket this summer, among those this Elton John one. It contains two double sided records, and they’re filled with classic Elton John songs. It’s been my go-to record this past month.

5 favourites – August

It’s the last official day of summer today (at least calendar wise), and I have to admit that I’m really looking forward to more autumnal weather. I just find it a lot easier and more fun to get dressed for autumn, because you can layer up and work with different textures. However, when that’s said I’ve enjoyed the summer, and we’ve had incredible weather in Denmark this past week. So let’s wrap up this summer with some August favourites.

Lyseblå jeans m. vidde og Garfield print - H&M

Garfield print cropped jeans: I’ve been obsessed with these jeans ever since I bought them; they’re just the perfect pair of summer jeans. I love the fit and the cute Garfield print.

Sorte mules m. blok hæl - VRS

Black mule sandals: I bought these sandals last summer, and I did wear them then, but I’ve gotten even more use out of them this summer; especially in August. They’re really comfortable and they go with everything.

DSC_8055

L.A. Girl Shockwave Neon eyeliners: I love wearing a bright eyeliner in my waterline, and these ones are super affordable and so good! They’re pigmented and they last all day.

DSC_7071

e.l.f. Brow Pencil (shade: Neutral Brown): I finally decided to try to spend a bit more time on my brows, so I thought I would give a brow pencil a go, and since I love the e.l.f. clear brow gel so much, I decided to try out this e.l.f. brow pencil. As it turns out, I really like this. It’s really easy to use, and I think my brows have looked really good lately.

djangounchained

Django Unchained (film): I’ve been wanting to watch Django Unchained for years, but I have to be in the mood to watch a Tarantino film. It was exactly what I was a few weeks back, and I was surprised by how much I liked this film. But then again with great performances by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio, what’s not to like.

5 favourites – July

July has come to an end which means that my summer holiday is now over. I spent the last three weeks relaxing with my family, which is why I haven’t blogged much this past month, but now I’m back home, I start working again tomorrow, and I’ll also be blogging regularly again. I love summer holidays, but I’m also the type of person who’s excited to get back to work. But before that happens, here’s my July favourites.

Sølvring af manchetknap

Cufflink ring: I went to several flea markets and second hand stores this summer and hauls will be coming up. One of my favourite flea market finds is this silver ring made of a cufflink. The woman who sold it to me made it herself, and there’s only two of them in world, since cufflinks come in sets of two:)

Hjemmelavede perlesmykker

Homemade jewellery: My sisters and I went crazy with jewellery making this summer, and these are the bracelets and ankle bracelets I made. I’ve worn different combinations of these almost everyday these past three weeks, and I’ll probably continue to do so for the rest of the summer.

DSC_8068

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker palette: I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about an eyeshadow palette than I was for this one. 2019 has been the year of colourful eyeshadows for me, and this palette is absolutely stunning. It was one of the palettes I brought with me on summer holiday, and even though I’ve used it a lot, I still haven’t tried out half of the shades. I can’t wait to play even more with this palette.

DSC_7874

Ofra Cosmetics x Nikkietutorials Glazed Donut highlighter: This highlighter is just gorgeous! The colour is perfect and it looks stunning on the skin. Definitely my most used highlighter in July.

Vintage sko

Vintage Shoes – Caroline Cox: I started reading this book years ago, and now I finally had time to finish it. I’ve been obsessed with shoes since my early teenage years, and this book tells you all you need to know about shoes from the 20. century. It was such an inspiring read.
