5 favourites – October

October has come to an end which means that in only one month it’ll finally be December. October was a very busy month for me; I’ve been working hard on my master’s thesis and I also went on a choir trip to Helsinki. In November my main focus will definitely be my thesis, and I’m pretty sure that December will be here in no time then. But first, here are some of my favourite things from the month of October.

Bordeauxrøde 'herre'sko - Duffy

Burgundy Oxford style shoes by Duffy: I bought these shoes years ago, but I hadn’t really worn them much. I started wearing them more this year, and this past month I’ve been wearing them a lot. I love the dark burgundy colour and the chunky soles.

Belsac taske (second hand)

Warm beige shoulder bag by Belsac: I bought this bag at a second hand store in July, and I decided to bring it with my to Helsinki earlier this month. It was the perfect sized bag for a 5 day trip, and as I’ve mentioned before I love the colour and shape of it.

DSC_3702

Juvia’s Place The Saharan eye shadow palette: I expressed my love for this palette in my last post. It’s so gorgeous, and I’m really looking forward to play around with it even more.

FunnyGirl-W

Funny Girl (film): I’d been wanting to watch this film for ages, and I finally got to this month. I started watching it in Helsinki with one of the girls from the choir, and then we watched the rest in Helsinki and Riga airport respectively on our way back home. I already new and loved the music, and Barbra Streissand and Omar Sharif did such an amazing job portraying Fanny Brice and Nick Arnstein.

A.C. Perch Afternoon te

A. C. Perch Afternoon blend tea: When my mum visisted me in the beginning of October, we went to a beautiful tea house and had delicious tea, scones, and petit fours. We tried two different types of tea and our favourite was the Afternoon blend which we purchased a bag of each to take home, so I’ve been drinking a lot of it since.

5 favourites: September

September has come to an end, which means that there are only two more months before it’s December! I’m already super excited about December and Christmas. I really can’t wait! September definitely brought some colder weather with it, but that just means that it’s time for cosy jumpers and cute socks. Here are my 5 favourites from September.

Mickey nattøj

Mickey Mouse pyjamas: These are my new favourite pyjamas. I’m always cold at night, and this long sweatshirt and leggings combo is perfect for keeping me warm + I love a good Mickey print.

Glitter strømper

Glitter socks: Speaking of cute socks, I’ve been loving glitter socks lately. They add a perfect final touch to an outfit. I haven’t posted any outfits featuring glitter socks yet, but I will soon-ish.

EOS Vanilla Mint lip balm

EOS Visibly Soft lip balm in Vanilla Mint: I’ve been using EOS lip balms for years, but I just started using this one in September, and I love the scent. Vanilla and mint might sound like a strange combo, but it works. It smells so good.

Finding nemo

Finding Nemo (film): Until a few weeks ago, I had only watch Finding Nemo once and it was so many years ago, so I didn’t remember much of it. Therefore, I was really excited to rewatch it, and it was so good!

Bones

Bones (TV series): My absolute favourite this past month has been Bones. I’ve been watching it almost every day since one of the last days of August, and I’m almost done watching season 6. I’d watched a few episodes on TV a long time ago, but I’m really enjoying watching it from the beginning and in chronological order. You really get to know the characters and their development through the series which I love.

5 favourites – August

I can’t believe that the last summer month will be over by tomorrow. We have had varied weather in Denmark this past month, but with a nice summer day here and there. I don’t mind that autumn is approaching though; that just means that we are getting closer to December and Christmas! But we still have a couple of autumn months to go through, and also a couple more favourites posts, so let’s start with some August favourites.

Lyseblå oversized denim jakke - H&M

Denim jacket: I’ve been loving this denim jacket since I started wearing it in the end of July. It goes with pretty much any outfit, and it’s been the perfect jacket for the warmer days we’ve had this past month.

Gosh neglelak i Sweet Rose

Gosh nail varnish (shade: 589 Sweet Rose): In the beginning of the month I wore this pink nail varnish two weeks in a row, and I absolutely loved it. I also wore pink nails another week this month, so I guess I’ve just been really into pink nails.

Bodum Travel Mug

Bodum travel mug: My birthday was in August and one of the things I got for my birthday was this travel mug. I had done some research on travel mugs (I knew I was going to spend a lot of time at uni writing my thesis), and this one was supposed to be one of the best ones, and it really is. It’s not leaking the slightest and it keeps the coffee warm for ages.

Newgirl

New Girl (TV series): I had thought about watching New Girl for a while, and I finally decided to give it a go in the beginning of the month, and I got hooked instantly. I finished the fifth season yesterday, and I’m really sad that there are no more seasons on Netflix at the moment. I don’t even know how to begin describing this show, but it’s so sweet and funny, and I absolutely love the characters. Every single one of them. So if you haven’t watched New Girl and you love sit coms, you should definitely give it shot.

It’s Time – Michael Bublé (album): Another birthday present I’ve been loving this month is this Michael Bublé album. I’ve been listening to it countless times, and it just makes me happy. I love all the songs on the album, and here’s just one of my favourites.

5 favourites – July

Today is the last day of my summer holidays, which is sad on the one hand, but on the other hand I’m excited to start working on my thesis. The past month was very relaxing compared to the previous months, and it was just what I needed. I’m looking forward to blog more consistently again, but I have to admit that it was nice spending a little less time on the internet. Before we enter the last official month of summer, here’s some of my favourite things from the month of July.

sorte-culottes-hm

Black culottes: We’ve had varying weather in Denmark this past month and not a lot of really hot days, but these culottes have been great for the warm days. The styling possibilities are endless, and I took pictures of a couple of outfits with these that I’ll be posting at some point.

Lush Honey Kiss lip scrub

Lush Honey Kiss lip scrub: My sister bought me this on a trip to Italy a few months ago, and I really like it. When you wear lipstick on a daily basis like I do, you need to take care of your lips, and a lip scrub is the way to go. There are definitely cheaper alternatives, and you can also make your own lip scrub, but if you want to treat your lips, this is a great option.

DSC_5519

Small black shoulder bag: I think I’ve had this bag for a few years now, and it is my go-to party bag. The reason why I’m featuring it in this month’s favourites is because I wore at a graduation party, out clubbing, and at a wedding, which shows how versatile it is.

DSC_1833

Cat-eye sunglasses: These has been my go-to sunglasses this past month. Big, cat-eye sunglasses reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, and who doesn’t want to feel even the slightest like Miss Hepburn.

Audrey Style

Audrey Style – Pamela Clarke Keogh: Speaking of Audrey Hepburn, my summer read this year was this lovely book about (as the title suggests) Audrey’s style. Even though it was mainly about her fashion, it connected it to her life story, and it was overall a very enjoyable book.

5 favourites – June

June has definitely been the toughest month for me this year so far. I’ve had a lot of exams and some very difficult ones, but they all went well, and now I’m going to enjoy my summer holidays before I start writing my thesis in August. Therefore, my blogging will be inconsistent the next month, but I’ll try to post as often as possible. I wish you all an amazing summer, and here’s some favourites from the month of June.

lysebla-ankel-flare-jeans-hm

Kick flare jeans: When I bought these jeans, I didn’t expect to love them as much as I do. I think they make an outfit look way more interesting, and they remind me a bit of the 70’s, which is awesome. I love that they can be styled in so many different ways. I’m wearing them here and here.

DSC_1827

Silver choker with pendants: This dainty silver choker has been one of my most worn necklaces this past month. I’ve been layering it with my Stegosaurus necklace, and I think they look great together.

Pukka Peppermint and Licorice 1

Pukka peppermint & licorice tea: I love tea, and liquorice is one of my favourites. This is quite an expensive tea brand (my mum gave it to me), but it really is good, and I love the combination of peppermint and liquorice.

how-i-met-your-mother-banner

How I Met Your Mother (TV series): I finally decided to watch HIMYM in the beginning of the month, and I got hooked instantly. I watched all 9 seasons (it was pretty much all I did in the evenings after I was done studying for the day), and I absolutely loved it. I will definitely rewatch this series some time.

Nem Eu – Salvador Sobral: My obsession with Salvador Sobral’s music continued throughout the month of June, and this song is just as beautiful as his Eurovision song. I still don’t understand a single word, but it still manages to move me, and I think it’s incredible when music can do that.

5 favourites – May

By tomorrow it’ll officially be summer. Last week felt like summer in Denmark, but right now it’s windy and rainy outside. May was yet another busy month; the exam period started and I had a big choir concert last week. June will continue to be all about exams, but it is nice to know that this is my last exam period, because I’m going to write my master’s thesis next semester. Even though I’ve been busy this month, I still had a lot of favourites, and here’s five of them.

dsc_1422

Adidas Superstar 80s Primeknit sneakers: I bought these sneakers in a Black Friday sale last year, but because of the light knitted material and the cold Danish weather, I haven’t been able to wear until this spring. I’ve especially worn then a lot this past month, and I simply think they are awesome.

DSC_2557

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Eclipse: You probably know by now how much I love the Jeffree Star Skin Frosts, and this limited edition shade made in collaboration with Manny MUA is gorgeous. If Ice Cold and Peach Goddess had a baby, Eclipse would be it.

DSC_2621

Homemade iced coffee: As I mentioned, I’m in the middle of the exam period, so I’ve been drinking a lot of coffee. In the beginning of the month, I decided to try to make my own iced coffee, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s really easy to make (it’s just coffee, a bit of sugar, milk, and ice cubes) and it tastes so good.

riverdale

Riverdale (TV series): I know I’m a little late to the party when it comes to this Netflix Original series, but better late than never. I didn’t really know what to expect (I don’t know much about Archie Comics), but I was extremely pleasantly surprised. I love crime solving series and some high school/love drama. Actually, I enjoyed this series so much that I watched it twice this month. I can’t wait for season 2!

Amar pelos Dois – Salvador Sobral: I love the Eurovision Song Contest, and I’ve watched it every year since I was little. I don’t always like the winning song, but this year my absolute favourite won. This is one of the most beautiful and moving songs, I’ve ever listened to and my favourite Eurovision winner of all time. Even though I don’t understand a single word (it’s in Portuguese) and still feel every single word, and I’ve been listening to this song on repeat ever since it won the contest. Please, take a few minutes and listen to this song if you haven’t already.

5 favourites – April

We are rapidly moving into the last month of spring, and I really wish the weather would get a lot warmer very soon. Anyways, April was another very busy month for me, and my exams start in May, so I have yet another busy month ahead of me. But let’s say goodbye to April by talking about some favourites.

solv-sneakers-missguided

Silver sneakers by Missguided: I’m so glad I bought these silver sneakers back in December. They add a little extra something to any outfit, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so many complements on a pair of shoes before.

DSC_1955

Jeffree Star Beauty Killer eye shadow palette: Jeffree Star Cosmetics is one of my favourite make-up brands, and I finally bought the Beauty Killer palette a couple of months ago. The shadows are so pigmented, and I love the colours; I’ve actually worn more colourful eye looks this month partly because of this palette.

DSC_1519

Wet n Wild MegaGlo contouring palette in Dulce De Leche: This little highlight and contour duo is very handy. It’s great for travelling, and the powders are matte and very pigmented.

MONSTERS, INC. 3D

Monsters, Inc. (film): On the film front, my 2017 has been amazing so far. One of the best films, I’ve watched this past month, is Monsters, Inc. I’ve watched it once before, but that was years ago, so I didn’t remember much of it. It was so good though, but as the Disney lover that I am, I find it hard to dislike anything Disney.

glee

Glee (TV series): I’ve watched Glee before, but this month I just felt like rewatching it. So I watched the first two seasons and about half of the third season again, and I still love it. I was in my gymnasium’s (high school) choir, which I loved, but I wish it would have been more like glee club.

5 favourites – March

I can’t believe that it’s already the last day of March. I had a very busy, but eventful month. I was especially busy with uni stuff, but I still spent a lot of time with both family and friends, and all in all March was a great month. The weather has slowly started to get a bit warmer which I really appreciate. I had a lot of favourites this month, so it was a bit difficult to pick just 5, but here they are.

sort-velour-bomber-jakke-cardigan-monki

Black velvet bomber cardigan: You have seen this velvet number quite a bit throughout the past couple of months, and you will definitely see more of it. I think I’ve worn it at least once a week during the past month, and it’s just one of my favourite clothing pieces at the moment. It’s so comfortable, and I’m just obsessed with velvet.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

Real Techniques Expert Face brush: I’m a huge fan of Real Techniques make-up brushes and this one was added to my collection in December. I didn’t use it though until this month when I got into contouring again, because this brush is great for blending out your contour.

Spinning hoops

Silver hoop earrings: I’ve had these earrings since I was 18 and I’ve always used them quite a bit, but this month they have been pretty much the only earrings I’ve worn. They go with everything, and they’re good medium sized hoops.

LLL d 29 _5194.NEF

La La Land (film): This year so far, I’ve watched so many amazing films, and in this month’s favourites I had to feature two of them. I had very high expectations to La La Land and I was not disappointed. I teared up so many times during this film, especially when all the amazing music was playing (the first thing I did when I got home from the movie theatre was to listen to the soundtrack on repeat). Through and through this film was just beautiful.

beautyandthebeast

Beauty and the Beast (film): Another film I was extremely excited about was Beauty and the Beast. As you probably already know, I’m a huge Disney fan, and Belle has always been my favourite Disney princess, and Emma Watson did an amazing job portraying her. I teared up whenever a song was playing, and just as La La Land, it was a beautiful film.

5 favourites – February

The last month of winter has (finally) come to an end. I’m tired of the cold, so I really can’t wait for spring weather to arrive. In February I was quite busy with uni stuff, but I managed to find time to see family and friends. March is going to be a busy month as well, but I kind of like be occupied. Anyways, let’s say goodbye to February by talking about some of my favourite things from the past month.

dsc_0783

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain): I did a first impressions post on this foundation back in october. Back then I wrote that I neither loved nor hated this foundation, but it has definitely grown on me. If you have dry skin, this is probably not the foundation for you, but is you have normal or oily skin, I would definitely recommend you try it out.

dsc_1757

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold: Last month my favourite highlighter was the Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess, this month it’s Ice Cold. The Jeffree Star Skin Frost highlighters are amazing, and in contrast to Peach Goddess which is a bit softer but still glowy, Ice Cold is very intense and I love it.

dsc_1637

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Redrum: I rarely feature lip products in my favourites post, because I wear so many different shades throughout a month. But when I wear a certain lip product once a week for a month (or longer) I have to mention it. You might have noticed by now that I’m obsessed with the Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks and my favourite shade is Redrum which is the perfect classic red.

img_1526

Casio watch: I had been wearing the same silver watch since I was 12 years old, so I thought it was about time to wish for a new one. I got this Casio watch for Christmas, and it has been a favourite since I got it, but I’ve worn it almost everyday in February, and I just love the nice and simple design.

9845eca33f7c30db570ee1e787cac492

The Shawshank Redemption (film): Just like in January I’ve watched so many great films this past month, but the one that takes the cake is this 1994 classic. This film has been on my ‘must watch’ list for years, and it was just as great as I’d hoped.

5 favourites – January

The first month of 2017 has already come to an end. Times flies by so fast. My January was mainly exam studying, choir rehearsals and performances, and then I had a bit of time off before the new semester started this week. I hope you all had a great start to the new year, and now let’s talk about some favourites.

dsc_1678

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork: Because I’ve been studying for my exam most of January my make-up routine has been quick and easy, and this cream eye shadow has been the main thing I’ve worn on my eyes. It’s perfect as a base or on it’s own.

dsc_1290

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess: This has been my go-to highlighter in January. It’s a beautiful rose gold-ish colour which almost matches my skin and is therefore less intense on the skin, but still glowy and beautiful (it’s difficult to explain) and I’ve been loving that look.

the-sims-4-city-living

The Sims 4 City Living (computer game): I got the newest expansion pack for The Sims 4 for Christmas, and I’ve been playing it pretty much whenever I had the time. I love playing The Sims so much; it’s one of my favourite pastimes.

footloose-movie-still-1984-660x330

Footloose (film): I’ve watched so many good films this month and the one that started it all was Footloose (the original one of course). It’s just one of those classics that I’d been wanting to watch for ages, and I’m so glad I finally got around to it, because it was great.

Night Driver – Busted (album): Another one of my Christmas presents was Busted’s newest album. As I’ve mentioned before I’m a huge Busted fan, so I was extremely excited to listen to this album. Even though it’s very different from the music they used to make I still absolutely love it. Above you can listen to the song with this same title as the album, Night Driver, which is one of my many favourite songs from the album.
