5 favourites – January

It’s the last day of the first month of the new year. A bit crazy, right? I feels like it’s been a long month, but at the same time, I can’t believe that we’ll be in February by tomorrow. Workwise and pandemic wise it was a very tough month, and I have to say that I’m a little nervous about Denmark opening up the country completely and cancelling all restrictions tomorrow. But on a happier note, I had a lot of favourites this month, but as always I’ve narrowed them down to five. So here goes.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter (shade: 1 fair): I have yet to haul this product, but I’ve been using it for a few months, and I’ve been especially in to it in January. I’ve only used it as a primer so far, and it gives the skin the mosts beautiful glow. I really like the doe foot applicator, and the luxurious feeling of the bottle, however there’s one thing I can’t stand about the packaging, and that is that the small red letters that make up the writing on the front and especially on the back they do not stick to the bottle, and they go everywhere! So whenever I use this product I’m stuggling to remove little red letters from my face. However, the product itself is so good that I just have to live with that.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo CC Cream (shade: Fair 120N): I just hauled this foundation the other day, and in that haul post I mentioned that it was my favourite product from that haul. This is a full coverage CC Cream, which might sound a bit strange, but it really does have amazing coverage, and the finish is beautiful. I’ve already purchased a back up of this foundation.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch concealer: I only think I’ve hauled one of these concealers, but I’ve actually purchased three different shades; 1, 3, and 4. I’m still not sure that any of these shades are my perfect shade, but I can use them all on one way or another, and the product is so good that I’m going to make use out of them. This is a full coverage concealer, and it blends out beautifully and looks great on the skin.

Clinique all about eyes: I have a skincare favourite this month as well. I got a free mini size Clinique all about eyes with a Sephora order a little while back, and I loved it so much that I purchased a full size (the picture). I’m still using the mini though, because a little product goes a long way, but it just softens the undereye area and reduces circles and puffs exactly as it says on the jar.

Eddie the Eagle (film): I watched several great new (to me) films this month, and it was really hard to pick my favourite, but I actually think the film I enjoyed watching the most was Eddie the Eagle. I’d been wanting to watch this film for so long, and this was the month I finally convinced my boyfriend to watch it with me, and as it turns out, he liked too. It’s just such an uplifting story, which is just what I needed this month, and I loved the performances of both Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman.

Huge Cocopanda haul

I have a huge Cocopanda haul to share with you today. This haul consists of products from e.l.f. Cosmetics, Essence, Wet n Wild, and NYX. Let’s kick things off with e.l.f. Cosmetics.

I purchased some products from the e.l.f. Cosmetics Mint Melt collection. I was sadly only able to get my hands on one of the two Bite-Size Eyeshadows, but I’m glad that I at least got one of them. The one I’ve got is in Chocolate Mint. I also picked up the other three shades of the Mint Melt Glosses (I’d already found the Mint Melt Gloss in the shade Chocolate Chip). The shades are Mint Sprinkle, A Hint of Mint, and Mint Chocolate.

Here are some more products I picked up from e.l.f. I purchased two of the Bite-Size Face Duos in Cantaloupe and Watermelon, one of the Putty Blushes in Bahamas, the Camo CC Cream in Fair 120N, and the Stay All Night micro-fine setting mist. I like all of these products, but my favourite so far has to be the Camo CC Cream.

Here’s a closer look at the blush and highlight colours.

Moving on to Essence. I’ve bought three The Big Glam Caring Glitter Lip Glow lipsticks and three Chrome On duo chrome liquid eyeshadows.

This is what the Glitter Lip Glows look like. I picked up the shades 01 Blinging Out Loud, 02 Let It Bling, and 04 Bam, Bling, Glam. I’m not quite sure how I feel about these. They’re definitely glittery, but I wish that they were a bit more opaque.

The shades I picked up of the Chrome On duo chrome liquid eyeshadows are Oh My Chrome 01, Chrome Over, Beauty 04, and Chrom’azing 05. I’ve heard that these transfer if you use them as liquid eyeshadows as intended. However, I’ve used one of them as a liquid liner, which worked very well.

Now, let’s move on to the last handful of items. From Wet n Wild I purchased the Prime & Set Prime Focus The Impossible primer, the Bare Focus Tinted Skin Perfector in Fair, the Color Icon 10-Pan palette in Call Me Sunshine, and the Colour Icon 5-Pan Palette in Camo-flaunt. I love the Impossible primer (I’ve even featured it in a 5 favourites post), but the Tinted Skin Perfector is too dark on me, even though it’s the lightest shade, so I’ve already decluttered that from my collection. From NYX I picked up the Sweet Cheeks Creamy Powder Blush Glowy in Citrine Rose.

I’ve always really enjoyed the Wet n Wild Color Icon palettes, and these new ones are so nice. I’ve loved the looks I’ve created with these palettes so far.

And here’s a closer look at the NYX blush. I really like these blushes from NYX; both the glowy version and the matte version.

Colourful collective Monki haul

It’s time for another Monki haul. This is a mix of sale and non sale items, however I don’t remember exactly which items were on sale and which items weren’t, because it’s been a while since I purchased these things. Let’s begin with tops.

First off, jumpers. I love a good colourful jumper, and I think both of these are so fun.

I love a fitted roll neck top, and both of these are great additions to my wardrobe. They’re perfect for retro inspired outfits.

If there’s something Monki does well, it’s funky patterns and fun colour combos. These short sleeve shirts are perfect examples of just that.

The first T-shirt I already own in purple, brown, and two different shades of green, and it’s just a great basic. I know for sure that I purchased the ramen T-shirt on sale, and I just thought it was cute.

I already own this dress in a lime green and white patterned version, and I love that dress, so I had to have it in my favourite colour as well.

I just love a patterned trouser these days, and I love both of these pairs. The first pair matches the second short sleeve shirt above and paired together they make a great outfit. The blue and cream trousers are great for colour blocking.

I own a dress in this pattern, which I love, so I decided to get the skirt version as well, and it’s so cute.

I wasn’t sure that I would be into stirrup leggings, but I so am. These are so fun, and I’ve loved creating outfits with these.

Lastly, I also purchased two pairs of black patterned tights. I just love a fun pair of tights.

Jeffree Star Pink Religion collection

I know it’s been a while since this collection launched, but I’m still so behind on posts. But anyways, these are the things I picked up from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Pink Religion collection.

The main star (pun intended) of this collection is of course the Pink Religion eyeshadow palette. I really enjoy the Jeffree Star Cosmetics eyeshadow formulas, and I love pink and purple eyeshadows, so I had to add this palette to my collection. There are only three metallics in this palette, which I think is a shame, but it’s still a very pretty palette.

I was really excited to try the new Hydrating Glitz lip balm. It’s a shimmery tinted lip balm, and I picked up the shade Altar, which is described as a mauve pink. It’s quite sheer, but still hydrating and pretty on the lips.

I love the Velvet Trap lipsticks, so I picked up one of the new shades from the collection. This is the shade Always Faithful, which is described as a purple pink berry. It’s brighter in real life compared to what it looks like in this picture.

The last product I picked up from this collection was the Holy Mist Soothing Facial Spray. It has a very fine mist, and it smells great.

Asos 20% off haul

I have a small Asos haul to share with you today. I got everything 20% off.

First I picked up this 70’s inspired floral dress from Asos Design. It’s so cute and comfortable.

I loved Bratz dolls growing up, so I thought this T-shirt would be fun to have in my wardrobe. It’s from Daisy Street.

I prefer to wear biker shorts under my skirts and dresses in the summer, so I picked up these cute floral ones from Asos Design.

I love these Mary Janes! They’re my favourite item from this haul, and you’ve already seen me wear them in several outfit posts. They’re from Asos Design.

Lastly, I have a few accessories to share with you as well. Both the white flower ring and lilac headband are from Asos Design, and the Minnie Mouse headband is from Disney. I use the Minnie Mouse headband every day when I do my make-up.

Collective haul (late July/early August)

It’s time for a collective haul. It’s a mix of shoes, accessories, and make-up. I puchased these things in late July and early August.

I’ve finally gotten around to show you the first pair of Crocs sandals I purchased last year. These are super colourful and summery, and even though I’ve mainly worn them at home, I’ve also worn them at work once and on a brunch date. I never thought that I would love a pair of Crocs, but I love both pairs I own. Btw, the Jibbitz are purchased separately.

I love Nike Air Force 1’s and I love lilac, so this was an easy purchase for me. What can I say, I love these sneakers.

The next three pairs of shoes (and the last ones in this haul) are all from Monki. I already owned the black version of the Mary Janes, and I love them, so I had to get them in white as well. I felt like I needed a pair of lace up boots, and I loved that the shape and heel are similar to the shape and heel of the Mary Janes. And lasty, how could I pass on the black and white checked knee high boots. I love the 60’s go go boots vibes.

Next up, a two pc of 70’s inspired scarves and the prettiest brown, pink and mustard colours. These are from Stradivarius.

And now on to the make-up. I purchased three products from Essence’s summer collection called Vintage Beach. I got the Essence Vintage Beach sea salt hair spray in 01 Salty Hair, I Mist You, the Essence Vintage Beach baked highlighter in 01 Sun, Sand, Me and Vitamin Sea, and the Essence Vintage Beach eyeshadow palette in 01 Sky Above. Sand Below. Peace Within. I’ve already gotten rid of the sea salt hair spray, because it didn’t work at all.

Here’s a closer look at the highlighter. It’s quite subtle, but pretty; I like the swirly design.

The eyeshadow palette is pretty too, and I remember the quality to be nice, but I have to try it again soon to make sure that I want to keep it around.

From Juvia’s Place I picked up the nourishing lip balm in 01 Peppermint, and I’ve used this so much. Peppermint is one of my absolute favourite scents, so I love the scent of this lip balm, but I love the formula and feeling on the lips as well.

Last, but certainly not least, I puchased six of the new (at least they were new at the time) Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks. I picked up Forbitten Fruit (raspberry), I’m Vulgar (metallic magenta), Psychedelic Witch (muted mustard yellow), Deep Pockets (brown with yellow undertone), Special Order (deep yellow), and Cavity (neon doll pink). I think these are such fun and quite unique colours.

Lyko haul (July)

I have a Lyko haul to share with you today. I purchased these items in July lasts year, which is why some of them are tropic holiday themed.

Let’s start with the Catrice Bronze Away to… collection. I picked up the Bronze Away to… eyeshadow palette in C01 Panama, the Bronze Away to… baked bronzing & highlighting palette in C01 Costa Rica, and the Bronze Away to… matte face & body bronzer in C01 Maui.

This is what the eyeshadow palette looks like. As you can see, it’s a neutral palette with a pop of blue. The quality of this palette is lovely; I haven’t tried the blue shade yet, but the neutrals were very nice.

Here’s a closer look at the baked bronzing & highlighting palette. It’s been a while since I used this palette, so I have to use it again soon. It is pretty to look at, and I do like a luminous bronzer.

The matte face & body bronzer is huge, which is probably why I haven’t reached for it much, but it’s a nice shade, and I like the imprint on the product.

Let’s move on to the next three products that I picked up. This was the first time I picked up the Catrice True Skin Hydrating foundation. I chose the lightest shade called 002 Neutral Ivory, but it’s actually a little light on me. I can make it work though, but I’ve since picked up the second to lightest shade called 004 Neutral Porcelain, which is a much better shade match. I featured this foundation in my 5 favourites post from November, so that says it all in regards to my opinion on this product. I also picked up the e.l.f. Hydrating Camo concealer in Light Ivory. I love the matte version from e.l.f., but the shade names in the hydrating range does not correspond to the once in the matte range, and the hydrating shades are way darker than their names, so I’ve already decluttered this concealer. From e.l.f. I also got the Mint Melt Gloss in Chocolate Chip. I’ve since purchased more products from the Mint Melt collection.

These are the last three items in this haul. I picked up one more item from e.l.f.; the Putty Primer applicator. On one end there’s a sort of spoon to scoop up the product and then there’s a brush on the other end. I’ve been using this brush/applicator for my e.l.f. Poreless Putty primer ever since I purchased it in July last year. I also picked a new spoolie. This one is from Essence. And lastly, I picked up a back up of the Essence Mini perfume balm stick trio, because I’ve enjoyed this product so much.

Great BH quality

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This eye look is a great example of how great BH Cosmetics palettes are; their eyeshadows are super pigmented and they blend so well. Also, now that I look at these pictures, I really want to wear that mustard lipstick again soon.

(Base: primers – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – e.l.f. 16HR Camo matte concealers (shades: Light Sand + Fair Warm), powders –  Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: bronzer – Essence The Glowin’ Golds Vitamin E baked luminous bronzer in 01 Live Life Golden!, blusher – NYX Sweet Cheeks matte creamy powder blush in Summer Breeze, highlighter – I Heart Revolution x Disney – Marie highlighter in Duchess. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – BH Cosmetics Chillin’ in Chicago palette (shades: The L + Riverwalk + Deep Dish + Jazzy + Chi Town + Millennium), mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – Marc Jacobs Highliner Glam Glitter gel eye crayon in All That Glitters. Eyebrows: Soda #wowbrow Flat Brow Liner in Kim + MAC Brow Set in Clear. Lips: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Special Order)

Sephora Favorites advent calender 2021

I got two advent calenders in 2021; the Essence 24 sparkling moments of joy advent calender and the Sephora Favorites advent calender. Two calenders at two very different price points. You can check out the post I did on the Essence calender here, and now let’s talk about what the Sephora one contained.

Days 1-6 contained the following products: Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil in How Many Carats?!, Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé matte lip cream in Fearless, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (serum), Maroccanoil treatment, Tarte Maneater voluptuous mascara, and Fenty Skin Fat Water pore-refining toner serum. I already owned the Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb, but it’s a nice product. I’m most excited to try the Rare Beauty lip cream and the Fenty Skin toner serum.

Days 7-12 contained the following products: Good Girl by Carolina Herrera (Eau De Parfum), Benefit Gimme Brow in 3, Erborian Milk & Peel mask, Patchology The Good Fight clear skin mini sheet mask, Huda Beauty Diamond Balm sparkly lip balm in Negligee, and Innisfree Hydrating Sleeping Mask with Green Tea. I used to own the Benefit Gimme Brow so I know I like that. I think the Perfume by Carolina Herrera is beautiful, and it’s smell really good as well.

Days 13-18 contained the following products: Respire natural face wash, Sephora Collection Glossed Vinyl Intense lip lacquer in 06 All-Powerful Red, Too Faced Damn Girl! Mascara, The Original Make Up Eraser, Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze brow styling wax. You might have noticed how obsessed I am with the ABH Brow Freeze; I use it pretty much every day, so it’s nice to have a back up. I’ve already tried the The Original Make Up Eraser, and I actually thought it removed my make-up very well.

Days 19-25 contained the following products: Merci Handy cleansing spray – Lavender & Eucalyptus, Ren Evercalm gentle cleansing milk, Fresh Rose Deep Hydration face cream, Natasha Denona Baby Biba palette, RMS Beauty Buriti bronzer, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk (original), and Juliette has a gun parfums – Not A Perfume + Carré Y perfume necklace. I’m actually pretty excited about most of these products, especially the Natasha Denona Baby Biba palette and the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk. I’m also curious about the perfume necklace. I’ve never tried anything like that.

I admit that this calender is pricey, but I also think that it contains a nice variety of different types of products including both make-up, skin care, hair care, and fragrances. A handful of the products are full sizes, and I think the “minis” or travel sizes are generally very generous. I might consider getting the Sephora Favorites calender again in 2022.

MAC haul – Botanic Panic + summer sale

I have a MAC haul to share with you today. This haul consists of a couple of products from the 2021 summer collection, Botanic Panic, and some summer sale items.

Let’s start with the two products I purchased from the Botanic Panic collection. I picked up the Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Fleur Sure, which is definitely a highlighter even though it comes in a smaller compact (the blush sized compact). I don’t mind though, since you almost never use up an entire highlighter. I also had to get one of the lipsticks and I chose the purple shade called Forget-Me-Naughty.

In the summer sale I picked up a back up of the Cherry Blossom scented Fix+ (this one is from the 2021 Black Cherry spring collection). I also picked up two Powder Kiss lipsticks and a Love Me lipstick.

The Powder Kiss lipsticks are in the shades Ripened and P For Potent.

And the Love Me lipstick is in the shade DGAF.

These last three products were free gifts with purchase. I can already say that I love the Magic Extension mascara, but I’ll be doing a first impressions post on it as well at some point.

I also got the Black Cherry Glow Play lip balm in Pinking of You. The Glow Play lip balms are very nice if you like coloured balms.

And the last gift I got with my order was the Lip Scrubtious in Candied Nectar. It smells delicious, and I really like the consistency as well.
