5 favourites – January

The first month of 2017 has already come to an end. Times flies by so fast. My January was mainly exam studying, choir rehearsals and performances, and then I had a bit of time off before the new semester started this week. I hope you all had a great start to the new year, and now let’s talk about some favourites.

dsc_1678

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork: Because I’ve been studying for my exam most of January my make-up routine has been quick and easy, and this cream eye shadow has been the main thing I’ve worn on my eyes. It’s perfect as a base or on it’s own.

dsc_1290

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess: This has been my go-to highlighter in January. It’s a beautiful rose gold-ish colour which almost matches my skin and is therefore less intense on the skin, but still glowy and beautiful (it’s difficult to explain) and I’ve been loving that look.

the-sims-4-city-living

The Sims 4 City Living (computer game): I got the newest expansion pack for The Sims 4 for Christmas, and I’ve been playing it pretty much whenever I had the time. I love playing The Sims so much; it’s one of my favourite pastimes.

footloose-movie-still-1984-660x330

Footloose (film): I’ve watched so many good films this month and the one that started it all was Footloose (the original one of course). It’s just one of those classics that I’d been wanting to watch for ages, and I’m so glad I finally got around to it, because it was great.

Night Driver – Busted (album): Another one of my Christmas presents was Busted’s newest album. As I’ve mentioned before I’m a huge Busted fan, so I was extremely excited to listen to this album. Even though it’s very different from the music they used to make I still absolutely love it. Above you can listen to the song with this same title as the album, Night Driver, which is one of my many favourite songs from the album.

First impressions: Benefit Roller Lash

I decided to write down my first impressions of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara the first time I wore it, so here goes.

benefit-roller-lash-mascara

It has a plastic brush which I didn’t know how I felt about initially, but I actually quite like the brush and find it easy to use. As you can see it gives your lashes both volume and length and it holds the curl well. It is fairly easy to remove from my eyelids without ruining my eye shadow, but I do find that it transfers a bit to the top part of my eyelid during the day which I obviously wish wasn’t the case. All in all I like this mascara, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed after all the hype. I guess I just expected something extraordinary. I’ll continue to use it, and maybe it will become better with time:)

5 favourites – December

Another year has come to an end and I really can’t believe it. I had a lovely and relaxing Christmas, and I’m looking forward to see what 2017 will bring me. I hope you all have a wonderful night tonight; be safe and take care of each other. Let’s say proper goodbye to 2016 with some December favourites.

dsc_1391

Christmas jumpers: My favourite clothing items this December has been my Christmas jumpers. I’ve been wearing them 3-4 times a week (and everyday the week leading up to Christmas) and I’ve been feeling very festive.

dsc_1008

MAC powder blush in Desert Rose: During winter I love wearing deeper blushers, because it looks very pretty and fresh on pale skin, and this MAC one has been my go-to.

rimmel-neglelak-when-i-grow-up

Rimmel 60 seconds Super Shine nail polish (shade: 514 When I Grow Up): This past year I’ve worn mainly neutral shades on my nails, and this taupe bronze colour is stunning. I wore it for two weeks straight in the beginning of December.

the-christmasaurus

The Christmasaurus – Tom Fletcher: I had this book on my wishlist for Christmas, but I already got it on my gift advent calendar in the beginning of December. I finished reading it a few days ago and I loved it. Even though it’s a children’s novel it’s such a lovely Christmas story.

The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot – Nat King Cole: My favourite Christmas song this year is a new discovery (though it’s an old song). It’s one of the saddest Christmas songs I’ve ever heard, but also one of the most beautiful ones.

You used to call me on my elf phone

Here’s what I’m wearing today. I’m probably going to wear quite a few christmassy outfits throughout the month, so I thought I would post them during December, because it wouldn’t make sense posting them after New Year’s. I still have a bunch of other outfits (and make-up looks) to show you, and I’ll post those in between the christmassy ones.

(Jeans – Monki, sweater – H&M, boots – B&CO)

5 favourites – November

November has come to an end which means that December starts tomorrow! November was a good month, and I slightly started the Christmas festivities this past month. I really can’t believe that it’s December 1 tomorrow, but I can’t wait! As I mentioned in my Christmas jumper haul December is my favourite month and I love everything about Christmas, so I’m sure the next month is going to be amazing. But before we say hello to the last month of the year, let’s say goodbye to November and talk about some favourites.

dsc_0993

e.l.f. Eye Refresh: I’ve had a lot of early days this past month and this product has depuffed my under eye area and minimised any darkness. It’s such a great product and it’s very affordable too.

dsc_1152

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara: Recently I did a first impressions post on this mascara and my first impressions haven’t changed. I’ve really enjoyed this mascara, and I’m glad I have another sample to crack open when I’ve used up this one.

dsc_1072

Benefit Hoola bronzer: This bronzer is hyped for a reason. The colour is great (not too warm and not too cool), it’s really pigmented, and it blends very nicely on the skin. Love it!

dsc_1197

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact: This little highlighter and blush duo is right up my alley. The shades are beautiful (and perfect for fair skin), the pigmention is great, and the colours just go with any make-up look which is why I’ve used this compact a lot already.

now-you-see-me

Now You See Me (film): I was ill earlier on this month which obviously wasn’t fun at all, but at least I got to watch some great films I hadn’t watched before. Now You See Me was one of them, and I loved it. If you are into magic and crime fiction you should definitely watch this film.

Christmas jumpers!

I’ve gone a bit Christmas jumper crazy this year. I’ve been looking in stores and online for Christmas jumpers for months now, and when they finally arrived I decided to take advantage of it. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m obsessed with Christmas. December is my favourite month and I love everything there has anything to do with Christmas, and I can’t wait to wear these throughout December (I did wear one the other day; there’s a picture of it on my instagram @muchaluchas). The first one is from the brand VRS which is a brand some of the Danish chain supermarkets carry. I love Christmas trees and I thought the pompons were a fun touch. The second one is from New Look which I ordered off Asos. I thought it was super cute and I love the classic Christmas colours of red, green, and white. The last two are both from H&M. The grey one with the santa was a modern twist on the Christmas jumper with the pop culture reference which I think is awesome, and the red one is the same style of sweatshirt I have in so many other colours and prints, and I just thought this one was super festive. Are you going to wear any Christmas jumpers this year?

First impressions: MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara

dsc_1152

My beloved Maybelline The Falsies mascara has sadly been discontinued, so I’m on the hunt for a new favourite mascara. When I received this MAC sample with an online purchase, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it out and see if I liked it.

first-impressions

Right off the bat I have to say I really like this mascara. I think it looks great on my lashes and it layers well (I’m wearing two coats on my top lashes). It has a bristle brush which I like and it is very black as you can see in the pictures. It was somewhat easy to remove from my eyelids without ruining my eye shadow and there was minimal transfer. All in all a very good mascara in my opinion and I might consider buying the full size some time.

First impressions: Maybelline Master Strobing Stick

dsc_1029

As I mentioned here, I’m going to share my first impressions on the Maybelline Master Strobing Stick with you, so here goes. As far as I know this product comes in two shades; I have the lighter one which is 100 Light Iridescent. As I wrote in the haul, I’m not that used to wearing cream highlighters, but this seemed like a very easy and quick product to use which it is. I’ve only worn on bare skin so far (not on top of foundation) and it applied very easily. I applied it straight from the stick and blended it out with my fingers which worked very well. All in all it’s very easy to use and it looks beautiful on the skin. It gives a more natural highlighted look compared to many powder highlighters, but for days where you want to wear natural and minimal make-up this product is great. I’m sure you are able to use it as a base for your powder highlighters as well to make you highlighter pop even more.

5 favourites – October

We are quickly moving into the last month of autumn and soon December will be just around the corner (yay!). I’ve been in a Christmas mood since September, so I’m so ready for December, but I have a lot of fun things coming up in November as well. If anyone celebrated Halloween this weekend or maybe today I hope you had/are having a great time, and before we say goodbye to October, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from the past month.

DSC_9976

Adidas ZX Flux sneakers: These sneakers has been my go-to shoes this past month. They’re super comfortable and I think the black and white pattern adds a cool touch to any outfit.

DSC_0141

Urban Decay All Nighter makeup setting spray: This product has been a favourite of mine since I bought it and I use it almost everyday. I’ve been giving a lot of concerts with the choir this month, and it’s been nice to know that my make-up would stay put throughout those concerts (and rehearsals).

dsc_0959

Double Dutch braids/plaits (hairstyle): I’ve absolutely loved this hairstyle for several months now, but I’ve especially worn my hair like this a lot this past month. It just adds a little extra something to any outfit + it’s really comfortable to wear your hair away from the face like this.

dsc_1036

Hagelslag: I know this might be a bit of a strange favourite, but when I was in the Netherlands I discovered hagelslag. I don’t know if any of you know it, but it looks like sprinkles, but it taste different than regular sprinkles and then you put it on bread and eat it for breakfast. I’m especially loving the chocolate ones; they’re so good.

On What You’re On – Busted: I’m one of the people who are really exited about Busted being reunited. I’ve been a huge Busted fan since I was 14 and it’s my second favourite band (McFly is my favourite). When they announced that they were making new music I had no idea what to expect, but this song is amazing. It’s different from the music they used to make, but I still absolutely love it. I love the funky vibe of the song, and it’s just so catchy.

MAC Bangin’ Brilliant lipsticks

dsc_0922

Sorry about the silence on the blog this past week, but I just got home from a choir trip to the Netherlands last night. I’ve missed blogging and I have a lot of outfits, make-up looks and new products to show you. Today is going to be about lipsticks; MAC lipsticks to be exact. I’ve been waiting patiently for the new permanent lipstick range, the Bangin’ Brilliant collection, to launch in Denmark, and when it finally did I decided to purchase three lipsticks (even though I could have bought pretty much the entire collection). The collection is full of fun, different, colourful shades with different finishes though most of the lipsticks are either matte or frost. All three shades I decided to get are matte lipsticks. The shades I picked up are In The Spirit (black), 4Eva (purple), and Deep Rooted (grey brown). I’ve only worn Deep Rooted so far and I loved it. I can’t wait to wear the other shades as well.
