5 favourites – December

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or whatever you celebrate and happy New Year! Another year has come to an end, and for me it’s the end of an era. I handed in my master’s thesis a few days ago which means that I’m saying goodbye to the university after 5,5 years. Even though it will be a month before I actually get my master’s degree, I have already gotten a job, and I start working in just a few days. 2018 is going to be challeging and filled with new experiences which I’m really looking forward to. Let’s say goodbye to 2017 with some December favouites.

Fluffy Christmas socks: Throughout the month I have expressed my love for Christmas clothing, and I’ve loved wearing all my different jumpers and T-shirts. I’ve also loved wearing these fluffy Christmas penguin socks. They’re extremely soft and comfortable and so cute.

Røde støvler m. chunky hæl - Raid

Red boots by Raid: I’ve been obsessed with these red boots in December, and I have a feeling that the obsession will continue. They went so well with most of my christmassy outfits, and they’re a perfect pop of colour.

Maybelline Fit Me Luminous + Smooth foundation

Maybelline Fit Me Luminous + Smooth foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain): My favourite foundation for the past year or so has been the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation, but because I had a rash underneath my eyes, I’ve had to stay away from matte make-up, so I decided to try the Luminous + Smooth version of the foundation, and I’ve loved it.

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Poinsettia: I’ve mainly worn red lipsticks in December, and this metallic dream has been my favourite. Even though it’s metallic, it’s very wearable, and I’ll continue to wear it all year round.

Finding Dory

Finding Dory (film): I finally got to watch Finding Dory, and I was suprised by how great it is. I think it’s even better than Finding Nemo, and I’ll definitely rewatch this film another time.

Merry Christmas everyone

Merry Christmas everyone! I Denmark we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, so here’s what I wore yesterday. I had a lovely Christmas with my family, and today we’re just going to have a nice, relaxing day. I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas.

Black, white, red: Christmas version

Here’s what I wore Wednesday December 6. Another outfit in a black, white, and red colour combination, but this time a more christmassy version. I didn’t take pictures of my make-up for this look, because it was similar to make-up looks I’ve posted before. Because a lot of my make-up looks in December will be very similar, I won’t be posting my make-up looks for all my christmassy outfits, but for some of them I will.

Here’s what I wore Monday December 4. Just like last year, I’ll post my christmassy outfits in December even though I still have outfits from October and November I haven’t posted yet. As I wrote in my Christmas clothing haul, this jumper has my name written all over it. It combines two of my favourite things; Christmas and dinosaurs. What’s not to love.

5 favourites – November

Finally! It’s the last day of November which means that December starts tomorrow. I’ve expressed my love for Christmas at more than one occasion, so I’m very excited indeed. That is also why most of my November favourites are related to Christmas.

DSC_3822

Urban Decay eye shadow in Relish: I’m obsessed with red eye shadow and this one is stunning! It’s so pigmented and blendable, and it complements my Juvia’s Place The Saharan palette perfectly.

Honninghjerte 1

Gingerbread: Gingerbread is one of my favourite Christmas treats. In Denmark we call it ‘honningkage’ (directly translated: honey cake), and it usually comes in the shape of a heart. I’ve already eaten quite a few ‘honningkager’, or ‘honninghjerter’ (honey hearts), this past month.

Arthur Christmas

Arthur Christmas (film): I’ve watched a lot of Christmas films in November, and Arthur Christmas was my favourite. I hadn’t watch it before, and loved it! If you love Christmas and you love cartoons this is a must-watch film.

The Lake House

The Lake House (film): I’ve also watched other films that are not Christmas films this past month. I hadn’t heard about The Lake House before, but it was so good! One of the best romantic films I’ve watched in a long time.

The Christmas Song – Nat King Cole: The song I’ve listened to the most this past month is without a doubt this Christmas classic. The old, classic Christmas songs are my favourites in general, and this one is just so beautiful and festive!

Jeffree Star Holiday Glitter Collection

DSC_4244

As the Jeffree Star Cosmetics fan I am, I was very excited about this years holiday collection. It’s called the Jeffree Star Holiday Glitter Collection and it has the most beautiful packaging! Definitely my favourite packaging Jeffree Star has done so far. I usually buy Jeffree Star Cosmetics on Beautybay.com, but the collection is not on the webside yet. I really wanted to make sure that I got a couple of products from the collection, so I bought these two lip products on the Danish wedside House of Stars. This webside did not have the entire collection, and there’s another Velour liquid lipstick I really want, and maybe one of the lip scrubs, so I hope that Beautybay gets the collection at some point. But let’s talk about the two beautiful lip products I already got.

DSC_4247

First of all, the pink packaging with silver glitter and holographic writing makes my make-up loving heart skip a beat. I know it makes it hard to see the colour properly, but I will obviously post pictures of me wearing it at some point. The Velour liquid lipstick I purchased is called Poinsettia, and it’s a gorgeous metallic red. Perfect for the holiday season. I can’t wait to wear this shade!

I also bought my first ever Lip Ammunition, and the reason why I had to have it is because it is the ‘stick’ lipstick version of my favourite liquid lipstick, Redrum. This Lip Ammo has a satin finish and I hope I’ll love it as much as I love the liquid lipstick version.

Lastly, I just wanted to show you the cardboard packaging the lipsticks came in. They are holographic and I tried to capture it with my camera. So pretty!

5 favourites – October

October has come to an end which means that in only one month it’ll finally be December. October was a very busy month for me; I’ve been working hard on my master’s thesis and I also went on a choir trip to Helsinki. In November my main focus will definitely be my thesis, and I’m pretty sure that December will be here in no time then. But first, here are some of my favourite things from the month of October.

Bordeauxrøde 'herre'sko - Duffy

Burgundy Oxford style shoes by Duffy: I bought these shoes years ago, but I hadn’t really worn them much. I started wearing them more this year, and this past month I’ve been wearing them a lot. I love the dark burgundy colour and the chunky soles.

Belsac taske (second hand)

Warm beige shoulder bag by Belsac: I bought this bag at a second hand store in July, and I decided to bring it with my to Helsinki earlier this month. It was the perfect sized bag for a 5 day trip, and as I’ve mentioned before I love the colour and shape of it.

DSC_3702

Juvia’s Place The Saharan eye shadow palette: I expressed my love for this palette in my last post. It’s so gorgeous, and I’m really looking forward to play around with it even more.

FunnyGirl-W

Funny Girl (film): I’d been wanting to watch this film for ages, and I finally got to this month. I started watching it in Helsinki with one of the girls from the choir, and then we watched the rest in Helsinki and Riga airport respectively on our way back home. I already new and loved the music, and Barbra Streissand and Omar Sharif did such an amazing job portraying Fanny Brice and Nick Arnstein.

A.C. Perch Afternoon te

A. C. Perch Afternoon blend tea: When my mum visisted me in the beginning of October, we went to a beautiful tea house and had delicious tea, scones, and petit fours. We tried two different types of tea and our favourite was the Afternoon blend which we purchased a bag of each to take home, so I’ve been drinking a lot of it since.

First impressions: Juvia’s Place The Saharan palette

DSC_3692DSC_3702

I don’t buy new eye shadow palettes very often, but I’d heard so many good things about the Juvia’s Place eye shadows, so I had to try them out and thought I would share my first impressions with you. I chose to purchase The Saharan palette, because I was so drawn to the beautiful autumnal colours.

DSC_3772

As you can see on my arm swatches, the pigmentation of the shadows is amazing and very consistent throughout the entire palette. The palette contains four matte shades and eight shimmery/metallic shades. The shadows have minimal fall-out and they are very blendable.

Juvia's Place The Saharan

Picture 1 was taken shortly after I’d applied the eye shadows. I’m wearing the following shades: Katsina, Bororo, Fula, and Iman. The day I wore the eye shadows for the first time it was raining, but the water didn’t ruin the eye shadows. Picture 2 was taken about 12 hours later (excuse the oily skin) and the eye shadows still looked great and they hadn’t creased. The eye shadows was easily removed with regular eye make-up remover. To sum-up, this palette is just as good as people say. I’ve used it a ton since these pictures were taken, and if you love beautiful warm-toned eye shadows, you should definitely try out this palette.

Princess Cut + The Saharan

DSC_3674DSC_3690DSC_3702

I’ve been wanting the Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Princess Cut ever since it came out, and when Beautybay.com had a Jeffree Star Cosmetics sale a little while back, it was the perfect reason for me to finally buy it. Beautybay.com also recently started carying the brand Juvia’s Place, and I’ve heard so many good things about Juvia’s Place eye shadows, so I decided to treat myself to one of their eye shadow palettes. I chose The Saharan palette, which is the perfect autumn/winter palette, and I’ll be making a ‘first impressions’ post on it soon.

Ruffle sleeves

DSC_3465rediDSC_3464redi

Here’s what I wore Monday September 4. I think the knitted top is super cute; I love the ruffle sleeves and all the different coloured stripes.

By the way, I just got back from a choir trip to Helsinki (Finland) yesterday, which is why I haven’t blogged the past week or so.
