I’m back

DSC_4952DSC_4953

Here’s what I wore Tuesday March 6. It has finally become spring in Denmark, so it’s a bit weird to look back at outfits like this one from just a month ago, when it was super cold outside.

Btw, the reason why I haven’t blogged the past week is because I moved into a new apartment, and I just got an internet connection today.

(Trousers – H&M, waistcoat + roll neck top – second hand, belt – Asos, boots – Truffle Collection)

Film style icon: Tony Manero

It’s been quite a while since I last made a film style icon post. So far, I’ve only featured stylish film women (apart from the honorable mention of Duckie Dale), but I thought it was time to talk about a super stylish male film character. You might have noticed my love for ’70s fashion, and no one is more stylish than John Travolta’s Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever (1977).

The iconic opening scene of the film features Tony Manero strutting down the street in an awesome black and red outfit. I love the huge shirt collars of the ’70s and of course the flared trousers.

This pink outfit is my absolute favourite! I want those pink trousers so bad! The silky shirt is beautiful too, and I love that he’s wearing a dark red leather jacket with the look.

And of course, I had to feature Tony’s iconic white suit. I would love a suit similar to this one. I don’t know if I could pull off the white, but Tony sure does.

5 favourites – March

The first month of spring (though the weather wasn’t spring-like at all) has come to an end. At the moment, I’m enjoying my easter holiday, but most of March was all about work for me. I’m super excited about April, because I’m moving into a new apartment in two weeks! I can’t wait to get more space and to decorate my new home. But before welcoming April, let’s say goodbye to March with some favourites.

Støvet khakigrønne fløjlsbukser m. vide - second hand

Flared corduroy trousers vol. 2: My corduroy obsession is still going strong. These trousers that I found in the men’s section at a second hand store are just perfect, and I’ve worn them so much.

Blommefarvet pelset beret

Faux fur beret: My beret collection is also growing, and the newest addition has been my go-to hat this past month. I love the plum colour and the fact that it’s fluffy. It’s such a nice accessory.

Troll Beads armbånd

Troll Beads bangle: When I got my master’s degree in late January, my parents gave me this beautiful Troll Beads bangle + the two black glass beads. My sister and her boyfriend gave me the silver bead (+ another glass bead). I love the ability to costumise your jewellery, and I’m really looking forward to extending my Troll Beads collection.

moana-intro

Moana (film): I finally got to watch Moana, and I loved it. I find it to be a very aesthetically pleasing film, and the songs are great!

CHCHdotcom_Sliders_WhiteCollar

White Collar (Tv series): I can’t believe it took me so long to finally start watching this TV series. I was hooked from pilot episode; I love the characters and especially the relationship between Neal and Peter, and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series.

First impressions: L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Fatale mascara

DSC_4830

I’ve tested yet another mascara. This is the L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Fatale mascara, and here are my first impressions on it.

First impressions

It has a plastic/rubber wand, and even though I prefer a bristle brush, I find this one easy to use. My lashes look long, black, and voluminous, and it holds the curl. It’s quite easy to remove from the skin with a dry cotton bud without ruining the eye shadow, and it’s easy to remove completely with regular make-up remover. It did transfer unto my eyelids throughout the day, but it wasn’t too bad. It’s still not close to being as good as my favourite mascara (Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express), but it’s not a bad mascara.

First impressions: Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Indecent Black mascara

DSC_4669

The great mascara hunt continues. This Maybelline mascara actually has the name of my favourite mascara (The Falsies) in it, which made it sound promising. I put it to the test, and here are my first impressions.

First impressions Maybelline Push Up Drama

The brush/wand is very big and difficult to use, but my lashes look super long. The formula is very liquidy, and it’s difficult to remove from the skin without ruining the rest of my make-up (it’s practically impossible). It transfers onto the skin throughout the day, which, as I’ve mentioned before, is a huge problem for me. It’s easy to remove though, but all in all they’re too many cons for me to keep using this mascara, even though it initially looks really good.

5 favourites – February

Tomorrow, we enter the first month of spring, though the Danish weather is bloody freezing. I’m craving spring so bad! Even though February is the shortest month of the year, mine still felt quite long. My February consisted of a lot work, but also a holiday which was very much needed. My 5 favourites from February are all fashion related, and I’m sure they’ll continue to be favourites next month as well.

Beige shearling fløjlsjakke - H&M

Oversized shearling corduroy coat: My obsession with corduroy continues, and this coat is incredible. It’s been my most worn coat this past month, and I love everything about it!

Mørkeblå kick flare jeans - H&M

Dark blue kick flare jeans: You’ve probably noticed how much I love flared trousers, and these dark blue kick flare jeans are so perfect! They’re high-waisted and cropped, and I love the way they fit.

Sorte støvler m. snørre og spænder - Asos

Black suede lace up boots: I’m so glad, I bought these boots. Because of the cold Danish weather, boots are very much needed, and these go with so many different outfits.

DSC_4643

Zebra print belt: I’ve always liked zebra print, and this belt is the perfect way of adding a bit of zebra print to your outfit. Because of the black and white colours, it goes with pretty much everything, and it’s just a lot of fun.

DSC_4543

Dinosaur earrings: I love dinosaurs! I’ve most likely mentioned that before. I’ve been wanting a pair of dinosaur earrings in absolute ages, and my sister got me these for Christmas. They’re probably Brachiosauruses (which is one of my favourite dinosaurs), and they’re just adorable.

First impressions: RCMA No-Color Powder

DSC_4220

I’d watched many youtubers talk about the RCMA No-Color Powder, so I thought I would see what the fuss is about. It definitely does not have any colour. It’s completely translucent and it feels very lightweight on the skin. It makes your skin look matte, but not dry which is great. I wore it for an entire day without touching up and my skin wasn’t particularly shiny at the end of the day, but if I were to go somewhere in the afternoon/evening I would do a light touch up. All in all, I really like this powder, but I don’t find it to be mind-blowing.

5 favourites – January

How are we already one month into 2018? I’ve been very busy starting my new job this month, and I just got the grade for my master’s thesis today, so now I have a master’s degree. I still can’t believe it. I hope you had a good start to the new year. I had a lot of favourites this month, but I’ve managed to narrow it down to five.

Vinrøde fløjlsbukser m. vide - H&M

Flared corduroy trousers: I’ve been obsessed with these amazing trousers this past month. The styling options are endless, and they’re really warm and comfortable too.

Sort bæltetaske

Black leather belt bag: I’d been wanting a simple belt bag like this one for a while, and I love it. It’s my new everyday bag. I wear it crossbody, and it’s not heavy, but it still fits a lot of stuff.

DSC_4537

Silver plait ring by Jane Kønig: I’ve worn this ring almost everyday since I got it for Christmas. I love the simple, plaited design.

MAC Ricepaper 3

MAC eye shadow in Ricepaper: I’ve mostly worn very simple, neutral eye make-up this past month, and this eye shadow is what I’ve worn all over my eyelids. It’s very close to my skin colour, and it has a nice sheen to it (which is difficult to see in the picture).

greatest_showman_cover

The Greatest Showman (film): A couple of weeks ago I went to the cinema with my sisters to watch The Greatest Showman, and I loved it. The cast is great, and the music is incredible. Watch it if you haven’t already.

First impressions: Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Lash Extension mascara

DSC_4585

My favourite mascara (Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express) has been discontinued in Denmark, so I’m on a hunt for a new great mascara. I’ve heard a couple of beauty youtubers talk about this Essence mascara and how good it is, so I decided to try it out.

First impressions

It has a bristle wand, which I prefer over a plastic one, and I do think that it makes my lashes look voluminous. However, it is very difficult to remove from the skin without ruining my eye shadow, and it transfers a lot onto both the top of my eyelids and to the skin underneath my eyes. This is a huge problem for me in general, and I’ve found very few mascara that doesn’t transfer onto my skin throughout the day. The mascara was also slightly difficult to remove with regular eye make-up remover. I had high hopes for this mascara, but overall I’m not a fan. However, that doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you.

5 favourites – December

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or whatever you celebrate and happy New Year! Another year has come to an end, and for me it’s the end of an era. I handed in my master’s thesis a few days ago which means that I’m saying goodbye to the university after 5,5 years. Even though it will be a month before I actually get my master’s degree, I have already gotten a job, and I start working in just a few days. 2018 is going to be challeging and filled with new experiences which I’m really looking forward to. Let’s say goodbye to 2017 with some December favouites.

DSC_4271

Fluffy Christmas socks: Throughout the month I have expressed my love for Christmas clothing, and I’ve loved wearing all my different jumpers and T-shirts. I’ve also loved wearing these fluffy Christmas penguin socks. They’re extremely soft and comfortable and so cute.

Røde støvler m. chunky hæl - Raid

Red boots by Raid: I’ve been obsessed with these red boots in December, and I have a feeling that the obsession will continue. They went so well with most of my christmassy outfits, and they’re a perfect pop of colour.

Maybelline Fit Me Luminous + Smooth foundation

Maybelline Fit Me Luminous + Smooth foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain): My favourite foundation for the past year or so has been the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation, but because I had a rash underneath my eyes, I’ve had to stay away from matte make-up, so I decided to try the Luminous + Smooth version of the foundation, and I’ve loved it.

DSC_4247

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Poinsettia: I’ve mainly worn red lipsticks in December, and this metallic dream has been my favourite. Even though it’s metallic, it’s very wearable, and I’ll continue to wear it all year round.

Finding Dory

Finding Dory (film): I finally got to watch Finding Dory, and I was suprised by how great it is. I think it’s even better than Finding Nemo, and I’ll definitely rewatch this film another time.
