MAC Vibe Tribe

DSC_9444DSC_9448

I finally got my hands on a couple of products from the MAC Vibe Tribe collection which is this years main summer collection. As you can see the packaging is super pretty, and so are the actual products.

DSC_9456

Of course I had to get one of the lipsticks. I chose the brightest one (no surprise there) and it’s this beautiful orange-red shade called Painted Sunset. It’s an amplified finish, so it’s really creamy and pigmented. I wore it yesterday and it’s the perfect red lip for summer.

I also couldn’t resist the Gleamtones powder which is a new type of powder from MAC. It’s called Dunes At Dusk and it’s a gorgeous highlighter. I guess you could also use the four shades individually as eye shadows, but I’ve been wearing all four colours swirled together as a highlighter and I’m so happy that it’s light enough for my pale skin. You could obviously also wear the different shades individually as highlighters or mix two or three of them together. So many options. I love it!

MAC Brooke Candy

There are so many awesome MAC collections launching this spring/summer, and here’s what I purchased from the Brooke Candy collection. I don’t really know anything about Brooke Candy, but that doesn’t matter to me as long as the products are nice. First of all the packaging is stunning. That mirrored silver with black and grey paint splatters is gorgeous. Obviously I went for lip products and as you can see I purchased two lipsticks and a lip pencil; all three in limited edition shades. Both lipsticks are matte. The Barbie pink lipstick is called Doo-Wop. I’m wearing it today, and it’s such a fun, bright pop of pink on the lips; perfect for spring and summer. The dark purple lipstick is called Witching Hour. It looked like such a cool colour, and I’m drawn to everything purple so I had to have it. I also got the dark purple lip pencil to go with it, and it’s called Night Crawler. I can’t wait to wear those two products together. They probably won’t be considered that spring/summer appropriate, but I’ll most likely wear them soon anyways.

Urban Decay Naked 2

DSC_8771DSC_8763DSC_8770

I finally purchased the Urban Decay Naked 2 eye shadow palette which I’d been craving for years. It’s my first Urban Decay palette, and I’m not disappointed. The quality is great and the colours are beautiful. If you’re not familiar with the Naked palettes the one just called Naked (the original one) has warm-toned neutrals, this one (Naked 2) has cool-toned neutrals, and Naked 3 has rosy neutrals. There is also a Naked Smoky palette which is full off darker, smoky shades. The only one of the palettes I’m not that keen on is the original Naked palette, but I would love to own the Naked 3 and Naked Smoky palettes.

Two from MAC

DSC_8990DSC_9003

On the very last day of March I purchased these two MAC products. I’d been checking the MAC webside several times that day, because I knew that the Halsey lipstick was going to be released. I also decided to buy a limited edition Mineralize Skinfinish.

DSC_9007

The Halsey lipstick is a grey lipstick with a blue undertone, and it looks a bit more blue on the lips than in the bullet. I really wanted this lipstick because it’s a very different and unique shade. It has a matte finish which is my favourite finish from MAC.

DSC_8999DSC_8997

The Mineralize Skinfinish is in the shade Warm Rose. It’s described as a pastel pink with a pink reflex which I think is a pretty good description. I would say it’s definitely more of a finishing powder than an actual highlighter, unless you like a very subtle shimmery highlighter. Either way it looks really pretty on the skin.

Crazy about NYX

DSC_8965

I’ve been going a bit NYX crazy lately (I’ve also bought a few more NYX lippies since I took these pictures), but I think NYX is such a nice affordable brand and it recently made it’s way to a couple of Danish drugstores around the country, so I had to take advantage of that. Here’s what I’ve purchased:

DSC_8929DSC_8930

First off I purchased the Hightlight & Contour Pro Palette which I had been wanting to try for a while. I think I’ve worn at least one of the shades everyday since I bought it, and I have to say that I really like this palette. My favourite of the highlight shades is Cream which is the yellow shade, and my favourite of the contour shades is Sculpt which is the one right below Cream. If you’re looking for an affordable highlight/contour palette I would definitely recommend this one.

DSC_8907

Mascara is one of the few products where I rarely ever experiment and try out new products, but I’ve always liked the idea of a coloured mascara and NYX has some really pretty colours to choose from. I picked the blue one, because it was the least out there colour, and I’m really impressed by this product. I didn’t expect for it to be as pigmented as it is, and is doesn’t flake and holds the curl all day long. I would love to try out some of the other colours as well.

DSC_8957

I purchased one of the butter glosses. I had one of these already before I purchased this one, so I knew I liked the formula. This one is in the shade Tiramisu and it’s a very nice neutral colour that works on top of a lot of different neutral lip colours.

DSC_8960

The soft matte lip cream is a product I’ve been wanting to try for a really long time as well. I purchased three shades (from the left); Antwerp, Cannes, and Transylvania. I like the mousse-like formula and the completely matte finish, and they don’t feel too drying on the lips. The two lighter shades are really opaque and even on the lips, whereas the dark shade is a bit more patchy and needed to be built up with a couple of layers. All shades are gorgeous though, and I would love to get my hands on more of these.

DSC_8951

When I saw that the Liquid Suede cream lipsticks came in some fun and different colours, I had to try out a couple of them. I chose the shades Amethyst and Stone Fox. I haven’t worn Amethyst (the purple one) yet, but I really like the Stone Fox shade which is a dark blueish grey. It’s really pigmented and such a cool colour. I would love to get some more colours from this lipstick line as well. The next two pictures shows swatches of the lip products in the order I’ve mentioned them. The first pictures is without flash; the second is with flash.

If you have any NYX recommendations, please let me know:)

5 favourites – March

It’s the last day of March, my exams are over, and now I have a week off before my new courses start. Yay! March was a very busy month all about exams, so I’m really looking forward to April. I did manage to find some enjoyable things throughout March, and here are some of my favourites.

DSC_8899

Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15): I’d been waiting and waiting for the Maybelline Fit Me line to make it’s way to Denmark, just so that I could get my hands on the concealer in the right shade, and it was definitely worth the wait. This concealer is so good, and I would recommend it to everyone.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush (10 Nude Mauve) lukket

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush (shade: 10 Nude Mauve): Another product I’d been craving for the longest time. It’s such a pretty neutral blusher that looks great with any make-up look which is also why I’ve been wearing it a lot.

DSC_8898

Essie nail polish (shade: Brides No Grooms): Back in High school I wore hot pink nail polish all the time, but the last couple of years I think I’ve only worn hot pink on my nails a few times. I think that’s all going to change now that I have this pretty pink polish. I’m wearing it on some of my nails here, and I loved it so much that I wore on all my nails last week.

kitty powers matchmaker

Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker (iPad game): I don’t play that many games on my iPad these days, but after watching people on YouTube playing this game, I decided to try it out myself. I haven’t played it much that past couple of weeks, but I played a ton in the beginning of the month, and it’s a good bit of fun.

disney_cinderella_2015-wide

Cinderella (film): I’ve mentioned before (several times I’m sure) that I love anything Disney, so obviously I’ve been wanting to watch this film ever since it came out last year. I didn’t get the chance to watch it until a week ago, and it was so good. The fairytale is great in itself, but I also loved the cast and the gorgeous costumes. If you’re a Disney fan and you haven’t watched this yet, I really think you should.

Fit me

Maybelline Fit MeDSC_8844DSC_8846DSC_8850

The Maybelline Fit Me line has finally made its way to Denmark, so I decided to try out the foundation, concealer and powder. My favourite product is definitely the concealer. It’s so good. It has great coverage and it looks beautiful on the skin. The foundation is very dewy, so if you have very oily skin, you might not like it, or at least you would have to set it with powder which I would do anyways. In the beginning I wasn’t sure I liked it, but I’ve been wearing it the past few days and I’ve liked the way my skin has looked, so I guess I have mixed feelings about this foundation. The powder feels really soft and light on the skin. It has a light coverage and it doesn’t look cakey on me, so I quite like it. The compact also has a mirror and comes with a puff that makes it easy to touch up on the go. In general I love that the Fit Me line has several shades that works on fair skin; I find that it can be extremely difficult to find good foundation and concealer shades for fair skin at the drugstore.

Nude’tude and FratBoy

DSC_8626

Last month I finally bought some products from the Balm that I’ve been wanting for quite a while. I haven’t been able to show them to you until know, because I also bought my sister’s birthday present at the same webside, and I didn’t want her to get too suspicious. Anyways, I bought the Nude’tude eye shadow palette and the FratBoy blusher.

DSC_8630DSC_8631

I’ve only worn eye shadows from this palette a few times so far, but the shadows I’ve used, I really like. I’ve swatched all the shades, and the pigmentation is great. As you can see, it’s a neutral palette, but I think it has a nice variety of colours, and I’m looking forward to create more looks with this palette. I absolutely love the packaging; the Balm’s packaging is always incredibly cute.

DSC_8636DSC_8641

I’ve also been wanting to try out the Balm’s Boy blushers, and I decided that FratBoy should be my first one. It’s a beautiful coral pink, perfect for spring and summer, and I really like it. Once again the packaging is adorable.

Make-up Christmas presents

DSC_8281

I wrote in my New Year’s Eve make-up post that I would tell you more about my make-up Christmas presents and here they are. I got three MAC products; two eye shadows and a lipstick.

DSC_8279

The eye shadows I got are Mythology (on the left) and All That Glitters (on the right). Mythology has a lustre finish and the colour is simply described as a copper and it’s a gorgeous shade. All That Glitters has a veluxe pearl finish and is described as a beige with gold pearl. It’s one of the those shades that goes with anything. So pretty.

DSC_8284

You’ve already seen the lipstick in action, but here it is before I wore it. It’s called Matte Royal and it has a matte finish (obviously). It came out with the Matte Lip Collection, and I’m actually not sure if the collection is permanent or not, but I’m so happy I got this amazing blue lipstick for Christmas.

Magic of the night

DSC_7893DSC_7896

The product I wanted the most from this years holiday collections from MAC was this lipstick. It’s from the Magic of The Night Collection, it’s called Evening Rendezvous and it’s the only limited edition lipstick shade in the collection. It got sold out so quickly online, so I purchased it in store. I’m in love with both the packaging and the lipstick shade itself. Purple is my favourite colour so it doesn’t get much better than this.
