MAC Nutcracker Sweet

I’m always excited about MAC’s Holiday collections, and this year I was not disappointed. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, and the products are beautiful, so I thought I would show you what I decided to pick up from this year’s collection.

Obviously I had to have one of the lipsticks, and I chose this beautiful deep purple shade called Leap of Delight. It has a matte finish, and I love how it matches the packaging.

I also decided to get one of the Magic Dust powders. I chose the shade Yum Yum Yum which is a pretty pink with gold shimmer. It looks beautiful on the skin, and look at the stars in the actual powder! So gorgeous.

Lastly, I had to get my hands on one of the face compacts. Even though the Copper one was the most hyped one (do to the fact that the highlighter in it is the popular Whisper of Gilt) I decided to get the Peach one because it contains the lighter shades. I wouldn’t say that there’s anything peach about it, but I love it none the less. The Extra Dimension Skinfinish (highlighter) is called Tutu and the Extra Dimension Blush is called At Dusk and both powders are stunning.

Back-up, new, sample

It’s been over year since I purchased my first MAC Pro Longwear concealer, I’ve used it almost every day since, and there’s still some product left. Not much product though, so I needed to buy a back-up, so I wouldn’t run out of it. I ordered it online, and I thought I would purchase my first MAC powder blush as well. I’ve heard so many good things about the powder blushers and I’m not disappointed in the shade I got. I decided to get Desert Rose which was on top of my MAC blusher wishlist. It’s described as soft reddish-burgundy and it has a matte finish. I thought it would be the perfect autumn/winter blusher and it really is. During the month of October you would get a free mascara sample with every online order, and it’s a sample of the Zoom Fast Black Lash. I’ve been using it quite a bit and I really like it. I’ll do a first impressions post on it within the next few weeks.

More Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks

dsc_1017

I was so impressed with the first two Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks I bought that I had to get hold of some more shades. The bright yellow is called Queen Bee and is from the limited edition summer collection, the nude is called Celebrity Skin, the deep brown red is called Unicorn Blood, the dark mauve is called Androgyny, and the dusty green is called Dirty Money. These colours are gorgeous, and you’ll definitely see me wear these in future make-up posts.

MAC Bangin’ Brilliant lipsticks

dsc_0922

Sorry about the silence on the blog this past week, but I just got home from a choir trip to the Netherlands last night. I’ve missed blogging and I have a lot of outfits, make-up looks and new products to show you. Today is going to be about lipsticks; MAC lipsticks to be exact. I’ve been waiting patiently for the new permanent lipstick range, the Bangin’ Brilliant collection, to launch in Denmark, and when it finally did I decided to purchase three lipsticks (even though I could have bought pretty much the entire collection). The collection is full of fun, different, colourful shades with different finishes though most of the lipsticks are either matte or frost. All three shades I decided to get are matte lipsticks. The shades I picked up are In The Spirit (black), 4Eva (purple), and Deep Rooted (grey brown). I’ve only worn Deep Rooted so far and I loved it. I can’t wait to wear the other shades as well.

A few bits from H&M

Here’s a few clothing items I purchased a couple of weeks ago from H&M that I thought I would show you. I’ve been obsessed with bomber jackets lately, and I’ve been trying on this pink satin one before, and I’m so glad I finally decided to buy it. The khaki green shoulderless top was on sale, and I thought it was really cute and appropriate for this season because of the colour (not so much the shoulderless part). Lastly, I bought a scarf. I only ever wear scarfs outdoors when it’s cold, and I needed a scarf that was not too thick or warm to wear now before it gets too cold outside. I found this black and white one that I thought would go with all my different jackets and coats, and I have already used it quite a bit.

First impressions: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks

dsc_0635dsc_0645

About three weeks ago I recieved my first Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks, and I thought I would share my first impressions of them with you. I’d heard/read so many amazing things about these liquid lipsticks, so I was very happy to find them on Beautybay.com (one of my favourite webshops). At the time there was a limited selection of shades (but there has recently been added more shades), so I decided to get the two colours you see in the picture. The one in the yellow packaging is from the limited edition summer collection and it’s called Watermelon Soda, and the one in the pink packaging is a permanent shade and it’s called Blow Pony. The only difference I found with these two shades (apart from the colour of course) is the fact that the limited edition shade smells like watermelon and it smells phenomenal. The formula is very thin and liquidy, but very easy to apply. The pigmentation is fantastic and the product dries completely matte and transfer proof. I don’t find the lipsticks particularly drying on the lips and they last a very long lime. Like pretty much every other lipstick they wear off a bit on the inner/soft part of the lips when you eat and drink, but compared to the LA Splash liquid lipsticks these layer well and is therefore easy to touch up. I was able to remove (almost) all product with regular make-up remover/cleasing water. To be completely honest these are the best liquid lipsticks I’ve tried so far, and I highly recommend them.

Collective drugstore haul

I’ve been purchasing a few drugstore products recently, and I thought I would do a collective haul.

My favourite purchase is the NYX Strobe Of Genius illuminating palette which I featured in my 5 favourites from August. I highly recommend this palette! The shades are so gorgeous and I love having so many highlight options in one place; it’s so travel friendly. My favourite shade so far has been the second shade in the top row which is a beautiful light pinky shade.

I purchased two more NYX products at the same time as the Strobe Of Genius palette; the HD Studio Photogenic finishing powder and the Slide On, Glide On, Stay On… (the name is so long) lip liner in Red Tape. The powder is a loose powder and has a very mattifying effect, but it doesn’t make your skin look dry. And you might know that my go-to lip colour is red, so I’m always on the hunt for red lip liners.

I had heard good things about the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin powder foundation, so when I saw it was on sale, I had to try it out. I’ve only used it a couple of times, but so far I like it. I got mine in the shade 005 Light Beige.

Lastly, I did some repurchases as well. The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR foundations (both the full coverage one with the red lid and this medium coverage one with the white lid) are some of my favourite foundations and I always have at least one in my collection. I also repurchased the e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator which is a much needed product when you are a matte lipstick lover.

MAC 15 eye shadow palette

DSC_0098DSC_0107DSC_0092

For my birthday earlier this month I got my fifth MAC eye shadow, so I went out and bought an empty 15 pan MAC eye shadow palette, and I’m excited to add more eye shadows to this palette over time. The eye shadow I got for my birthday was Nylon which is described as a pale gold with icy shimmer and it has a frost finish. It’s the perfect inner corner and browbone highlight and I’m sure I’m going to use it a lot.
