Chinese New Year was just over a month ago, and MAC has created another beautiful limited edition collection in celebration of the holiday. This year’s collection is called Moon Masterpiece, and I purchased three products from the collection.
I don’t think MAC releases enough blushes in their limited edition collections, but when they do, they’re usually super pretty. This is the powder blush duo in Good Health, Great Wealth which consists of two permanent shades; Melba (top shade) and Modern Mandarin (bottom shade). I didn’t have either of those shades in my collection already, so I think it’s nice to have them in this limited edition packaging.
Last year’s Lunar New Year collection from MAC contained the most stunning Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Double Gleam with a dragon design that quickly became one of my favourite highlighters (Double Gleam is a permanent shade btw). This year they did an equally stunning Extra Dimension Skinfinish with a fish design. It’s also the Double Gleam shade, so I’m going to keep this one untouched. I usually buy make-up to use it, but this was just too beautiful to pass on even though I already have the shade in my collection!
The last product I bought was of course a lipstick, and the lipsticks in this collection are the Powder Kiss lipstick formula that I’ve been loving lately. I picked up the shade Turn Up Your Luck which is a beautiful bright red, which is right up my alley.
After several sale hauls, I have a non-sale collective haul to share with you. This haul is a mix of clothes, shoes, and accessories.
I’ve been wanting a long, red coat for a while, and I’ve finally purchased one from H&M. I didn’t wear it out until last Saturday (because I’ve been going nowhere), but it looked great.
Yes, I’ve purchased another matching sweatsuit from H&M, and it’s so comfy, and I’ve already worn it a ton.
And sticking with matching sets, how cute is this lilac, yellow, brown, and white checked suit set? It’s from Monki, and I’ve also already worn this several times, and I’ve loved the looks I’ve created with it.
I don’t feel like I buy new jeans very often, but I love a good flare, and this dark blue wash is so nice. These are also from H&M.
When I saw these two indigo pieces on Monki website, I just couldn’t resist buying them. I definitely want to wear them together and do an all indigo look.
And I have more vests to share with you. This is another Monki vest, however not a sweater vest. I obviously love the colour, and I also really like the rhinestone buttons.
The next two vests are sweater vests, and they’re both from Zara and both are so cute. I wore the cream coloured one with pearls yesterday, and I think I’ll wear the blue one with the clouds tomorrow.
I have one more Zara piece to show you. There was just something about this idyllic nature print and the pastel colours that drew me to this jumper, and so far I’ve had a lot of fun styling it.
I have two pairs of boots to share with you. I’ve been wanting a pair of grey boots for a while, and these calf lengh kitten heel boots from H&M were just it. And look at those lilac knee high croc boots! They’re from Asos, and they are beautiful.
And last, but most certainly not least, I’ve purchased some jewellery. And not any jewellery. Mickey Mouse jewellery. When I saw all of these Mickey Mouse jewellery at H&M website a little while back, my heart skipped a beat. They are all so cute, and I’ve loved wearing them.
This is the third post Christmas/January sale haul in line, and this one is a collective make-up haul. I still have a couple more clothing sale hauls to share with you, so stay tuned for those. But for now, let’s talk make-up.
The item I was most excited to find on sale in late December (and to find at all to be honest) was this Clinique Jet Set Travel Ready Eyes and Cheeks set. I’ve been wanting to try the Clinique Cheek Pop blush pops for years, but they pretty much disappeared from the Danish market, but then I came across this set containing two blushers and a mascara, and I was a happy girl. I would have paid the full prize for this set, but it was 50% off I think, so it was super affordable, which made things even better. The two blush shades are 08 Melon Pop and 15 Pansy Pop, and they’re super pretty. The mascara is the Lash Power mascara in a travel size.
And my luck didn’t stop there. I also found the Clinique Cheek Pop palette in Warm Up on sale on Asos’ website. This palette contains the shades Nude Pop, Ginger Pop, and Cola Pop. Super pretty shades as well.
Another product I’ve been wanting to try for a while is the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette in 001 Universal, so I was really happy when I found it on sale in a set that also contained the Dior Addict Lip Glow in 001 Pink. The set also came in a Dior make-up bag. I’ve used all the shades in the palette apart from the pink one, and they’re stunning. The lip glow is lovely too.
I usually don’t really buy from luxury make-up brands, but when they’re on sale, it’s a different story. I mean, how beautiful is this Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Ready to Care & Shine lip colour! It’s in the shade 12 Corail Dolman, and it’s a collector 2020 lipstick. I don’t care much about that fact; I just loved the shade and the packaging.
Let’s move on to a couple of limited edition MAC lippies. First off, I purchased two more lip products from the Teyana Taylor collection; the lip pencil in Chestnut (dark brown) and the lipglass in 10’s Across the Board (dark red). I also found a lipstick and a lipglass from the Aaliyah collection. The lipstick is called Street Thing and the lipglass is called 1 In A Million. These are colours that I probably won’t wear often, but I didn’t have any products from the Aaliyah collection and I loved the dark red packaging.
Fenty Beauty killed it with the 2020 holiday sets (see which other sets I bought earlier on here). This is the Two Lil Stunnas – Gift Duo which comes with two mini Stunna Lip Paints in limited edition shades; Underrated and Unmatched. Both shades are beautiful.
This is another little lip set that I found interesting. It’s the Huda Beauty Kiss – Gift Set that consists of two mini Silk Balms in the shades Sugar and Spice (both shades are limited edition). They’re super shimmery, which is different for a lip balm, I guess, but I have to say that I really enjoy these. You could probably use them as gloss on top of a lipstick or lip liner, but I just wear them as lip balm on days where I don’t wear make-up.
Okay, we’re almost done. I found these KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting lip liners on sale (of course), and I liked the unusual colours, so I thought I would give them a try. I puchased the shades (from top to bottom) Lemmy, Coven, and Skully. I’m excited to see if they’re any good.
And last but not least, I purchased this 3 eye brush set from Sephora Collection. The brushes came with a little make-up bag, and they have a very cute print on them, and they’re actually quite nice.
It’s time for the second post Christmas/January sale haul, and these are the items I got from Asos.
Let’s get the Christmas items out of the way. I always like to purchase Christmas clothing on sale, and I bought the following three items from Asos: gingerbread men leggings from Monki (I have the matching T-shirt), blue cropped jumper with Christmas tree print from Asos’ own brand, and a Friends Christmas themed T-shirt also from Asos’ own brand.
I only purchased one more piece of clothing, and it’s this Elton John T-shirt from the brand Vintage Supply. I love Elton John’s music and his style!
And now on to shoes. As you will see, I’ve purchased many pairs of shoes, but this first pair might be my favourite. These shoes are the kind of shoes that you either love or hate, and I love them! They’re from Asos’ own brand (and so are the rest of the items in this haul apart from one pair of shoes), and I love the zipper detail and the chunky soles.
I’ve been seeing different two-toned boots around lately, and I just loved the burgundy and creamy white colour combo on this pair.
I thought these mules were so cute that I had to get them in two versions: satin pink with multicoloured rhinestones, and dark green croc with white rhinestones. When we’ll be able to go to parties again, I want to wear both of these pairs.
And speaking of mules, here are two more summery versions. I love the disco vibes of the silver pair, and I already own and love the turquoise version and the purple version of the Public Desire square sole mules, so I had to get the chocolate brown version as well.
And last, but not least, I’ve purchased two head accessories. You are probably tired of hearing about my obsession with the colour purple, but I mean, just look at that fluffy purple bucket hat. It’s so fun and goes perfectly with all my purple outfits. I also love zebra print and big hair clips, so my last purchase is just that; a big zebra print hair clip.
I have a collective beauty haul to share with you. It’s mainly drugstore products, but with a few high end products mixed in.
Let’s start with Essence. Essence is such an affordable brand, and the quality of their products is fantastic in most cases. Like every other beauty brand there are some dud products here and there, but overall their products are great, and I’m on an Essence kick right now where I just want to try everything from the brand. Anyways, Essence often makes cute limited edition collections as well, and when I saw this Disney princess collection, I had to pick up a palette and a mascara. The only palette left at my supermarket was the Snow White palette (02 My Prince Will Come), which is a neutral palette with a few pops of colour, and even though I don’t often go for neutral palettes, I have to say that so far I’m quite impressed with this palette. Some of the shimmers in this palette are stunning! I picked up the Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara (Snow White edition) as well, and ever since I picked it up, I’ve been seeing that mascara everywhere on Youtube, so I’m excited to try it out.
I have two more Essence products to show you before we move on to another great affordable brand. I also purchased the Prime+ Studio Hydrating + Skin Refreshing primer, and shorty after I purchased this I saw it mentioned in a Youtube video as well, which makes me even more excited to try it. I’ve not heard anything about the Brow Pomade + Brush brow product, but I thought it looked interesting.
And now on to e.l.f. The Bite-Size eyeshadow palette is another product I’ve seen and heard a lot about on Youtube, and I wanted to know what all the fuzz was about. First I purchased two (Acai You and Rose Water), and then later on I purchased one more (Truffles). I have tried the first two, and I do like them. Especially the blue one (Acai You) performed very well (I’m actually wearing it one my eyes here).
Here’s the last handful of products I’ve purchased from e.l.f. I purchased another 16hr Camo concealer. I’ve tried it before, but the shade was not right for me (Fair Rose), so this time I picked up a different shade (Fair Warm), and I’m not sure about this shade either. It only looks a tiny bit different to the other shade I have, and they’re both very light, but I’ll give it a try, and we’ll see if it works better, or if fair simply is to fair for me (I didn’t think that would ever happen). I also picked up the Matte Putty primer. The Poreless Putty primer is one of my absolute favourite primers, so I was excited to try the matte version. I’ve only used it once so far, but my skin sure looked matte and stayed matte for the entire time I wore my make-up, so it definitely is what it claims to be, which is great. And lastly, I picked up two more brushes from e.l.f.; a blending brush and a eyebrow duo brush. e.l.f. brushes are really good considered the affordable price.
I’m not done with the drugstore products yet. The only eyeshadow primer/base I’ve used the last couple of years is the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, but I thought it was time to try out another eyeshadow primer, so I picked up the Milani one (shade: Nude).
I’m very much attracted to anything sparkly, so I picked up the NYX Love Lust Disco lipstick/liptopper in 02 Gold Dipper. I’m not quite sure what kind of look I would use this with, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
Okay, time for some back-ups. I don’t always feature back-up/repurchases in my hauls, but I thought I would this time. I don’t try out new foundations very often because I have two favourites that I love so much. It’s the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation in 110 Porcelain and the Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation in 100 Warm Ivory. My favourite concealer is the L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer in 322 Ivory, so I repurchase that a lot as well, and the best and most affordable clear brow gel in my opinion is the e.l.f Clear Brow & Lash Mascara, so I’ve gone through countless of those.
Another product that I keep repurchasing is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting spray. It’s not a cheap product, but it’s the best setting spray I’ve tried, so I’m willing to pay the price of it.
Fenty Beauty is a brand that I’m really enjoying. They’re doing something right. I’d only heard great things about the cream blushes and bronzers (I really want one of the cream bronzers as well!), so I decided to give the blushes a go (for now). They’re called the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blushes and I got the shades Petal Poppin (02) and Fuego Flush (01). So far I’ve only worn Fuego Flush, but it was really pretty. I can’t wait to play with these some more.
Lastly, I have a skin care item and a hair care item. In my 5 favourites from November, I featured the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash from The Body Shop. I’m still using and enjoying that. And in my Black Friday collective beauty haul I mentioned the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash, which I still need to be using more often. However, I’ve now added the classic Tea Tree Oil to my Tea Tree collection, so my skin should look really good soon:) And the last thing in this haul is also a repurchase. I got really nostalgic when I found the Batiste dry shampoo in the scent Fresh. I purchased this for the first time, when I lived in England in the first half of 2014, and the Fresh scent was my favourite. I rarely use dry shampoo, but it’s nice to have in a case of emergency:)
December is (sadly) long over, so it’s about time that I get around to showing you some of my advent calendar presents from my mum and some jewellery Christmas presents.
Let’s start with the few christmassy things. On December 1 actually, I got the cute reindeer/christmas tree jumper from Julesweaters that you’ve already seen me wear. And another day I got some cute and fuzzy christmas socks from H&M.
And now on to some beauty bits. I got two Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection brushes. The top one is the 200 Oval Shadow brush, and the bottom one is the 300 Tapered brush.
I also got these two lipsticks on my advent calendar. The MAC lipstick is the Pretty Punk lipstick in the shade Glamour Of Punk. It’s not a shade I would typically wear, but I’ll give it a try. The other lipstick is the Urban Decay Vice lipstick in the shade Cherry. It was released along side the Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette. I wore this lipstick the other day, and I really liked it.
And now; jewellery. I got this Turquoise Stripe Trollbeads glass bead as my last advent calendar present on Christmas Eve. The rest of the jewellery were Christmas presents.
I got two more Trollbeads for Christmas. I got the Pink Diamond bead from my grandfather, and the Holly Bushes bead from my parents.
I also got this beautiful gold ring with multicoloured zircons by Sif Jacobs from my parents. The picture doesn’t do it justice.
This might be my favourite Christmas present. I’d been talking about putting a Pandora x Disney charm bracelet on my wishlist several times, but I ended up not doing it and I regretted it. However, my sweet boyfriend bought one for me anyways and chose the snake chain bracelet with the sparkling Mickey Mouse lock, which was my favourite! He also got me the Minnie Mouse & Mickey Mouse Kiss charm, which couldn’t be more perfect.
This is going to be my last Black Friday haul, and it’s a small collective beauty haul.
I’ve been wanting to try out the Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil highlighter for so long, and I thought getting the Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb Baby – Travel Set would be a great way to do so. It comes with a mini version of the Diamond Bomb highlighter in the shade How Many Carats?! and a mini Gloss Bomb in the shade Fu$$y, which is a shade I didn’t already own. I wore the highlighter for the first time yesterday, and it sure is blinding and also quite glittery. I might have applied a little too much, but I did like the glass like finish of it, and it didn’t ruin the make-up underneath, eventhough it has a jelly-like texture.
I had seen ads about the L’Oréal Air Volume Mega Mascara and was intrigued. I won’t say anymore about it now, because a first impressions post on it will be coming up.
You have probably noticed how much I love coloured eyeliner pencils for my waterline, and NYX usually doesn’t disappoint when it comes to this category of make-up. These are the Epic Wear Liner Sticks, and I picked up the shades (from top to bottom) Emerald Cut, Cosmic Yellow, Pink Spirit, Frosted Lilac, and Periwinkle Pop.
The last product in the haul is not make-up, but a skincare product. I’ve been using the The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash for several months now, and I really like it, so I thought I would give Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask a go. It’s a gel type formula that you apply to your face before you go to bed, leave it on overnight, and wash it off the next morning. I’ve only used it a few times so far, but I really should use it more often to give it a fair shot.
It’s time for another Black Friday haul. These are the clothes, shoes, and accessories I puchased from various places on Black Friday.
The only clothes I bought was this Coca Cola sweatsuit from H&M, and I’m obsessed! I was never into wearing joggers, not even at home on the weekends, but that changed towards the end of 2020.
I only purchased one pair of shoes around Black Friday as well, and it was these purple boots from Asos that I’d had in my saved items for such a long time. You know how obsessed I am with everything purple, so I thought it was the time to get these.
And now on the accessories. I bought these sunglasses from Asos too, and I just loved the shape and the brown and beige colours. I can’t wait to wear these in a few months.
I also bought another big hair clip (in purple of course) to add to my rather extensive hair accessories collection. This one is from Asos as well.
How adorable is the Mickey Mouse watch! It’s from H&M, and I obviously had to have it.
A little while back I puchased a pair of golden T-Rex earrings from Topshop, and when I found the matching bracelet on Asos’ website, I added it to my cart immediately. I’m really into charm bracelets at the moment.
And speaking of charm bracelets, Trollbeads had such a great Black Friday sale, so I decided to buy the My Sweet Stories bracelet that came with the My Sweet Stories lock, the My Sweet Stories heart (a silver bead), and the My Sweet Stories glass bead (the two on the far right). I also puchased two more glass beads (Zebra and Red/Purple Armadillo) and two more silver beads (Crystal Heart and Singing in the Snow). I know that I’ll get so much wear out of this bracelet.
It’s finally time to share my first Black Friday haul with you; I’m a little behind, I know:) Let’s start off with MAC.
I’ve never tried the Powder Kiss lipsticks before, so I decided to purchase the Showstopper Powder Kiss lipstick x 5 kit from the 2020 holiday collection. I still haven’t tried them out, but I like the look of them.
I got two lipglasses; one from the 2020 holiday collection called Break The Ice, and one from the 2019 holiday collection called Star Memoir. I’m wearing lipgloss more and more often these days, and these two are just so pretty.
I use Fix+ everything single time I wear make-up, and I love trying new versions and scents of the finishing spray. The Magic Radiance one is a back-up, because I already use and love that one. I haven’t tried the matte version before, so I’m really excited to do so. And I also added two more Fix+ from the Vibes collection (Calm and Play) to my Fix+ collection.
Now on to a little mix of different items, I also picked up in the Black Friday sale. I love the Glow Play blushes. They’re some of my favourites, so I picked up another shade called Totally Synced. Then I also picked up the Nylon eyeshadow (my favourite inner corner and brow bone highlight shade) in pot form, so it’s easy for me to take it with my when travelling. The lip pencil is in the shade Nightingale which is a beautiful berry shade, and the brush is the 221S Mini Tapered Blending brush.
Lastly, I wanted to show you the free gifts I received with my orders. First off, I got the Mischief Minx eye palette. As you can see it’s a bronzy, neutral palette, which is not the kind of palette I often go for, but I’m excited to compare the formula of the eyeshadows to MAC’s single eyeshadows.
I really can’t believe that I got three Extra Dimension Foil eyeshadows from the 2020 holiday collection for free! I thought about purchasing the middle shade when the collection launched, and now I’m glad I didn’t. The shades I picked are (from left to right) Firewerk The Room, Cooler Than Being Cool, and Explosive Chemistry. I’ve already worn Cooler Than Being Cool and Explosive Chemistry (see here), and they’re super pretty.
I know I recently posted another Jeffree Star haul, but I have one more to share with you, and as you might have seen in some of my recent make-up posts, I’ve already worn most of these products. So here’s what I got from the Blood Money collection.
Of course I had to get the Blood Money palette; I love the Jeffree Star eyeshadow formulas, and I love green eyeshadows. This palette is really pretty, and I’ve already done several looks using this palette (see here and here).
I also purchased three of the new Automatic eyeliners. I decided to get the shades (from top to bottom) A$$ets, Resting Rich Face, and Armored Truck. I’ve tried the two green shades, and I really like them. I’m also really excited to try the blue-brown duochrome one.
