A pop of red

dsc_0584redidsc_0582redidsc_0581redi

Here’s what I wore Thursday September 8. I love how this outfit turned out; the blazer and trousers paired with the graphic top and sneakers is the perfect mix of casual and dressy. And a pop of red always looks great with black and white.

First impressions: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks

dsc_0635dsc_0645

About three weeks ago I recieved my first Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks, and I thought I would share my first impressions of them with you. I’d heard/read so many amazing things about these liquid lipsticks, so I was very happy to find them on Beautybay.com (one of my favourite webshops). At the time there was a limited selection of shades (but there has recently been added more shades), so I decided to get the two colours you see in the picture. The one in the yellow packaging is from the limited edition summer collection and it’s called Watermelon Soda, and the one in the pink packaging is a permanent shade and it’s called Blow Pony. The only difference I found with these two shades (apart from the colour of course) is the fact that the limited edition shade smells like watermelon and it smells phenomenal. The formula is very thin and liquidy, but very easy to apply. The pigmentation is fantastic and the product dries completely matte and transfer proof. I don’t find the lipsticks particularly drying on the lips and they last a very long lime. Like pretty much every other lipstick they wear off a bit on the inner/soft part of the lips when you eat and drink, but compared to the LA Splash liquid lipsticks these layer well and is therefore easy to touch up. I was able to remove (almost) all product with regular make-up remover/cleasing water. To be completely honest these are the best liquid lipsticks I’ve tried so far, and I highly recommend them.

Cool-toned

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wanted to keep the whole look very cool-toned, and I love the grey lip with the pop of blue on the eyes.

Versatile pieces

Here’s what I wore Monday September 5. I told you that you would be seeing a lot of this blue bomber. And the sandals too, but I just love both pieces. They’re so versatile in my opinion.

5 favourites – September

Another month has passed, and I really can’t believe how fast time flies. September was all about Uni, and it won’t be long before my next exam. Weatherwise it has actually started to feel like autumn (we were blessed with a very warm first half of September), and even though I don’t enjoy the cold weather, I’m looking forward to be putting together autumn outfits. But before we jump further into the autumn season, here are some of my favourite things from the past month.

hvide-sandaler-vrs

White sandals by VRS: Because the weather was so lovely in the first half of September, I got to wear sandals a lot. I’m so happy I bought these white ones in the end of August, because I’ve worn them a ton.

MAC eye shadow in Nylon: This has quickly become my new favourite eye shadow from MAC. It’s the perfect inner corner and browbone highlight, and I’ve worn it almost every day the past weeks.

Milani powder blush in 01 Romantic Rose: This is pretty much the perfect blusher for any make-up look. It’s matte, it delivers the perfect amount of pigment and it just looks beautiful on the cheeks.

MAC Trip the Light Fantastic powder in Luna Luster: Initially I didn’t think I would purchase anything from the Star Trek collection, but I’m so happy that I decided to get this highlighter. Even though I’m a bit dissappointed the the cheap-feeling packaging the product itself is just gorgeous, and it has been one of my most worn highlighters this past month.

Bridget Jones’s Baby (film): I’m a huge Bridget Jones fan, so I was really looking forward to watch the newest addition to the Bridget Jones franchise. This film is just as good as the former two (which I’ve watched a million times); it’s so funny and sweet and I just loved it.

Star Trek in action

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I had such a hard time doing my eyeliner (which is why I rarely do winged liner), so it’s far from perfect. I really like how my skin looks though; the MAC Trip the Light Fantastic powder in Luna Luster gives the skin a beautiful glow. The lipstick is awesome too.

New fave

dsc_0490dsc_0487dsc_0488

Here’s what I wore Thursday September 1. It was the first time I wore my new black bomber, and I’ve worn it quite a bit since then. It has definitely become one of my favourite pieces of clothing.

Dark metallic

dsc_0725dsc_0728

As I’ve mentioned I’ve been really into the metallic lip trend lately, but I’ve always been loving metallic nails. This dark blue purple is a gorgeous colour, and I hadn’t worn a dark nail colour in a really long time, so I loved wearing this.

Pretty, but sticky

dsc_0448dsc_0452

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I think this bright red lip is super pretty, but because of the creamy/glossy formula my hair kept sticking to it. I guess I just have to wear my hair up the next time I wear this lipstick.

(Base: primer – Max Factor Facefinity All Day primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me foundation (shade: 105 Natural Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15), powders – NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (shades: Soft Light + Cream) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush palette (shade: Light 373), blusher – the Balm FratBoy blusher, highlighter – NYX Strobe Of Genius illuminating palette (shade: 7). No black whatsoever

dsc_0443redidsc_0442redi

Here’s what I wore Wednesday August 31. A lot of people tend to wear a lot of black, me included, but I also love an outfit that has no black items whatsoever.
