First impressions: Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation

DSC_6865

It’s time for another first impressions post. I’ve tried out the Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation, and here are my initial thoughts.

Lige efter applikation kl. 7.30

This first picture was taking right after I’d applied the foundation. I applied my go-to primer (Wet n Wild Coverall primer) to my skin first, because I wouldn’t wear foundation without priming my skin first. I’m wearing the shade Soft Ivory, which is a good shade match for me. The applicator of the foundation is a bit strange; it’s a flat plastic wand, but it works. I blended the foundation out with a make-up sponge as I always do, and the foundation has good coverage, but it wasn’t as full coverage as I thought it would be. I still liked the overall look and finish (matte) of the foundation. The product seemed to oxidised a tiny bit, but nothing too bad.

Efter 11 timer

I wore the foundation for 11 hours, and the picture above was taking right before I removed my make-up. Even after 11 hours the foundation still looked really good. I hadn’t powdered my face, and pretty much only my nose area had gotten a bit shiny. Apart from the fact that the applicator is a bit strange, the only thing about this product I really dislike is its very strong paint like scent, but luckily is goes away quite quickly. I removed the foundation with micellar cleasing water, and it came off very easily. I’m not sure if this Wet n Wild foundation will beat my favourite foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless, but I’ll definitely wear it again.

Green and brown

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m obsessed with this make-up look. How incredible is that green eyeshadow! And the brown lipstick with a green shift – love it!

Complementary colours

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This make-up look was (obviously) inspired by all the beautiful bright colours on my sweatshirt. I’ve never worn yellow and purple eyeshadow together before, but they’re complementary colours which is probably why they look really good together.

Mixed Zalando haul

A little while ago I purchased a mix of things from Zalando, and I’m finally getting around to share them with you.

Gul og blå ternet slip kjole m. sorte blonder og slids - Even&Odd

I bought this slip dress in a Clueless-ish print from Even&Odd. I don’t usually go for this type of dress, but I thought it would be fun to style.

Brun og cremefarvet argyle cropped sweater - PULL&BEARHvid T-shirt m. Fantasia Mickey Mouse - PULL&BEAR

I purchased to pieces from PULL&BEAR, which is a brand I haven’t tried before. When you live in a country that has cold weather most of the year, you can never have to many jumpers, and I really liked this argyle one. And you might have noticed that I have a serious weakness for everything Disney, which explains why I got the Mickey Mouse T-shirt.

Hvid Jaws T-shirt - New Look

I’ve been wanting a Jaws T-shirt for so long, and when I saw this one from New Look, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I love Jaws if you haven’t guessed.

Sort fake læder baker boy hat - TopshopSort faux fur taske med tortoise shell hank - TopshopHvide 'flettede' pumps - Topshop

Lastly, I bought a hat, a bag, and a pair of shoes from Topshop, which are some of the things Topshop does best in my opinion. These are all items I’d had in my saved items for quite a while, and when I saw that they were all on sale, I finally purchased them. I’m so excited to style these items.

More pink and blue

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I decided to stick with blue and pink for my make-up as well and went with a pale shimmery blue for the eyes and a hot pink lip.

Pinks and blues

Here’s what I wore Wednesday February 27. This outfit was inspired by the colours of the stripy T-shirt. Pink and blue is a colour combo I haven’t play around with much, but maybe I should, because I really like this outfit.

Comparison: Pore minimising face primers

I sort of recently bought the Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer in order to compare it to the Benefit Porefessional primer, and here are my thoughts.

Maybelline Face Studio Primer

The two products have a very similar texture and feel to them and a similar nude colour too, which turns sheer when you apply the products to your skin. The Benefit primer sinks into the skin a bit faster than the Maybelline primer, but they look very similar on the skin. The day I compared the two primers I wore each primer on one half of my face. I wore my make-up for about 9 hours, and I didn’t see any noticable differences between the left and right side of my face. My make-up looked equally good on both sides of my face, and in conclusion I would say that the Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer is a great affordable alternative to Benefit Porefessional.
