Affordable make-up haul

I have a collective affordable make-up haul to share with you today. It contains a bit of everything.

Let’s start with base products. Well, the L’Oréal Shake & Glow luminous setting spray might not be a base product per se, but you apply it all over your face, so I guess it kind of falls under this category. I’ve used it a few times, and it has the finest mist. For concealers I bought a back up of my favourite concealer, the L’Oréal Infaillable More Then Concealer, and the L’Oréal True Match Eye-Cream In A Concealer (shade: 1-2D Ivory Beige). I’ll be posting a first impressions on this concealer at some point, so stay tuned for that. I also purchased the L’Oréal True Match Perfecting Powder in 2.N Vanilla, and the e.l.f. High Definition powder in Sheer, which I didn’t know that I already owned. Whoops.

Then I purchased a bunch of mascaras. I bought two back ups of the L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara and one back up of the L’Oréal Air Volume Mega mascara; two of my favourite mascaras. Then I bought the very popular Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, which I’ll also do a first impressions post on, and lastly I purchased the L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara primer.

Now, let’s move on to some Essence stuff. I’ve bought three lip liners; two of the Stay 8h lipliners (shades: 04 Naïve + 08 Passionate) and one of the Soft & Precise lip pencils in the shade Late Night. I also bought the eyeshadow in 14 Flirting, which is a great transition shade and the The Highlighter in the shade 01 Mesmerizing. I liked the Fire lipstick from the My Power Is collection so much that I decided to get the water and air lipsticks as well. They’re called 04 Dance With The Waves! and 01 Up In The Clouds!.

In my last make-up haul, I mentioned the Essence Shine, Shine, Shine lipglosses, and I really like them, so I purchased another shade. It’s a pretty, sparkly, purple shade called 15 Watch Me Do.

And now on to the last three products from Essence. I found this new limited edition collection at my local supermarket last week. It consists of two eyeshadow palettes and two highlighter palettes, but I only got one of the highlighter palettes, because the other one (called My Little Gold highlighter palette) was too dark for me. The highlighter palette I got is called My Little Platinum highlighter palette, and it contains three shades. The two eyeshadow palettes are called My Little Copper eyeshadow palette and My Little Coral eyeshadow palette, and they swatch so nicely. The packaging is really cute too, and I really like the crown designs in the pans.

And last, but not least, I purchased two products from The Balm. I know that The Balm isn’t a super affordable brand, but I got these for a good price, and I didn’t know which haul to put them in otherwise. The products that I got are the Balm Beach blush and the Balm Desert bronzer/blush, and I’m excited to try these.

H&M haul: Lee collab and more

It’s time for a collective H&M haul. It consists of a bit of everything.

Let’s start with the pieces I purchased from the Lee collaboration. I puchased the ’90s wide ultra high waist jeans, the lilac T-shirt, the white T-shirt, and the denim bucket hat. These items are my kind of basics.

I’ve also purchased another pair of jeans. These are a pair of mom jeans with the cutest Mickey Mouse print on them.

I’m really longing for spring and summer, but I’ve only purchased a few spring/summer pieces so far. One of the more summery pieces that I’ve bought is this brown tank top. I puchased a dark yellow tank top and a lilac tank top from H&M last year, and I loved wearing those throughout spring and summer, so I wanted to add this brown one to my spring/summer wardrobe this year.

I’ve purchased two pairs of shoes. I’ve been wanting a pair of white heeled sandals since last summer, and I love this pair from H&M. I found the beige boots in the sale, and even though they’re very simple, they’re very flattering.

Besides the Lee denim bucket hat, I’ve also bought these three hats. I love the black pork pie hat; it’s just such a fun style. The beige wide brim hat is fun too, and the white bucket hat is super cute and summery.

Last, but not least, I got some more pastel coloured socks, because you can never have too many of those:)

Humongous Lyko haul

One of my new go-to places for buying make-up online is Lyko. It’s a scandinavian website which carries a lot of different beauty brands, but I definitely go to this website for primarily Essence, Catrice, and e.l.f. which are brands that are difficult to get elsewhere. This is a collective haul, and it’s a huge one, maybe my biggest collective haul so far. The majority of the products are from Essence so let’s start there.

These first three items are from the limited edition MY POWER IS collection. I wanted to try one of the four eyeshadow palettes (there’s one for each element), and I picked the Fire one called 03 I’m On Fire!, because I liked the orangey colour scheme. I also picked up the Fire lipstick, which is also called 03 I’m On Fire!, because it was a red lipstick. It wasn’t until I received those two items that I discovered that I had coincidentally picked my own element, since I’m a leo. Then I had to pick up the Hydrate & Prime Mist in 03 I’m On Fire! to complete the Fire trio. The product I’m most impressed by so far is the lipstick. It’s super pigmented, and it’s matte, but not at all drying.

Next up we have a little random mix of things. I tried the Camouflage+ matte concealer a few years ago, and I wasn’t a fan of that one, but I thought I would give the Camouflage+ Healthy Glow concealer (shade: 10 Light Ivory) a go, and a first impressions post on it will be up soon. Another limited edition product I’ve purchased is the Good Luck Charm face & body highlighter in 01 Glitter Shower For Superpower. It has a very unique texture; it’s somewhere between a cream and a balm I would say. It barely has any colour to it; it’s mainly pink glitter, so keep that in mind if you’re not a fan of glittery highlighters. The bronzer and the 3in1 Face Mist is from the Hello, Good Stuff! line. The bronzer is called the Hello, Good Stuff! matte & glow bronzer, and I got the shade 10 Cocoa-Cool. It also comes in a darker shade. I’ve really been enjoying this bronzer; I really like the split pan design with a matte shade on one side and a glowy shade on the other side. The Hello, Good Stuff! 3in1 Face Mist claims to hydrate, fix, and refresh the skin and it contains watermelon extract. It smells like (artificial) watermelon, and it smells really good. One of my most used products from this haul, and also one of my favourites, is the Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana. I love this powder so much that I featured it in my March 5 favourites.

Some of my other favourites from this haul are these The Blush blushers. I was only able to get two shades at my local supermarket, but I was so happy to find four more shades on Lyko.com. These are the shades (from left to right) 30 Breathtaking, 40 Beloved, 60 Beaming, and 70 Believing. These blushers are some of the most affordable on the market, but the quality match many high end blushers.

I’d heard many good things about the Essence Shine, Shine, Shine lipglosses, so I purchased two shades: 01 Behind The Scenes and 25 Volume, Please!. I’ve only worn each shade once so far, but I really like how they look on the lips. The nude gloss has a plumbing effect, but it’s not too intense.

Here’s another small collection of different Essence products. I purchased another one of the eye blender brushes, because you can never have too many eyeshadow brushes. I featured the Essence Volume Booster lash primer in my February 5 favourites, so you know that I’ve been enjoying that product. And then I picked up two of the Sprinkled Chrome eyeshadows in the shades 02 Mercury and 03 Mars. I have worn 03 Mars the pink/red shade, and it was really pretty.

I also purchased the Glow Like A Pro face perfectionist set in 04 Purple Scandal, which contains the Glow Like A Pro mattifying bamboo primer, the Glow Like A Pro luminizing fixing spray, and the Glow Like A Pro loose highlighter. So far I really like these products. Especially the loose highlighter, which looks very purple in the container, but it has a more subtle hint of purple on the skin, and it’s so pretty.

These are the last items from Essence in this haul. I love the Essence Shine Last & Go! gel nail polishes, and I’ve added six new shades to my collection: 53 Honey Honey (orange peach), 60 Crazy In Love (purple), 62 Walking On Sunshine (yellow), 63 Genie In A Bottle (denim blue), 69 Never Say Never (teal), and 72 Into The Unknown (dark navy). I also purchased the Express Nail Dry Spray, but I haven’t tried it yet.

These are the few products I purchased from e.l.f. I really enjoy the e.l.f. Bite Size eyeshadows, so I got the Hot Jalapeño palette, and this is the best of the Bite Size eyeshadows I’ve tried to far. All shades are super pigmented, and I love the colour scheme too. I’ve also picked up two of the Glitter Melt liquid eyeshadows, because I’ve heard really good things about them. I picked up the shades Disco Queen and 24K Gold. I have yet to try these.

We have finally come to the end of this huge Lyko haul. I only purchased one product from Catrice this time around, and it’s the More Than Glow highlighter in 010 Ultimate Platinum Glaze. It’s a pale champagne gold shade, and it’s really pretty. I like the packaging as well. And the very last product I bought is the Maybelline Volum Express Colossal mascara in limited edition Marvel packaging, and I bought this mascara because of the packaging, but I’m excited to try the actual mascara as well, because I haven’t tried it before.

5 favourites – March

Another month in lock down has gone by. However, the country has started to slowly open up again, and I went physically to work twice last week, which was great. Working from home isn’t all that fun, but right now I’m in the middle of my easter holiday which I’ve been looking forward to the whole month. Anyways, I had many favourites in March, and it was difficult to narrow them down to five, but here are my picks.

Black chunky boots: The only times I’ve been leaving my apartment these past four months have been to go for a walk, to pick up a parcel, or to go grocery shopping, and for all those occasions my shoes of choice has been these black chunky boots from PULL&BEAR. I really miss wearing all of my shoes, but I have enjoyed wearing these boots a lot.

Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana: I haven’t gotten around to hauling this product yet, but I wanted to feature it anyways, because I’ve been loving this powder to set my under eyes. My favourite undereye setting powder from e.l.f. has been discontinued I think (at least I can’t find it anywhere), so I’ve been on the hunt for alternatives, and this is a great alternative + it’s super affordable too.

BH Cosmetics Blueberry Muffin eyeshadow palette: I know, another product I haven’t hauled yet, but this palette is amazing, so I had to feature it. I’ll show you the inside another time, but the shades are a mix of blues and neutrals, and it is stunning. BH Cosmetics has definitely been on my radar since they released the Naughty palette for holiday 2020.

EOS Toasted Marshmellow lip balm: I love the EOS lip balms, and I’ve had the Toasted Marshmellow one lying around for ages, so when I used up my Vanilla Bean one (which might still be my favourite scent), I started using the Toasted Marshmellow one, and it smells so good. Do I need to say that I love the colour of the packaging as well?

Ear Bisquits (podcast): I had never been listening to podcasts before this month, and I’m really enjoying it. My favourite so far is Ear Bisquits by Rhett and Link, and I knew that I would enjoy this one, because Good Mythical Morning is my favourite Youtube channel. I’m really excited to be listening to more podcasts in the future.

Big collective Zalando haul

I have a rather large collective Zalando haul to share with you. There’s a bit of everything; clothes, shoes, and one bag. Let’s start with the clothes.

I’ve had my eye on this pink and beige checked oversized blazer from Monki for a long time, and when I found it on sale, I decided to finally get it. I love the colours and I love the oversized fit. It’s a perfect spring blazer.

I really like pastels at the moment actually, and this little sweater vest from Stradivarius was just too cute not to buy.

Here’s another piece from Stradivarius with some slightly brighter pastel colours. And of course it has a Disney print. On the back of the T-shirt there’s a picture of Mickey and Minnie from the back, and it says Minnie as well.

I know, I know. Christmas is long over, but I like to buy Christmas jumpers on sale, and I didn’t have one with a gingerbread house on it. It’s from Vero Moda.

Other than pastels, I’m also obsessed with sequins and anything sparkly to be honest. This sequins set (purchased separately) is from Monki, and it’s beautiful. I can’t wait for the day I get to wear this.

I just received these pastel coloured cropped jeans from Bershka, and they might be the perfect spring jeans.

I talked about my love for coloured tights before, and I was very happy to find a teal pair and brown pair from the brand Lindex. I love how my collection of colourful tights is growing.

And now on to shoes. I haven’t bought a new pair of sneakers in quite a while, but I fell in love with these pastel coloured (last pastel item in this haul, I promise) sneakers from Buffalo. I don’t have any other shoes from Buffalo, so I wasn’t sure about the sizing, but my regular size in sneakers were too big, so I went down one size, and they fit. I wore them the other day, and they were really comfortable.

BEBO is a really affordable shoe brand that among other things makes great dupes of the Amina Muaddi style heels that I’m obsedded with (and you’ll see another pair of those in a few seconds). However, the brand also makes other fun shoes like these clear pumps with the most beautiful heels that are made out of what looks to be big beads. I’m so ready to go to a bunch of parties!

And speaking of the Amina Muaddi style heel these red beauties are also from BEBO, and I think that they are stunning!

Here’s another item that I’d been wanting for a long time. When I found these boots 40% off, I’m sure it was a sign for me to get them. They’re from Topshop, and they’re in this stunning dark burgundy colour. I just love a knee high boot!

The last two pieces are both from Monki, and as you can see, they’re both in denim. I feel like denim accessories have been around before, and I’ve always been intrigued by them, so I thought it was time to try some out. I love Monki shoes. Especially their boots which pretty much all has the same type of block heel and the same fit, and they fit my feet so well. I wore these denim lace up boots last week (they have a zipper on the side), and I loved wearing them. And why not get the matching denim hand bag. It’s a very nice little hand bag that’ll go with so many outfits.

MAC Black Box mystery box

Around New Year’s MAC sold a Black Box mystery box. Two of the items were not a mystery. I knew it contained an In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash mascara (full size) and a Brow Set (full size). Then it was supposed to contain two full size mystery items and three mini mystery items + a make-up bag. I received an e-mail before I got the parcel that they were out of the make-up bags, so I got a 25% off code to use on MAC’s website at some point. I’ve tried to use the code, but it didn’t work. Also, I only received two mini mystery items, so I didn’t have the best experience with this mystery box. However, I only paid the price of the mascara and the brow gel, so the other four products I got for free, which is pretty good.

One of the full size products I received where one of the limited edition Extra Dimension Foil eyeshadows from the 2020 holiday collection. I already own three of the five shades from this collection, and luckily I got one of the two shades I didn’t already have. This is the shade Sparktacular.

The other full size product I received was the Powder Kiss lipstick in Werk, Werk, Werk, which I do already own, but I really like this lipstick, so now I have a back up.

The two minis I received was two lipsticks. They’re in the shades Twig (satin finish) and Whirl (matte finish). I didn’t own any of these shades beforehand, and I really like both of them. I especially like Whirl, which is a really pretty brown shade.

MAC Moon Masterpiece

Chinese New Year was just over a month ago, and MAC has created another beautiful limited edition collection in celebration of the holiday. This year’s collection is called Moon Masterpiece, and I purchased three products from the collection.

I don’t think MAC releases enough blushes in their limited edition collections, but when they do, they’re usually super pretty. This is the powder blush duo in Good Health, Great Wealth which consists of two permanent shades; Melba (top shade) and Modern Mandarin (bottom shade). I didn’t have either of those shades in my collection already, so I think it’s nice to have them in this limited edition packaging.

Last year’s Lunar New Year collection from MAC contained the most stunning Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Double Gleam with a dragon design that quickly became one of my favourite highlighters (Double Gleam is a permanent shade btw). This year they did an equally stunning Extra Dimension Skinfinish with a fish design. It’s also the Double Gleam shade, so I’m going to keep this one untouched. I usually buy make-up to use it, but this was just too beautiful to pass on even though I already have the shade in my collection!

The last product I bought was of course a lipstick, and the lipsticks in this collection are the Powder Kiss lipstick formula that I’ve been loving lately. I picked up the shade Turn Up Your Luck which is a beautiful bright red, which is right up my alley.

Non-sale collective haul

After several sale hauls, I have a non-sale collective haul to share with you. This haul is a mix of clothes, shoes, and accessories.

I’ve been wanting a long, red coat for a while, and I’ve finally purchased one from H&M. I didn’t wear it out until last Saturday (because I’ve been going nowhere), but it looked great.

Yes, I’ve purchased another matching sweatsuit from H&M, and it’s so comfy, and I’ve already worn it a ton.

And sticking with matching sets, how cute is this lilac, yellow, brown, and white checked suit set? It’s from Monki, and I’ve also already worn this several times, and I’ve loved the looks I’ve created with it.

I don’t feel like I buy new jeans very often, but I love a good flare, and this dark blue wash is so nice. These are also from H&M.

When I saw these two indigo pieces on Monki website, I just couldn’t resist buying them. I definitely want to wear them together and do an all indigo look.

And I have more vests to share with you. This is another Monki vest, however not a sweater vest. I obviously love the colour, and I also really like the rhinestone buttons.

The next two vests are sweater vests, and they’re both from Zara and both are so cute. I wore the cream coloured one with pearls yesterday, and I think I’ll wear the blue one with the clouds tomorrow.

I have one more Zara piece to show you. There was just something about this idyllic nature print and the pastel colours that drew me to this jumper, and so far I’ve had a lot of fun styling it.

I have two pairs of boots to share with you. I’ve been wanting a pair of grey boots for a while, and these calf lengh kitten heel boots from H&M were just it. And look at those lilac knee high croc boots! They’re from Asos, and they are beautiful.

And last, but most certainly not least, I’ve purchased some jewellery. And not any jewellery. Mickey Mouse jewellery. When I saw all of these Mickey Mouse jewellery at H&M website a little while back, my heart skipped a beat. They are all so cute, and I’ve loved wearing them.

Zalando post Christmas/January sale haul

This is my last post Christmas/January sale haul. Finally. This is the smallest of these hauls, and it’s from Zalando.

I’ve added two more Disney T-shirts to my collection, and they’re both super cute. The one with Boo from Monsters Inc. is from Bershka, and the one with Stitch is from PULL&BEAR.

And the rest of the items are shoes. How fun are these cowboy boots from Raid! I love the print and colours, and I have already worn them with an outfit, so stay tuned for that look.

I might have a bit of an obsession with Amina Muaddi style heels, and BEBO makes very great dupes. Both of these pairs are really pretty, and I can’t wait to wear them.

5 favourites – February

February has come to an end, and I can almost smell that spring is on its way. February was another month in lock down, and even though the country will slowly be opening a little more up from tomorrow on, I still won’t be going physically back to work for while. So, I’ll continue to work from home (which is not easier or more relaxing when you are a teacher), and when I’m not working I get to watch a bunch of films and TV series, play The Sims 4, and play with make-up (and discover great new products). So it’s not all bad. Anyways, here are my 5 favourites from February.

Essence Volume Booster lash primer: I haven’t hauled this lash primer yet, but I’ve been using a lot, so I wanted to feature it in this post. I’ve been using it with the Fenty Beauty Full Frontal mascara that I did a first impressions post on recently, and I think it definitely adds some volume to my lashes that I think the Fenty Beauty mascara lacks a bit. It’s a super affordable lash primer as well, and I think Essence is doing such a great job with their products in general.

MAC Powderkiss lipsticks: I haven’t even posted a look with one of the MAC Powderkiss lipsticks yet, but they’ll be coming soon, and many of them, because I’ve been loving this lipstick formula. They have a very unique soft matte finish that I really like. They just look so flattering on the lips.

Huda Beauty Silk Balms: On the days where I don’t wear make-up, I always wear lip balm to moisturise my lips, and my favourite lip balms these days are the Huda Beauty Silk Balms. This is a limited edition holiday set with two glittery shades, which is a bit strange for a lip balm, but I really enjoy the formula, so I don’t mind the glitter. I’m sure they would make great, very moisturising lip toppers as well.

WandaVision (Tv series): I’m a big MCU fan, so I was excited to watch WandaVision when it came to Disney+. I’m not completely sure what I expected of this show, but it’s definitely different and in the best way possible. I was very confused throughout the first couple of episodes, and I have new questions after each new episode, but that’s what makes this show so interesting. If you’re a Marvel fan and haven’t gotten around to watch WandaVision yet, you really should.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV series): Here’s a series that I really didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I do. It’s my boyfriend’s favourite TV series, and I had promised him that I would watch the first episode with him, and here we are; two seasons in, and I’m really excited to watch the third and final season. Now I get why this is such a well-loved series.
