5 favourites – July

It’s the last day of the month, but my first day back to work after a long and wonderful maternity leave and holiday. It’s really nice to get back to work, but it’s also going to be strange and a bit difficult not spending the entire day everyday with my daughter anymore. At least I have my little family to come home to after work. Anyways, I had a lovely July with many make-up favourites (you discover some favourites when you travel with limited amounts of make-up) and a film favourite.

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop blurring skin tint (shade: 2): It took me over a year to get into this skin tint. I think it’s because I was still getting into skin tints in general around the time I bought this, but now I prefer a lighter coverage foundation most days.

KimChi Chic Candy Girl Fake Freckles in Afternoon in The Flower Field: After my pregnancy last year, some of my natural freckles became more visible, so I decided to try a faux freckles product, and I instantly fell in love with this one from KimChi Chic. I’m wearing it in my last three make-up posts (and in many more to come), and I think it looks really good.

Cosmic Brushes eyeshadow palettes: It’s been a while since I’ve featured an eyeshadow palette in one of these posts, because I try so many new ones, but I’ve loved the eyeshadow palettes from Cosmic Brushes this past month. I brought both the Royal Rose palette and the Serenity palette with my on holiday, and I was able to create so many different looks with them. The quality of these eyeshadows is amazing.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Luminous Putty bronzers (shades: Summer Fridays and Vacay Mood): The original e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty bronzer in Tan Lines is one of my most used cream bronzer, and I was very happy to discover that the luminous version is just as good. I love both a warm and a cool shade.

Barbie (film): This is a very recent favourite, because I watched it just yesterday. I’ve loved Barbie since I was a child, so I was so excited about this film, and it didn’t disappoint. If you like Barbie and comedy, it’s a must watch.

5 favourites – June

June has come to an end, and so has my maternity leave. Luckily, my July consists of four weeks of holiday, so I still have a bit of time left at home with my baby, before I’m going back to work in August. I’m very excited about spending my holiday with my little family and my extended family. We’ve had very nice weather lately, so hopefully it continues. I had lots of favourites this month, but I managed to pick five, so let’s talk about those.

Pink Crocs Mega Crush sandals: My love for Crocs continues. As per usual, I haven’t hauled most of the stuff in this 5 favourites post, these Crocs sandals included. However, I had to include these, because I’ve worn them a lot. They’re super comfy as Crocs are, and I think they’re pretty cute too.

e.l.f. Skin Suntouchable! Whoa Glow SPF 30 sunscreen: I hate the feeling of sunscreen on my body and especially on my face, but this one from e.l.f. Skin, which is also a make-up primer, doesn’t feel like sunscreen at all. It protects the skin, but also leaves the most beautiful glow. I’m a bit obsessed with this product to be honest. It works and looks great with and without make-up on.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Ultra-Blur (shade: Translucent): I’ve never tried a Laura Mercier powder I didn’t like, but this one might take the cake. It just blurs the skin in the most beautiful and natural way, and it makes your make-up last all day.

Colourpop Super Shock shadows: I know people have been loving these eyeshadows for years, but I didn’t try Colourpop as a brand until this year. However, these cream-to-powder shadows are stunning, and I often use them as toppers to add a little extra shimmer to my eye looks. The picture shows the ones I’ve worn in June.

KAYALI Eden Juicy Apple | 01 Eau de Parfum: I received the haul that included this perfume right around the time I found out that I was pregnant last year, and I didn’t wear perfume throughout my pregnancy or for the first many months after having my daughter. It’s not until more recently that I started wearing a bit of perfume again, and this one has been my most worn one. It’s the perfect spring and summer scent; it’s just so fresh and fruity.

5 favourites – May

It’s the last day of spring (calendar-wise), and I’m so excited about the warmer weather we’ve been having lately. June will be my last month on maternity leave, however, in July I’m taking vacation time, and then I’m going back to work in August (or July 31 to be exact). I’ll try to really enjoy the rest of my maternity leave and the summer. But first, let’s talk about some favourites from the month of May, which are all make-up products.

Missha M Perfect Cover B.B Cream Spf 42 (shade: 21 Light Beige): When you first apply this product, it looks almost grey, but as you blend it out, they grey undetone disappears, and it just looks beautiful on the skin. It has great coverage as well.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Brightening Flawless Finish powder (shade: Fair/Medium): The original Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder is one of my absolute favourite powders, so I was very excited to try the brigthening version. It’s definitely brightening, and it looks beautiful on the undereye area.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Brow Lift: The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze is my all time favourite brow gel, but this one from e.l.f. Cosmetics is a very good alternative. They look and feel quite similar. The only difference I’ve found is that the ABH Brow Freeze keeps the hold longer, but I still really enjoy the e.l.f. Cosmetics version (which is also a lot more affordable).

Colourpop Super Shock cheeks: These are a new obsession of mine. I’ve completely fallen in love with the Super Shock cheek formulas. I love both the bronzer and blushes as well as the highlighters. I’ve worn all the colours you see in the picture plus more throughout May.

Hydrating lip tints/lip stains: I decided to put these two products as one favourite, because they’re similar in multiple ways. I’ve been loving these hydrating liquid lip products which tint the lips and leave a stain. The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch tinted lip oils are very liquidy and thin, whereas the Fenty Beauty Poutsicle hydrating lip stains are a little thicker in texture. Both products are stunning on the lips and so comfortable.

5 favourites – April

Another month has come to an end, and I can’t believe how quickly time flies by. I’m still enjoying my maternity leave, so I spend my days with my daughter, and it’s incredible to see her grow. We’re heading into the last month of spring, but I’m still longing for warmer spring weather. The days are longer and lighter, but it’s not particularly warm outside. Anyways, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from the month of April.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Holy Hydration! face cream: The past couple of years I’ve been a bit more interested in skincare and trying different products, and one product that is always a part of my daily skincare routine is a good moisturiser. At the moment, I’m using this one from e.l.f. and I’m really enjoying it. I got the fragrance free version, and I love the texture of the product. It has hyaluronic acid and peptide complex in it, which are ingredients I really like.

Tarte Sculpt Tape contour (shade: Cool Bronze): I’d heard great things about this contour wand, and that it’s supposed to be similar to the famous Charlotte Tilbury one. I haven’t tried the Charlotte Tilbury version yet, but I really like this Tarte one. It blends out so easily and looks really natural on the skin.

Colourpop custom face palette (pressed powders): Colourpop recently released a permanent line of pressed bronzer, pressed blushes, and pressed highlighters. You can buy them in individual cases or just in the pan so you can place them in an empty palette. As you can see, I did the latter. My palette contains one bronzer, three blushes, and two highlighters, and I travelled with this palette in the very beginning of the month, and it was the perfect travel face palette.

Maanesten earrings + necklace: I got this jewellery set for my birthday last year, and I’ve worn it a lot ever since, but especially this past month. The picture also shows a bracelet, but I’ve only been wearing the necklace and earrings, and I’ve been wearing those so often.

You (TV series): I watched the first season of You a few years ago, but it wasn’t until this past month that I finally decided to watch the rest, and I’m so glad I did. My two favourite seasons are season 2 and 3, and I’m excited for the 5th and final season, which I think will be released in 2024.

5 favourites – March

March has come to an end, and what an eventful month it was! We moved to a new apartment in a new town in the very beginning of the month (moving is always a little stressful) and last Sunday we celebrated our daughter’s christening; it was such a lovely day. Now, I’m looking forward to a more calm April. We’re going to spend time with my family celebrating Easter, and we’re also going to unpack some more boxes, which will be nice. But first, let’s talk about some March favourites.

Iconic London Underglow blurring primer: I’ve been wanting to try this primer ever since I first saw it, but it kept being sold out everywhere, so when I finally found it in stock and on sale, I ordered it right away. It has a pretty unique texture, but I kind of like it, and I love the subtle glow that it gives the skin.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Star Shadow in Nude Honeymoon: I featured this liquid eyeshadow in a recent haul, even though I’ve had it for a little while. It has been my go-to eyeshadow on days where I don’t have that much time to do my make-up. It looks great blended out all over the lid with sparkly eyeshadows on top such as my next favourite.

R.E.M. Beauty Midnight Shadows liquid eyeshadows: I have a R.E.M. Beauty haul coming up, so you haven’t seen these eyeshadows on my blog yet. These liquid eyeshadows are so shimmery, shiny, and pretty; I’m especially loving the shade on the left called Fembot. I’m wearing it on top of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Star Shadow in Nude Honeymoon here.

Beauté Pacifique Enriched Hydrating hand cream: My hands were super dry in the beginning of the month, and this hand cream saved them. It’s not too thick and not too thin, and it sinks into the skin quickly, and it just works.

New make-up storage setup: Before I moved I picked up another set of Alex 9-drawers from Ikea to accommodate my growing make-up collection, and I love this new setup. My make-up table/vanity is to the left next to the plant and right in front of a big window, and it’s the best lighting for make-up I’ve ever had. I just love my new make-up corner!

5 favourites – February

The last month of winter has come to an end, and I spent the month getting ready to move. Actually, we get the keys to our new apartment today, and I’m so excited for my little family to start a new chapter in our lives. So March is going to be very eventful, and I have lots to look forward to. But first, let’s talk favourites from the month of February, and all five favourites are beauty related this month. I’ve packed most of my make-up a week and a half ago, but kept a selection to wear until I get to unpack my make-up at the new apartment, and all of the products in this 5 favourites post are a part of that selection.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Jelly Pop dew primer: I’ve really been enjoying this primer lately. It’s similar to the Power Grip primer, but it’s a little less sticky and it also smells like watermelon. I also like that it’s a mini, so it’s very travel friendly.

NYX Born To Glow naturally radiant foundation (shade: Porcelain): I’ve purchased a lot of foundations lately (though I haven’t hauled them yet), and of the once I’ve tried so far, this one is my favourite. It’s not a new product on the market, but I’ve been wanting to try it for a while, and I’m not disappointed. It’s just the kind of foundation I’m into at the moment.

Sigma Beauty Matte Bronzer (shade: Light): I’ve been really into cream bronzer for quite some time, so it’s been a while since I’ve loved a matte powder bronzer, but this one is just so good. The shade is great on me, and it blends beautifully on the skin.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow powder puff: I never thought that I would like a powder puff, but after trying one of these triangular ones, I get the hype.

Fourth Ray Beauty Avatar: The Last Airbender Jasmine Tea lip mask: I have a huge Colourpop haul coming up (my first one ever!), and the only product I got from their skincare line, Fourth Ray Beauty, was this lip mask. I got it because it’s from the Avatar: The Last Airbender collection (I really like that show), but it’s actually really nice. It smells lovely, and it sinks into my lips overnight and leaves them really soft.

5 favourites – January

The first month of 2023 has come to an end. January always feels longer than the other months, and even though it felt like this one went by a little faster than usual now that I have a baby, it was still pretty long. February will probably be a bit more stressful, since me and my little family is moving in March, but I’m really looking forward to be moving into a bigger place. Anyways, it’s the last day of the month, which means that it’s time for my monthly 5 favourites.

Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (shade: Fair/Light): I’ve discovered two great correctors within the last six months. I use a corrector on my under eye area most times I do my make-up these days, and I really do see a difference. I know that this one has been a favourite among people even back when Becca was still it’s own brand, but I didn’t try it out until recently.

Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless bronzer (shade: Power Boost): I’ve heard so many beauty youtubers say that this cream bronzer is one of their absolute favourites, and I get why. I don’t think I’d go as far as saying that it’s my absolute favourite, but a favourite it sure is.

Morphe Continuous setting mist: This isn’t just a January favourite, this setting spray has been a favourite of mine for months, I’ve just forgotten to include it in a favourites post. It has the finest mist, and it’s just such a good setting spray.

MAC Fast Response Eye Cream: I love it when I receive a free gift with purchase that I end up really enjoying. That’s the case with this eye cream. I love the texture of it, and I think my under eyes look really good these days.

National Treasure: Edge of History (TV series): I like the National Treasure films despite disliking Nicolas Cage as an actor, so I thought that I would definitely give this series a watch. I’ve been watching it with my boyfriend, and we both really enjoy. I’m excited to see how it ends.

5 favourites – December

Happy New Year! Another year has come to an end, and what a year! My biggest dream came true this year, when I became a mother in October, so it’s safe to say that 2022 was my favourite year so far. I’m super excited about 2023; I’m sure it’s going to be a great year as well with many exciting things to come. But before we jump into the new year, let’s say goodbye to the old one with some December favourites.

Black velvet trousers (H&M): I haven’t hauled these trousers yet, but I have already featured them in a couple of outfit posts. They’re just super comfy, and you can easily dress them both up and down.

Silver glitter chunky heels (Monki): When I saw these heels from Monki, I just had to have them. They’re the perfect pair of party shoes, and I’ve worn them for all the festive occasions this holiday season.

Huda Beauty Glowish Blur Jam silicone-free smoothing primer: Here’s another item I haven’t hauled yet, but I’ve already worn this primer a lot. It has a very unique texture and it’s cooling on the skin, which I really like. And it really is smoothing as the name suggests.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Liquid Filter (shade: 1 Fair): I’ve been wanting to try this product since I first saw it. I love the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, and this is a great dupe for it. It actually has a little more coverage than the Charlotte Tilbury one, and it just looks stunning on the skin.

Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator (shade: 20 Fair): I purchased this foundation a couple of months ago, but I didn’t get into using it until recently, and I’m really enjoying it. It has the perfect amount of coverage and I really like the finish.

5 favourites – November

Tomorrow it’s finally December; my favourite month! It’s obviously my daughter’s first Christmas, and I can’t wait to celebrate it with her, my boyfriend, and the rest of my family. But first, I’m going to round-up November with some favourites. Even though I haven’t worn make-up that often this past month, all the favourites I’m going to feature in this post are make-up/beauty products. I do have other favourites, but they’re baby-related, so I won’t include those.

NYX Bare With Me concealer serum (shade: 02 Light): I’ve had this concealer for a while, and it wasn’t love at first try, but I’ve since discovered that it applies best with a concealer brush or with fingers. However, I do use a sponge lightly after I’ve applied it with a brush. It has a beautiful finish and texture, and I’ve grown to really enjoy this concealer.

Sigma Beauty Eyeshadow Base Primer (shade: Persuade): My MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly will probably always be my favourite eyeshadow base/primer, but I’ve been loving this Sigma Beauty Eyeshadow Base Primer lately, and it’s nice to have more than one great eyeshadow primer.

Oden’s Eye Christmas Eve palette + Merry Christmas palette: I know I haven’t hauled these palettes yet, and I’ve only worn each of them once so far, but I was so impressed by the quality and the colour stories that I had to feature them in this post. Oden’s Eye eyeshadows are becoming some of my favourites in general.

Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink liquid lipsticks: I’d heard great things about these liquid lipsticks, and I’m not disappointed. I’m actually really impressed by this formula, and now I want all the shades.

MAC Lip Conditioner: I think you’re supposed to use this product before you apply lipliner and lipstick, but I’ve been using it every night before bed for weeks now, and I’ve loved to use it that way. It’s very moisturising, and it has that classic MAC vanilla scent, which I love.

The last ones

Here’s what I wore Monday October 17. These are the last pictures I took of me with my pregnant belly, because I went into labour later that day and my daughter was born the next day.

(Cardigan – H&M, T-shirt – H&M MAMA, leggings – Asos Maternity, socks – Asos Design, sneakers – Nike)
