5 favourites – December

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’ll all have a wonderful night. This is going to be the last post of the year, and of course it’s going to be my December favourites post. December was a busy month, but also a great month where I had a lot of great times with friends and family. I’m looking forward to 2015, but before we jump into the new year, here’s 5 of my favourite things from December.

Vaseline håndcreme

Vaseline (healthy hands + stronger nails) hand cream: I use this hand cream every night right before I go to bed (and have done so the past two years), but in the cold months like December where my hands tend to get really dry, I use it during the day as well. It’s a really nice and very affordable hand cream, and it works very well for me. I believe that my nails have become stronger as well, so I highly recommend this hand cream.

Revlon Ultimate liquid lipstick in Top Tomato

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick (colour: 050 Top Tomato): This beautiful red liquid lipstick has been one of my favourite lip products this month, most likely because of the shimmery red colour which is very appropriate for the Christmas season. I like that it dries to a matte finish and it lasts on the lips all day long.

Brødrene Mortensens jul dvd

Brødrene Mortensens jul (TV Christmas advent calendar): Children’s TV Christmas advent calendars is a big thing in Denmark and other Nordic countries. It’s a TV series of 24 episodes where each episode corresponds to each day up until Christmas Eve. They are typically made for children, but a lot of grown-ups watch them too. Personally I’m a huge fan of TV Christmas advent calendars, and one that I watch every year is Brødrene Mortensens jul (The Christmas of the Mortensen brothers).

Winter glow te 3

Pickwick Winter glow tea: I’m a huge tea drinker, but I’ve never really liked Christmas inspired tea flavours, until this year. I’ve been loving this Winter glow tea that tastes like a mix of cinnamon, clove, and orange. Very Christmassy.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas – Michael Bublé: I love Christmas music, and my favourite Christmas song this year has been Michael Bublé’s version of this classic Christmas song. It’s just so beautiful, happy, and Christmassy. That’s all I look for in a Christmas song. I know it might be to late for you to listen to it now, so look at it as a little inspiration for next years Christmas playlist.

5 favourites – November

It’s the last day of November which means that it’s the first day of December tomorrow! December is my favourite month; the only thing I don’t like about it is the cold weather. I love everything Christmassy though, so I’m really excited about December:) But first, here’s 5 favourites from November.

Halsedisse

Neck warmer: This is definitely not the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the world, but it’s warm and practical and that’s my top priorities for outerwear in the autumn and winter time.

DSC_4813

MAC Heirloom Mix Miniralize blusher in Modest Blush: As I wrote the other day in my post about the MAC Holiday collections I’m really satisfied with the products I bought. The product I’ve been wearing the most is the blusher. I’ve worn it every day but one since I bought it. It simply is the perfect everyday blusher.

the-hunger-games-the-hunger-games-28620884-1280-800

The Hunger Games films: I’d heard a lot about The Hunger Games, especially the films, but I didn’t get to watch them until this month and as it turns out, I really like them. The first one is definitely my favourite but I like Catching Fire and Mockingjay – Part 1 as well. And of course I have to watch the last one when it comes out.

The Vampire Diaries season 3 (2)

The Vampire Diaries – season 3: I finally got around to watch the third season of The Vampire Diaries and just as the previous two seasons, I loved it. I can’t wait to watch the next seasons.

Imaginary Enemy (album) – The Used: My favourite album of the month is the newest one by The Used. I’ve have listened to The Used’s music for years, and I was happy to discover how great an album Imaginary Enemy is. I think the songs are very catchy and I love Bert McCracken’s voice. Here you can listen to the first single from the album which is one of my favourites.

5 favourites – October

First of all: Happy Halloween to everyone who celebrates that (I personally don’t due to the fact that it’s not that big of a thing in Denmark). It’s time to say goodbye to October and hello to November. I’ve been quite busy the past few weeks, and I’m sure I’ll continue to be busy the next couple of months, but I’ll still try to blog every day, because I need a break from studying every now and again. This month I’ve once again discovered (or rediscovered) some items that I’ve come to love, and here’s 5 of them.

Sorte støvletter m. plateau - B&CO

Black platform boots by B&CO: These boots are one of my all-time favourite pairs of shoes. I wore them A LOT last autumn and winter, and so far I’m doing the same this year. They’re so comfortable and go with so many different looks. Love them!

DSC_4628

L’oréal Skin Perfection Awakening Eye Cream: I know I just mentioned the L’oréal Skin Perfection products yesterday, but I really like them, and so far I’m especially impressed by the eye cream. When I’m busy I get really tired, and as I mentioned yesterday I truly think this eye cream makes me look more awake.

DSC_4632

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (colour: 040 Red Velvet): I bought this Revlon Lip Butter shortly before I left England, but I didn’t start wearing it until this month, because I find it to be a more autumn/winter appropriate colour. I was pleasantly suprised when I first tried it on, because it’s even more gorgeous than I expected it to be. I haven’t posted any pictures of me wearing it yet (I know I’m really behind with outfit/make-up posts), but I’ll do so in the nearest future.

DSC_4474

Make-up sponge: I purchased this make-up sponge last week, and I can’t believe I haven’t used a sponge to apply my foundation (and concealer) before, because it’s amazing. It blends out your foundation so well and makes it look really natural. This is just a cheap make-up sponge, and it’s probably not very good compared to the Beautyblender, but I like it.

Air Guitar – McBusted: YES! McBusted’s debut album is coming out on December 1, but their first single came out earlier this month and I love it! The sound of the song is exactly how I would have imagined an original McBusted sound to be like. I have to say though that I’ve been waiting years now for the next McFly album to be released, but even though it looks like that’s not going to happen for a while, I’m still very exited about the McBusted album.

5 favourites – September

There’s only a few hours left of September which has been a great, but busy month for me. Studying has been taking up most of my time, but I’ve had time to party and hang out with awesome people (friends as well as family) as well. Before we jump into October I want to share a few of my favourite things from September with you.

DSC_1990

Creepers by The Fabulous Creepers: As I wrote when I first bought these creepers, I had been on the hunt for the perfect pair, and I’m pretty sure these might be it. I’ve worn them quite a lot this month compared to how many shoes I’ve got, and I’ve already posted one outfit wearing them, and I have a couple of more to show you.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation: My skin has been in a bad condition lately, so I’ve been needing a bit more coverage than usual. I’ve been wearing this foundation almost every day for the past 1,5 month. It’s a light coverage foundation, so you can still see the skin through the product which I love and it still covers up blemishes (to some extent). I use it together with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer for even more coverage.

1_pocket_garden

Pocket Garden (iPad game): I love playing all sorts of games and pretty much all I’ve been playing the past month (when I’ve had the time) is Pocket Garden on my iPad. I’m obsessed with this game! You basically have you own garden where you grow all sorts of veggies, fruits, flowers, and so on, and then you take orders from restaurants etc. that you have to complete. Love it!

ally mcbeal

Ally McBeal – season 1 + 2: I love watching TV-series and this past month I’ve been watching the first two seasons of Ally McBeal (I’m currently watching the 3rd season). I didn’t think I would enjoy this series as much as I am, but it’s actually very entertaining. I’ve borrowed all three seasons from my mum and I would usually take a picture of the DVD covers but I already gave her back the first two seasons. She doesn’t own the last two seasons, so it might be a while before I get to watch them.

Call Me Irresponsible (album) – Michael Bublé: I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned it before but I’m a huge fan of Michael Bublé’s music. I bought this album about a year ago I think and I’ve loved it all along, but this month in particular I’ve been listening to it a lot. This music just gets me in such a great mood. I love all the songs on the album, but thought you should start by listening to the title song (if you want to of course).

5 favourites – August

Today is the last day of August which means that by tomorrow it’s officially autumn. August has mainly been a good month, and even though it’s a bit sad that it’s no longer summer, I’m looking forward to September. But first things first; here’s my August favourites.

DSC_3859

Hugo Boss Nuit Pour Femme perfume: I got this perfume for Christmas last year, but then I went to England in January (where I decided to bring this perfume), so I didn’t really get around to wear it until August. It’s been my most worn perfume this month and has become one of my favourite everyday scents.

DSC_3866

Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in black: As I mentioned in this post, I’ve never been a big fan of black liner on me, but after figuring out how to use this felt tip liner, I’ve been loving a thin black line paired with a simple neutral eye look.

DSC_3868

Simple graphic silver necklace from H&M: I’ve been loving this new addition to my jewellery collection. I got the gold version as well, but since I wear silver jewellery more often than gold, this one has been my favourite. It’s just the perfect little detail to almost any outfit.

Pretty Little Liars season 2 + 3

Pretty Little Liars – season 2 + 3: In my favourites post from April I mentioned Pretty Little Liars season 1 and how hooked I was on the show. Well, for my birthday in the beginning of August I got season 2 + 3 on DVD, and I watched both seasons within two weeks. This show has giving me thrills like no other show or film I’ve ever seen and that says it all.

Long Road Home (album) – Charlie Simpson: I’ve expressed my love for Charlie Simpson’s amazing music before, and his new album Long Road Home is incredible. I’ve been listening to the whole album countless times the past month, and here you can listen to the title song and one of my favourites.

5 favourites – July

July has now come to an end, and it’s been a month of ups and downs. Even though it’s been a sad month in some way, I’ve had some good times as well. Here’s 5 favourites from the month of July.

MAC paint pot - Painterly 2

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly: I’m so glad I bought this paint pot. It’s the perfect base for any eye make-up look, but especially neutral ones. I’ve been wearing it non stop the past month.

DSC_3222

e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara: As I mentioned here, I’d been looking for a clear brow gel and finally decided to get this one from e.l.f; and I’m glad I did. It keeps my eyebrows in place all day long and it’s so affordable.

Revlon balm stain - Lovesick

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (colour: 020 Lovesick): It’s not the first one of these bad boys you’ve seen in a favourites post (actually it’s the third), but I just love them. This hot pink one is my most worn lip product this month, so I had to feature it in this post.

DSC_3513

Braided ponytail (hairstyle): This is the first hairstyle I’ve featured in a favourites post, but due to the warm weather this has been my go-to hairstyle. A braided ponytail is such a nice way of keeping your hair away from your face.

What would Audrey do 1

What Would Audrey Do? – Pamela Keogh: I usually don’t read much (I usually only read for my studies), but in the beginning of July I read this lovely book about one of my favourite actresses. If you’re a big fan of Miss Hepburn (like I am) I’m sure you’ll enjoy this book about every aspect of her life. I’m sure she can teach you a thing or two:)

5 favourites – June

The first month of summer will be over by tomorrow, but thankfully another will begin. I had yet another great month with memorable events. Of course I have had some favourites this month as well, and here’s five of them.

DSC_3112

Stila All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten: I’ve been obsessed with this highlighter duo ever since I bought it, and not many days have gone by where I haven’t worn it. Everything about this product is beautiful.

EcoTools blending + smudge brush

EcoTools blending/smudge brush: I love both brushes from this set, but especially the blending/smudge brush. I’ve been using the blending side of the brush almost everyday this month, and the smudge side of the brush is very lovely as well.

Sakseøreringe

Scissors earrings: I bought these earrings in Berlin in 2008, and I’ve always loved them and worn them often, but this month I’ve been wearing them exceptionally often. I don’t remember where I bought them, and I don’t know the brand, and I’ve never seen anything similar to these, so they’ll probably always be one of my favourite pairs of earrings.

Hvide solbriller m. sorte prikker

White sunglasses with black dots from Primark: These have probably been my most worn sunglasses this month. As I’ve mentioned before, I love the retro feel to them and how gorgeous they look paired with a bright pink or red lip.

IMG_1445

One Direction concert: I have another concert as a favourite this month, and this time it’s the One Direction concert I went to in Copenhagen with my youngest sister. If you want to read my thoughts about it, you can check out this post, but to keep it short – it was awesome!

5 favourites – May

Where did May go? I really can’t believe that May is already gone and that the first month of summer starts tomorrow. May was such a great month. Probably the best month of 2014 so far. I got to see Scouting for Girls live at a big party with two lovely ladies, I handed in my last assignment for this semester, I went home to Denmark to be a part of my youngest sister’s confirmation which was such a lovely day (outfit will be on the blog soon), I went to the McBusted concert in Nottingham and went on several other day trips around England, so I would say that May did me good. My stay here in England is soon coming to an end, and I’ll make a post about my stay here when I’m back in Denmark, but for now I’ll share with you 5 favourites from the month of May:)

DSC_3162

Batiste Dry Shampoo Fresh Cool & Crisp: I usually don’t get very excited about hair products, but I do love dry shampoo and I’d been wanting to try out one of the Batiste ones for a while. As I wrote here, I wanted one with a fresh scent. I can’t describe what this one smells like, but it sure is a fresh scent and I think it works incredibly well too, so I’m a fan:)

DSC_3166

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear concealer (shade: Fair 1): This is actually not particularly a May favourite; it’s been an absolute favourite since I bought the first one (the bottom one in the picture) in March, but I thought I would mention it now since I bought a stock of this concealer. I love that it comes in a very fair shade, because it can be difficult to find a good concealer colour wise when you have rather fair skin. Other than that it just does the job of covering spots/blemishes and under eye darkness as well. As you can see the text wears off really quickly, but if that doesn’t bother you I would definitely recommend this concealer.

DSC_3163

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain (colour: 045 Romantic): I’ve been really into wearing red lips the past month or so, and this balm stain from Revlon has been my favourite shade (I’m wearing it here and here). And then let me just mention again how much I love these balm stains. If you’re a girl who loves lip products and you haven’t tried these, you’re missing out on something great. Just saying:)

GoodMythicalMorning-HappyBirthdayRhett100

Good Mythical Morning (Youtube channel): I watch a lot (emphasis on lot) of Youtube videos daily, and Good Mythical Morning has become a part of my daily routine:) I’d heard about Rhett and Link before and their main channel on Youtube, but it wasn’t until a stumbled upon GMM that I found out how hilarious these guys are. I’m still not convinced by their main channel, but I’m loving GMM and it definitely makes a great start to my day:)

DSC00221

McBusted concert: This probably doesn’t come as a surprise, but the McBusted concert I went to on May 20 was the highlight of my month! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and it fulfilled all of my expectations and even more than that. It was a night that I’ll remember for the rest of my life:)

5 favourites – April

Another great month has come to an end. I went to London with two friends in the beginning of the month and afterwards I went home to spend my Easter holiday with my family. I’ve had a great time in England so far, and I’m really looking forward to May where I have several exciting events coming up. But first things first; here’s 5 favourites from the month of April.

DSC_2453

Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro primer: I have to mention this primer that I talked about for the first time in this post. I wrote back then that I loved it, and I still do. It’s the perfect base for any make-up look, because it simply makes your skin look and feel good. This is a product that I would definitely repurchase.

DSC_2456

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain (colour: 001 Honey): I only mentioned this particular balm stain a few days ago, but I bought it in the very beginning of April and I’ve been wearing it a lot. It’s just such an easy colour to wear, because it goes with pretty much any make-up look. I love the Revlon balm stains and I wouldn’t mind having all of them in my make-up collection:)

DSC_2460

Real Techniques base shadow brush: Last month one of my 5 favourites was the Real Techniques deluxe creash brush which I still love, but this month I’ve opened my eyes to how versitile this base shadow brush is. Obviously it’s perfect for a applying your eye shadow base, but it’s also really great for blending, so some days I’ve been doing my eye make-up with pretty much only this brush.

AmazingSpiderMan2Banner

The Amazing Spiderman 2: I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this, but Spiderman is my absolute favourite superhero (I actuallly don’t care about any other superheroes). I love the Spiderman trilogy with Tobey Maguire, so I was a bit sceptical when The Amazing Spiderman with Andrew Garfield as Spidey was out in 2012. I didn’t watch that one in the cinema, but bought the DVD later on, and I loved it, so of course I had to go to the cinema and watch the second one. I went last Saturday with two friends and guess what… I loved it:)

Pretty Little Liars season 1

Pretty Little Liars – season 1: I would usually end this post with I song that I’ve been listening to a lot the past month, but I’ve been listening to a lot of different music this month and found it difficult to pick out just one song, so I thought I would mention a TV series instead. When my mum visited me in February she didn’t only give me season 1 of Girls, she also gave me season 1 of Pretty Little Liars. I started watching it a few days ago and I’m hooked. At first I didn’t thought I would be as hooked as I am, but it’s really thrilling. All the time you’re wondering what’s gonna happen next, and there’s a lot of cliff hangers which make you wanna watch more. And of course there’s A LOT of love drama as well which I like:)

5 favourites – March

I can’t believe that today is the last day of March! March has been a really busy month for me with a lot of uni work, but I also went on two amazing day trips (Cardiff of March 1 and Brighton on March 29), my dad paid me a visit, I hung out with great people and did A LOT of shopping (I still have a bunch of stuff to show you guys). Of course I also had some favourite items this month that I’m going to show you right now:)

Sort nederdel m. leopardmønster - H&M

Black skirt with velvety leopard print from H&M: As I told you in this post I’ve developed a growing love for this skirt which is not a type of skirt that I normally buy. As it turns out, this skirt has so many styling opportunities and I’ve been wearing it quite a lot the past month (e.g. here and here).

DSC_1805

Real Techniques deluxe crease brush: If you are looking for affordable good quality make-up brushes I would definitely recommend Real Techniques. I’ve been loving this particular brush this month. It’s soft and fluffy and great for blending, especially in the crease which the name suggests. It does collect a lot of pigment from the eye shadow, so you might have to layer eye shadow if you want a darker look. I’m not a brush expert so this might be common for this type of brush, but this particular one sure is great for blending and I love it:)

Girls season 1

Girls – season 1: My mum gave me this when she was visiting me in February, but I didn’t watch it until the beginning of March. I’d heard about ‘Girls’ before, but didn’t really know what it was about, but I got hooked. It’s kind of a mix of Sex and the City and Bridget Jones’ Diary, but for twenty-something girls. At least I find it very entertaining, and I would love to watch the following seasons as well.

Comforting liquorice 3

Twinings Comforting Liquorice tea: I LOVE tea. Especially fruit tea and liquorice tea. Back in Denmark I always have a couple of boxes of Pickwick’s liquorice tea, so I was really happy to find this liquorice tea from Twinings. It tastes pretty much the same as the Pickwick one, but this one is supposedly comforting as well. I don’t know if that’s a fact, but I sure enjoy drinking this delicious liquorice tea.

Winter Hymns – Charlie Simpson: Over a year ago I linked you to a couple lovely songs by my favourite singer and songwriter Charlie Simpson, and oh my god he has done it again. You know that feeling you get when you listen to a song for the first time and just instantly love it; that’s the feeling I had the first time I listened to ‘Winter Hymns’. It doesn’t happen to me that often (and I listen to a lot of music), but Charlie has given me that feeling a couple of times before which just shows how amazingly talented he is. I can’t wait for him to release his next album.
