5 favourites – July

Another month has come to an end, and the last official summer month will start tomorrow. I really wish the summer weather would make an appearance soon. We’ve only had about 4-5 days of real summer in Denmark in the beginning of the month, but despite the not-so-summery weather, July was still a great month. I had a friend visiting me for 16 days and we had a great time. I’ve also spent a lot of time with my family and all in all my holiday has been great so far. Here’s a few favourites from the month of July.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Bare Study: Last year in my July favourites post I also featured a paint pot, and this time it’s the Bare Study one. I’ve used it almost every day since I bought it; either as a base or on it’s own.

MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NC20: Another MAC product I’ve been loving this month. I use it to cover up spots and redness, and I think it’s a great concealer for that purpose.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Strawberry Kissed: I did a bit of shopping at Sephora when I went to Copenhagen with my friend earlier this month, but I haven’t had the opportunity to make a Sephora haul post yet. One of the products I bought was this liquid lipstick, and it’s so good. It dries completely matte and it’s really pigmented and long lasting + the colour is gorgeous.

Restaurant royale ipad

Cooking Academy Restaurant Royale (iPad game): I love cooking games (though I don’t like to cook in real life), and I’ve played this one on/off for almost a year, but because of the summer holiday I’ve actually had time to play games on my iPad, and this is the game I’ve been playing the most.

magic-mike-xxl_nws7

Magic Mike XXL (film): I was very disappointed in the first Magic Mike film (like many others), but my friend and I decided to give the second one a go anyways, and this time I wasn’t disappointed. The first film was very serious and a bit boring to be frank, but XXL was the male stripper comedy most people (especially women I guess) had wished for the first film to be. It was obviously not the most fantastic film I’ve ever watched, but it was very entertaining, and I wouldn’t mind watching it again;)

Drugstore make-up on sale

DSC_6875DSC_6869DSC_6872

As I mentioned in this post I’ve done a lot of shopping lately, and here’s some make-up I bought at the drugstore. I’ve been wanting to try the L’Oréal Lumi Magique primer for a while and so far I like it. I haven’t tried the L’Oréal Infallible 24H-Matte foundation yet, but I’m interested in seeing how matte it really is. I found the mascara, blusher, and lip liner really cheap on sale. I like the mascara, but not as much as I like the regular The Falsies mascara. I already knew that I would like the blusher, because I have one in another colour, but I haven’t tried the lip liner yet, so I’m looking forward to try it.

Summer tops

At the same time as I bought these four pairs of shorts I also bought these four tops. The two crop tops are from H&M, and I wore both of them when the weather was great in Denmark. The top with the Amy Winehouse print it also from H&M, and the black top is from Gina Tricot, and I really like them both. I’ll be posting outfits where I’m wearing some of these in the nearest future (hopefully).

Growing MAC obsession

As you might know I didn’t shop much at all in April, May, and June, but in this month I got back on the shopping track, and I’ve bought quite a lot, so I should probably start saving again soon. I’ll show you what I’ve bought in several posts. First up are these three products from MAC. My MAC obsession grows bigger by the hour, and I’ve been wanting to add these products to my collection in ages. I’ve been craving the lipstick in Up the Amp for about 9 months and I can’t believe I didn’t buy it sooner. It’s the most gorgeous, wearable, purple shade, and I’m obsessed with it. Next I bought the Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Bare Study with the intention of using it for an easy and quick summer eye make-up, and I’ve worn it most days since I bought it. Lastly, I’ve bought the Pro Longwear concealer because I’m almost running out of my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (which is amazing), and I’d heard that it should be really good. I’ve got the shade NC20, and so far I really like it.

Four pairs of shorts

The Danish weather has been great the past week (sadly, it’s not so great today), so I needed some new summer clothes. I went shopping last Monday and I bought four pairs of shorts and four tops (which I’ll show you in a separate post). I’ve been looking for a pair of high-waisted denim shorts for years now, and now I’ve finally found them. They’re from Monki and I’ve already worn them. I’ve also already worn the second pair which is from H&M (so are the other two pairs btw). The black and white ones are high-waisted as well, and so cute. I thought the brown suede-ish ones were pretty cool, and I’ve been wanting a pair of overalls for a long time, and I fell in love with these light blue denim ones. I can’t wait to get some more wear out of all of these pairs of shorts.

Top coat and concealer

Pop Art + True Match 1

As you know I haven’t been purchasing a lot of make-up the past couple of months, and I’m dying to shop! Last week I did buy these two little products. The nail polish top coat was on sale and I thought it would look cute on top of a lot of different colours. I’m wearing it right now, so I will tell you more about it in my next nail post. I’m soon running out of my favourite concealer, and due to the fact that I can’t get in Denmark, I thought I would try another one. I’ve been wanting to try the L’Oréal True Match concealer for a while, because there’s a shade light enough for my skin. It’s a very liquidy concealer and the coverage is not the best in my opinion, so I won’t be using it to cover up spots, but I do quite like it as an under eye concealer.

Wash & Dry

When MAC came out with this years summer collection I just had to get my hands on one of the lipsticks. The collection is called Wash & Dry, and I bought one of the limited edition lipstick shades. It’s called Steam Heat and is a gorgeous yellow based red with a satin finish, and I absolutely love it! It has become my new favourite red lipstick, and it’s the perfect red for spring and summer.

Cherry cheese cake

My youngest sister gave me this NYX Butter Gloss when she came home from a school trip to Berlin. It’s my first NYX product, and I’ve been wanting to try a Butter Gloss for a long time. It’s in the colour Cherry Cheese Cake, and it’s a very pretty peachy orange shade. I’m wearing it for the first time today, and so far I’m really happy with this product. It has a nice pigmentation, and I think it’s very comfortable on the lips. For a gloss it lasts a very decent amount of time as well. The only thing I don’t like about this gloss is the scent which is too sweet for my taste, but luckily it goes away almost instantly after you’ve applied it to your lips.

Collection 2000 for the eyes

DSC_6262

I found some more really cheap discontinued Collection 2000 products in the beginning of April. I bought another Dazzle Me! pigment, and it’s in the colour Hazydaze 02 (I’m wearing it here). I also bought another Glam Metallics Coloured Liquid Eyeliner, because I love the silver one that I already got. This one is purple and is called Ripped 3. And last but not least I bought two more Precision Colour Kohl Eyeliners and I chose the colours 21 Teal and 29 Purple Passion.

Bright back at you

DSC_6288DSC_6289DSC_6295

So, it’s been three months since my last nail post, and as I mentioned here and here my intention was to do more nail posts, but I haven’t had much time to be very creative with my nails. I’ll do my best though to get ‘back on the nail track’ yet again. Anyhow, this is what my nails looked like about four weeks ago. The blueish green nail polish is rather new; it’s one of Rimmel’s 60 Seconds nail polishes and it’s in the colour 835 Bright Back At You. The silver glitter nail polish is by Filthy Gorgeous and is called rock chick.
