5 favourites – November

November has come to an end, and what a busy month it was. We moved into our new house last weekend, and I always forget how crazy it is to move. We also went to our second trimester scan, and everything was great with baby, so we’re very grateful for that. December has never come around this quickly before, and I don’t feel quite ready for it, which is very unlike me. As you might know, I’m a very Christmassy person. I love the Christmas season, but due to the move, I haven’t been able to fully decorate yet, but I did get to decorate the Christmas tree with my family today, so I’m very excited about that. Anyways, before I dive head first into my favourite month of the year, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from the month of November.

Caged Crocs (colour: Grapeberry): You know I love Crocs of all kinds, and ever since I first saw the Caged version, I knew I had to have a pair. These are probably the chunkiest Crocs I own, but they’re really comfy and really cool, if you ask me.

Essence Soft Touch eyeshadow (shade: 01 The One): I always have a single matte cream coloured eyeshadow in my collection that I use all the time, and Essence makes great cream coloured single eyeshadows.

NABLA Close-Up blurring powder blushes (shades: Endorphin + Lucky Rose): I usually prefer a satin or glowy blush, but this is one of the best matte blush formulas, I’ve tried. The red shade is my favourite, and I’ve already worn it many times (hence the dirty packaging), but the warm pink shade is beautiful too.

PHLUR Heavy Cream body mist: I really enjoy all the body mists I purchased from PHLUR, but my favourite and most used one so far is the Heavy Cream one. It smells like dessert.

The Cinnamon Bun Book Store – Laurie Gilmore (book): I didn’t have much time to read in November due to our move, but I read the second book in the Dream Harbour series, and I enjoyed getting to know more of the characters better.

5 favourites – October

Happy Halloween! Can you believe that it’s the last day of October?! A lot of things have happened in the past month, or actually the past couple of months, one thing being that we bought a house, and we’re getting the keys later on today! I can’t believe that the day is finally here. November will be all about getting the house ready and moving in, so my family will definitely be busy the next month or two. But before getting too busy, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from the month of October.

Denim Nike Cortez sneakers: These blue denim Nike Cortez sneakers has without a doubt been my most worn pair of shoes this past month. They just go with pretty much everything.

Catrice Drunk’n Diamonds eyeshadow sticks: I haven’t hauled these eyeshadow sticks yet, but I wore them here, and I loved them! As I wrote in the make-up post, they’re some of the best eyeshadow sticks I’ve ever tried! I wish Catrice would extend the shade range (they do have one more shade that I’ve also purchased), because I would buy them all.

L’Oréal Panorama volume million lashes mascara (shade: Black): It’s been a while since the last time I tried a new black mascara that I like as much as this one. The wand works for me, it looks great on the lashes, and it doesn’t transfer onto my eyelids.

Beverly Hills 90210 – season 1 (TV series): I know, how have I not watched Beverly Hills 90210 until now? I don’t have an answer to that but I finally decided to start watching the series this month, and I loved the first season. I’ve only watched a few episodes of season 2, so that’s why I’m only featuring season 1 here (for now).

The Pumpkin Spice Café – Laurie Gilmore (book): I have yet another book favourite this month, and this was the last book I finished in October. If you like the small town vibes of Gilmore Girls with a few more steamy interactions, this is for you.

5 favourites – September

September has come to an end, and I have to say that I’m quite excited about heading deeper into autumn. October will forever be a special month for me, because it was the month I became a mother. I’m looking forward to having a week off in the middle of October and to be celebrating my daughter’s birthday. But first, let’s talk about some September favourites.

Maybelline Fit Me Nude BB cream SPF 50 (shade: 10): I hadn’t tried anything from the Maybelline Fit Me line in a long time, but I was very intrigued by this BB cream, and I really enjoy it. It has a natural coverage with a slightly dewy finish, and it wears very well in my opinion.

Fenty Beauty Bright Fix Instant Brightening + Blurring powder (shade: Lavender 01): I hadn’t tried a lavender powder in a while, so I really wanted to give this new Fenty Beauty one a go. I like that it’s not visibly lavender on the skin, but it brightens and blurs the skin, as the name suggests, and so far I’ve been loving this powder.

Catrice Pure Volume Magic Brown mascara (shade: 010 Burgundy Brown): I’m pretty sure I haven’t featured this mascara in a favourites post before, so it’s about time. I really like this formula, and the colour is beautiful and goes with so many eye looks. And it’s super affordable too.

The Little Shop of Hidden Treasures (Den lille genbrugs butik) by Holly Hepburn (book): I have two (+ an honorable mention) book favourites this month. This one is such a charming love story about a widowed woman who moves back to her hometown and gets a job at an antique shop. I enjoyed it so much that I’m actually reading another book by Holly Hepburn at the moment.

The Duke and I (Bridgertons #1) by Julia Quinn (book): I love the Bridgerton series on Netflix, so it was about time that I started reading the books. I’ve now read the first one, and it was great. I look forward to hopefully one day read all of them.

My honorable mention in the book department is a Danish book called I en dråbe by Sissel-Jo Gazan, which is in the crime fiction genre. It’s an honorable mention, because it’s in Danish, but man, it was good.

5 favourites – August

Can you believe that it’s the last day of summer calendar wise? I actually sort of can, because we’ve actually had a very warm and sunny summer in Denmark this year, so the summer has felt longer than usual. It also looks like the warm-ish weather isn’t going to be over just yet. However, I’m slowly starting to look forward to autumn and winter, and especially Christmas of course:) But first, let’s say goodbye to August with some favourites.

Dark blue striped denim jacket w. zipper: I don’t feature clothing pieces in these favourites posts very often, because I tend to wear a lot of different clothes, however, I’ve been wearing this denim jacket as a layer in the slightly cooler mornings so many times this past month.

NYX Lift & Snatch! Brow tint pen (shade: Ash Brown): I bought this brow product a few years ago, but never really got into it. I decluttered it because I thought the shade wasn’t right for me, but I decided to try it again in a different shade. Or so I thought. I’d picked up the same shade, but for some reason, I like it a lot better now. Maybe my old one had changed colour over time.

The 7 Virtues Clemetine Dream Eau de Parfum: 2025 has been the year of fragrance for me. I’ve really gotten into trying out different perfumes and body/hair mists, and it’s been a lot of fun. This perfume from The 7 Virtues is a fresh and fruity scent with notes of clementine, magnolia, and vanilla. A perfect summer scent.

Thunderbolts* (film): I love Marvel, but I haven’t been loving a lot of their latest releases. I’d heard good things about Thunderbolts*, so I watched it a couple of nights ago, and I really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the better Marvel films that has come out in years.

Good Girl Complex (Pæn pige problemet) by Elle Kennedy (book): I have another book favourite this month, and a very different one from my book favourite of last month, but a great read nonetheless. I’m pretty sure that there are two more books in this series, and I would love to read those as well.

5 favourites – July

July, I’m going to miss you so much. Despite being ill for a week, I’ve had a great summer holiday. The weather has been with us in July for the first time in many years, which makes the summer holiday even more enjoyable. I’m going back to work again on Monday, but I wish I had another week off:) However, let’s get into this month’s favourites.

Red and pink platform Teva sandals: I purchased these sandals in a Cyber Monday sale last year, hoping that I would get a lot of use out of them this summer, and I have. Tevas are so comfortable, and I can walk around in them for hours, so they’ve been perfect for going on different trips this summer.

Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Lift & Flex concealer (shade: 2): I’d had this concealer on my wishlist for so long, but it was sold out in the lightest shades for ages. When I finally found it somewhere back in stock, I picked it up immediately. Initially, I wasn’t blown away by it, but it has grown on me lately, and it actually is a beautiful concealer.

Wet n Wild Megalast eyeshadow primer: I learned about this affordable eyeshadow primer through a comment on a beauty Youtube video. Someone wrote that it was a great primer if shimmers tend to crease on your eyelids, which they do on mine, because I have hooded eyelids. Some shimmers still crease on me, but I do think that this primer works quite well with some types of shimmers, and I’ve experienced less creasing when using this primer.

Jurassic World Rebirth (film): I’m always excited about a new Jurassic World film, and I didn’t know anything about Rebirth before watching it, but I really enjoyed it. As I’ve mentioned before, I love dinosaurs, so I could definitely live without the genetically engineered dinosaurs in the Jurassic World series, because they’re just monsters and not real dinosaur species, but I really liked the premise and plot of this film.

Weyward (Kvinderne fra Weyward Cottage) by Emilia Hart (book): I don’t remember the last time I read a book that wasn’t a children’s book (I read a lot of those though) or a non-fiction book I had to read for education purposes, but for some reason, I had an urge to read a novel this summer. I found Weyward by Emilia Hart at one of my local supermarkets (I read it in Danish though, hence the Danish title in parentheses). I thought it sounded interesting, and it was. I read it in a few days in the very beginning of my summer holiday, and I really enjoyed it. I’m reading another book now, and I already have a few more in mind that I would like to read, so I hope that I’ll have time to do so, when life becomes busy again soon.

5 favourites – June

A busy June has come to an end. On Friday my summer holiday begins, and I can’t wait! I don’t remember the last time I needed a long holiday this much. June was a month of ups and downs (probably more downs than ups), so I think some time off will do me good. I have a couple of trips planned for the upcoming month, which I’m very excited about, but I’m also excited about spending time at home with my family. The weather has been lovely lately, and I hope that it’ll continue that way. Besides being excited about my upcoming holiday, I’m also excited about this month’s favourites, so let’s get into those.

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip gel tint (shade: 2): I’d heard good things about this product, so I was very excited to try it out. I love that it grips to the skin just like a gripping primer, so it last very well, and it has a beautiful natural, glowy finish. I wore it to a wedding two weekends ago, and it looked great all day and night.

Glamlite Translucent Bake and Set powder: This is another product that I’d heard good things about, and I agree that it’s such a good powder. It’s been my go-to powder this past month, and it looks great on the undereye area as well as all over the face.

Nabla Freckle Maker: I’ve run out of my beloved KimChi Chic Candy Girl Fake Freckles in Afternoon in The Flower Field, so I wanted to try out a new freckle product and went for the Nabla Freckle Maker. It’s really good and easy to work with.

KAYALI Capri in a Bottle Lemon Sugar I 14 Eau de Parfum: I got the entire set of KAYALI summer scents last summer, and I’ve used them all since, but my favourite is the Lemon Sugar scent. It’s sweet and delicious.

Lilo & Stitch (live action film): I’m a huge Disney fan, and Lilo & Stitch (2002) is very special to me and my sisters, so I invited them to watch the 2025 live action version with me in the beginning of June, and we all loved it. We were worried that it might ruin the original film for us, but it didn’t. It was such an enjoyable film, and the live action Stitch might be even cuter than the cartoon version.

5 favourites – May

The last spring month has come to an end, and the first month of summer begins tomorrow. I’m still waiting for the warmer summer weather to arrive and stay though. May was a busy month with both ups and downs, but that’s life isn’t it? June is usually quite busy, when you are a teacher due to exams, but I’m also going to wedding and a graduation party towards the end of the month, so I’ll have that to look forward to. But first, let’s talk about some of my favourite things from the month of May.

Crocs (in all shapes and forms): I’ve featured individual pairs of Crocs in these favourites posts before, but I had to feature Crocs in generel this month, because they’re been my most worn footwear. It’s a bit of an obsession at this point, but I just love how fun, customisable, and comfortable Crocs are.

MAC Studio Fix Pro Set + Blur Weightless loose powder (shade: Translucent): I’ve had this powder for about 1,5 years, and I’ve used it here and there, but I got really into using it this past month. It’s a very fine, blurring powder, but I don’t think it makes the skin look too matte, which is nice, when you like me prefer a more natural or slightly glowy finish. The powder is a part of MAC’s permanent line, I just happen to have it in limited edition packaging.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo liquid bronzer & contour (shade: Fair/Light): e.l.f. Cosmetics is one of my favourite drugstore brands, and I really like most of their products this liquid bronzer included. It’s pretty pigmented, but it blends out very nicely, and I like this particular shade a lot.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara (shade: Plum Twilight): A couple of months ago, I featured the Burgundy Haze shade of this mascara, which is still a huge favourite of mine, but this past month this dark purple shade has probably been my most worn mascara. It just goes so well with the eyeshadow colours I like to wear the most.

Beautyblender Blendercleanser Liquid Lavender: I had run out of my Real Techniques brush cleanser, so I decided to pick up and try this one from Beautyblender, and I really liked it. I was long overdue with cleaning my make-up brushes, so when I used this cleanser when I finally cleaned them the other day, I was quite impressed by the result.

5 favourites – April

As I wrote in my 5 favourites post from last month, I’m so ready for warmer weather, and we’ve had a handful of nice, sunny days, but not nearly as many as I was hoping for. I had a very nice Easter break, but I must admit, it’s been tough going back to work after the break. Hopefully, it’ll get easier again soon. Anyways, I’m really excited about this month’s favourites so let’s talk about them.

Patchwork coat (Stella Nova): I fell in love with this coat the first time I saw it, but it was quite expensive, so I didn’t buy it. However, I kept an eye out for it, and in March I found it on sale heavily discounted, so I went for it. I love it, and I’ve worn it so much.

Colourpop Pretty Fresh tinted foundation balm (shade: Fair 1): I’d heard such good things about this stick foundation, and it really is great. I’ve had a lot of early mornings this past month, and this has been my go-to most worn foundation; it’s just so quick and easy to apply, and it looks so good.

NYX Buttermelt highlighters: I love the NYX Buttermelt bronzer and blushes, so I was so excited to try the highlighters from the Buttermelt line, and they did not disappoint. I got the three most colourful shades, and they’re all so pretty.

MAC Glow Play Tendertalk lip balm (shade: Vibe): It’s not often that I include a lip product in a 5 favourites post, because I’ve got so many lip products and wear different ones all the time, but I’ve worn this MAC Glow Play Tendertalk lip balm in the shade Vibe so many times this past month, so I had to give it a shout out. I love the formula in general, but this particular colour is so lovely on the lips.

Sol de Janeiro Danca Mistica perfume mist: I was so excited to try this limited edition summer scent from Sol de Janeiro, because it has notes of fig, sandalwood, and vanilla. I think it might be my new favourite Sol de Janeiro scent.

5 favourites – March

March has come to an end, and in Denmark we’ll be starting of April with a couple of beautiful sunny spring days. I’m so ready for warmer weather, so I’m hoping to see more of it throughout the month. All of my March favourites that I’ll be sharing with you today are beauty-related. I tried out two great foundations, fell more in love with a blush formula and a mascara shade, and wore a beautiful nail colour.

Maybelline Superstay Lumi Matte foundation (shade: 96): I’d been wanting to try this foundation ever since it launched, and I’m so glad I finally decided to buy it, because it’s so nice. I’m not into matte foundations, but a lumi matte foundation, I can get behind. It’s a buildable foundation, which I like, and it just looks great on the skin.

Essence foundation stick in (shade: 50): I love to wear a stick foundation on days where I have to get up early to go to work early, and I’ve been really enjoying this one from Essence. It’s quick and easy to apply, and it looks good.

Huda Beauty Liquid Blush Filters (various shades): These might be my favourite liquid blushes in my collection. This formula is so good! I have a bunch of shades, and I’ll probably continue to add more.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara (shade: Burgundy Haze): This is one of my absolute favourite mascara formulas, and I love that it comes in so many shades now. The shade Burgundy Haze has been my favourite though, because it goes with so many different eye looks.

Catrice Gel Affair nail lacquer (shade: 033 You’re The Lime To My Tequila): I’ve noticed that I’ve been loving lime green more and more, and this nail colour is so stunning. It’s pretty much the perfect spring nail colour.

5 favourites – February

The last month of winter has come to an end, and I’m so ready for spring! The weather forecast includes slightly warmer weather next week, which I’m very excited about. Spring is the time for a fresh starts, and I think that is just what I need. But first, let’s say goodbye to winter and talk about some favourites from February (it’s mostly make-up as per usual).

Colourpop Pretty Fresh Set It Up primer: This primer from Colourpop is fairly new, and it’s a great allround primer. It’s described as a gel cream which is a texture I really like, when it comes to primers, and so far it has worked under every foundation I’ve worn with it.

GlossGods Cosmetics That Base! Crease killer eyeshadow base: From a face primer to an eyeshadow primer. I’ve had this eyeshadow primer/base for about 1,5 years, and I’ve liked it, but I’ve worn it more frequently recently. It’s great underneath pastels and bright eyeshadows.

KVD Beauty Dazzle Stick long-wear eyeshadows: I’ve actually loved these shadow sticks ever since they launched, and as you can see I’ve collected them all. I’ve been using them a handful of times this past month on days where I had to leave early for work, because they’re quick and easy to apply with a finger, and they’re super pretty and sparkly and long-wearing, as the name suggests.

Lethal Cosmetics Aura multichrome liners: I’ve tried a few different formulas of multichrome eyeliners, but these ones from Lethal Cosmetics are my favourites so far. The colours are beautiful, and they show up quite well in the waterline, which not all multichrome liners do.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (film): I love Bridget Jones! Bridget Jones’s Diary (the first film) is one of those films that I can always watch. I actually feel that way about all the films in this series, and even though this last film is not my most favourite from the series, I enjoyed it very much.
