Subtle but pretty

DSC_8300

Here’s the make-up I wore Monday December 28. It was the first time I wore my new MAC eye shadows, and as you can see they’re very subtle but pretty. I think they look great paired with the muted orange lip.

(Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – MUA Ever After matte eye shadow palette (shade: Fade) + MAC eye shadows (shades: All That Glitters + Mythology) + the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer on browbone,  mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Lips: Rimmel Universal Transparent Lipliner in 001 Universal + Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 109)

Glam metallics

Collection 2000 liqiud eyeliners 2

I recently found some more of these discontinued Collection 2000 Glam Metallics liquid eyeliners and they were so cheap, so I bought the colours I didn’t already have. The blue one is called Groupie and it’s the one I’m most excited about. It’s a turquoise with a green-ish iridescence to it. The green is called Grunge and the gold is called Fierce, and I’m looking forward to trying them all out.

Not very Christmassy

Here’s what wore at a family Christmas get-together Sunday December 20. I didn’t want to look too dressed up, so I decided to go with black trousers, a shirt, and a sweater. As you can see in pictures, the weather wasn’t very Christmassy. We didn’t get snow until now.

Comparison: drugstore clear brow gels

I don’t go anywhere without setting my eyebrows with some clear brow gel (we can’t have those brow hairs flying around). I’ve been using the e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara for years and I love it, but when I had almost run out of the one I was using, I thought why not try another clear brow gel. I picked up the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting brow mascara in Transparent and wore the two brow gels at the same time; one on each eyebrow.

Both brow gels kept my eyebrows in place all day, but I did fell like I had to check up on the Maybelline one every now and again. I find the e.l.f one more stiff than the Maybelline one which I prefer. The wand on the Maybelline one is a bit strange as well (it’s like a ball), so overall I prefer the e.l.f. one. The Maybelline one is not bad; I just think the e.l.f. one is better (and it’s cheaper too).

Blue brown duochrome

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing a gorgeous duochrome eye shadow from my Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette, but you can’t see the shift of colours that well in these pictures. In real life though it looks stunning. It’s definitely a dupe for MAC’s Blue Brown pigment, and it’s my favourite eye shadow in the palette.

A bit oversize

Here’s what I wore Monday December 14. I like how this look is a bit oversize, and I also really like the grey, the blue denim, and the silver together.

Make-up Christmas presents

DSC_8281

I wrote in my New Year’s Eve make-up post that I would tell you more about my make-up Christmas presents and here they are. I got three MAC products; two eye shadows and a lipstick.

The eye shadows I got are Mythology (on the left) and All That Glitters (on the right). Mythology has a lustre finish and the colour is simply described as a copper and it’s a gorgeous shade. All That Glitters has a veluxe pearl finish and is described as a beige with gold pearl. It’s one of the those shades that goes with anything. So pretty.

You’ve already seen the lipstick in action, but here it is before I wore it. It’s called Matte Royal and it has a matte finish (obviously). It came out with the Matte Lip Collection, and I’m actually not sure if the collection is permanent or not, but I’m so happy I got this amazing blue lipstick for Christmas.

Straight to the greens

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It was the first time I tried out my Wet n Wild eye shadow palette. I went straight to the green shades, and I love how the look turned out. On my lips I’m wearing my NYX High Voltage lipstick that I bought at the same time as the Wet n Wild eye shadow palette, and I really like it. The colour is right up my alley.

Black slacks and new header

DSC_8133DSC_8136DSC_8137

Here’s what I wore Friday December 4. These black slacks are some of my favourite trousers. I love that they can be styled in so many different ways. For casual everyday wear I love styling them as I did here; with a sweatshirt and sneakers. And of course a with an extra pop of colour on the lips. Btw, you might have noticed that I’ve changed my blog header. Well, I thought to myself; new year, new header:)
