First impressions: MAC Prep + Prime Fix +

DSC_9499

About a month ago I did a first impressions post on the L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion foundation and I thought I would make another one. This is not a new product, but it’s new to me. I’ve been wanting to try out MAC Prep + Prime Fix + (also known as just Fix +) for a really long time. I purchased it a little while ago, but I wrote down my initial thoughts. It’s a finishing spray and not a setting spray, so you shouldn’t expect it to make your make-up last longer. It does finishes off your make-up very nicely and makes your make-up look less powdery or cakey. It brings some moisture back to your skin and it feels and smells really good as well. So as a finishing spray it works very well. It’s also an amazing product if you want to intensify your shimmery eye shadows. Just spray a bit of the product onto your eye shadow brush, dip it in the eye shadow and apply it to you eyelids. I’ve been especially loving to use it to intensify my inner corner highlight. All in all, I love this product, and I think it’s a common opinion among beauty lovers.

Even more NYX lippies

After trying the NYX soft matte lip creams and the NYX Liquid Suedes, I knew that I wanted more colours because both liquid lipstick lines are really good. I recently bought three more soft matte lip creams and two more Liquid Suedes.

The soft matte lip cream shades I picked up are Stockholm (nude), Prague (deep magenta), and Copenhagen (deep red plum). The only shade I haven’t worn yet is Copenhagen, but I’m sure I’m going to love it just as much as I love Stockholm and Prague (and the other shades I own).

The two shades of the Liquid Suedes I picked up are Soft-Spoken (rosy-brown nude) and Vintage (brown plum). These shades are quite unique in my collection, and they are so beautiful. If you have any recommendations for other shades of both lip products, I would love to know.

Walk on the wild side

A couple of weeks ago I found this NARS Andy Warhol Walk On The Wild Side set at a local drugstore and I had to get it. I did a little research and apparently it was a part of the NARS x Andy Warhol Holiday Collection from 2012. It contains an illuminator in Silver Factory, a Larger Than Life lipgloss in Orgasm and nail polish in It. The liquid illuminator is actually silver, but it’s not too silver in my opinion and I quite like it. I’ve worn the lipgloss once on top of a nude lipstick, and it looked really pretty. I haven’t worn the nail polish yet, because my nails are crap at the moment, but I’ll post a picture when I once try it on.

Warm/cold

Blå jumpsuit - H&MGråmeleret sweater - H&M

Within the last few weeks I’ve bought these two pieces of clothing from H&M, and they represent the Danish spring/summer weather very well. Some days are really warm, others are quite cold. I wore the sweater a couple of days ago, but I haven’t had an opportunity to wear the playsuit yet. Hopefully I will soon.

MAC Vibe Tribe

I finally got my hands on a couple of products from the MAC Vibe Tribe collection which is this years main summer collection. As you can see the packaging is super pretty, and so are the actual products.

Of course I had to get one of the lipsticks. I chose the brightest one (no surprise there) and it’s this beautiful orange-red shade called Painted Sunset. It’s an amplified finish, so it’s really creamy and pigmented. I wore it yesterday and it’s the perfect red lip for summer.

I also couldn’t resist the Gleamtones powder which is a new type of powder from MAC. It’s called Dunes At Dusk and it’s a gorgeous highlighter. I guess you could also use the four shades individually as eye shadows, but I’ve been wearing all four colours swirled together as a highlighter and I’m so happy that it’s light enough for my pale skin. You could obviously also wear the different shades individually as highlighters or mix two or three of them together. So many options. I love it!

First impressions: L’Oréal Cushion foundation

DSC_9386

I’ve been seeing cushion foundations everywhere online lately, so when I found the L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion dewy glow foundation at the drugstore, I decided to give it a go. I’m going to give my first impressions of this product, and I don’t know if this will turn into a new series on my blog, but it might:)

I’ve been wearing the foundation for the first time today, so these really are my first impressions. First off, I love the packaging. It’s so cute, but also quite handy to travel with, I reckon. The compact contains a little flat sponge, but I used my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge to apply the foundation. I don’t think I’ve ever applied my foundation as easy and quick as I did this morning which is a big plus. As the name suggests the foundation is indeed very dewy and glowy (in the picture beneath I’m only wearing a none-illuminating primer and the foundation). I’m wearing shade 1 Porcelain which is the lightest shade, and I think it matches my pale skin well. Right now as I’m writing I’ve been wearing the foundation for about 10,5 hours. I’m obviously wearing other products (powders) on top, but as far as I can tell, the foundation still looks fairly good, so I’m happy with this product so far. As I’ve already mentioned these are only my first impressions, but I’m looking forward to wear this foundation a few more times to see if those impressions stick.

MAC Brooke Candy

DSC_9267DSC_9271DSC_9277

There are so many awesome MAC collections launching this spring/summer, and here’s what I purchased from the Brooke Candy collection. I don’t really know anything about Brooke Candy, but that doesn’t matter to me as long as the products are nice. First of all the packaging is stunning. That mirrored silver with black and grey paint splatters is gorgeous. Obviously I went for lip products and as you can see I purchased two lipsticks and a lip pencil; all three in limited edition shades. Both lipsticks are matte. The Barbie pink lipstick is called Doo-Wop. I’m wearing it today, and it’s such a fun, bright pop of pink on the lips; perfect for spring and summer. The dark purple lipstick is called Witching Hour. It looked like such a cool colour, and I’m drawn to everything purple so I had to have it. I also got the dark purple lip pencil to go with it, and it’s called Night Crawler. I can’t wait to wear those two products together. They probably won’t be considered that spring/summer appropriate, but I’ll most likely wear them soon anyways.

More NYX lippies

A little while after I recieved these NYX products, a bought a few more lip products in store. The NYX Matte lipsticks are some of the best matte lipsticks I’ve tried. They’re really pigmented and creamy and they’re really comfortable on the lips: not drying at all. I picked up the shades Euro Trash which is a brown nude and Aria which is a purple berry shade. I also picked up the only Slide On, Glide On, Stay On & Definitely A Turn On Waterproof, Extreme Color lip liner (yes, the name is that long) there was left in store and it’s in the shade Dark Soul. It thought it would be a good match for this NYX soft matte lip cream.

Urban Decay Naked 2

DSC_8771DSC_8763DSC_8770

I finally purchased the Urban Decay Naked 2 eye shadow palette which I’d been craving for years. It’s my first Urban Decay palette, and I’m not disappointed. The quality is great and the colours are beautiful. If you’re not familiar with the Naked palettes the one just called Naked (the original one) has warm-toned neutrals, this one (Naked 2) has cool-toned neutrals, and Naked 3 has rosy neutrals. There is also a Naked Smoky palette which is full off darker, smoky shades. The only one of the palettes I’m not that keen on is the original Naked palette, but I would love to own the Naked 3 and Naked Smoky palettes.
