Embellishment

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. On my lips I’m wearing the NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment which I forgot to include in my recent collective drugstore haul. It’s a beautiful grey nude with purple undertones.

Dark on dark

Here’s the make-up I wore Sunday August 14. I didn’t really have any plans that day, I just wanted to play around with make-up. It’s not that often that I wear dark colours on both eyes and lips, but I think it turned out really nice in this case.

Collective drugstore haul

DSC_0205

I’ve been purchasing a few drugstore products recently, and I thought I would do a collective haul.

DSC_0213

My favourite purchase is the NYX Strobe Of Genius illuminating palette which I featured in my 5 favourites from August. I highly recommend this palette! The shades are so gorgeous and I love having so many highlight options in one place; it’s so travel friendly. My favourite shade so far has been the second shade in the top row which is a beautiful light pinky shade.

I purchased two more NYX products at the same time as the Strobe Of Genius palette; the HD Studio Photogenic finishing powder and the Slide On, Glide On, Stay On… (the name is so long) lip liner in Red Tape. The powder is a loose powder and has a very mattifying effect, but it doesn’t make your skin look dry. And you might know that my go-to lip colour is red, so I’m always on the hunt for red lip liners.

I had heard good things about the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin powder foundation, so when I saw it was on sale, I had to try it out. I’ve only used it a couple of times, but so far I like it. I got mine in the shade 005 Light Beige.

Lastly, I did some repurchases as well. The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR foundations (both the full coverage one with the red lid and this medium coverage one with the white lid) are some of my favourite foundations and I always have at least one in my collection. I also repurchased the e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator which is a much needed product when you are a matte lipstick lover.

Colour on eyes

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Because I was wearing a black and white outfit, I decided to wear some colour on my eyes and I think this cranberry look is so pretty.

5 favourites – August

I just realised in this moment that by tomorrow summer will be officially over. It’s a bit sad, but on the other hand I might be okay for me to start looking forward to Christmas then. August has been quite an eventful month for me, but I did have time to enjoy the last bits of my summer holiday. Uni started again this week, and even though I’ve enjoyed having some time off, it’s nice to be back. Anyways, here are my last favourites from this summer.

Lyseblå herre bomber jakke - second hand

Light blue bomber jacket: This second hand bomber has been my favourite piece of clothing this past month. I’m wearing it today, I wore it yesterday, I think I’ve worn it every week since I bought it. It’s just such an effortless piece and I’ve styled it in so many different ways.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel: I got this sample with my last Beautybay order and it’s probably the best brow gel I’ve tried. When you set your eyebrows with this, they stay in place all day.

DSC_0211

NYX Strobe Of Genius illuminating palette: I haven’t gotten around to haul this palette yet (I will soon though), but I had to include it in my August favourites. These highlight shades are so beautiful and pigmented, and there’s a shade for every kind of make-up look.

Drake – Controlla (Old School R&B Medley) by Conor Maynard: I remember listening to some of Conor Maynard’s covers on Youtube many years ago, and about a month or so ago I rediscovered him. This cover/medley of songs is amazing. I don’t remember the last time I listened to a song on repeat like I did with this song in the beginning of August, and I’ve kept listening to it throughout the month. It’s so catchy!

Phillips Bluetooth højtaler 2

Philips wireless portable speaker: My youngest sister’s got one of these speakers, and I thought it was very handy, so I put it on my birthday wish list and was lucky enough to get it. I just connect it to my iPad via bluetooth, and the sound is really good. This past month I’ve been listening to even more music than I usually do because of this little guy.

Something different

DSC_9911DSC_9919

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. For some reason I most often wear a red lip at family events, but this time I decided to wear something different.

(Base: primer – L’Oréal Lumi Magique Pure Light primer, foundation – L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion dewy glow foundation (shade: 01 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15), powders – NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (shades: Soft Light + Cream) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (shade: Sculpt) + The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing powder (shade: 02 fair matte), blusher – MAC Mineralize blush in Modest Blush, highlighter – the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. Eye make-up: base – Urban Decay  Eyeshadow Primer Potion Long-Lasting Eyeshadow Base in Eden (sample),  eye shadows – Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette (shades: Foxy + Tease + Suspect + Busted) + Stila In the Light eye shadow palette (shade: Kitten) + the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer on browbone, mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Eyebrows: Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting brow mascara in Transparent. Lips: Rimmel Universal Transparent Lipliner in 001 Universal + NYX soft matte lip cream in Prague)

First impressions: Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray

DSC_0138DSC_0141

After only hearing and reading good things about the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, I finally purchased it. My first impressions of this product are that it feels really nice on the skin, smells nice and dries quickly. It claims to make your make-up last up to 16 hours, and I believe that to be true. The first time I wore it I had my make-up on for 12 hours. It was a warm day and I’d been biking (and therefore sweating) and my make-up still looked good at the end of the day. To sum up I’m for sure a fan of this product and would definitely recommend it.

Great colour combo

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love how this eye make-up turned out. I think the dark reddish-brown on the eyelids looks great with the pop of blue on the lower lashes.

A pop of bright blue

DSC_9874DSC_9877

Here’s the make-up I wore Friday June 24. A very simple look with a pop of bright blue on the eyes.

MAC 15 eye shadow palette

DSC_0098DSC_0107DSC_0092

For my birthday earlier this month I got my fifth MAC eye shadow, so I went out and bought an empty 15 pan MAC eye shadow palette, and I’m excited to add more eye shadows to this palette over time. The eye shadow I got for my birthday was Nylon which is described as a pale gold with icy shimmer and it has a frost finish. It’s the perfect inner corner and browbone highlight and I’m sure I’m going to use it a lot.
