Collective MAC haul

I recently purchased a few products from MAC, and I thought I would share them with you.

First of all, I’ve bought two limited edition lipsticks. The one in the red packaging is from the Lunar New Year collection, and it’s in the classic shade Ruby Woo (retro matte finish) which I for some reason didn’t own until now. The other lipstick is from MAC’s most recent collection called Boom Boom Bloom, and it’s a limited edition shade called Framboise Moi (matte finish). I also purchased a single eyeshadow in the shade Lime, because I’m obsessed with all shades of green eyeshadow at the moment, and I missed a matte lime green in my eyeshadow collection.

I also got the limited edition cherry blossom Fix+ from the Boom Boom Bloom collection, because just look at it! And then I decided to buy a full size of the Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating base in the shade Radiant Yellow. I have a sample size of this primer and I love it. It gives your skin such a beautiful natural glow.

Shimmery pink

First impressions: Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation

DSC_6865

It’s time for another first impressions post. I’ve tried out the Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation, and here are my initial thoughts.

Lige efter applikation kl. 7.30

This first picture was taking right after I’d applied the foundation. I applied my go-to primer (Wet n Wild Coverall primer) to my skin first, because I wouldn’t wear foundation without priming my skin first. I’m wearing the shade Soft Ivory, which is a good shade match for me. The applicator of the foundation is a bit strange; it’s a flat plastic wand, but it works. I blended the foundation out with a make-up sponge as I always do, and the foundation has good coverage, but it wasn’t as full coverage as I thought it would be. I still liked the overall look and finish (matte) of the foundation. The product seemed to oxidised a tiny bit, but nothing too bad.

Efter 11 timer

I wore the foundation for 11 hours, and the picture above was taking right before I removed my make-up. Even after 11 hours the foundation still looked really good. I hadn’t powdered my face, and pretty much only my nose area had gotten a bit shiny. Apart from the fact that the applicator is a bit strange, the only thing about this product I really dislike is its very strong paint like scent, but luckily is goes away quite quickly. I removed the foundation with micellar cleasing water, and it came off very easily. I’m not sure if this Wet n Wild foundation will beat my favourite foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless, but I’ll definitely wear it again.

Green and brown

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m obsessed with this make-up look. How incredible is that green eyeshadow! And the brown lipstick with a green shift – love it!

Complementary colours

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This make-up look was (obviously) inspired by all the beautiful bright colours on my sweatshirt. I’ve never worn yellow and purple eyeshadow together before, but they’re complementary colours which is probably why they look really good together.

More pink and blue

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I decided to stick with blue and pink for my make-up as well and went with a pale shimmery blue for the eyes and a hot pink lip.

Comparison: Pore minimising face primers

I sort of recently bought the Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer in order to compare it to the Benefit Porefessional primer, and here are my thoughts.

Maybelline Face Studio Primer

The two products have a very similar texture and feel to them and a similar nude colour too, which turns sheer when you apply the products to your skin. The Benefit primer sinks into the skin a bit faster than the Maybelline primer, but they look very similar on the skin. The day I compared the two primers I wore each primer on one half of my face. I wore my make-up for about 9 hours, and I didn’t see any noticable differences between the left and right side of my face. My make-up looked equally good on both sides of my face, and in conclusion I would say that the Maybelline Face Studio Prime Pore Minimizing Primer is a great affordable alternative to Benefit Porefessional.

Lack of pigmentation

DSC_7037DSC_7039

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I gave The Douce palette by Juvia’s Place another try, and once again I was disappointed by the lack of pigmentation in the shadows. The pigmentation of my other Juvia’s Place palettes is incredible, so I don’t know if I just got a bad product.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 05), powders – e.l.f. Collective drugstore haul: Essence, Wet n Wild, Revolution and more

DSC_7089DSC_7088

I’ve been buying a few drugstore products here and there lately, so I thought I would do a collective drugstore haul. I’ve heard such good things about the Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation and the Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage concealer, so I thought I would try those out. I’ll been doing first impressions posts on both products. I bought the Maybelline Face Studio Pore Minimizing primer hoping it would be a dupe for the Benefit Porefessional primer. I did a comparison of the two, which I’ll do a post on very soon. As you might have noticed, I don’t ususally fill in my brows, but I thought I would give the e.l.f. Brow Pencil a try. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m going to fill in my brows on a daily basis, I just wanted to try it out. Lastly, I’ve purchased three products from Essence. I really like a lot of Essence products, so I’m excited to try these out. I bought the Essence Matt Touch blush (shade: 10 Peach Me Up!), the Essence Camoflage+ Matt concealer (shade: 10 Light Rose), and then I was very intrigued by three new eyeshadow palettes. I loved the colour scheme of all three of them, but I decided to try out one first, and if I like it, I might get the other ones. The palette I chose is called G’Day Sydney, and it’s a neutral palette with some pops of green. I’ve tested out an Essence eyeshadow palette before, which I wasn’t impressed by (check out my first impressions here), but the shades in this palette swatched beautifully, so I’m excited to see if they’re any better.

Bright one colour eye look

DSC_7025DSC_7023

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love the bright teal eye make-up! I really want to do more bright one colour eye looks, because they’re easy and fairly quick to do, and they’re so much fun.
