Happy Halloween and happy 1st of November. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned before that Halloween is not that big of a deal in Denmark, but for once I actually went to an Halloween/horror themed party last night, and this was my zombie-ish make-up look. I had a great time, and you all had a great night as well.

5 favourites – October
October has come to an end and it was quite a crazy month for me, but in a good way. I went to Munich for a choir competition which was amazing, had two exam, and then I just started my new courses at uni yesterday. I’m looking forward to November, but really I just can’t wait for it to become December:) Anyways, here’s some things I loved in October.
Max Factor Facefinity All Day primer: I did a comparison of this primer to the Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro primer, and I had a hard time picking a favourite between the two, but I’ve been using this one the most this month, and I think it’s a great primer.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese: I bought this product to use as an inner corner highlighter and I love it! It’s so easy to use and really brightening.
Silver earrings with black stones: I rediscovered another pair of earrings this month. I bought these in Berlin in 2008, and I wore them all the time when I just bought them, but then one of the locks came loose, and I didn’t wanted to risk losing the earring. Finally I decided to just change the lock, and I’ve worn them a ton this month.
Pickwick Spicy Chai tea: I love tea and I love a lot of different flavours, and in the beginning of the month I decided to try this Spicy Chai one. It has ginger in it which is great if you have a cold and I have a cold pretty much all the time. It also has cinnamon and black pepper in it and I really like it.
Let the Peoples Sing (choir competition): One of my absolute favourite things of the month was the choir competition I went to in Munich (and my Munich trip in general). It was just an amazing experience. You can read a bit more about it here.
Comparison: drugstore face primers
Apparently four months have to pass before I get around to making another comparison post. This post is going to be a comparison of two drugstore face primers: Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro primer vs. Max Factor Facefinity All Day primer. Because these are face primers that turn sheer when you apply them, it would be difficult to see any difference in pictures, so I didn’t take any pictures of me wearing them. I did wear one on one side of my face and the other on the other side to really be able to compare them to each other.
I’ve been using the Rimmel primer for about a year and half and I really like it, but I had also heard good things about the Max Factor primer, so I had to try it out. The two primers looked pretty similar on the skin and it was easy to apply my foundation on top. I wore my make-up for many hours the day I compared the two primers, and my foundation looked quite good at the end of the day; on both sides of my face. I actually have a hard time picking a favourite between the two. They’re both affordable, feel good on the skin, and extend the wear of foundation. The Max Factor one has SPF 20 in it which is always nice, especially in the summer time, and it has a bit more liquidy texture compared to the Rimmel one, but other than that I find them quite similar. They both prolong the wear of foundation which is a primers main job, and I would recommend both of them.
Let the Peoples Sing
You might have noticed that I haven’t blogged as regularly lately as I normally do. That’s due to the fact that I’ve been really busy with uni, but also with choir rehearsing and concerts. I sing in Aarhus Pigekor (Aarhus Girl’s Choir) and last Friday, very early in the morning, we went to Münich to participate in a big international choir competition Sunday evening called Let the Peoples Sing, and we won! It was such an amazing experience and it still feels a bit unreal to me. Anyways, that’s why I haven’t blogged as much lately, but hopefully I’ll get back on the blogging track soon. The video is the final part of our performance from the competition, if anyone should be interested in watching it:)
5 favourites – September
September will be gone by tomorrow, and I can’t believe that the first month of autumn is already gone. I’ve been busy with uni the past month and it’ll continue in October; I have exams in a couple of weeks. I’m also going on an exciting trip in about a week and a half, but more about that later. And now let’s talk about some of my favourite things from September.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (light to medium): I wrote here that I loved the three shades I’d tried at that point, and since then I’ve tried the other shades as well, and they’re just as good. This contour kit is really nice, and I’ve used it every day since I received it.
MAC eye shadow in Satin Taupe: I’d been craving this eye shadow for over a year I think, when I got it for my birthday in August, and I’ve worn it countless times since. It’s so beautiful, and I love how it can be worn both in a very subtle way and in a more intense way.
Silver earrings with hearts: I love rediscovering clothes, or make-up, or in this case jewellery. I got these earrings for my 12th birthday, right after I got my ears pierced, but I’ve never worn them much until this month. I’ve probably worn them 3-4 times a week the past month, and I love how simple and cute they are.
Inside Out (film): As I’ve mentioned before, I absolutely love Disney films, and I’d heard so many good things about this new Pixar one. I went to see it with a friend of mine in the beginning of September, and it was so good! One of the best Pixar films in my opinion.
Black Magic – Little Mix: I’ve never listened to any other Little Mix songs, and I don’t really listen to new pop music in general, but this song is just so damn catchy. Maybe it’s because it has kind of an 80’s vibe to it?:)
Favourite fashion blogger
I rarely make ‘inspiration’ posts anymore, mainly because that’s what my tumblr is for, but I thought I would start posting people or things that I find beautiful and inspiring on the blog again sometimes. I’ve made a post about the gorgeous Swedish blogger Angelica Blick before, but she’s still my favourite fashion blogger, so I thought I would share some of her newer outfits with you. She always looks great, and I love how her style is very versatile.
5 favourites – August
The last official summer month will be over by tomorrow which I find really sad, but then again, I had a great month, and I’m already slowly starting to look forward to Christmas (I know, crazy). In August I had my last three weeks of summer holiday (uni started again last week) which I spent with friends and family and I had some great times. I had a lot of favourites this month and it was quite difficult to narrow it down to 5, but these are the ones that made the cut:)
Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent: I’m pretty sure I’ve only heard good things about this powder, and I have to agree; it’s a great powder. It leaves you skin matte for such a long time + it’s very affordable. I’m a fan!
Stila In the Light eye shadow palette: I’ve had this palette over a year, and I’ve been loving it since day one, but this month in particular I’ve been wearing it non stop. My two most worn shades have been Bliss and Kitten. You can get a closer look at the palette here.
e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator: When you wear lipstick on a daily basis, you sometimes have to take extra care of your lips and it doesn’t have to be expensive. This lip exfoliator is so affordable and it helps removing dry chapped skin from your lips and keeping them nice and soft.
Pitch Perfect 2 (film): On my birthday I invited my sisters to go watch Pitch Perfect 2 with me at the cinema. I love the first one, so I was very excited about the second one, and I was not disappointed. I love music, and I’m in a choir myself, so these films definitely appeals to me, and I’m surely going to watch this again some time.
The Sims 4 + The Sims 4 Get to Work (computer game): The Sims 4 is without a doubt my favourite favourite this month. I got the base game and the Get to Work expansion pack for my birthday and I’ve played it a ton since. I’ve been playing The Sims more than 10 years now (both the original one and The Sims 2; I don’t own The Sims 3 though), and I don’t think I’ll ever get to old to play these games:)
Golden, brown, and berry
Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I decided to go with a brown/golden eye look to match the shoes and accessories, and then my cousin thought it would look nice with a berry lip, and she was right. Btw, I’ll start listing all the make-up I’m wearing (not just eye- and lip products) every now and again. I might be helpful to some of you, and I’m sure it’ll be helpful to myself:)
(Base: primer – L’Oréal Lumi Magique Pure Light primer, foundation – Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR Nude foundation (shade: 100 Ivory), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear concealer (shade: Fair 1), powders – Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks contour kit (highlight shade) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent). Face make-up: contour/bronzer – Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks contour kit (contour shade) + The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing powder (shade: 02 fair matte), blusher – Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour blush (shade: 020 Pink Rose), highlighter – MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade. Lips: Universal Transparent Lipliner in 001 Universal + Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 30)
Three randoms
These are the last three items I bought in July (the month where I probably shopped a bit too much). I obviously couldn’t resist the Jurassic World top. It’s from H&M, and I love the simple print and colours. I also found a pair of sunglasses on sale at H&M that day, and I really like the black with the silver detail. The last item I bought that day was the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I’d heard good things about it, and it does look really good on my lashes, but it transfers onto my eyelids and I find it a bit difficult to remove as well. It’s definitely not a bad mascara, but it doesn’t compare to the Maybelline The Falsies mascara (my favourite) in my opinion.
5 favourites – July
Another month has come to an end, and the last official summer month will start tomorrow. I really wish the summer weather would make an appearance soon. We’ve only had about 4-5 days of real summer in Denmark in the beginning of the month, but despite the not-so-summery weather, July was still a great month. I had a friend visiting me for 16 days and we had a great time. I’ve also spent a lot of time with my family and all in all my holiday has been great so far. Here’s a few favourites from the month of July.
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Bare Study: Last year in my July favourites post I also featured a paint pot, and this time it’s the Bare Study one. I’ve used it almost every day since I bought it; either as a base or on it’s own.
MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NC20: Another MAC product I’ve been loving this month. I use it to cover up spots and redness, and I think it’s a great concealer for that purpose.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Strawberry Kissed: I did a bit of shopping at Sephora when I went to Copenhagen with my friend earlier this month, but I haven’t had the opportunity to make a Sephora haul post yet. One of the products I bought was this liquid lipstick, and it’s so good. It dries completely matte and it’s really pigmented and long lasting + the colour is gorgeous.
Cooking Academy Restaurant Royale (iPad game): I love cooking games (though I don’t like to cook in real life), and I’ve played this one on/off for almost a year, but because of the summer holiday I’ve actually had time to play games on my iPad, and this is the game I’ve been playing the most.
Magic Mike XXL (film): I was very disappointed in the first Magic Mike film (like many others), but my friend and I decided to give the second one a go anyways, and this time I wasn’t disappointed. The first film was very serious and a bit boring to be frank, but XXL was the male stripper comedy most people (especially women I guess) had wished for the first film to be. It was obviously not the most fantastic film I’ve ever watched, but it was very entertaining, and I wouldn’t mind watching it again;)
