Collective drugstore haul: Essence, Maybelline, e.l.f. and more

DSC_7261

It’s time for another collective drugstore haul. I recently did a ‘first impressions’ post on the Essence G’Day Sydney eyeshadow palette, and I liked it so much that I bought the other two palettes in the series; Hello New York and Salut Paris. The Hello New York palette contains purple, blue, and grey shades, and the Salut Paris palette contains grey, pink, and mauve shades. I also bought the other shade of the Essence Matte Touch blushers (20 Berry Me Up!). A couple of products I had heard about and wanted to try out are the Maybelline City Bronzer (shade: 100 Light Cold) and the L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (322 Ivory). I haven’t tried the concealer yet, but so far I really like the bronzer. The lipliner is from NYX, and it’s in the shade Prune. I’m always looking for new purple lipliners. Lastly, I purchased a few back-ups of some of my go-to products; the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation and the e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder. I also purchased a new e.l.f. Complexion brush which is my favourite bronzer brush. My old one was falling apart, so I really needed a new one.

Teal and lime

Here’s the make-up I wore Monday April 1. It’s the same eye make-up that I wore in my last first impressions post. I really love how this whole make-up look turned out. I had almost forgotten how gorgeous a teal lip can be.

Zebra legs

Here’s what I wore Friday March 29. How fun are these zebra print jeans! They make an otherwise really simple and casual outfit way more interesting.

First impressions: Essence G’Day Sydney eyeshadow palette

DSC_7088

It’s time for another ‘first impressions’ post, and this time I’ve tested the Essence G’Day Sydney eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadows swatch very well, and the colours are beautiful, so I had high hopes for this palette.

Lige efter applikation

These first pictures were taken right after application of the eyeshadows. I don’t expect the most incredible quality from an affordable palette, but I was pleasantly suprised by the pigmentation of the eyeshadows. They blended out nicely, though some shades better than others (the matte dark brown shade required a bit more work). There was minimal fall out; only a little from the shimmer shades.

Efter ca. 10,5 timer

These pictures were taken after about 10,5 hours of wear (excuse my shiny skin), and apart from the fact the eyeshadows seem to have faded a tiny bit, they still look pretty good in my opinion. They eyeshadows were very easy to remove with regular eye make-up remover. All in all, I really like this palette, and I’ve used it quite a few times by now.

Bold eyes, bold lips

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Why wear either a bold eye or a bold lip when you can wear both at the same time.

HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Benefit Hoola bronzer, blusher – Milani powder blush in 01 Romantic Rose, highlighter – MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Juvia’s Place The Magic Mini palette (shades: Kesi + Yejide + Buzo) + Wet n Wild Color Icon Rose in the Air palette (shade: shade 1) + MAC Nylon eye shadow, mascara – L’Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara, eyeliner – MUA Intense Glitter eyeliner in Jade Jewel. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: Jeffree Star Velour lip liner in Redrum + MAC Ruby Woo lipstick)

Comfy overalls

Here’s what I wore Saturday March 23. I went to visit a friend of mine who had recently moved, and I just wanted to be really comfortable, so I wore my new denim overalls. I also brought back my red bucket bag that I used a ton last summer, and it was a very happy reunion.

(Overalls – Monki, top + hat – H&M, bag – Topshop, sneakers – Nike)

Tiny Asos haul

A little while ago I ordered a few pieces from Asos that I thought I would share with you.

Blå denim overalls - Monki

I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of loose-fitted denim overalls for a long time, and I think I finally found them in these ones from Monki. They definitely give off carpenter vibes, but I’m all about that. My next post will be an outfit featuring these overalls.

Hvide og sorte zebra print jeans - Asos

I’d had these zebra print jeans saved on Asos for quite a while, and they were on sale, so I had to have them. I love the fit, and I love the print, and I can’t wait to style them in a bunch of different ways.

Lastly, I purchased two golden bracelets. I don’t wear gold jewellery very often, but I needed a couple of bracelets for when I do, and I think both of these are really pretty.

Lime

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m obsessed with green (and blue) eye make-up at the moment, and I love how fun and bright this lime eyeshadow is.
