First impressions: Maybelline Matte + Poreless translucent powder

DSC_3116DSC_3118

It’s time for another ‘first impressions’ post and this time it’ll be short and sweet. I’ve almost used up my Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder, so I wanted to try out a new translucent pressed powder. I love the Maybelline Fit Me line, so I went with the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless powder in the shade 90 Translucent. As you can see it’s a white powder, but it’s not visible on the skin, so it is in fact translucent. It has a nice and soft texture, and it is mattifying, but it doesn’t make your skin look dry. It kept my skin looking matte for a good amount of time, and I didn’t feel the need to touch up during the day. If I was going somewhere in the evening, I would touch up, but that’s the case with most powders. In conclusion, it does what I want a powder to do; to set my foundation and get rid of the worst shine.

A day of second hand shopping

DSC_3017DSC_3015

Here’s what I wore Wednesday July 26. My family and I spent a whole day second hand shopping, and I bought some really nice things that I’ll show you soon.

(Denim jacket + culottes – H&M, T-shirt – Asos, headband – made by my sister, sneakers – Adidas)

Four from H&M

Lyseblå oversized denim jakke - H&MSort kjole m. hvidt mønster - H&MMintgrønne plisserede velour stumpbukser - H&MBeige støvletter m. chunky hæl - H&M

In mid-July I went shopping with my sisters and cousins, and I bought these four pieces at H&M. I’d been looking for an affordable oversized denim jacket, and I found just that. I’ve been wearing it so much; it just works with every outfit. I don’t buy dresses very often anymore, but I thought this black one with the white print was really pretty. I love the high neck, and I know the picture doesn’t show it properly, but it has really pretty wide sleeves. I had been looking at the mint green velvet trousers for ages, so I was really excited to find them on sale, but my sister found them first, and there was only one pair in our size. She bought them, but to my luck she found another pair of velvet trousers that she liked better, so I bought the mint green ones from her. Lastly, I had also been looking at the boots for a while, and when I found them one sale (they were extremely cheap), I had to buy them. I don’t have any other shoes in that colour, and I’m really excited to style them.

Pretty park

Here’s what I wore Monday July 17. I went to a pretty park with my family that day, and I got my sister to take some outfit pictures. I have a couple more outfits from my summer holidays to post, but as you know I had a little internet break in July (even though I still blogged every now and again), so I took a break from taking outfit pictures as well.

Comfort zone

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I often forget about the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone eye shadow palette, but it’s such a good palette; the colours are so beautiful and pigmented. I tend to go for the green shades in the palette, but the browns are gorgeous as well.

Film style icon: Carrie Bradshaw

I’ve decided to only include films and not TV series in this series of posts, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t include a stylish lady who appeared in both. Sex and the City is my second favourite TV series (right after Friends), and even though all four women are style icons, Carrie Bradshaw is the biggest fashionista of them all. She is the most inspiring when it comes to style in my opinion, and even though she rocked some incredible outfits in the TV series, I’m only going to include outfits from the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010). I’m not sure which outfits are from which film, I’ve just chosen a few of my favourites.

The white dress with the huge flower is a classic Carrie outfit. It’s not the easiest dress to pull off, but she does it, and she looks great.

This outfit is one of my absolute favourites. I love the colour combination, and this is an outfit I would love to wear myself.

Another absolute favourite of mine. I love a good suit look, and that pink striped shirt with the white trousers and waistcoat is incredible.

Even with a more casual outfit, Miss Bradshaw wears a pair of insane heels. I love the light blue jeans, and her hair looks amazing.

It probably comes as no surprise that I love this pink dress (which has pockets!). I love the rather simple styling, and it reminds me that I should start wearing my long pearl necklace again.

Bright lips

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. There’s nothing like a bright lip colour to brighten up your face and day.

Skinny jeans

DSC_2895rediDSC_2894redi

Here’s what I wore Monday June 26. I wore a pair of skinny jeans, which I haven’t worn much these past couple of months (I’ve been more into loose fitting trousers and my kick flares), but I think they look nice with the navy fishnets.

(Jeans + bomber – Monki, top – Gina Tricot, fishnet socks – VRS, sneakers – Adidas)

Feel like wearing gold

DSC_2871DSC_2867

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s not the first time I’ve worn a look like this, but when I wear gold jewellery I often feel like wearing a bit of gold on my eyes as well, and red and gold are perfect together.

(Base: primers – Benefit the POREfessional face primer + Wet n Wild CoverAll primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Maybelline Fit Me concealer (shade: 15) + L’Oréal True Match concealer (shade: 1 Ivory), powders – Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light to Medium (shades: Banana + Vanilla) + Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed powder (shade: 001 Transparent).
